  • Creating Non Copyable PDF document in Portal

    Hi,
In our portal we save and Print report to PDF. Now business requires that the some of the PDF documents cannot be copyable by the users.
Is this technically possible to do and how can achieve it.
    thanks
    Bhat

    Hello Bhat,
How is the PDF document getting generated? Is it a Smartform or from ADS? I think it is technically possible to limit what the end user can do with the actual PDF. But if you are displaying a PDF to the user on the screen, the users can always take a screenshot and print the screen, unless you remove the Print screen functionality So, how are you going to get away with this?

  • Open a pdf document in portal content area

    All,
I have a folder in 'Public Document' with a pdf file. A KM Navigation iView points to the folder with the pdf file. When a user clicks on the pdf file it opens in a seperate window. Is it possible to open the pdf file in the content area of the portal.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
Try to set the "Target Window Type" in the corresponding resource or collection renderer setting, see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/50/041142e862654ca98ced1607386c9c/frameset.htm and the same for the collection renderer settings for details.
    Hope it helps

  • Adding pdf document

What's the best way of adding a 300 page pdf for an internal ipad app so that the viewer can browse and go to different pages
    via a TOC?  Thanks

Well the best way is to convert pdf pages into articles. You can take a look at this Devnet article : http://www.adobe.com/devnet/digitalpublishingsuite/articles/dps-pdf-to-indesign.html or take a look at Cross IP's solution : http://www.pdf4dps.com/. Both Give you a fast solution for achieving this.

  • Pdf documents not added on web pages

    Hi!
I've got problems adding pdf documents in iWeb.
I'm doing it the way I've always done it:
I insert some text (or a picture) and activate a hyperlink (linking it to a pdf document). I then save and upload the web pages via ftp to my webhost.
This has always worked in the past.
However, now, when I visit the website and click the link to the pdf document I just get a 404-message saying the requested file can't be found on the server.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!
    //Oscar

Have you tried publishing you site to a local folder and launching it in the browser by double clicking the index.html file to see if the link works in this version of your site?
Doing this will let you know if the problem is in iWeb or with FTP. If the local version works then the problem is with FTP. If not then you need to troubleshoot iWeb.
Its better to use a hyphen instead of a space in a URL.

  • Border getting added to PDF document when printing using ePrint

We have HP LASERJET PRO 200 COLOR MFP M275nw printer. We are using the Version 2.3.1 of the HP ePrint Android application to print a PDF document from an Android tablet. When document gets printed, it has borders all around and the document. Because of this the document appears "shrunk". If we use Adobe Reader application on PC and print the document at "Actual Size" then no borders get added to the document and the document appears to be printed at exact scale. Is this a limitation of the printer or a bug in the ePrint application. Is there a HP printer (other than what we are using) where using ePrint application we can print "borderless" PDF documents from Android tablet?

    Hi,
You have to wait for Android (Google) or HP to produce an app which can print borderless.

  • How to highlight / draw onto a pdf document that is a scanned image, then save the added elements

    Hello
I'd like to add markings / little annotations or highlight as if with a color marker various sections of a scanned image that has been sent to me in pdf format, which I visualize with Adobe Reader 9 on my PC (Windows). I need to save the changes and then send it back by e-mail to the original sender.
So far I've been awkwardlky making copies of my screen (PrintScreen function) of each individual page of the pdf document, then pasting them into PowerPoint slides, then using various PPT drawing and textbox functions to add my stuff to the, now, PPT file, which then I sent back as such. This is very time-consuming and ridiculous and there's got to be another way of adding these changes within Adobe Reader or another similar software, doesn't it?
Again, the pdf docs that I need to work on are scanned images (medical charts), not actual copiable text (pardon my ignorance of the correct terminology to explain this).
    Thank you for your help,
    Falingo

    So the solutions are:
    1. "Buy Acrobat"....which Adobe Acrobat ?....Stanard, Pro, etc (...obviously I'd like the most basic and cheapest...which one is that?)
    or
    2. "Enable doing that in the Reader"....how exactly am I supposed to do that?

  • In adobe reader app on iPad, I have a PDF document that added notes and comments to.  Once I left the document and returned to it, the notes and comments were gone.  Where are they?  I clicked "save" and "done" buttons after I entered text.

In adobe reader app on iPad, I have a PDF document that added notes and comments to.  Once I left the document and returned to it, the notes and comments were gone.  Where are they?  I clicked "save" and "done" buttons after I entered text.

