Adding CDATA To every element in xml _ JDOM

Hi,
I need to parse xml using JDOM and add
CDATA to every element.
Could anyone help me in that ?
When I append CDATA using org.jdom.Element.setText("<!CDATA"+Mystring +"" );
CDATA has been treated like text but not as an instruction .

Question: Please see the code below.............
I am copying a text which is in Hindi(DBWT-yogesh font) in JTextPane. When I am trying to retrieve hindi text from JTextpane using getText() I am obtaining hashampersand123,hashampersand156(hashsymbol,ampsymbol,123;like that ) some thing like this.
If I dont set contentType to text/html and use getText()
I obtain some junk characters. If I copy those junk characters in xml
and view the xml with notepad and change the font to DBWT-yogesh
I can see hindi text.
I need to setContentType to html because I want to display text
as bold or italic depending on html tags in content. when I use getText() I obtain some thing like this. If I store these characters even after changing font to DBWT-Yogesh I am not able to see hindi text.
I want to convert (hashsymbol,ampsymbol,123;like that ) to junk characters so that when I change font using notepad I must be able to see hindi text.
Please provide help............................. your earlier answer took me in the right direction.

• How to pass a xml CDATA in string element when OSB calling a webservice?

How to pass a xml CDATA in string element when OSB calling a webservice?
I have a business service (biz) that route to operation of a webservice.
A example of request to this webservice legacy:
<soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:eg="example">
<soapenv:Header/>
<soapenv:Body>
<ex:execute>
<ex:arg><searchCustomerByDocumentNumber>
<documentNumber>12345678909</documentNumber>
</searchCustomerByDocumentNumber></ex:arg>
</ex:execute>
</soapenv:Body>
</soapenv:Envelope>
the type of ex:arg is a string.
How to pass this CDATA structure to webservice in OSB?

Steps to solve this problem:
1. Create a XML Schema. E.g.:

<xs:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
elementFormDefault="unqualified">
<xs:complexType name="searchCustomerByDocumentNumber">
<xs:sequence>
<xs:element name="documentNumber" minOccurs="0">
<xs:annotation>
<xs:documentation>
</xs:documentation>
</xs:annotation>
<xs:simpleType>
<xs:restriction base="xs:string" />
</xs:simpleType>
</xs:element>
</xs:sequence>
</xs:complexType>
<xs:element name="searchCustomerByDocumentNumber" type="searchCustomerByDocumentNumber"></xs:element>
</xs:schema>
With this XSD, the XML can be generate:

<searchCustomerByDocumentNumber xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="searchCustomerByDocumentNumber.xsd">
<documentNumber>documentNumber</documentNumber>
</searchCustomerByDocumentNumber>
2. Create a XQuery to create a searchCustomerByDocumentNumber ComplexType. E.g.:
(:: pragma bea:global-element-return element="searchCustomerByDocumentNumber" location="searchCustomerByDocumentNumber.xsd" ::)
declare namespace xf = "http://tempuri.org/NovoSia/CreateSearchCustomerByDocumentNumber/";
declare function xf:CreateSearchCustomerByDocumentNumber($documentNumber as xs:string)
as element(searchCustomerByDocumentNumber) {
<searchCustomerByDocumentNumber>
<documentNumber>{ $documentNumber }</documentNumber>
</searchCustomerByDocumentNumber>
declare variable $documentNumber as xs:string external;
xf:CreateSearchCustomerByDocumentNumber($documentNumber)
3. In your stage in pipeline proxy add a assign calling the XQuery created passing the document number of your payload.
Assign to a variable (e.g.: called searchCustomerByDocumentNumberRequest)
4. Create another XQuery Transformation (XQ) to create a request to the webservice legacy. E.g.:
<ex:arg>{fn-bea:serialize($searchCustomerByDocumentNumberRequest)}</ex:arg>
For more information about xquery serialize function:
41.2.6 fn-bea:serialize()
You can use the fn-bea:serialize() function if you need to represent an XML document as a string instead of as an XML element. For example, you may want to exchange an XML document through an EJB interface and the EJB method takes String as argument. The function has the following signature:
fn-bea:serialize($input as item()) as xs:string

Use the xquery function fn-bea:inlinedXML rather than fn-ben:serialize
Steps to solve this problem:
1. Create a XML Schema. E.g.:

<xs:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"

fn-bea:inlinedXML($searchCustomerByDocumentNumberResponse/ns0:arg)
For more information about xquery function:
fn-bea:inlinedXML
The fn-bea:inlinedXML() function parses textual XML and returns an instance of the XQuery 1.0 Data Model.
The function has the following signature:
fn-bea:inlinedXML($text as xs:string) as node()*
where $text is the textual XML to parse.
Examples:
fn-bea:inlinedXML(“<e>text</e>”) returns element “e”.
fn-bea:inlinedXML(“<?xml version=”1.0”><e>text</e>”) returns a document with root element “e”.

