Adding a hyperlink in Webdynpro ESS box

Hi Group,
I need to add hyperlink to a box displayed in ESS side. The webdynpro application I am looking into is HRESS_A_PER_US_ONLINE_W2. In the election tab, I need to add a hyperlink inside 'Additional Information' box.
I tried to create a GENERAL TEXT in SE61 and insert a link which works fine in the preview in SE61 but this doesn't show up as a hyperlink in the ESS side. It just displays the command for the hyperlink as such.

Hi Maria,
I think you are not very much familiar with the object navigator and Webdynpro component's structure. I suggest you take the help of a developer who is familiar with WDA.
You need to enhance the standard component to achieve your requirement.
Your requirement can be achieved as below
Open the standard WDA component in SE80 and go to the respective view
Enhance the view and go to the view layout
Add UI element LinkToUrl or LinkToAction
To set the link text from data element documentation,
Go to the POSTEXIT of wddomodifyview( ) method of view
Get the documentation text by using function module DOCU_GET_FOR_F1HELP
Get the link ui element from view like
                  data lo_view_element type ref to if_wd_view_element.
               lo_view_element ?= VIEW->GET_ELEMENT( 'LINK' )
Set the text, by using method
               lo_view_element->set_text( lv_doc_text ).

Add a hyperlink to a css box? not sure what exactly do you mean. However, you can add a hyperlink in your html code like this:

Is it possible to activate a hyperlink in a text box, so that the hyperlink then works when the iBook is used on an iPad?

You can add a frame image itself - no need to use text box... but if you must.. you are better using Shapes as image placeholders. Conversly - you can add text to Shapes!
Text boxes and shapes are treated differently by the Inspector when opting to use in a way that Apple did not think you would do!
Hyperlinks are best made in its own text box and nothing else added. make another text box.. input content and align to choice, remember ARRANGE move to front pust one text box above the other and allows you to juggle placing your content on the page.

Content Mirroring with WebDynpro ESS

Hi,
I created the ECC5 ESS package in my clients namespace. using Content Mirroring (this works nicely).
BUT the ESS role's Area/Group Area pages configed in the IMG still point to the standard installed ESS package. ie I nav to my ESS role click
Is there a tool simliar to Content Mirroring for the IMG to create all the necessary entries to match my new name space?
What is (current) best practice for webdynpro ESS? Can anyone point me to any docs? I've checked out the help but not seen anything to date...

Help with adding a hyperlink to a button?

We have a simple little site we built in Catalyst and everything works great. The only problem is that we cannot figure out how to add a hyperlink to one of the buttons in the animation. We simply want to be able to click on the button and go to another site (the client's Facebook page specifically). Can anyone provide some insight? Thanks!

What is the diff between ITS ESS/MSS and Webdynpro ESS/MSS

Hi all,
Could anybody tell me the differences between ITS ESS/MSS and Webdynpro ESS/MSS?
Presently we have ITS based ESS/MSS in our landscape and customer wants to go for Webdynpro ESS/MSS. and Webdynpro ESS/MSS is already installed in the sandbox system where ITS based ESS/MSS is already there.
my doubt is can we install both ESS/MSS in the same server? if it is installed we may get any problems?

Adding a hyperlink to a fillable form text box

I am creating a form in Adobe Acrobat X Standard. The form is for concept proposals submitted by staff. I would like a text field where users of the form can enter a hyperlink (URL, or if possible, also a location on our network drive) so that the people assessing the form can follow these links for further information.
I've had an extensive read of Google, these forums and experimented, but I haven't discovered a way to do this and am losing all hope! Does anyone know if this is possible?

There is, but only if you configure the field to allow for rich text formatting. The user would have to select the text, display the Properties toolbar, select the link tab, and enter the URL. I doubt this will work for a link to a network drive.

Adding a new field on ESS screen.

