Add the Ability to sort in different ways like Bridge
Please, I beg you - let the final Lightroom have the ability to be able to sort in the same different ways that Bridge allows - including a manual sort.
Cheers
Ron
I totally agree. I have submitted it as an idea for a feature request here: Rename child layers (e.g: Rectangle to banner_fill or whatever!)
Do vote for it and mention it to others who use Muse and get them to vote, even if it is a down vote as would be good to get a better idea of where this lies in terms of user "want", for us and the Muse team.

Please add the ability to add multiple folders to the assets folder in order to better organize large numbers of files.
Hello KDLadage
Thank you for your recommendation. I understand the challenges of managing large numbers of files on the My Files page. I also understand the need to preserve project files.
Perhaps a compromise would be to create an Archive tab under My Files. Previous versions and retired project files could then be automatically moved into this holding area when a new version is published, thus preserving the files in a separate area that is still accessible to the author.
I will submit this suggestion to our product management team to consider as a future enhancement. -
Add the same component in 2 different tabs
I am trying to add the same component in two different tabs in a tabbed pane. When I add it (programaticaly) the first instance disappears. Is this at all possible. I dont want to clone the component first and then add it.
Thank youIn my appllication I have a tab (call it main tab) that includes many components, like a textfield and texteditorpane that form a command line tool, a list of connected clients (names) and several other components in the same tab. Now the user, can issue a command from the command line to open any component in a new tab, for example he might want to open the clients list in a separate tab, while still having an instance of the clients list in the main tab.
Also when something is updated (for example a new name is added in the list) I want both instances to be updated at the same time (since there is actually one Jlist object there shouldn't be any additional code to do that).
So far, when i am opening a new tab holding a component from the command line (the one i made), the same component disappears from the main tab.
I ll try what was mentioned above.

Could you please add the abillity to search through layers?
Could you please add the abillity to search through layers?
CS6 has search capabilities in the Layers panel. You can search by layer type, name, Layer Effect, Blend Mode, Layer Atribute (i.e. whether a layer is visible or not) and by Assigned Layer colors)

not buying anything from itunes until it has the ability to sort by popularity
Delete the ENTIRE iTunes folder from her user directory.
Frankly, you should be restoring the laptop as new, either using the restore CD provided by Toshiba or by reinstalling Windows with a Windows CD to remove ALL of her personal information. -
How to add the ability to put EL expressions in Navigation Rules
I had a need to dynamically determine what page to return to in a JSF application. There has to be an easier way, but here's how I wanted to do it. I wanted to put an EL expression in my <to-view-id> nav rules in the JSF config file (e.g. faces-config.xml). This isn't allowed. So I built my own custom ViewHandler to do it.
1) Define the ViewHandler in faces-config.xml:
<application>
<view-handler>com.msd.tts.pluggable.MyDynamicViewHandler</view-handler>
</application>2) Create the class:
package com.msd.tts.pluggable;
import java.io.IOException;
import java.util.Locale;
import javax.faces.*;
import javax.faces.application.ViewHandler;
import javax.faces.component.UIViewRoot;
import javax.faces.context.*;
import javax.faces.el.ValueBinding;
import com.sun.faces.util.Util;
* Adds ability to put EL expressions in the <to-view-id> Navigation Rules in JSF
* configuration file (faces-config.xml).
* @author Craig Peters
* @version 1.0
public class MyDynamicViewHandler extends ViewHandler {
* The original handler we are customizing.
private ViewHandler prevHandler = null;
/** Creates a new instance of MappingViewHandler. By including
* a parameter of the same type, we encourage the JSF framework
* to pass a reference of the previously used ViewHandler. This way
* we can use all the previous functionality and override only the
* method we are interested in (in this case, the getActionURL() method).
public MyDynamicViewHandler(ViewHandler prevHandler) {
this.prevHandler = prevHandler;
@Override
public String getActionURL(FacesContext context, String viewId) {
return prevHandler.getActionURL(context, viewId);
@Override
public Locale calculateLocale(FacesContext context) {
return prevHandler.calculateLocale(context);
@Override
public String calculateRenderKitId(FacesContext context) {
return prevHandler.calculateRenderKitId(context);
@Override
public UIViewRoot createView(FacesContext context, String viewId) {
return prevHandler.createView(context, viewId);
@Override
public String getResourceURL(FacesContext context, String path) {
return prevHandler.getResourceURL(context, path);
@Override
public void renderView(FacesContext context, UIViewRoot viewToRender)
throws IOException, FacesException {
String result = viewToRender.getViewId();
if (Util.isVBExpression(viewToRender.getViewId())) {
ValueBinding vb = context.getApplication().createValueBinding(viewToRender.getViewId());
result = vb.getValue(context).toString();
if (result.charAt(0) != '/')
throw new IllegalArgumentException("Illegal view ID " + result + ". The ID must begin with '/'");
viewToRender.setViewId(result);
prevHandler.renderView(context, viewToRender);
@Override
public UIViewRoot restoreView(FacesContext context, String viewId) {
return prevHandler.restoreView(context, viewId);
@Override
public void writeState(FacesContext context) throws IOException {
prevHandler.writeState(context);
}3) Use EL in navigation rules:
<navigation-rule>
<from-view-id>/CommonForm.jsp</from-view-id>
<navigation-case>
<to-view-id>#{bean.caller}</to-view-id>
</navigation-case>
</navigation-rule>The "bean.caller" method will have saved the page to go back to.
Comments are welcome. I just didn't see any other way to dynamically go back to an arbitrary page.
Thanks.CraigRPeters wrote:
Comments are welcome.Nice stuff. But that means that navigation is hardwired in the backing bean instead of faces-config.xml. Forget this comment if you've maintained a propertiesfile/configurationfile for that.

