Adding dynamic images to your website using Dreamweaver

Hi
I've been working on a website which has been in use by public for some months now.
I recently wanted to add a simple product catelogue. I can do this just by creating my database connection and using the recordsets.
However I wanted to add an image thumbnail to each product record.
I found the above topic in the Adobe Help 'Adding dynamic images to your website using Dreamweaver'
What I really would like to know is what exactly is put in the image_location field of the table, how is this field populated and then how to view the picture.
I have tried, as per instructions, but the picture is not showing.
I use php as I dont know coldfusion, but I'm sure the process must be pretty similar.
If anyone can shed some light then that would be really appreciated.

As most anyone else will say, so I will say; *please don't
start it
automatically!*
Playing music on a site is fine, but making it play
automatically when you
go to the site will alienate lots of people; especially those
having a quick
web surf at work or who have other music on whilst they're
working.
But back to your question; have a look at the XSPF music
player
http://musicplayer.sourceforge.net/).
It comes in different visual versions
(can modify it with a bit of Flash knowledge), allows you to
select
different songs or just leave it looping, or you can just
loop one song. And
yes, you can make it start automatically.

Sure, if you have the requisite coding skills. Out of the box, DW has no such module.
Best advice, use a 3rd party shopping cart like PayPal or Asecurecart.net. Or purchase a DW e-commerce extension like Cartweaver. Or, use Business Catalyst to build your site (includes hosting & shopping cart module).

this is my first post here, i have created a website already using joomla (http://www.aeginamaisonettes.com)
but i would like to create a second one using dreamweaver for more styling features and possibilities, so i can have one business looking website and a more ''beautiful'' looking one.
Which product of adobe should i use? personally i am not a big fan of flash because it's not very SEF.

DW is pro-level web authoring software. For best results, you'll need a basic knowledge of web design theory, HTML, CSS, and maybe some some client-side and server-side programming languages. DW is only as good as the skills you bring to it. In addition, you'll probably want to get a good graphics editor like Photoshop or Fireworks to create images.

Dynamic Image Displays Blank When Using In Visual Studio Project

I am trying to simply display a dynamic image in a report. I am using Crystal Reports XI Release 2.
I have two different environments: Local via Progress where reports are called using Crystal Viewer ActiveX, and over the web where reports are called from Open Laszlo and Visual Studio project.
The image is set to a blank image as default, and Graphic Location Forumla loads the image from the database (site.logo_location + site.logo_filename) which results in an image http:
www.vetinfo3.com\a.jpg.
When I run the reports locally using the ActiveX control, it works just fine and displays the image.
When I run over the web using OpenLaszlo, it displays a blank.
Troubleshooting
We are using Visual Studio 2005, which is bundled with an older version of Crystal that doesn't support dynamic images.
To address this, I loaded Crystal XI Release 2, which updated the version in Visual Studio and enabled the Graphic Location formula field on the dev machine.
I verified the Graphic Location field was set correctly.
This caused a Version error, so we loaded cr_net_2005_mm_mlb_x86.zip on server and specified the Version in web.Config.
No errors now, but when I build and publish the code, the image still displays as blank.

According to issues within Visual Studio, they say the fix to this is to add the <httpHandler> in web.Config, but it is already there; added when we add the viewer to the project:
In web.Config I have some questions about this line:

I have not loaded these yet, but the readme files do not indicate they fix any dynamic image issues.
I am out of ideas on this; does anyone have any ideas?

Adding a image in webcenter spaces using Image Layout Component

Hi,
i was trying to add a image in webcenter spaces using Image Layout Component , The following steps i did
I placed some images in Webcenter server location .(c:/images)
put the folder location in Image Source ( Image Layout Component Properties) as file://c:/images/top_image.jpg
But the image did not display in WC. if i put some web url its working fine, so i just wonder whether we can point to a file location as the image source.

