Adding an attachment to expenses

Hi all-
We are implementing Travel and Expense in ECC 6.0 / EP 7 and have a requirement to attach a scanned image of an expense receipt to the expense report, which will land as an attachment in the ECC system when the expense report is approved through workflow.
Does anybody have recemmend a good means of accomplishing this?

Working sample code:
--- Code starts here ---
set {tTo, tSender, tSubject, tContent, tFile} to {"[email protected]", "Server <[email protected]>", "Testing", "text", "HD1:Users:a:Desktop:someFile.txt"}
delay 5
repeat until (number of paragraphs in (do shell script "ping -c 1 google.com; echo -n")) > 5
end repeat
delay 1
tell application "Mail"
activate
set nMessage to make new outgoing message with properties {sender:tSender, subject:tSubject, content:(tContent & return & return)}
tell nMessage
make new to recipient at end of to recipients with properties {address:tTo}
tell content to make new attachment with properties {file name:(tFile as alias)} at after last paragraph
end tell
send nMessage
end tell
--- Code ends here ---
Also, entering 'attachment' into the 'Search Discussions' search field will produce links to additional code and / or suggestions.

  • Manually adding an attachment to FND tables

    I know that there have been a few posts that outline how to handle adding an attachment to FND tables but I have an additional question.
    I have an trigger on each of the following four tables that captures all data when uploading an attachment when creating/viewing a service request (short & long text as well):
    FND_LOBS
    FND_DOCUMENTS
    FND_DOCUMENTS_TL
    FND_ATTACHED_DOCUMENTS
    I need to move the captured data into a different database and I'm wondering if it's possible to not use any Oracle APIs when inserting and updating data to the other database.
    Thanks

    Its possible with the exception that it will be unsupported (your triggers are unsupported anyway).

  • Replying to an email while adding an attachment? ***?

    Maybe I am being obtuse, but when I try to reply to an email and want to include an attachement with my reply, why is there no option to do this? This seems like a farily BASIC funtion of any email program. I hope I am missing something, because if the iPhone can't do something as basic as this... Man, its got serious problems.
    I'm already annoyed that it doesn't allow you to save attachments onto the phone itself in a file tree, but to not be able to reply to someone's e-mail with a saved attachment (whether it be a pic, doc, pdf, etc...)
    (Example: "Hey what was the name of that restaurant we were at tonight? Also, can you send me that pic we took at the table?")
    As of now, I have to find that picture, tell it I want to compose a NEW email, then answer the question in the body of the email. Why couldn't you just "reply" attach the photo in question, and answer the email like you would any other email (that didn't require an attachment?)
    This seems extremely short-sighted on Apple's part.. I mean, come on -- even a Blackberry has these basic functions.
    Am I wrong, or are they missing something really basic here?

    Thanks for the workaround... Not ecxactly the most efficient way to do something as basic as reply and adding an attachment, but it does work.
    For the life of me, I don't understand why you can't save items to a personal folder on the hard drive, which you can then access whenever you need to. I think Apple makes thing WAY more complicated then they need to be.

  • When adding an attachment, the files I see in the finder-screen are not up to date

    I want to attach a file to a new message. When I attach it via the button in het message-screen a finder screen will open. The files in here are not up to date. For example, a just added file is not visible. When I brouwse to the same folder by using the Finder itself at this time I will see the up-to-date files and can add them to the message by using drag and drop. So, I have found a solution but I still think this is a bug.
    See both screenshots, one is the folder "3 metingen" in the Thunderbird finder screen. the second is the same shown in Finder. More and accuate files are visible in Finder.
    Thanks for your time.
    Rogier.

    Both are OSX windows. Thunderbird just asks the operating system to open a windows of that type, so why the operating system would offer up such weirdness I have no idea. Under windows F5 forces and update, I wonder if it does on OSX?

  • Adding an attachement to "mailto" command

    I have recently undertaken a project for a client by
    designing a digital business card. The client wants to add a "mail
    this page to a friend" on each of the catalogue pages. This would
    entitle users to send spesific images on pages to friends. Problem
    "mailto:" tutorials do not cover adding attachements to the email
    or generating that specific page into a file that can either be
    attached or placed inside the "body" of the email. I cannot attach
    a link since the business card would not be viewed online with a
    "URL". Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
    Yours faithfully
    Damsel in distress....

    You could make an Excel like table in Flash and place it into a movieclip which you then place in a scrollpane component to realize the scrollling you desire, though you might not enjoy the amount of work you will need to get the table together.  It would involve manually planting rows of textfields for each set of records in the table.  It could be done using Actionscript if you have your table's data  in a form you can read it from as data.
    As far as using something else, I don't know what the purpose/goal is so I cannot say.  If you can live with an html rendered version, then I would say a plain ole web page should suffice... let the browser provide the scrolling.

  • Mail shuts down when adding an attachment

    Afteer upgrading to Maveric I do have the following issue. When I open Mail and write an E-Mail and then add an attachment (no matter what file type). Mail shuts immediately down. When opening Mail again, luckily the written E-Mail is still there, but still no attachment is attached. Currently I do send plenty of dropbox links instead as this can be added without any problems. Is there a way to fix this issue?
    At least I know see the file preview in Mail again. Which wasn't possible for years with lion :-)

    That happens to me all the tiem. I don't try anymore because I guess Mail just doesn't take large files like that. You should try sending it from your email provider on it's website, as you would without Mail or Outlook Express.

