Adding frame in Indd CS5

I set stroke to 0 and it's still adds black stroke.

How link from html page to a specific frame in flash cs5 as3

Hi!
I'm kinda new around here. I am interested in knowing how to link from a specific html page to a specific frame in flash cs5 as3.
I have a website that I originally began to design in flash but later started developing new pages for it in html. The flash part of it has several pages on different frames and I have created links from the flash part to the other html pages, but, I can only link the html pages back to the main flash home page, and not the other pages in the flash part of the website.
I have read that in cs3 it was possible using the flashvars skip variable, but I don't know how to do it. I have not yet seen any working examples and I could not find any instructions / tutorials online for cs5.
Can someone help here?

add a query string, to the swf's embedding html, with variable/value indicating the frame you want to display in your swf. add a javascript function to return the query string (or entire url), call the javascript function from flash using the externalinterface class. and finally add code to your swf to parse the returned url or query string, parse it and then direct your timeline to the appropriate frame.

PDFs created in InDD CS5 and CS6 crash when searching?

When I try to search PDFs made from InDD CS5 or CS6 (full install, not cloud) on my Macs at work and at home, the application freezes (Force Quit shows "not responding).
This happens especially with large books, but also with smaller stuff.
I am on Snow Leopard on both machines and have been having this problem for over a year.
Originally I thought is was because some documents were created way back in CS2 and kept being upstepped as I upgraded versions.
Now I am beyond those old pubs, and the problem still exists.
I thought upgrading to CS6 would help, but it hasn't.
Sometimes I can search and get the first one or two instances of a word, but it still freezes.
It even happens with factory PDF settings such as "PRESS."
And yes, I have emptied the PDF cache.
I can't figure out if this is an InDD problem or Acrobat X.
There doesn't seem to be anything on the forums that I can find, either.
Any suggestions?

Seems more likelyt o be Acrobat than ID, in my opinion, since that's the application doing the searching.
Have youy posted in the Acrobat forum?

INDD CS5 print booklet impose problem

Using iMac with Lion and INDD CS5.
Im doing a 28 page booklet on legal paper (8.5x14), so each final page is 8.5 tall by 7 wide. I used the Print Booklet feature to make an imposed PDF and the preview looked fine, but the resulting ps file opens and its "imposed" but it only is getting the left page and part of the right page, almost as if the page size its "printing" to is not legal. But I can't find where I make sure its destination is legal paper. Anywhere in the print or settings where its specifies paper, its grayed out or unavailable.
Any help?

This is a 100% Adobe issue, I've been following a tutorial off the Adobe site, printing to a PS file, and it still screws up.

When I drop an .indd cs5 document on icon Indesign cs4 starts up! How can I change these settings

The solution of the above written problem should be so simply however I'am not able to solve this. I want te create pdf's with drag and dropping a CS5 Indesign file on the icon. Tried to change the preferences but no luck...

Although this sohould be asked and answered in InDesign/CS5 forum. it's not really an issue of InDesign. Its an issue of the Mac operation system
close up and quit everything back to finder.
Next locate a bunch of indd cs4 documents.
highlight them has to be a minium of 5.
now from finder go to file > Get summary Info.
next locate button showing what applications opens the files.
click on button and choose InDesign CS5.
now under tha button click on Change All ... and click Okay.
Now all your indesign files will open with the indd CS5 application.
if you would rather just open an individual file if you have a 2 button mouse
Click the right mouse button on the desired file.
hold until context menu pops up click and hold on open with...
a new menu gets built of desired applications
choose InDesign CS5 and it will open.
This allows a given file to open with desired application but doesn't change file types.

INDD CS5.5 freezes when trying to export IDML

Hi there,
For a couple of days I'm trying to Export a 23.2MB INDD file in IDML, but after a few seconds it freezes:
Adobe InDisign CS5.5 has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is
available.
I have INDD 7.5.1 running on Windows 7; 64bit.
Any suggestions?

