Adding 50 States to Form Field

Is there an wasy way to input the 50 states into a form field? Or do I have to manually input each state individually?
(I'm using Spry Widgets if that means anything...)

Kaosweaver makes an Extension for this.  A huge time saver!

  • Adding Custom Backend service form fields in SAP_PA

    Hi All,
    I have defined a rule in the form scenario using a form field in my custom backend service. I want this rule to be used in the operation of the SAP_PA backend service.
    In order to use the rule in SAP_PA, the field from the custom backend service(used in the rule definition) has to be assigned to SAP_PA as well. Unfortunately I am not able to assign it.
    I have seen SAP delivered from scenarios (S_HR_PA_US_CHG_PERM_ADDR) where they have assigned fields from custom backend service to SAP_PA, Can you please guide me how to acheive this ??
    Thanks,
    Bharath

    Try directly adding the field in the form scenario in the SAP_PA service.
    Thanks,

  • How to update session state from form field values without submitting page?

    Hi,
    I am new to Oracle APEX. I am using Oracle Apex 4.2 on Oracle 11g release 2. The problem is that when I am entering data on a form, when I enter a value in one field and move to the next field, how can I use the value of first field in the validation procedure of next field? I know that when we enter data in fields, the session state is not updated with these values until we submit the page... right... but I have seen that if there is a control of List box type, then Apex gives an option "Action When List changes" where we can choose option to update corresponding session state field with the value of list box item, without submitting the page.
    Now my questions is why this option is only available for List box items? why not for other item types like Text box, Check box,... ? can someone please help me with this?
    (the issue with update of session state depending on page submitting, is that we need a complete network round trip from client to server in order for it. However if we can update session state variables without submitting page, then we can avoid this network traffic).
    Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Create a dynamic action on change and run a PL/SQL process there with the following code:
    BEGIN
       NULL;
    END;Page items to submit > your item.
    This will set the session state without submitting the form.

  • Can you create a button that adds specific text to a form field?

    Hi,
    I was wondering if it was possible to create a button in a PDF that, when clicked, adds specific text to a form field?
    I am trying to make a product catalogue where you click on a product button to add the product name or code to a form field.
    Each product in the catalogue will have a button and the more you click the more is added to the form field(s).
    Then when you have finished adding products to the form field(s) I want to be able to save and email the entire PDF as an order form.
    Any thoughts would be appreciated!
    Cheers,
    Jim

    Yes, it's possible. The most simple version of such a script will be something like this (used as the button's MouseUp event):
    var v = this.getField("Products");
    if (f.value!="")
         f.value += ", ";
    f.value += "Product1";

  • PDF with form fields & restricted permissions

    I have a PDF file that is an illustrated monthly calendar. It was designed in Xara Designer, saved as a PDF through PrimoPDF and then brought into Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 were text fields were added.  Additionally, the permissions on the PDF have been restricted (password security) so that no one can import the file into Illustrator, Photoshop (or the like). I need to prevent people from extracting or altering the illustrations.
    Here's the issue...
    I sell these calendars in digital format and PC/windows users have no problem adding text to the form fields using Adobe Reader.  Even desktop Mac users can do it using Adobe Reader for Mac.
    HOWEVER, the text fields do not work on Adobe Reader for iPad!  The calendar pdf file opens, you can actually SEE the text fields (blueish color), but you can't click in a text box and start typing.
    I've done some testing and when the PDF file does not have permissions restricted it works just fine.
    But I must have permissions restricted to protect the integrity and copyright of my illustrations, while still allowing users the ability to add typed text into the preformatted text boxes on the calendar.
    Any workaround? Any ideas why it doesn't work on iPad??

    Currently, Adobe Reader for iOS doesn't support form filling in any protected documents.

