"add wireless clients" functionality --not working

I'm hoping someone can help me figure out the Add Wireless Client functionality in the AirPort utility. I can't seem to get it to work, and even Apple support appears to be stumped.
I have tried using the "add wireless clients" functionality in the Base Station menu of Airport Utility. When the "Wireless Client Setup Assistant" window opens, there are two choices: PIN or First attempt. Neither option seems to work. In fact, if I try to enter a PIN, I am able to enter a series of numbers, but the continue button does not become enabled.
Is anyone able to get this to work? I called Apple support and they were supposed to get back to me but they as of yet haven't offered a solution.
I have an airport extreme 802.11n and express configured in a WDS. Everything else is working perfectly.

  • Adobe Muse (2014.3) "Add Web Font" Function Not Working As Expected - Newly Added Fonts Become Unavailable Though Shown

    Hello.
This has also been posted in the Community: Adobe Muse Bugs forum.
I've been having some odd/irregular issues though they have now become fairly predictable in nature. The issue is in regards to Adobe Muse (2014.3) and the availability of web fonts provided through the applications "Add Web Fonts" feature. Once added they perform as expected but then become "unavailable." Full details below. I have been a Creative Cloud Complete subscriber for a number of years so am fairly familiar with the way in which the system works minus a few issues that have popped up now and then, this one included.
    System Info:
Adobe Creative Cloud (Full Subscription): Version 1.9.1.474
    Adobe Muse: Version 2014.3
    OS X Yosemite: 10.10.2
Here is a recap of what has been taking place. I'll detail the bug as best I can.
    1. Created new Adobe Muse project. Everything normal.
    2. Chose to add a new font through the "Add Web Fonts" function within Muse. A note, my Creative Cloud App is running/open at all times (in file synch mode).
    3. Chose new fonts using above. All seemed fine (see screenshots below).
    4. Fonts also were indicated as being "Synched" within Creative Cloud (screenshot below).
    5. As expected the two fonts were added to the list of available Web Fonts within Muse (first screenshot below - left). I added them successfully to my site. Well after a number of hours I went back to this same font selection menu within Muse and the fonts were still visible yet the sub-menu that one would expect showing various forms (i.e. Bold, Italic, etc) was not available. In a sense the font could not be chosen from the list even though the name is clearly visible (second screenshot below - right).
Have no idea what may have been wrong. Saved Muse project, closed and reopened - nothing changed. Created new project - fonts still "shown" in menu but can't be used. Did find a vague description using Google of similar problem (different application) which recommended closing Creative Cloud Desktop App and reopening as one possible solution. This DID WORK initially yet the problem, though corrected for a period of time (few hours at most), would reappear again where one would again see yet not be able to choose from the two Web Fonts. Went so far as to uninstalling the Creative Cloud Desktop application and reinstalling. Still have not solved the problem.
Any thoughts as to what this may be would be welcome. Restarting the CC app each and every time the fonts become unavailable is quite time consuming to my workflow.
    Thanks!

    Abhishek,
Thank you for the reply. Wanted to comment on a few things.
I reviewed the other post that you've referenced. Nothing unusual jumped out at me as something that I was not aware of. I'm running an older iMac that is in good working condition. 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 24" screen. I know this issue is fleeting, as I stated earlier typically can be corrected with a restart of the CC Desktop application (that I am always running at startup). I have not been able to determine that shutting down Muse corrects the issue. I would, at this time say it doesn't.
I did open InDesign and see if the fonts in question, Open Sans and Open Sans Condensed, were present and usable. They were. The fonts are shown as being synched in my CC Desktop app window (even if they are not "installed" in Muse). That is expected but it may be a bug in how Muse brings in a font from those that are already synched to your CC account. I don't know enough about how that works to comment.
And just to complicate matters, Muse seems to be working again, the fonts that is. I brought them back in and they are showing up in all locations (which there are actually three - see screen shots).
First is primary text menu dropdown (to right of orange "Text").
Second is if you click orange Text link. Another drop down menu appears.
And lastly, the Text Panel to right of screen.
I also wanted to add this extra bit of information, for what it is worth. When the issue arises and you do not get the sub-menu dropdown showing various styles of the font (italics, bold, etc.), one can use click on the missing font if you had used it previously and it is present in the "previously used font" list.
    Cheers!

  • Wireless Printer function not working - was when purchased a year ago

Serial # if needed: [ Moderator edited Serial Number]
    Hi,
As stated above, I can't print wirelessly as was able to previously.  I am completely at a loss and have tried numerous times to solve this knowing it was working at some time.  I know, definition of insanity with numerous attempts.  Anyway, seems to not be recognizing IP address.  Below error message:
    Unable to Find Printer;
    Paraphrasing
"The ip address is either incorrect or it is from a different wireless network that has the same name as your network."
    I have a Netgear router model N300 model # wnr3500L.
It recognizes an HP printer on the home network.
I looked at another forum with a Cisco/Linksys router with Windows and the advice was to change ip range on router to
192.168.1.100 to 192.168.1.150 and change printer to static 192.168.1.10.  I changed printer to latter address just for fun and got error message again.  I am going to go back to original setting which is 10.0.0.9 dynamically given.
    Please help.  Thanks.
    Steve

BTW, how can I personalize my login handle?  It seems to have named me manifold (student) by default.