Hello Experts,
Just need a suggestion on how to a add a check box to the ESS view.
After reimporting the model basically, I want to know where do I have to edit the model bindings.
The RFC, we have added a custom field in the struchure HRBEN00_FSACONTRIB_TRANS of RFC HR_BEN_ESS_RFC_OFFER_DETAILS.
The view, I am tryign to add the field is to DetailFSAContributionView.
I just want to get little clarification on communication between view, interface controller, component controller and the model.
In a web dynpro application binding is between view -> controller n controller -> model. Looks like in the FPM application its different.
So, if anyone can let me know how to do the binding and any additional steps needed to be added to code inorder to intiate the values?

to add a check box, do it the layout if u want to do at design time,
or write code in the wdDoModifyView to create a check box if u want t o do it dynamically...
coming to the binding,
first check how the binding is done in the data modeller,
if it is view>componentcontroller->interfacecontroller
and model-->component controller,
reimport the model (as u have modified the structure)
first, apply template(service controller) to the component controller (binding takes place b/w the component controller and the model
then, bind the view to component controller and then component controller to the interface controller.

I have used Standred ESS application.After Importing the ESS application via bapi(Import the model),they have added some more additional fields in R/3 Backend. How to call those customized fields in our ESS application?

There is no specific document/book for the steps i told you....but i can list them as:
1) Goto the Models component in the Webdynpro ...right click -> create new model.
2) Specify the name of the Model as you like ....the RFC destinations...next.
3) Specify the userid and password with RFC authorization in ECC
4) Specify the name of the Function Module you want to import....and Import.
5) Goto the Fc component -> Used Models section and add the model created earlier here..
6) Goto the Fc Component -> Context Tab -> create new model nodes and attributes ...and bind them to Structure fields of the Function Module...
7) Goto the Fc Component -> Interface Controller -> create nodes and attributes ...and bind them to the attributes created earlier
8) Goto the Vc Component-> Context Tab -> create new context nodes and attributes....and bind them to the attributes in the Interface controller....make sure the Fc componentis added as a Used component in Vc.
9)Finally create UI Elements on the Detail or Review view and bind the text property of the element to the attributes created in the Vc component.

Custom ABAP Webdynpro ESS iView Navigation

Hi,
Do anyone know how we can configure the out of the box SAP Business Package ESS applications to navigate to a custom page?
Just for example, there is a button 'Create Expense Report' in 'All my Trips and Expenses' ABAP Webdynpro app (FITV_POWL_TRIPS), on click, it takes the user to the out of the box 'Create Expense Report' page. Now, if I need to configure this button to take the user to another custom page, how can I achieve that? Is there a configuration that can be changed or we need to change the code?

Hi,
This will require slight modification of webdynpro abap application.
1. Copy this web dynpro application and create a just look alike copy of it in a new package. This is done in se80 transaction. Do this only after creating a new transport package and a workbench request for it. Your basis consultant will do this.
2. Examine this button in the correspondiong view. It should contain the parameter for you url , Change this url to your required url in the same way.

Preventing Reader from Adding to Hyperlinks?

Hi,
I'm hoping someone knows how to prevent this particular action in Adobe Reader. I have to use Crystal Reprots for stats at work and, occassionally, the reports have to include hyperlinks to external files on the company network.
When I export the reports to Word, Excel or HTML the links work. However, when I export to pdf and open with Adobe Reader v9, there's extra directories added to the beginning of the hyperlink. Obviously, this makes the links point somewhere completely non-existant.
The link should point to something like \\thygh-7\ww_c_cu\cls\124589.wav but it's being amended to file:///c|/docs_and_sets/cc/\\thygh-7\ww_c_cu\cls\124589.wav by adobe reader.
It seems to be some sort of default behaviour, but I can't find anything in the options to stop it (i've already unchecked the Create Links from URLs box in Preferences).
Anyone any ideas?

What happens if you try to Option-drag the library to the EHD? The same icon?