• NS0 namespace in every element after mapping

Hi All,
We have a scenario IDOC --> XML file on a file share. I created a free style data type for the XML message and the mapping objects. When I test the message mapping, every XML element gets the ns0 namespace before the tagname. The namespace prefix is ok to be mentioned on a root level, but not with every element. Can we configure something that this behavior is not occuring anymore?
Example current result:

<ns0:OrderCreateNotification xmlns:ns0="urn:mc-nl:procurement:boras:boras">
<ns0:OrderNumber>4550000037</ns0:OrderNumber>
<ns0:DocumentDate>20140722</ns0:DocumentDate>
<ns0:OrderItem>
<ns0:ItemNumber>00001</ns0:ItemNumber>
<ns0:Unit>ST</ns0:Unit>
<ns0:Quantity>100.000</ns0:Quantity>
<ns0:NettPrice>10000</ns0:NettPrice>
<ns0:PurchaseRequisitionItemNumber>00000</ns0:PurchaseRequisitionItemNumber>
<ns0:TaxRate>21.00</ns0:TaxRate>
</ns0:OrderItem>
</ns0:OrderCreateNotification>
I expected to have it like this:

<ns0:OrderCreateNotification xmlns:ns0="urn:mc-nl:procurement:boras:boras">
<OrderNumber>4550000037</OrderNumber>
<DocumentDate>20140722</DocumentDate>
<OrderItem>
<ItemNumber>00001</ItemNumber>
<Unit>ST</Unit>
<Quantity>100.000</Quantity>
<NettPrice>10000</NettPrice>
<PurchaseRequisitionItemNumber>00000</PurchaseRequisitionItemNumber>
<TaxRate>21.00</TaxRate>
</OrderItem>
</ns0:OrderCreateNotification>
With the data type it is possible to define the property "qualify schema", but it doesn't seem to do anything.
I know of the possibility to use the XML Anonimizer module, but I was hoping that we can configure this in a standard way.
kind regards,
Mark

Hi All,
Issue was solved by defining the value "None" in the Qualify Schema option + reimporting the message types into the message mapping after making the Qualify Schema change. The XML structures didn't got refreshed automatically.
Everything is working normally now with the ns prefix only on root level.

• How to include the first row of detail in every xquery transformed xml?

I am dealing with a XML file,where i need to publish to different BS.
First node will be a common node node which contains vital info,second node goes to one BS and third goes to another BS.
*

*
*<details></details> (they are unbounded, but the first detail tag which comes in the input file is a mandatory tag in such a way that it needs to be included in every transformed message)*
*<trailer></trailer>*
We need to apply x query transformation on it in such a way:
*

*
*<1st detail></1st detail>*
*<detail></detail> (2nd row of detail in input file)* -------------------------> Goes to BS1
*<trailer></trailer>..*
*

*
*<1st detail></1st detail>*
*<detail></detail> (3rd row of detail in input file)* ----------------------------->Goes to BS2
*<trailer></trailer>*..
And so on.
Now, the problem is how to include the first row( *1st detail* ) of detail in every xquery transformed xml?

are you looping of this input with a for each?
/yourdata/details[1] should return always the first detail element.
or before the for each do an assing of this first detail element to "generic_details_var"
and use this var in every looping iteration (in an assign or as input for xquery)

• Schema Validation on attributes of an element in XML againt XSD schema

Hi,
I had generated artifact java classes from XSD schema file.Now i am validatiing one sample XML document by using these classes in JAXB.The XML document is validated successfully.but only elements are validated ,but not attributes of that elements.for example ,i am giving wrong element which is not defined inside the schema file,it throws validation error as expected ,whereas validation against wrong attributes of elements in XML it is not working anyway,it does not throw any validation errors,but it should throw validation errors.kindly help me to solve this issue.
Here The sample validation code snippets :
import javax.xml.bind.ValidationEvent;
import javax.xml.bind.ValidationEventHandler;
import javax.xml.bind.ValidationEventLocator;
public class MyEventHandler implements ValidationEventHandler{
public boolean handleEvent(ValidationEvent ve) {
if (ve.getSeverity()==ValidationEvent.FATAL_ERROR ||
ve .getSeverity()==ValidationEvent.ERROR){
ValidationEventLocator locator = ve.getLocator();
//Print message from valdation event
System.out.println("Invalid booking document: "
+ locator.getURL());
System.out.println("Error: " + ve.getMessage());
//Output line and column number
System.out.println("Error at column " +
locator.getColumnNumber() +
", line "
+ locator.getLineNumber());
return true;
Unmarshaller unmarshaller = jc.createUnmarshaller();
unmarshaller.setEventHandler(new MyEventHandler());

Here is my analagous 'strange' behavior. I am jaxb processing and then marshalling generated classes to XML ( following the simple Sun 'PurchaseOrder' example )
1. This works:
<xsd:schema....>
<xsd:complextType name = "myName">
<xsd:attribute name='name1'>
</xsd:complextType>
</xsd:schema>
2. This doesn't:
<xsd:schema....>
<xsd:complextType name = "myName">
<xsd:attribute name='name1'/>
<xsd:attribute name='name2'/>
</xsd:complextType>
</xsd:schema>
That is, using more than one attribute line within this simple complex type causes nothing to be marshalled to XML.
Ideas?