  • AEBS(n) Add Wireless Client Help?

Using the Airport Utility for my AEBS(n), it has a menu item in the Base Station Menu (on the menu bar) labeled "Add Wireless Clients..." It apparently allows you to have a temporary pin number to allow short access to the network without the WPA key.
The textbox only allows 8 numbers, and won't allow letters/characters. I've tried to get this to work, but after entering an arbitrary Pin in the textbox, the Continue button at the bottom of the screen never becomes enabled.
I have WPA/WPA2 enabled. Is there something in my setup that is preventing this from working? The help files are no help...

That is only an option if you are using MAC address filtering. Since you are not, you don't have to worry about that.
Is your AirPort Express (AX) set to 802.11n operation only? If so, is this Windows laptop capable of 802.11n? If not you will need to configure the AX to a 802.11b/g compatible mode.
What type of wireless encryption are you using? Is this Windows laptop compatible with that?
If you are outside the US, try configuring the AX to use a channel between 1 and 11.

  • Cannot "Add Wireless Client"

I have been using iMac for years and worked well with my Airport Express. Yesterday, one of my friends brought a notebook running Windows Vista to my house and wanted to connect his machine to my airport wireless network, but it failed. I want to know if there is anything I need to do so that I can allow another pc connecting to my network? I've read through almost all docs I could find in the apple web site; when I followed one of them by opening Airport utility and tried to click on the "Add Wireless Client", I found this option is dimmed and not able to click on it? Could someone help me? thanks a lot.

  • Can't Add Wireless Clients; Can't Type PIN into Setup Field

I have an Airport Express "n" station, set to be compatible with "b" and "g" as well.
I would like to use the Add Wireless Clients feature of 7.3.2.
In the Airport Utility, when I go to:
Base Station > Add Wireless Clients
and follow the prompts, it never finds any first-time clients to assign a PIN to, even when there's one present that already has logged in and out of the network with a password.
Am I misunderstanding the way this function works? I assume from the Help page that when a client is within range, you can assign it a PIN for 24 hours or permanently. But I can't seem to make it work.

Since writing the title of this post, I was able to type numbers into the setup field; I forgot to delete that from the title. Apologies.

  • The volume keys on my Logitech K760 wireless keyboard do not work with my 2.3 GHz, Intel Core i5 Mac mini which runs Mac OS X 10.7.4. Anyone know how to correct this without having to re-code firmware?

My first post to the Apple Support Community so it looks like all I wanted to know is covered in the title. The research I have done led me to solutions that I am not comfortable trying for fear of irreparably damaging my keyboard and/or Mac mini. Does anyone have a simpler solution? Please? Hellooooo?
Just in case the title is too long to show, I have re-pasted here:

  • Why is the scroll function not working after accessing the voice feature in settings?

Why is the scroll function not working after accessing the voice feature in settings?

For some prerecorded audio files the Transpose slider will not work reliably. I found no clear pattern, when it does and when not.
If all fails, create a loop from the audio file. Select the region in the track and use the command "File: Add region to Loop library".
Set the current key and tempo, name the loop, and save the loop.
Now add it from the loop browser to a new track and delete your old track. The search field in the Loop browser will help you to find the loop quickly.
You will be able to transpose the sample as described above, like a regular loop.
For example - a audio file turned into a loop and transposed:

  • Wireless mouse will not work at the top of the page on ANY website while running Firefox 7.0.1

I am currently running Firefox 7.0.1 and have not had many problems until today. I have noticed that my wireless mouse will not work at the top of any website. This means I cannot log into many sites. I have also noticed that during page downloads, I have to move the mouse in order for the page to load or it just pauses. Any help would be appreciated!

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
*Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • Ccmsping Installation: RFC client functionality not configured

    Hi there,
I've tried to install a ccmsping on our Solution Manager (EHP 1, SP 23). First everything looks fine, but when I try to start the agent in the last step, following info appears:
INFO: Updated saprfc.ini in agent work directory <DIR>
INFO: Connected to <SID>, CCMS version in ABAP: ...
    INFO: handling destination CCMS_SYSTEM_PING_DEST
    INFO: successfully registered at <SID>
INFO: RFC client functionality not configured
    INFO: Updated config file <DIR>.
When I start "System Monitoring" in the workcenter, the status of ccms is "no ccmsping data available".
Any idea? Can anybody explain me the info "RFC client functionality not configured"?