Two separate versions of the same file corrupted in different ways...
I was working on a Photoshop CS4 file last night that was created in CS4 and has only been opened on this machine in CS4. I saved the file and closed Photoshop. When I open the file today, all my layers are gone, flattened into one Background layer, and the image looks like colored TV static. On top of that, the separate, older version of this file with a different name (created earlier in the week on the same machine in the same CS4) will not open at all - I get the error message, "Could not complete your request because the file is empty" and the file size has mysteriously shrunk to 76 KB from 20+ MB. What happened?! I'm guessing these files are corrupted beyond recovery, but why and how did this happen? Has anyone had this or a similar problem? I want to know how to prevent this from happening in the future. Please help! Thank you. =)
Thanks for the suggestion, Chris.
Same issue, new question - don't ask me why I did this, but while both Photoshop and the now corrupted file were open, I changed the name of the folder containing the file, then continued to save the open version of the file without first closing it and reopening it from the newly renamed folder. Could this have caused both files in that folder to become corrupted in different ways? The other file that gives me the "file is empty" error was not open at the time, but it was in that folder. I'm thinking maybe by changing the path to the files while Photoshop was running, that could have triggered this. ?? I have 3 1TB internal drives raided to read as 1 drive, so I'm really hoping that one of these disks is not dying on me as you suggested. I was also backing up an external drive using BackBlaze when this all occurred - any possible connection? How can I find out if one of my three raided drives (and which one) might be going bad?

How do i add the same mouselistener to many different instantiated objects?
This is for a card game.
The deck class instantiates 52 cards from the card class.
The game has a deck of cards. I am dealing each player their cards, the player is to be dealt 8 cards each of which should have a mouselistener.
How do I add the same mouselistener to each of the cards dealt.
This is how I have it so far but it only adds a mouselistener to the last card dealt.
public void dealPlayerACard()
taken = availableCards.dealCard();
taken.showCard();
taken.addMouseListener(this);
public void mouseClicked(MouseEvent MEvent)
playerHand.remove(taken);
paintHand(playerHand);
playerHand.repaint();
Any help would be appreciatedYeh I have 52 card object in the deck. Theyre not individually named, they were instantiated in the deck class.
standardDeck.add(new Card(a, b, new ImageIcon(str), cardBack)); //creating and then adding the cards
So i draw one card at a time, and I had a mouselistener to that particular card. But the thing is, When the cards are clicked, some checking happens and if the move is legal, the card is added back into the deck and its mouselistener should be removed. This is because that card could then be added to the computers hand, and I dont want no player using the computer players cards.
The game deals the cards to players, players use the cards and then send them to the bottom of the deck, the deck is shuffled and then the game continues until a condition is met by either of the players.
So i dont understand how a loop solution would work here. My mind is blank at the moment, maybe im not understanding properly. I am new to java. So if you do know the answer, please tell it to me. Please dont wait for a lightbulb to appear above my head. ;) -

Add the ability to manipulate image data early during the import process
Following many discussions about the inability to cleanly support aspect ratio in LR, it would be useful to have the ability to interviene in the import process (early) and manipulate the exif data. It is possible to attach a metadata preset during import but presets do not give the ability to change the aspect ratio and cropping tags.
This feature could have many other uses such as allowing more complex naming schemes, copy location, etc.Perhaps your post would be better received in the Lightroom forum? (this is the SDK forum).
Or perhaps better still, the feedback forum: http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/import_actionshttp://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/new
SDK-wise: one can easily intervene via plugin and apply whatever transformations pre-import that one could think of...

