Adding a quiz to my website

I have a tutorial website and now I want to add an online test.I know using Captivate we can create a quiz,but we cannot embed that quiz or test in website.Is there any tool or adobe product to create a test and embed in website.

You can use form widget to create quiz with multiple fields in Muse , in case you want multi-step quiz you can use web forms if you are using Business Catalyst to host the site.
Another way would be to use any third party quiz creator and then embed in your site using the direct export code or <iframe>.

  • Adding dynamic images to your website using Dreamweaver

    Hi
    I've been working on a website which has been in use by public for some months now.
    I recently wanted to add a simple product catelogue.   I can do this just by creating my database connection and using the recordsets.
    However I wanted to add an image thumbnail to each product record.
    I found the above topic in the Adobe Help 'Adding dynamic images to your website using Dreamweaver'
    What I really would like to know is what exactly is put in the image_location field of the table, how is this field populated and then how to view the picture.
    I have tried, as per instructions, but the picture is not showing.
    I use php as I dont know coldfusion, but I'm sure the process must be pretty similar.
    If anyone can shed some light then that would be really appreciated.
    Many thanks liz

    As most anyone else will say, so I will say; *please don't
    start it
    automatically!*
    Playing music on a site is fine, but making it play
    automatically when you
    go to the site will alienate lots of people; especially those
    having a quick
    web surf at work or who have other music on whilst they're
    working.
    But back to your question; have a look at the XSPF music
    player
    http://musicplayer.sourceforge.net/).
    It comes in different visual versions
    (can modify it with a bit of Flash knowledge), allows you to
    select
    different songs or just leave it looping, or you can just
    loop one song. And
    yes, you can make it start automatically.

    I have added photos to a portfolio website I'm building and a lot of them look VERY grainy when you click on them. They are nice clean large files and can print bat high res way over 16" x 20" so whats happened to them in iWeb?

    When you are dealing with websites, image file size is a trade off between quality and download speed. There's not a lot of point to having high quality images if they take too long to download in the browser.
    Nowadays we also have to consider the device that the end user is viewing the images on. An image that is optimized for viewing on a large screen is total overkill and unsuitable for those using mobile devices.
    Really we should be supplying different versions of media files for different devices using @media rules in the stylesheet but this is rather outside of the scope of iWeb. If you use the built in image optimizer and the iWeb Photo template with slideshow, the application will optimize the images according to the way in which you set this function in preferences and the slideshow size will be automatically reduced for those viewing it on smaller screens.
    If you want to give your viewers the opportunity to view large, high quality images, you can supply them as a download.

  • Adding a Photo Gallery to website

    Does anybody know of any good, free, photo galleries that can
    be embedded/added to a website in Adobe Contribute CS3?

    Someone with a basic understanding of HTML/CSS/JS code can get the location of your images and download them, even if there is no direct way to download or save them from the site front end.
    Since the path to your image is right there in the page code somewhere, you can only make it difficult to find, but not impossible to download for internet users.
    Hope that clarifies.

  • Adding a quiz timer

    I've read some older posts about adding a timer to a quiz but never really saw a definitive way to do it. I'm using Captivate 6 and I would like to add a timer to a random question quiz which, once the time expires, it advances the user to the results slide. Is this possible? And if so, how do I go about doing it?

    Since I'm now on a laptop and can see the screenshots, I don't read that Mayank told you the timer could be used as a trigger? He just pointed to my blog post, and I'm very certain that I didn't write about that being possible.
    Timing Learning Interaction has changed name, and is now also called Timing Learning interaction. But the screenshot you are showing is definitely the one from the widget. Properties for the Timing Interaction are in the screenshot. You see that you can have an action after timeout, which is only to jump to another slide. Then you can use the On Enter of that other slide to trigger another advanced action. But you have to be aware that the jump will only occur 2 seconds after timeout to show the message. And contrary to the Timer widget, this timer interaction is mostly not starting immediately, especially if it has to be loaded on the first slide (which is to avoid).

  • Adding Company Name to Flash Website

    Hi Everyone,
    I have a question about Flash CS3. When I search for my
    website on Internet Explorer, the web site link comes up, but
    instead of the link stating "FranchelleDesigns", it says
    "Index". I tried adding my Company name to Action Script, but
    it does not work, it just gives a code error under the
    website link.
    Can anyone assist?
    Thanks in advance for your help!