  • HT3500 To add a wireless adapter to my Airport Extreme network using WPS, documentation recommends adding it under "Add wireless clients" in Airport Utility but there's no such an item anywhere in v6

I am trying to connect an Iogear Wifi adapter from my home entertainment center to my Airport Extreme home network (secured with personal WPA) using WPS. Apple's support literature says to do this through Airport Utility (v.6) choosing Manual Setup from Base Station Menu and Add Wireless Client. After hours of searching and fiddling I cannot find "Manual setup" or "Add Wireless Client" in the Airport Utility (v.6). HELP.  andy

Those instructions are for Airport Utility v5.5.3 or v5.6. As a matter of fact, Airport Utility 6.0 does NOT have that options. So assuming you have Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4, you have to download and install Airport Utility 5.6 for Mac OS X Lion. Then follow those simple instructions you have.

  • Add Wireless Clients

the Airport Express Menu describes a means to 'add wireless clients' from the Airport Utilities Base Station Menu; it says "Choose Add Wireless Clients from the Base Station Menu". Well, there is no such choice available on any screen I can find. My goal is to allow "first attempt" access for a digital frame device (which apparently won't transmit the proper password, something I've tried about a dozen times).
Any help/ideas out there?? Thanks in advance, Ron

I assume you meant "Airport Express manual" (or maybe Online Help, but not "menu.")
In OSX 10.3.9, anyway, the Airport Admin Utility provides a WDS tab. The tools needed to add wireless clients are on this tab.
But you shouldn't need to do this. A wireless client is another base station, such as a second AE. Your digital frame device is just something with a wireless card.
Have you tried disabling wireless security via the Utility's Airport tab? This should solve the password problem for the moment and let you see whether there are other problems awaiting.
Later, you can seek a long-term solution to the password mystery. Perhaps, for example, your AE is set for WPA encryption but your frame device can only do WEP.

  • Extending wireless network - allow wireless clients or not?

    Hi,
sorry if this is a stupid question but I cannot find the answer on the internet.
I have a setup with 3 level house, 3 airport extremes, the one in the middle connected via ethernet to router and acting as DHCP server.
The other two are setup to 'extend network'
Question I have is should I check "allow wireless clients" or not because when I do it seems to make the main AP extreme a client of the other two as well. This seems strange to me. any help would be appreciated.

do you work in entertainment industry at all? I know a bob timmons...
    That would not be me.
any ideas why my extension airport extremes see the main DHCP extreme as clients?
This is normal. The "main" base station is a client of the "extending" Airport....and the "extending" AirPort is a client of the "main" base station.  You would not have any extension if they were not clients of each other. In simple terms, they are communicating with each other at all times.
also any idea of the actual range of the AP extremes?
They usually check out at about 45-50 meters or 150 feet or so....but range measurements are made in "free air" in a large space....like an airplane hangar......with no obstructions in the signal path. Most homes are laid out a bit differently.
I've seen installations where the signal would barely go through one wall to a computer that was no more than 10 feet away from the router.  The wall was metal lathe and plaster, so in effect the very weak signal was being asked to power though metal. Not much signal was getting through.
In very general terms, a typical wall of sheetrock or wallboard and 2 x 4s will absorb on average 15-20% of the wireless signal. A ceilng will absorb much more because it is much thicker.  In most homes, after 3 or 4 walls, or a ceiling and a wall, there won't be much signal left.
Now, if you  have adobe walls or cement walls or ceilings, everything changes dramatically. You get the idea.
My home is about 2400 sq ft, single level, of typical construction.  I use 3 AirPort Extremes....all connected by Ethernet....not wireless....to get full speed, fast coverage virtually everywhere.  I use an AirPort Express to "extend"....using wireless only....if I want to take my laptop out on the patio.
Older iPhones can connect at maximum 54 Mbps if they are literally right on top of the router. Typically, they might be at 25-35 Mbps or so with a good signal in the next room.  The 180 and 270 numbers signify that these connections are 5 GHz...probably a newer Mac laptop or iMac.
If you have a Mac laptop and don't mind a $3 investment to get a good utility, WiFi Explorer can reveal some very useful things about your network.  Post back if you are interested and we will take this up on Thursday.

Not able to sign into Blackberry Protect.  Backup and Restore function not working. Message is: "Your device isn't associated with a Blackberry ID."  My Blackberry Messenger and Blackberry World is working fine so I am sure its not an ID issue on the phone.  I can sign into Link, Blackberry.com and Protect.  I see my device in Protect but cannot send messages or view it on a map.  Times out with cannot reach device message.  BB Protect on Device has a swirling circle beside the on/of switch.  Cannot turn off.
I have deleted Link and re-installed.
I have reset phone to default(factory) and signed in.
    OS level is 10.2.1.3062
    BB Link is 1.2.3.56
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I managed to figure this out myself. I had to delete the device from the Blackberry Protect website.  protect.blackberry.com.  I wiped my device again and signed in with my Blackberry ID.  I dont know if the step of wiping was necessary as I did not try my backup with the current configuration on the device following the delete.  Restore is in progress for me!