I have tried to break up the file and export two pages a time, but in vain.
Create a new document and go to the Pages panel and choose Move Pages and move your pages to the new document.
See if that clears it up. If not, try a single page. If it works, when you can narrow to the problem.
Is there a possibility to cut and past INDD CS5.5 to INDD CS4 ?
Actually, yes. Select the page elements in CS5 and Export to a Snippet (in fact, you might even be able to drag and drop to CS4...).

Indd CS5.5 keeps asking to update modified links

Indd CS5.5 keeps asking to update modified links when opening a document, when links have not been modified.. This happens a lot.
Any guidance gratefully received.

Hi John, thanks for your helpful suggestion.
We've picked up on some small nuances in the last 24 hours. There are two of us here in the studio and the documents and links are saved on a shared drive.
• When I open the document on my machine and update all the links, then close it and then open it again – without my colleague opening it – it doesn't ask to update the links.
• However, if he opens it after I've opened it, it will ask to have it's links updated again. And if I open it after he has opened it, it again will ask to update the links.
*Idea* could it be that one of the machine's clock settings are incorrect. ie. my colleague's new laptop?

The plot thickens: I have also loaded this software on to an iMac out side of the office; not connected to the server, just running on its own. I have some images on an external hard drive. I have exactly the same problem if I unplug it and re-plug it. When I re-plug it doesn't just simply find the links, it says they have been updated.
Any more ideas would be appreciated.

Premiere Adding Frames in Render

Hi,
So here's the backtracking of what I did:
Edited my footage in a sequence in normal size.
I wanted to make it widescreen, so I made a new sequence in 1920x810.
I then copy pasted my edit into the new sequence and started rendering.
The render window kept adding frames to render, and the percentage jumps and very slowly adds 0.1% into the progress.
I tried choosing a smaller amount to render, same problem still persists.
Why does it now want to render normally? Why does it add frames to render all the time? Wheres the problem?

I was told that 1920x810 is the standard RED Wide format. So I wanted my 5d video to look the same as the RED wide.
"When a commercial widescreen movie is mastered for distribution on Blu-Ray disc, it's rendered at the full 1920-pixel width of the FHD format. Due to its wide aspect ratio, however, the movie's height covers only about 810 pixels of the 1080-pixel height of the screen, with upper and lower borders letterboxed. This 1920x810 frame is the native size of widescreen Blu-Ray video."
And also I really don't think that the sequence size would matter to render the project.

Background Color When Adding Frames - PSE8 or PSE9

When adding a frame to an image, the background color that is outside of the new frame, and which borders it, always comes up white for me. Can that area be made to come up another color, and if so, how? Thanks!

For the background, you can either choose any background from the content panel or
choose any color from the color palette
select Paint bucket tool
Click on a New layer icon in the layer's panel with Control/Command pressed.

J'ai fait des essai de pathfinder mais celui ci replace le texte dans un bloc donc ce n'est pas bon ! merci de vos conseils

Alors j'ai crée un catalogue 32 pages façon normal sur indesign destinée à l'impression en numérique donc tous mes titres seront personnalisé au nom de mes 9000 clients.
Mon imprimeur fait lui même la fusion de donnée mais souhaite le faire sur mon catalogue en imposition

...du coup le but est de mettre la page oule titre est une autre faconde creer aille a coté de la page les grands classique.
et que sur ses 2 pages je ferait un publipostage (fusion de donnée, champs variable) sur chacune d'entre elle séparément sur le fichier d'imposition

En outre on ma déjà donner une solution sur un autre forum et de mon coté j'ai changer légérement ma mise en page pour régler ce probléme

I have a script that was working for a long time, but now it no longer remove stroke from new frame and I can't figure out why. Here is the code:

Hmm-m. Try this one-line script on a selected object that has a visible stroke width. Does it work?

