Adding Exchange account to official 2.1 OS

I was on the beta 2.1 os for a few months, and did not have any issues with my EAS account. The morning of the upgrade, I was able to send and receive emails on my EAS account on my PB. I then upgraded to the official 2.1 os. After the upgrade my EAS account showed active but no data was syncing. To troubleshoot, I then deleted my account and tried to re-add...in hindsight I was impatient, as you'll see later. I have yet to get my EAS account added back.
My wife has a PB also. This pb was also on the 2.1 beta os. To verify, I added my EAS account to this pb, and no problems...all good. I then performed the upgrade to the official 2.1 os. Same behavior....my EAS account showed active but no data was syncing. This time tho, due to other posters, I waited as some ppl were saying it could take 15 minutes. Well, I waited over an hour, but finally I had data! So this proved to me that EAS will work on the official 2.1. So I decided to remove it and see if I could re-add it. nada. I get the same results on this second pb as well. Whether I just input my email addr and password, and let the pb to the autoconfiguration, or if I input the information under advanced, the pb will flash for a second "Checking for supported services and policy information", then immediately display the message "The settings for your account are incorrect. Change your settings and try again.". It doesn't appear to be hitting the network at all.
I even did a security wipe to see if there was something wrong. Unfortunately, it would not let me setup my account during the setup process, as it wouldn't let me get around doing the upgrade.
So, is anyone able to ADD an account on the official 2.1 OS? Is anyone willing to remove their account and see if they can re-add it? LOL.

  • Correct settings for adding Exchange account in Mail

    I have successfully added an exchange account to my iPhone. However, to add the same account to Mail there different, additional settings that I cannot seem to get right.
    the details I entered into my phone are as follows (please excuse the xxx's but I thought it best not to publish the full details of how to access my server!)
    server: arexxx1.axxxring.com
    domain: axxxring.local
    username: daniel
    password: xxxxxx
    the settings that are required to add an exchange account to mail are:
    incoming mail server
    username
    password
    outlook web access server
    outgoing mail server
    can anyone advise me how the settings I entered into my iphone might apply to the fields in Mail or if it is even possible.
    I am using os x 10.5.8 and exchange 2003.

    Obviously you know your username and password so all you should require is the incoming and outgoing mail server addresses which you can obtain from the domain IT people who provide the Exchange account. I am not sure what the outlook web access server address is, but your IT people should know.

    hy everybody...
    I added an Exchange Account to my iPhone.
    The iPhone asked me if i wanted to sync the contacts...
    Now i have several doublets... how can i see from where they're coming from... or can i just keep the one's i want and
    then Exchange and iPhone will anyway be synchronised?

    I was having this same issue and saw your post, I think I fixed it for the time being.  I was deleting the account in system preferences and basically the mac that I setup the account on first would work and the second mac would get hung up on the password.  When I would setup the exchange email on the other computer first, it would work the other way - other computer would have password issue.  Your username difference made me try this and I'm not sure how it worked but it did.
    Basically you have to setup the account on both macs in system preferences before iCloud syncs them together.  iCloud mail syncing needs to be turned on when you do it too.  Then when iCloud goes to sync, all of the info is already the same on both macs and the user name stays that way.
    I'm not sure how I did it but on my laptop the info was plugged into "Internet Accounts" but hadn't shown up yet on my Mac Pro's "Internet Accounts"  So I typed everything in quick, set it up and now they both work perfectly... for the time being.  This is Yosemite after all, I don't think mail was intended to work properly.  There are so many issues...

  • Mail refuses to connect to GMail and POP3 after adding exchange account.

    I set up an Exchange Active Sync account in Mavericks Mail successfully.
    Sadly, none of my other POP3 or IMAP accounts (including their respective SMTP accounts) now work.
    Anyone see this before?

  • Gmail can not access or setup exchange account

    Hi,
    I have a new Sony Z3 tablet with Android 5.0.2. I can get my corporate exchange emails and calender infos when I use the buildin "Email"-app.
    Problem:
    When I try to setup a connection to the exchange server with the latest Gmail app I get an "Can't connect to server" (original message: "Verbindung zum Server kann nicht hergestellt werden").
    While Gmail on my Sony is not working I have no problems with Gmail on my Nexus 7 (Android 5.1).
    Any ideas?