Tutorial Dreamweaver Cs5.5 The Missing Manual (Pg 998 - 1018) about adding dynamic data to your page

I did Tutorial: Displaying Database Info in the Missing Manual for Dreamweaver CS5.5.
My problem is with "Editing a Recordset and Linking to a Detail Page" (which starts at pg 1002:
I did this exercise ,over 5 times nowe, but every time with "Building the Detailed Product Page" at pg 1007, I get a bad result.
I only get one page (the default one with productID = 1) for every link on the indexpage.
In the adressbar (Live View) I see the right adress: for example: http://localhost/cos...hp?productID=16, but for all productID's only the detailspage for productID are shown.
There is also a message: Notice: Use of undefined constant ‘productID’ - assumed '‘productID’' in E:\xampp\htdocs\cosmo_shop\product.php on line 34
But I don't understand what could be wrong in this line.
Here is the code lines 33 -48: is is about the second line:

I can manually type in double brackets, like this:
$varProduct_rsDetails = "1";
if (isset($_GET["productID"])) {

this is accepted; no syntax-error report.
I can manually type in single brackets, like this:
$varProduct_rsDetails = "1";
if (isset($_GET['productID'])) {
$varProduct_rsDetails = $_GET['productID'];
this is also accepted; no syntax-error report.
Dreamweaver itself made this code:
$varProduct_rsDetails = "32";
if (isset($_GET[‘productID’])) {
$varProduct_rsDetails = $_GET[‘productID’];
this was not OK; there was a syntax-error report.
But strange enough, when I do paste this now from here, it is accepted.
So the problem has been, that DW created code that gave a syntax error.
I could repair it by replacing the single qoutes of DW, by typing single quotes in DW manually, or by typing in in DW manually double qoutes!!!
So maybe everybode was right!!!
But is was a very bad problem; maybe a "bug" of the program?
I repeated this about 10 times before I got the solution frome this Forum.

I got 2 minutes and 25 seconds into this tutorial and the functionality contained in the tutorial simply does not exist on my copy of DW.
There are only about 5 modules available and the site admin seems to have about 5% of the functionality listed in the tutorial.

Hello, everyone. I have been making a Comic Viewer in C#, and I'm stumped on how to actually load the comics. I installed HtmlAgilityPack
and I have the XPath for the image I need, so I did some research and added the following code:

As far as I know, Use the //img[@src] as XPath in selectNodes will work.

After get the image Value, you should convert it to image in order to show in
pictureBox1 control.

Saving images from a website using macbook

I need to save an image from a specific website when I right click on the image (control click) a menu pops up with the following options:
Settings....
Global settings...
About adobe flash player
It also does not work to simply slide the image to my desktop.

It sounds like the image isn't simply an image, but is really Flash content. I'd recommend taking a screenshot (see this post for details on how to do this depending on your OS) if you can't get to the original jpg/png/gif/etc.

I added this element to the screen and asked to enter a source to the image. When I entered a URL to an image on my desktop and saved the form I couldn't open the form anymore (not in the editor and not on "run" mode). So, I couldn't enter the form and delete the URL that caused the problem and my form was lost.

How can I delete the URL that causes this error in order to save my form and avoid building it from the beginning?
What URL should I put in this field in order that this WD component will display the image on the FPM form?

Adding dynamic image?

I have an movie clip in my Library linked to an external
class, "ProductBubble". It is a circle that is supposed to have a
product image in it.
I have dragged 6 of these to the stage and named the
instances. In my document class, I am loading an XML file and am
assigning data to properties of my ProductBubble instances such as
"link", "price" etc. So far so good.
What I also need to have in each ProductBubble instance is an
image of the product, whose path is also in the XML. In Flex, which
I am more experienced with, I create an "image" placeholder and
then assign the string from the XML file to its "source" property.
How do I create an "image placeholder" for this purpose in my
Flash movie clip? Thanks.
P.S.: I think of creating an image in the movie clip since
the image needs to be masked, so in a non-dynamic project my movie
clip would have an image on a layer and a circle on the layer above
as a mask.

I suspect this will require a phone case. get a technician to do a webex, repro and see if this is a bug. Another option would be to download CR 2008 eval and see if it resolves the issue.

Adding search files on your website

Hi, I have a temp folder where I keep files and I want to
make those files searchable on my index and on any other of my
sites that are stored on the server. In other words, if someone
comes to my site, I want to have a search window where they can
search the files I keep in my temp folder on the server. Is there a

Do you have a search tool now and just need to figure out how
to search the temp folder? Is the temp folder located within the
site or is it above the site(s) root? What type of file are

My Links and External Links wont work on my page. Using Dreamweaver CS4

I have followed all the instructions for adding external links to my website using Dreamweaver CS 4. I cannot click on any of the links in the body of my pages, even on my sitemap page my internal links dont work. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I have looked online for a resolution to this problem and not finding any new information.