    Contref,
    I apologize for that outburst. It was uncalled for and
    unprofessional of me. Please accept my apology. I will try to
    explain it another was so you might understand.
    I think your problem stems from a lack of understanding of
    the publishing process, not from an ignorance of the Flash
    development environment. That said, let me see if I can give you
    the 40,000 foot perspective.
    When working in a development environment, you work on what
    we call LOCAL FILES. These are files that reside on your computer
    or local network. When you have finished development (and sometimes
    before you finish) you do what's called PUBLISHING your documents.
    (Note that this is different than the Flash menu option Publish -
    that only compiles the FLA file into a SWF file and creates the
    HTML file). By this we generally mean you upload these files to
    some web server somewhere on the internet. To make this perfectly
    clear, this means you will have two copies of every file - one on
    your computer, and one on the internet server. When you edit the
    file on your computer and save it, unless the file is locked for
    some reason, there is no reasonable way that file will 'roll back'
    to a previous version without you being told it is happening. The
    file could be set to READ ONLY, which would prevent you from saving
    your changes, but again, you would be told that with a pop-up box.
    Hopefully this explains why some of us are so confused as to your
    problem.
    One other possible problem I can see happening is that you
    are editing the source that you get from the internet (like in your
    browser going to View => Source" and editing that file, then
    saving it and refreshing the page. What you would have to
    understand in this case is that every time you view the source and
    change it, you are viewing what's on the web server and saving your
    changes to your local computer. This is fine except that you have
    never uploaded the modified code to the web server and, thus, will
    NEVER see the changes you have made. Please note that all of this
    is done in applications outside of Flash and really doesn't have a
    place in these forums, but that's OK. We will still help you out.
    There are two ways to get pages to a web server. Some hosting
    services offer a web-based file upload application (iX Webhosting
    and MySpace photos are good examples of this). The other method is
    to use an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) program. Examples of this
    are CuteFTP, CoreFTP - but there are hundreds of these applications
    that you can use. I've only named two.
    Now, there are four files that encompass the Flash file:
    1. The FLA file. This is the un-compiled, native Flash
    document - the one you do all your editing to.
    2. The SWF file. This is the compiled Flash file that will be
    uploaded (published) to the web server.
    3. AC_RunActiveContent.js. This is a file that must be placed
    on your web server along with the SWF and HTML files. This is a
    script file that examines the users computer to determine which
    version of Flash Player has been loaded onto the users computer.
    4. The HTML file. This is the main 'page' that holds your SWF
    file. It also contains what is called Meta Data - of which the
    title of the page is a part and contained withing the <TITLE>
    </TITLE> tags.
    Now that I've covered the content, let's look at the general
    steps required to publish your page:
    1. Create your flash file and save it to your hard drive.
    2. Select Publish from the File Menu - this creates the SWF
    and HTML files and puts a copy of the AC_RunActiveContent.js in the
    directory with those other two files.
    3. Use a text editor like Notepad or UltraEdit to open the
    HTML file. This file will be in the same directory as your FLA and
    SWF files and will have the same name. Example: if your named your
    FLA file "Home.FLA", you will also see "Home.SWF" and "Home.HTML"
    4. Add the line <TITLE>My Page Title</TITLE> to
    the HTML file just below the <HEAD> tag.
    5. Save the file and exit your text editor.
    6. Open the web servers file transfer application OR your FTP
    application and log into your server.
    7. Upload the HTML, SWF and JS files to the server (making
    sure they are in the proper directories).
    8. Use your browser to view the web site.
    I think that is as plain and as detailed as I can possible
    answer your question. If that doesn't solve your problem, you need
    a better man than me. Again, I apologize for my outburst.

  • Reporting Quiz results when quiz resides on website.

    I've gone through all the previous questions, and have spent countless days with the Adobe Live Help staff but cannot get an answer.
    Please....is there any way to report- to any LMS, anywhere, alongside the quiz or on a local server, or any other configuration -  quiz results, when the quiz is on a website alongside the elearning course.
    Using Captivate 8, I've tried communicating test results to Adobe Captivate Quiz Analyzer but, according to the Adobe Live Help  it is designed to only work on a local drive not across the internet.
    Did ANYONE experience success with quiz reporting when the quiz is on a website???
    ANY suggestions, recommendation, etc would be most appreciated.
    Thanks.

    The email option for communication is likely a thing from yesteryear, when web-mail was largely unknown, as each PC had its own dedicated email "client" (such as Lotus, Outlook, et ux) to which javascript could be passed to perform the mailto: function.  Most users today (or the least, a near majority) use web-mail, and there is no mailto: functionality - thus, no use for Captivate's email option on the Success or Failure droplists.  I'll leave it to others to correct my misunderstandings ...