I tried a few variants as well:
app.selection[0].strokeWeight = "0";
app.selection[0].strokeWeight = "0pt";
app.selection[0].strokeWeight = "0 pt";
app.selection[0].strokeWeight = "0     pt";
and they all seem to work just fine.

Premier Pro is adding frames in the beginning of the video

Hello guys,
I have the following problem with Premier Pro.
1. Several videos with different frame rate (24 fps and 30 fps)
2. I create new sequence 24 fps
3. Import videos to project and set them all to 24 fps via Interpret Footage.
4. Now I am adding video to sequence, but Premier is adding 3 frames in the beginning from totally different video.
What is that?

I'm not sure why or how PPro is inserting frames from a different clip. But before digging into that, it might be worth exploring why you're using Interpret Footage to change the frame rate. In case you're not aware, Premiere Pro manages mixed frame rates automatically, so you don't have to do anything if you want the 30fps clips to play at normal speed in a 24fps sequence. In fact, changing the frame rate changes a clip's duration and playback speed.

Need Help Adding Frame to FLA File

I am trying to add a photo to a Flash file that we had created for us:

I am kind of sort of new at Flash. I can edit these files but I can't figure out how to add a new photo. I thought you could just add a new layer but that's not working. Can anybody shed some light on this for me?

If those images are arranged in a timeline, then you should be able to add a new one by adding a layer and extending any other layers that need to be. To get the fade effect you will need to create either a graphic or movieclip symbol of the image and use that in the timeline, not the raw image that you import into Flash.
Youe best bet will be to study what you currently have and see how each keyframe (dotted frame) has some significance (assuming whoever did it knew what they were doing). Some folks go crazy with keyframes.
If the design uses actionscript code to make the images work in and out, you'll need to show your code so that someone might be able to figure out what needs to be changed to add a new image.

Media manager adding frames

i'm trying to export 4 layers of video (rough composite layer, blue screen layer, matte layer and background layer) with media manager. i need to send these shots to compositors to make the final composites. i'm using media manager because it seems like the easiest way to give them what they need as separate files. i want to create new quicktimes of the shots in my sequence at exactly the same length as they appear in my edit (no handles).
when i try to export with media manager, the sequence that it creates is the same as my sequence but the quicktime clips that it creates are not. media manager has somehow added 4 frames to the head of the clip on layer 1 and 9 frames to the head of layer 2. i need for the compositors to be able to line up the layers by just lining up the heads of the shots.
my media manager settings are:
-"copy media referenced by duplicated items"
-"include master clips outside selection" is NOT checked on
-"delete unused media from duplicated items" IS checked ON
-"use handles" is NOT checked on
-"include affiliate clips outside selection" is NOT checked on
-"base media file names on existing file names"
-"duplicate selected items and place into a new project" IS checked ON
-"include nonactive multiclip angles" IS checked ON
footage and sequence are: AJA Kona LHi: 1080psf 23.98 Apple ProRes 422

I am working on an animation edit. The clients send us a master QT with audio. I export the audio for animation lipsync, the animators then send me QTs with the audio I have exported embedded within them. The clients have the original audio and have requested that the QTs we send back contain just picture.
The delivery specs state I need to send a project and media to the client.
There are no audio clips in my timeline apart from the QT sent by the clients. In my edit I add our animations above the client QT and send the sequence. Before, when I was using QTs with audio I was not cutting the audio into the sequence just using the audio from the master QT the clients sent. My new QTs (with no audio) are being dropped onto the timeline on a higher video track but when I export them they add '-v' at the end which does not fit into the clients naming convention.
I hope that made sense, any help is greatly appreciated.

[AS] Access Text Frame Labels in CS5

Hello Everyone,
I am updating a CS2 InDesign AppleScript to CS5 and finding an issue accessing the text frame labels. In CS2 the script below would set the variable x to the contents of the text frame "bob", unfortunately, this script not longer works in CS5.

The documentation tells users how to insert text, but not access it. If anyone has an idea of how to do this in CS5 I would appreciate it.