    Unfortunately, I do not have any information regarding that. But I had the possibility to check this on a Samsung device (S5) and this model did not have the option to add an Exchange account either via Gmail. So I think it's a feature for Nexus phones or the one with Android vanilla.
    We have added support for Exchange ActiveSync via our preinstalled Email application which I can suggest that you use if you want to add an Exchange account.

  • "The Connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable" when adding second Exchange account to Outlook 2013

    I have a problem that I've found to be typical, just haven't found anything that describes my exact problem.
    I'm having trouble adding a second Exchange 2010 server account to Outlook 2013 in one of the computers of the domain. Outlook 2013 will complain with "The Connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete
    this action".
    I've Googled and found many threads with the same error... however most of those seem to be either a problem with the server, or the Global Catalog in Active Directory, or the "connection method" (I've tried all found solutions to no avail).
    This is not the case, since the first account is added with absolutely no problem. It can send and receive and I can delete the outlook profile and recreate it and it'll give no problems. I have this problem only when adding a second account.
    This is a fresh Windows 8.1 install with an up-to-date Outlook 2013. I have other computers in the same domain and network, with the same setup (Win 8.1 + Outlook 2013) configured with two exchange accounts with no problem.
    There are no connectivity problems, I can access that same account through OWA and in other computers on the network... the Global Catalog seems to be fine (shows two active DCs, which is correct).
    I've tried deleting and recreating the outlook profiles, repairing the outlook installation, even deleting all outlook files in AppData and letting it recreate them, with no success.
    Any hints of what could be going on?

    Based on my knowledge, the reason why inputing DC FQDN in the Server Field fixes this issue is that Outlook performs AD Lookup and finds the account configuration from AD, then back the CAS Array FQDN in the Server Field  instead of DC FQDN.
    Exchange 2010 is different from Exchange 2013, if you are using Exchange 2013, we need to input MailboxServerGUID.domain.com into Server Field.

  • Pin login option removed after exchange account was added and is still disabled after removing exchange account

    Hi,
    I configured my Surface 2 using pin as login option. After that I added my company's exchange account (which has an active sync policy that disables all login types except Windows live password).
    But removing my OWA account didn't remove the exchange restrictions. How do I remove them completely?

    This issue seems to be related to the active sync policy,the sync policy will persist even though the account has been removed. To solve this iuuse ,we can reset the security policy.
    To reset the Security Policies:
    Control Panel \User and Family Safety \User Accounts \Reset Security Policies

  • Mail Crashing when adding exchange 2007 account with SL

    I tried adding my work exchange to my mail which I currently have gmail and mobileme configured. I enter my info and credentials, accept the certificate (unsigned), and mail crashes immediately.
    I tried moving out the plist and /Library/Mail folded to start from scratch, but I get the same result.
    This did work with my exchange account on another machine (my Mac Pro) with the last beta. I have not had a chance to upgrade it yet. Anyone else have similar problems? Any other ideas to try?

    I was able to figure out a work around. In order to get out of the automatic discovery of my mail server information, I started over at the new account wizard and put in a bogus email domain. Since the wizard did not recognize it, it prompted me to enter the server type and the rest of the settings. Once I entered them manually I was able to add the account. Hopefully there will be a forthcoming permanent fix somewhere down the road.

    Same thing when using the internet account system preference.
    A message appears about a sub-window preference problem.

  • Google added as Exchange Account (mail, contacts, cal), issues with contact #'s resolving to Names.

    Google added as exchange account (mail, contacts, calendar), all works except contact correlation. Meaning somebody calls me, it's in the contact list but does not show name just the #. Same for outbound calls..search contacts, tap #, phone shows I'm dialing # versus contact name. This is completely goofy. I had a previous emplorers Exchange account working perfectly before I had to delete it. I removed all email accounts from iPhone and started fresh with adding Google as Exchange 'type' account.