  • Adding Edge animation to my website background

    Hi
    I am stuck with adding the animation I made on Adobe Edge to my website background. My website background has an image which size is set to cover, to it scales according to browser window and has also fixed position.
    My goal is to get my animation instead of ths background image (animation is as simple as it can get). The best that I've managed was to get the animation on the page but it was not covering the browser windoe AND it pushed all the content that was supposed to be on it, away.
    My website is this: www.tihemetsamoto.ee/uus2013
    You can see that it the content is horizontally scrolling and the backgrond mage is fixed. That's what I like my animation to be, behind the content, fixed and cover the browser window on resize.
    PLEASE help me, Im stuck and don't know what to do
    The code from the animation html is here:
    <!DOCTYPE html>
    <html style="height:100%;">
    <head>
              <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">

    Kristina-
    There may be hope!
    In this thread:
    Hiding background animation elements that are beyond the edge stage?
    The following link was posted:
    http://sharkology.businesscatalyst.com/index.html
    I don't know for sure what they are using for a background (If you expand the browser window on their site, you will see a shark "swimming" in the background) but you might want to ask.
    I saw this in their code which made me a bit hopeful for you!

  • Adding web gallery into existing website

    Hi,
    Does anyone know if you can add/import a lightroom created web gallery into an existing webpage? I am redoing my website (originally created with Frontpage, now considering using Expression Web) and want to create photo galleries using lightroom. I know you can create the same type of gallery using Flash, however I don't want to buy a new program when I have lightroom already. I don't have enough experience with HTML to use Dreamweaver.
    Thanks!
    Nancy

    This previews just fine from Dreamweaver but when uploaded non
    of my images load. Please see www.jakgallery.com/19701979
    All I get is the circular wait icon. Thanks very much for any help you can give. It seems I am one little step away from making it work.

  • Looking for / adding a html logo to website

    Hi there,
    I'm looking for the html code for a flashing logo (ideally simulating neon) so that I can add it to my iWeb page that I am making for my music. Does anyone know if this is possible and have any advice or ideas on how I could achieve this? I'm presuming if I figure out the code then I can add it as an html snippet in iWeb.
    Thanks in advance
    Steve :o)

    A flashing logo can be anything. From a animated gif to Flash.
    HTML accomplishes nothing of that kind. You may have to use JavaScript.
    An animated gif is simple. Find or create one and use that. For Flash you need the proper object code and paste it in the HTML Snippet. [Here are some pages|http://web.mac.com/wyodor/iFrame> with an mix of codes.
    I usually browse the internet looking for website that use what I'm looking for. Then I study the code and pick what I need.
    To start, first define what it is you want to flash.

  • Adding Alternative Audio Formats to Website

    Am currently constructing a website through Dreamweaver that
    is to demonstrate new, standard and alternative internet media
    audio formats including, to mention a few: Ogg Vorbis, Windows
    Media, iTunes, MP3/MP4, Real Audio, etc.
    I am really new to this and would really appreciate any
    advice that might help.
    Is it better to link audio or embed?
    The website will be presented as an interactive CDROM so all
    files will be on the disc.
    Sorry to ask probably really obvious questions but I am

    well, my first thought isn't so much whether it's better to
    link or embed,
    but how are you going to play the various formats back? Sure,
    I may have the
    Ogg Vorbis codec on my PC but others probably don't... on the
    other hand, I
    don't do iTunes/iPod formats, but many others do. And I won't
    go near
    RealAudio. How are you going to play the files back if there
    is no
    corresponding codec/player on the system? I guess you could
    record how those
    various audio files playback on *your* system, but if you
    then put that file
    into anything other than an uncompressed WAV at a CD-quality
    sampling rate,
    the quality of that file will diminish thereby rendering the
    comparing of
    the formats kind of moot.

  • Help adding pickle player to muse website

    I'm trying to incorporate pickle player to my MUSE website and it's not working. Ive followed the instructions, downloaded, uploaded to the server, uploaded the music files (mp3) worked on the pickle player setup.html…. and when i apply the code into my "insert HTML" box in Muse- nothing happens. It's like there's nothing there.
    Plz help.
    This is the code i get-
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
    <TITLE>My Page Title</TITLE>
    <!-- Pickle Engine -->
    <script src="/pickle/pickle.js" language="javascript"></script>
    <!-- Skin -->
    <link href="/pickle/skins/small_play_Button/_stylesheet.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
    </HEAD>
    <BODY>
    <!-- DIV Container -->
    <div data-media="http://www.rayippolito.com/media/Gate_Gate.mp3"></div>
    </BODY>
    </HTML>

    I know nothing about pickle player, but looking at the code above I would expect these lines:
    <!-- Pickle Engine -->
    <script src="/pickle/pickle.js" language="javascript"></script>
    <!-- Skin -->
    <link href="/pickle/skins/small_play_Button/_stylesheet.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
    need to be copied and pasted into the <head> section in the Page Properties dialog, and only these lines
    <!-- DIV Container -->
    <div data-media="http://www.rayippolito.com/media/Gate_Gate.mp3"></div>
    should be copied and pasted into the Insert HTML... dialog, once for each media item on the page.
    Also, with the paths specified as they are above, the player will only work once the page is uploaded/published to the server (local preview in Muse or in browser won't work). You may be able to fix that by using full paths (i.e. "http://www.rayippolito.com/pickle/etc.").
