Adding an html comment causes entire table to disappear in CC Design view

Doing some tweaks to a page in the html editor in DW CC and adding a simple comment  causes the extensive table beneath it to disappear from the design view pane. But the html is still there in the html editor and the page still appears correctly in a browser. Refresh Design View does nothing. At first I kept Undo'ing it to get back to where I was before adding the comment. Then I thought maybe if I saved the doc after adding the comment it would refresh correctly, but it didn't. Quitting and rebooting DW doesnt help.
What gives? Now the Design view table is gone. I can't work like this, without seeing the page I'm working on...
I can make this same thing happen over and over - which seems to indicate a bug in DW CC...
I know you pro's are anti-tables but I'm stuck with tables right now...

Ok I understand about dl'ing files, np. Heres the page in progress: {link temporarily removed} with 2 duplicate table elements below the first, one in the center I was adjusting/adding comment DW has disappeared, the other at bottom intact for backup. Here's what the disappeared version looks like in DW:

The layout is simple and DW shouldn't prevent me from doing this: I know it could be done with div's and CSS but I'm not going to practice and perfect that for this right now, its already torture enough using DW for this simple thing. It needs to stay as nested tables.
Despite any method of working - adding a comment should not create this hassle.

Table borders in Dreamweaver cs4 design view too big, I would like to have a single line for tables

Hi All,
I design email templates using only tables but the design view options in cs4 only provide a huge 3px border in order to display the tables. In older versions of macromedia etc the table view is only 1px wide which makes designing a whole lot easier.
When I add tables within tables it adds more spacing and looks way off and it also looks off in browsers, causing me to have to increase and decrease padding sure this is no way to create table even if they have no borders and the table width is already fixed?
I have tried turning borders off in visual aids but there is no option to have just a single line to demonstrate a border!!
I can't work like this, can anybody help me or is this just the way borders are displayed in cs4 for the pc???

Hi Guys, thanks for getting back to me.
the problem is purely about design view display and not about coding.
Below is how CS4 displays borders with two lines which I find difficult to decipher:
Then below is Macromedia DM 8 and this how I want the borders to look, with single lines to display the tables.
This may just be the way Abobe have decided to display tables in design view and there may not be any option to change it but if you know any way to change it I would be most greatful.

im using dreamweaver 4 and usualy you can see all the tables
youve created in design view but i dont know if iv changed a
setting by accident but now the main outside table is showing but
every other one is invisible. all the content within the tables is
appearing but not the tables. i split the cell of a table and have
to roll the mouse around to try find where the divide is so i can
drag it cos i cant see anything.

JDev 10.1.3.3.0: How to include an HTML comment in a JSPX page

When adding an HTML comment to a JSPX file, it automatically gets stripped out before being rendered to the browser.
How do I write a comment to the browser for diagnostic purposes (to figure out where something gets rendered in the HTML).

Display Html screen, design view and CSS screen at the same time ?

Hello everyone !
Well this is my problem :
I am on a Dual Screen monitor, in one screen i have the ''code inspector'' to view my html code and the second screen i have the Design view.
Problem is, i hate switching always my tabs when I need to work on my Html and my CSS.
I was wondering if anyone found a way to display, i don't know maybe 2 code inspector or simply find a way to split the screen so I can see html and css at the same time ?

If you're using Dreamweaver CS4, this is very easy. View the HTML in the Code Inspector, and have Vertical Split view in the main Document window. In the Related Files toolbar, select the stylesheet.

Removing HTML Comments from an entire website

Hi, I wonder if there is a simpler way to remove 'HTML Comments' from an entire website without having to use the regular expression '  ' using Find & Replace in DW 8? Many thanks, Simon

Robohelp HTML 9 hyperlinks in table cells help

Hi,
I'm creating a table in robohelp html 9 and adding hyperlinks in the table cells. If the hyperlink is the first word in that cell robohelp is adding styling code to the link eg <td><a href="#" style="color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline; ">test</a></td>.
If I add a link to the second word in a table cell the styling does not appear or even if I add a space before the link the code does not appear eg <td> <a href="#">test</a> </td>.
The code appears when I flick between design and HTML views but it does not make any difference in which view I create the link.
No matter how many times I delete this code is keeps coming back. Can anyone please help me? Is there some default that gives this the styling code?Does anyone else get this issue?
A table with the different examples is below. It was created in design view by clicking table>insert table>OK. Links added by clicking the insert hyperlink button.

I have the same problem with those stupid links in tables - I've been working on this for HOURS and HOURS...... Based on previous experience, I assumed it must only be me and an ill-formed stylesheet. The table/link issue just came to my attention because I am in the process of changing styles/formats to a new company standard (new link color) and thought I really screwed my CSS up as I was changing things!
My only workaround thusfar has been to rewrite some data in the tables so that text will precede the link (yes, I did). And where I just couldn't do that, I resigned myself to the problem and forced a different color on the links (changing the #0000ff). One plus was that RH didn't rewrite the color code once it was changed manually..... but then I realized later that I didn't consider the hover color when I did this, so I now have to go back and correct them.

I played with the idea of adding hidden text, but was worried that the problem was really a result of an issue with my CSS and doing that wasn't the proper way to fix it.   So, without guilt, I took Rick's suggestion and added an invisible dot/period at the beginning of every link in a table, when that link is the first or only content in the td. Did the trick! Now the links assume my declared css style!

Downloading Entire Table to MS Access

Hi Gurus,
We are able to do download small amount of data successfully but the problem is with huge volume of data say for millions of records we can't read and store it in internal table as it is exceeding the memory and eventually going for dump.
If we use cursor or field symbols then if inside loop if we call that MS Access download FM the it is doing a database commit operation and that is closing the cursor. In the next run of the loop, it is going for run time error as commit inside loop throws run time exception in ABAP environment.
Looking for your help in this issue.

CF on server adding an /html tag to doc!

Hi all,
I'm not sure what the culprit is here. I'm looking at a file
on my localhost that renders fine. But when I push it to my live
server, it's got a big break between the header and body content
(which is a .cfm template include).
As far as I can tell, the problem is that the javascript
added on the server by CF is adding a </html> tag to the very
beginning of my file, causing the break.

You can use the ~no_its_header parameter to deactivate the default
header that is generated. As soon as this parameter contains any value,
header generation is suppressed. In ITS 6.20, you can set the parameter
with the AdminTool. You will find the relevant switch under

How do you sort the entire table in numbers with OSX Maverick?

Before the upgrade of Numbers 3.0 & Maverick, you use to sort the enire table by (1) Highlighting the entire table, (2) using the drop down arrow in the columns, (3) select the option to set your sort requirements.
Now, I am not able to find a way to do this.

The application auto-saves your input when you close the document. If you left the document, as you state, the notes/comments should have been saved and should have been visible the next time you opened the document with the Mobile Reader (note that if you are opening the document with another app such as Apple's built in PDF Viewer, things like notes/comments may not be visible). Also note that if you are doing an Open In... from another app (like Dropbox), the version of the document in Dropbox does not update; only the version of the document in the Mobile Reader is updated.

there is a syntax error,

Again you have asked to move to a diffrent table. What is that table and how to build it.