    Ok I fixed this problem. Within Google under contacts I had imported 1,200+ contacts and they all showed up there, on my iPad and iPhone. But on the phone name and # would not correlate. I discovered that by editing a contact (within Google contacts page) it would mark it as 'My Contacts' in addition to being Imported on xx/xx/xx. Once I did this, magically my iphone call log would display the name of the contact I edited/reclassified as 'My Contacts'. So I reclassified all the contacts as 'My Contacts' and now have full functionality. End of **** story and hope this helps somebody else.

    I have multiple exchange accounts syncing contacts to my iPhone. When I add a contact to my phone manually, is there a way to select which account I want it to sync with, or does it always just go to the default account?
    Additionally, is there any way to physically merge my :"unified contacts" and sync back to my exchange accounts (some have different info)

    Thanks! I have done that, but new contacts are still only placed in the "On my iPad" group. I know that previously, without multiple Exchange accounts, contacts were automatically added to the only Exchange account.

    Is there some settings on Exchange server, that need to be configured that I will get my camera functions back. I tested to remove the account and the camera functions came back and if I add the Exchange account again, camera will be disabled? Or is this some kind of bug in Iphone IOS?

    your exchange administrator can configure and enforce configuration policies such as disabling camera, disabling roaming, forcing passwords, etc. This seems to be the case here. Talk to him if he did.

  • Problem adding gmail account   with Exchange.  Please help?

    I have a 4s thru AT&T.  I set up a mail account using GMail's server, then entered my gmail info, and it worked.  However, my emails were not coming to the iPhone until I opened the mail app.  In other words, I didn't hear a ding and alert that a new Gmail had arrived.  Messages were NOT being pushed.
    So I read up on this, and eveyone said to set up gmail via the EXCHANGE account,(not the gmail account) under Settings>Mail>Add Account>EXCHANGE now instead of gmail).  If I set up my Gmail via Exchange, then I should get messages pushed.
    So I did all that, and for the server, I entered m.google.com.   This setup is covered all over the place and looks easy.  However, when I am done, and try to open/send anything, it says Cannot Get Mail.  The connection to the server failed.  Postitive that my names and passwords are right.  No typos anywhere.
    Gmail connects me fine when I add account via gmail.   But Gmail will not connect when I add account Via Exchange.

    It should push by default, as Gmail is an iMAP account that supports push.   You could go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Fetch New Data and confirm that Push is set to On.
    I have see a number of posts recently, however, about Gmail push not working for people.  Suggest you search these forums or Googles support forum to see if there's a solution.

  • Adding another exchange account Outlook 2013 Pro Plus for terminal Server users

    Really hoping someone can offer some advice on this one as I have wasted far to many cycles trying to figure this out.
     Company I work for recent purchased another company and we are in the process of bringing them into our network.  They currently run a a 2008 R2 terminal server where all users connect to for there day to day work.  A number of applications
    are installed including Office 2013.
    All users have Outlook 2013 configured to access their exchange server for email and this works fine.
    The first step in bringing them into our fold is to add an email account for Our Exchange  server without removing their existing exchange configuration or Outlook Profile.  So the one profile will have both exchange accounts listed and they can
    continue to get email from their server but as well email from our domain.
    I created a MSP file and tested pushing this out using PDQ Deploy to a few workstations here in our office and it works fine.  I then started to work on deploying in their environment.  PDQ Deploy will not work as they are all terminal Services
    Clients.  So I tried to push out via GPO.  I created the GPO Initially wanting to use a package and apply that GPO to an AD group.  However it will not let me deploy a MST as a package.  So I then tried moving it to a script that would
    run at logon.  That too is not working.
    I know I could enter install mode then run the MSIEXEC.EXE \config.MSP but that takes away the ability to control the role out.
    Any other ideas on how to get this done.

    Using the MSPfile method would require the logged-on user to have the necessary Windows permissions to run setup.exe, and on an RDS/TS Session Host, that's not likely to be available. (since it's not a great idea to give end-users those permissions on a
    shared system like RDS/TS)
    But you might be able to do it with a PRF file and an Outlook launch command, like this?