  • Adding form fields breaks tag structure

    I have been teaching workshops at my university on creating accessible PDF forms from MS Word. I am very familiar with PDF accessibility. For the most part, the process of field recognition, marking up tables, writing tooltips, manipulating the tag tree, etc., all goes smoothly. I have noticed something that is creating a lot more work for our people, however.
    After adding forms to the tagged PDF using recognition and the Tools > Forms > Add New Field tool, we adjust the field tab order and add tooltips. Once all of that is in place and we are ready to fine tune, we click the Tools > Accessibility > Add Form Fields to Tags button. Adding Form Fields to Tags does not work consistently if you edit the tag structure manually while in the Forms creation process. You can do some tag remediation prior to entering the Forms tool, but if you edit the tag structure while in Forms, the Adding Form Fields to Tags often does nothing -- this is certainly a bug in Acrobat X but it is not hard to work around.
    The larger problem is that after we click Add Form Fields to Tags button, the tag structure reveals itself to be very much distorted and extreme amounts of tag structure remediation is required. Here are three screen shots that illustrate the point.
    This first image shows the on-screen appearance.
    Below is the expanded tags tree, prior to adding fields to the tag structure:
    The tag structure is clean and elegant. If I were to publish this, no remediation would be necessary.
    And here is the tag structure after adding form fields:
    What has happened is Acrobat has grabbed recognized form fields and other elements in the document and has jammed them into the tag structure. Other things are affected as well. For example, headings in the page have extra, redundant textruns in them.
    This has radically negatively affected the tag structure, requiring the author to do lots of remediation.
    Any recommendations? solutions? similar experiences?
    It seems obvious to me that this is a flaw in Acrobat that needs to be addressed, if accessibility is a goal. Or perhaps I'm doing something wrong??

    Hi Daver1111,
    Nope. No answer and nothing from Adobe.
    I know something is going really really wrong, too: We have a product called CommonLook. It's an enterprise-level PDF accessibility remediation tool. It works well in fixing most structural problems in PDF through a relatively easy to use interface--you just drag textruns and elements around. It also has some tools that automate cleanup for accessibility.
    I have no problem using this tool 99% of the time, but when I use it on forms I have made in Acrobat, the CommonLook plugin hangs when I try to save the PDF. It identifies a "structural error" in the PDF and crashes, leaving the PDF unchanged.
    You can change the PDF in Acrobat by spending time moving around and creating new elements and deleting extra textruns and such, but, wow, what a royal pain in the *** that is!
    Since no one is from Adobe is responding, I'm going to file a bug report.
    Cheers,
    ken

  • Webpage PDF states This file is a PDF form when no form fields in actual pdf

    I have an acrobat.com account, and when uploading and displaying pdf's in a webpage, even when there are no form fields in the pdf it states that "This file is a PDF form, please download and fill in"
    Even creating a new pdf this state seems to now be the default in Acrobat Pro 8 on my Mac, how do i reset back to defaults so this does not happen?
    See https://acrobat.com/#d=5p8gk446VqZNgeNfbRc8-w
    For what i mean...there are no fields in this pdf....when saving an existing pdf or creating a new one this now happens.
    many thanks

    That's not the only problem looks like adobe.com has problems as well. IF the same site is spoofed with FF useragent, works perfect.

  • Adding Form Fields to Structure

    I am working with Adobe Acrobat Pro v9 with a PowerPoint document that I converted to a PDF.  I'm working on making it accessible.  It is a simple course certificate with one form field, a text box that the user simply types their name in.  When I run Accessibility: Full Check I get one error message relating to adding form fields to structure.
    It says I need to choose Adanced Accessibility: Add Form Fields to PDF Tags.  When I do that and run the Full Check again, I continue to get the same message.
    Am I missing a step?  Or is there anything else I need to do?
    Thanks!

    Just some nattering here, but -
    After any edits/changes save the PDF before running Full Checker again.
    Open the Tags panel, expand the structure tree, from the Options menu turn on Highlight Content.
    Walk down the tree. Look for <Form>.
    From the Options menu (for the Tags panel) use "Find".
    Look for Unmarked Annotations.
    Note that "Run Form Field Recognition" will add <Form> to the structure tree.
    However, the OBJR beneath it is "generic" and not "your" form field.
    For this situation you'd have to add yours (use Find - the dialog has a button to permit tagging an item).
    Once the form field annotation is "in" the structure tree you'll want to ensure it is positioned appropriately; in context of the page's logical hierarchy.
    Be well...

  • Adding white space in a form field

    Hello all,
    anyone know if it is possible to add whitespace in a form field.
    I have an IF like this ....
    <?if:WORKSITE_ADDRESS2=''?>
    <?WORKSITE_ADDRESS3?> <?WORKSITE_ADDRESS4?> <?end if?>
    I need a space to appear in between WORKSITE_ADDRESS3 and WORKSITE_ADDRESS4.
    I can not figure out how to do that ? is it possible ? the results I get are that
    the two values are shown with no space in between. Do I have to use separate form fields?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    I hit the same issue a while back, the workaround is to use the CDATA tag. See the below post:
    Form fields stripping SPACE characters from IF statement
    Thanks

  • Adding saved form fields when page count changes

    It appears that there isn't a way inside of EchoSign to apply a set of forms fields that has been saved to the templates if the new version of the form has a page added or deleted.
    It seems like it would either require the form fields to be edited outside of EchoSign or be recreated from scratch if the form adds or removes a page when it is updated.
    I would appreciate any insight or confirmation.