• Transforming certain elements of xml-doc to bytearray representing xml?

I have a xml-file like this.

<Family>
<Person>

<Nick>Mom</Nick>
</Person
<Person>

<Nick>Dad</Nick>
</Person>
</Family>I am interested in fetching all the Person-elments, make them into separate xml-document like this.

<Person>

<Nick>Mom</Nick>
</PersonThe Person-elements are collected using JDOM (ElementFilter("Person")). Afterwords I want to transform the xml-documents to byte arrays. The xml-documents shall never be written to file.
I am a bit sure on how to procede after I have fetched the Person-elements. I want them into an xml-document, and then I think convert the documents to a bytearray?
Does anyone have suggestions on how to get this done:
1) How to make each of the elements into a xml-document?
2) How to get the xml-document to a byte-array, via a String?
And, does this approach sound crazy, is there an obvious solution I am not seeing?

No, generally, serialization means outputting to a network or file or database (e.g., going from object to stream). There is java.io.Serializable which serializes to Java's custom format. However, you can also serialize out as XML.
public final class DomSerializer extends Object {
// Class Variables //
private static final TransformerFactory factory;
// Constructors //
static {
try {
factory = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
catch (TransformerFactoryConfigurationError fatal) {
throw new ConfigurationError("Unable to create XSLT transformer factory", fatal);
private DomSerializer() {
super();
// Public Methods //
public static final void serialize(final Document target, final OutputStream out) {
Transformer transformer = createTransformer();
try {
transformer.setOutputProperty(OutputKeys.INDENT, "yes");
transformer.transform(new DOMSource(target), new StreamResult(out));
catch (TransformerException e) {
throw new SerializationError("Error serializing DOM document", e);
public static final String serialize(final Document target) {
ByteArrayOutputStream byteOut = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
serialize(target, byteOut);
return new String(byteOut.toByteArray());
// Private Methods //
private static Transformer createTransformer() {
try {
Transformer transformer = factory.newTransformer();
transformer.setOutputProperty(OutputKeys.INDENT, "Yes");
return transformer;
catch (TransformerConfigurationException fatal) {
throw new ConfigurationError("Unable to create a new XSLT transformer", fatal);

• How to edit xml using jdom

hi
how to read and edit xml file using jdom, i tried using
javax.xml.transform.*; // JAXP
javax.xml.transform.dom.DOMSource; //
i can read xml file . but iam not able to edit the xml file.
how to achive this

1. Select nodes to be modified with the JDom XPath class selectSingleNode and selectNodes methods.
SAXBuilder saxBuilder=new SAXBuilder("org.apache.xerces.parsers.SAXParser");
org.jdom.Document jdomDocument=saxBuilder.build(new File("c:/input.xml"));

• Adding CDATA to an existing xml and flash asset

Hi, I am a front end web designer/developer and
analyst...struggling with putting an accordian flash xml menu
together. I have it done except I need to add a simple trademark
symbol circle with r. I am struggling with how to do this since I
am not savvy in actioncript. I assume the best way is to add it is
with a CDATA child node, but do not know how or whatever is the
best way to get this done since am on a tight deadline. I need
someone to explain step by step what I have to do to get this
simple addition resolved. Attached are the links to home page and
code for the xml file. The left navigation is the asset that I need
to add the trademark symbol under about, about ADHERE. Thanks so
much in advance!!!!!!

Please don't cross-post in a bunch of forums. Also when
adding code to a post, please use the attach code button. That
keeps the formatting and makes it easier to read. Your code is far
too long and way to unformatted to really understand quickly.
I don't know why you would need a CDATA node to get the
registered symbol. If the XML file you are working with is saved as
unicode (UTF-8) the symbol should come across just fine. Just
putting the UTF-8 at the beginning doesn't tell whatever program
you are using to save as UTF-8!
Do you know how to make the registered symbol? On windows it
is ALT -0174 (use the keypad for those numbers).
Once you've got the symbol in your XML the next step is to
check if Flash is loading it correctly. When you are in the testing
environment go to the Debug menu and select List Variables. The
trace window will show all the variables -- and there are probably
a lot! Search/Find something close to the symbol and see if the
trace window shows the symbol correctly. If it does then Flash is
readying it correctly and if it isn't showing you have problems
with your textfield. If it isn't showing correctly then your XML
file isn't UTF-8.
If it is textfield problems I wouldn't know what to do since
it is inside a component. Post back with your findings.