  • Adding an attachment to a BPEL process instance

    Hi
    Is it possible to add an attachment (say a word/pdf doc) to an instance, where the document is obtained from a webservice (say as a binary content in web service)?
    Thanks
    SAtinder

    In our application, an attachment surfaces in the middle of the lifecycle, but not from the start.
    We were using the following to accommodate the attachment as the part of the payload ...
    <xsd:element name="AttachementMimeType" type="xsd:string"/>
    <xsd:element name="AttachmentMIMEStream" type="xsd:string"/>
    Hope this helps.

  • Adding Word attachment to a SOFM object and then to Workflow container

    Hi!
    I have a Web Dynpro for ABAP application that should send attachments of uploaded files to a workflow container. I have already managed to do this, and it works fine for TXT files, but when I try to attach a WORD (.DOC) file the file looks corrput when I open it from the SAP inbox.
    When uploading files in Web Dynpro it is as an XSTRING.  I have tried out the following alternatives regarding convertion of the XSTRING before it is inserted in the SOFM object:
    1) Convert from XSTRING to STRING using codepage 4110.
    Then it is split into a string table of 255 chars
    2) Convert from XSTRING to STRING using codepage 4102
    Then it is split into a string table of 255 chars
    3) Convert from XSTRING to BINARY format
    I use function module 'SWL_SOFM_CREATE_WITH_TABLE'
    and then  swf_create_object lr_sofm 'SOFM' ls_sofm_key.
    before I call some macros to fill the container.
    Anyone else who have tried to do this with success? I'm greatful for any help.
    Regards, Tine

    Hello there.
    This is probably an usability question that you should ask Microsoft, not us. In any case, you probably need to open the document (it's probably a document that can't be open inside Firefox, so use the appropriate software) and copy it from there.
    I'm sorry I can't be of more help.

  • How prevent shared folders to be added as attachment in apple mail?

    All,
    The thing just happend. One of the network users wrote a new mail (in apple's mail app) and instead of attaching one file, the user by accident double clicked the shared folder, and mail started attaching the 8.1 Gb folder. This never happend before and I like to prevent this. Should I go to server admin>afp>sharepoints? And unshare the folder? But are they still able accessing the files?
    Help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Harry

    Your current approach will not likely work, as there is no means to selectively set permissions for an application in the fashion that would be required here.
    You'd need not only need indication of and the involvement of the active mail client, you'd also need some way to deal with either the specific type of data involved or the specific quantity involved, and I don't know of any means of communicating that across the mail client and the security system. (Blocking all access to Shared files is easy. Blocking just mail attachments? Not so easy.
    I can't think of a way that would work here with a typical access control list (ACL) implementation scheme (Mac OS X has decent ACL support), short of a whole lot of kernel customizations or something like a programmable sending-related trigger scheme within mail, and AFAIK, there are no "outbound" rules within Apple mail client.
    And is this case hunting fleas with anvils? (read: Something that's possible, but a whole lot of work.) How often does this particular case arise? If it's happening frequently and is not being addressed by some targeted training, then you probably don't really have a technical problem, you probably have a personnel and/or managerial problem here, and those don't lend themselves to technical fixes.
    To pursue the maximum message size within the Microsoft Exchange product, then you have an Exchange qustion and not a Mac OS X (Server or client) question.
    I don't run Microsoft Exchange servers, so I have no particular familiarity with the settings and options of that product. Based on some quick Googling, have a read of Microsoft's [Understanding Message Size Limits|http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124345.aspx] as a start, or Google around for the details of whatever version of Exchange is in use here.

  • Adding an attachment to e-mail

    We have setup e-mails to users when data has been loaded via FDM, but are looking to attach the source load file to the e-mail. Has anyone done this and if so what additions needed to be made to the generic e-mail accelarator script?

    Because of MultiLoad's poor performance with large files, I instead use a customized configuration to process multi-period files as though they were single period FDM submissions. So, the following is a guess. If it doesn't work, I'll have to defer to the other FDM forum posters.
    Try this in the MultiLoadAction script:
    If LCase(strEventName) = "aftcopyfiles" Then
         strFile = RES.PcolScriptInfo.Item("ScriptInfo").ColFlds.Item("FilePath").varValue
         '...eMail strFile to user...
    End IfIn your case, AftCopyFiles may not be the correct Event for eMailing the source file. Refer to the API Object Guide's MultiLoad (Text 12 Period) Firing Order section to find the appropriate Event. Keep in mind that the FilePath variable may not be available in all MultiLoad Events. There is a table at the beginning of the Event Model Firing Order chapter that details the variables available during each sequence.

  • Adding an attachment in gmail

    am i missing something here? i cant find a link anywhere in the gmail mobile version (the one youre taken to when you go to gmail.com on your playbook) that lets me add an attachment to an email. i cant even force the basic html version of gmail and do it through that. tell me that my playbook is not absolutely useless as a work device. thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Here's the way to do it: when seeing your list of e-mail messages, on the left column, on the gmail website, scroll that list all the way down . At the bottom, you'll see several links. One of them says "basic html". Click on it.
    Now the old gmail looks appear, and if you click on Compose Mail you'll get an attachment link.
    Alternatively, click on "desktop", instead of basic html, and you'll see your gmail just like on your computer.