    The situation would be thus:
    The document for Form Z is created in a program such as Word and has several pages. The Word document is uploaded to EchoSign. This converts the Word Doc to a pdf, and then the form fields added in EchoSign. Then that EchoSign form is saved as a template (both document and form fields) in the Library.
    Now, the client who created the Word document comes back a year later with a revised version of the Word Doc that has one fewer page. If that new Doc is uploaded to EchoSign, the form fields from the first version of the form cannot be imported and applied to the new version because the number of pages in the new document doesn't match the number of pages in the old document.
    This appears to be similar to LiveCycle, where you cannot replace the background pdf unless the new file has the same number of pages as the old pdf.
    Unfortunately, it is quite common for these larger and more complex forms to add or delete pages when they are revised, and those are exactly the forms that one would want to avoid rebuilding from scratch.

  • Color Changes when form field added

    When I add a form filed to a pdf, the color changes on the output of the pdf.
    Print out the attached pdf pages 1 and 3. Look at the green button. It is darker on the pages with the form field(p1) then on page 3. they are the same source file. It like when I add the form field, it changes the page to a CMYK color space and the images are in a RGC Color space.
    Any ideas

    Follow-up:
    One of my colleagues is working on a product feature that involves checkboxes (this is how I came across this issue in the first place). His checkboxes aren't contained within a form element whereas in my test page I described in my question when I removed the form from the page the issue didn't manifest.
    However, the page he's working on does contain other forms so I decided to modify my test page to try to replicate this scenario. I found some really odd behavior.
    If I have a form on a page but the checkboxes are not children of that form, and if I dynamically add a single INPUT element or a single TEXTAREA input, the checked values just disappear on page refresh. That's expected since the lack of a parent form should eliminate the memory of the checkbox values, right?
    Well, when I dynamically add '''both''' an INPUT element and a TEXTAREA element it goes right back to remembering '''and''' moving the checked value, but only by one step. By comparison, if the checkboxes and the dynamically added form fields are contained with a form the checked value will move by a number of steps equal to the number of dynamically added form fields.
    Strange, strange behavior I can't really decode with certainty across the entire range of possible scenarios...

  • Adding Task Form Fields to Approval Step

    I created a SharePoint Designer workflow which handles the approval of list items I would like to have some extra site columns added to my approval form.
    When I do this in SPD I can add an existing site column (sometimes a few more) but after a while I'm getting the following error when I try to save the workflow:
    Could not save the field changes to the server. The Object has been updated since it was last fetched.
    When I get this errorI have to close the Site in SPD. Reopen it and try again. After while I then have all my fields on the form. So I can still get the job done, but this is quite annoying.
    Anybody else having similar problems? Did you find a better workaround?
    I'm using SPD 2010 and SP 2010

    Ok, I found the cause of the problem.
    When you use an already existing site column then 90% of the time SPD fails to handle the column.
    If you however create a new field then it SPD simply works. This is a bit of a shame as the columns already exist in my site. Remember I just wanted a column used by my item to be displayed on the task, and therefore the field already exists.

  • Acrobat XI hangs when adding a response from distributed form, when specific form field is filled

    As the question says, when using the distribute form functionality of Acrobat, it hangs at the step of importing or adding a filled form, when a specific field on the form is filled.  It happens whether the tracker automatically detects it when I open the distributed form and asks me to add it, or I manually try to add it in the responses form. Here's the screenshot of when I tried manually adding it.  The first line is the one that hangs and is missing all fields except that "Approved" check box.  But it's the last field "ApprovedDate" that makes it hangs if it's filled in the form.  The Progress dialog just stays there forever and I can't click cancel.  When it tries to add it automatically, nothing appears on the screen, the form just stays open and the tracker doesn't come up.  I'm on Windows 7, Acrobat XI Pro.  I can send you the form if needed.
    Edit: I investigated further and there were Java scripts associated with that date field.  These would have been added while creating the form in Acrobat; I don't remember how exactly, but I only meant to validate the date format.  I've removed all the scripts and reset the desired date format on the field and it seems to work now.

    I use Mavericks and Acrobat XI. I haven't had any issues so far.

  • Users are adding text boxes and not typing in form fields.

    I have created forms for a client to use as grade school report cards. Some of the teachers are having issues because they are not clicking on the form fields to add information. They are actually creating and editing their own text boxes. The instructions to click on the form field and type do not seem to be working. Any suggestions?

    You can use standard password security to allow form filling but disallow commenting, which includes adding text boxes.