Basically inside the bookmarks library, when searching for a particular bookmark, there is no way to display which folder that bookmark is saved to.
It has been very frustrating to not be able to do this because I'm a guy that has probably 2000+ bookmarks for reference and if I want to be able to move the bookmarks or confirm they are in the folder I wish, I would like a way to be able to search for them and have it not just show their location as a web address but ALSO as where they are saved. Perhaps name that new column "Folder" like Microsoft does in windows when you display a folder in the "Detail" view you know?

I have a performance problem with the statement below when running it with an insert or with execute immediate.

When I run this statement I get one row back within one second, so there is no performance problem.

Thanks, for pointing to the metalink bug, I have also searched in metalink, but didn't find this bug.
I have a little bit more information about the problem.
I use the following select (now in a readable format)
select count (1)
from ( (select 'different (target)' compare_type
,t.id_org_addr id_org_addr -- ID_ORG_ADDR
,t.vpd_country vpd_country -- CTL_COUNTRY
,t.addr_type addr_type -- ADDRESSTYP_COD
from (select *
from (select t.*
from ods.ods_org_addr t
left outer join
m_sy_foreign_key m
on m.vpd_country = t.vpd_country
and m.key_type = 'ORGADDR2'
and m.target_value = t.id_org_addr
where coalesce (t.end_date, to_date ('99991231', 'yyyymmdd')) >= sysdate) /*SGRB*/
where vpd_country = 'NL' /*EGRB*/
) t
where exists
(select null
from (select *
from (select m.target_value id_org_addr
,s.wkp_id_cegedim || '-' || s.adr_id_cegedim || '-' || s.addresstyp_cod id_cegedim
,s.*
from okc_mdl_workplace_address s
left outer join
m_sy_foreign_key m
on m.vpd_country = s.ctl_country
and m.key_type = 'ORGADDR2'
and m.source_value = s.wkp_id_cegedim || '-' || s.adr_id_cegedim || '-' || s.addresstyp_cod
where coalesce (s.end_val_dat, to_date ('99991231', 'yyyymmdd')) >= sysdate) /*SGRB*/
where ctl_country = 'NL' /*EGRB*/
) s
where t.id_org_addr = s.id_org_addr)
minus
select 'different (target)' compare_type
,s.id_org_addr id_org_addr -- ID_ORG_ADDR
,s.ctl_country vpd_country -- CTL_COUNTRY
, (select to_number (l.target_value)
from okc_code_foreign l
where l.source_code_type = 'TYS'
and l.target_code_type = 'ADDRLINKTYPE'
and l.source_value = upper (s.addresstyp_cod)
and l.vpd_country = s.ctl_country)
addr_type -- ADDRESSTYP_COD
from (select *
from (select m.target_value id_org_addr
,s.wkp_id_cegedim || '-' || s.adr_id_cegedim || '-' || s.addresstyp_cod id_cegedim

where coalesce (s.end_val_dat, to_date ('99991231', 'yyyymmdd')) >= sysdate) /*SGRB*/
where ctl_country = 'NL' /*EGRB*/
) s)) The select is executed in 813 msecs
When I execute the same select using execute immediate like:
declare
ln_count number;
begin
execute immediate q'[<select statement>]' into ln_count;
end;This takes 3:56 minutes to complete.
When I change the second coalesce part (the one within the exists) in the flowing way:
the part
coalesce (s.end_val_dat, to_date ('99991231', 'yyyymmdd')) >= sysdate
is replaced by
s.end_val_dat >= sysdate or s.end_val_dat is nullthen the execution time is even faster (560 msecs) in both, the plain select and the select using the execute immediate. -
Hi,
I want to center two different text row that are in the same table but one on the center and the other one on the left. I put a <span> tag hoping that it has been overwhelmed the table's class properties The .bottomsel's font-family and the .Cig84's font-family and colour work but the text-align don't: they're both on the left.
These are my source and CSS codes:
Source:
<table width="600" border="0">
<tr>
<td class="bottomref"><p><span class="bottomsel">| <a href="index.html" target="_self">Main</a> | <a href="about.html" target="_self">About</a> | <a href="clients.html" target="_self">Clients</a> | <a href="contact.html" target="_self">Contact</a> |</span><br />
<span class="credits">Credits: <span class="Cig84">Cig84</span></span></p></td>
</tr>
</table>
CSS:
.bottomsel {
text-align: center;
font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", Times, serif;
.credits {
text-align: left;
.Cig84 {
color: #F00;
font-family: "Comic Sans MS", cursive;Use paragraph tags with CSS classes.
CSS:
.center {text-align:center}
.left {text-align:left}
HTML:
<table width="600" border="0">
<tr>
<td class="bottomref">
<p class="center">This text is center aligned</p>
<p class="left">This text is left aligned</p>
</td>
</tr>
</table>