The application auto-saves your input when you close the document.  If you left the document, as you state, the notes/comments should have been saved and should have been visible the next time you opened the document with the Mobile Reader (note that if you are opening the document with another app such as Apple's built in PDF Viewer, things like notes/comments may not be visible).  Also note that if you are doing an Open In... from another app (like Dropbox), the version of the document in Dropbox does not update; only the version of the document in the Mobile Reader is updated.
Would it be possible to send a video of the problem you are encountering to [email protected] so that we can try to help?

  • Integration between ECC PDF document and NW2004s portal ...

I am hoping someone can point me to some documentation to do the following ...  I have an adobe forms pdf document in SAP ECC.  I can pull up the PDF file in ECC and it looks fine.  How do I create a request from a NW2004s EP7 SPS15 portal that will display the PDF on the portal?
We have installed Adobe Document Services (ADS) and I have tested all the connections and everything appears to be configured correctly.
I don't know how to make the call from the portal and have the PDF file that I can generate in ECC display on the portal.
Any help will be appreciated!   Thanks.

    Hi Angie,
If you have the PDF doc, you can upload that into the KM repository and create a KM document iview.

  • Adding Navigation Buttons for Users of PDF Documents

The default for Acrobat Reader (and even the Pro version)
seems to leave the Forward and Back navigation buttons OFF the
Acrobat Reader tool bar. You have to deliberately go into the Tools
    - Customize Tools menu and turn on these two buttons in order for
them to appear in the tool bar. This creates problems for readers
of your PDF documents if the readers of your documents aren't very
computer savy. If you have links in your PDF document so readers
can navigate around, not having the Forward and Back buttons up on
the tool bar as a default makes these links almost useless. The
reader has to know how to turn these two buttons on and some
readers may not have a clue how to do that.
My question: Is there a way to put 2 navigation buttons on a
reader's toolbar AUTOMATICALLY when they open your document--ie,
something embedded in the PDF doc that automatically turns these
buttons on for the reader so they don't have to do it
    themselves?

  • Adding hyperlink in Infopath custom list which opens pdf document available in document library

    Hi,
I have a custom list(modified in InfoPath 2010) and a document library having 2 pdf documents.
In the Custom list, i have used the attachment option for another field.
How to create a link in the InfoPath list, which when clicked opens the corresponding pdf from the document library?
    How to achieve this?
    Thank you

    Hi Venkatzeus,
From your description, you have a list and attachments for the list are uploaded to a document library. To display the hyperlink in InfoPath form, you can directly use 2 Hyperlink controls. And give the document' URL in this control using formula.
I’m not sure how you upload the list item attachments to another document library. But make sure you have made a connection between the list item and attachments in document library. Here is an example.
    ListTitle         ID
    Item1     1
    Item2     2
Pass the ID to the document library when we create the attachment.
    Document Name             ItemID
    attachment1 for item1    1
    attachment2 for item1    1
    attachment3 for item2    2
    attachment4 for item1    1
    attachment5 for item2    2
So here, we can see attachment1, attachment2, attachment4 are item1’s attachments and attachment3, attachment5 are item2’s attachments, because of ItemID.
    1. Create a new column for document library, named it DocumentURL.
    2. Create a workflow and set to start when new item is created automatically with following action.
    Set DocumentURL = http://server/topsite[%Current Item:URL Path%].
    3. Custom list form.
        1) Add a data connection to receiver data from document library.
        2) Insert document library connection as repeating section.
        3) Add a hyperlink control within the repeating section (Insert > Hyperlink).
        4) Select DocumentURL as the data source for Link To and Display options.
    4. Add a formatting rule to the repeating section control.
If ItemID in document data connection is not equal to ID in Main data connection, then hide this control.
    5. Done.
Let me know if you have any question.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Adding/Modifying a "Stamp" on a PDF document

Are there options within Adobe to (1) create a PDF version of a supplier's invoice, allowing the person creating the PDF file to include a "stamp" that shows what general ledger account(s) the invoice should be coded to; and (2) allow another person to edit that stamp by applying his/her initials of appproval?
A good internal control environment suggests that the person doing the initial coding should not have the authority to also apply initials of approval.  I'm thinking that there's a version of Adobe Acrobat that allows for differing levels of access to a given PDF document?
    Many thanks,
    AlbertaRedneck

You can't alter the contents of a stamp after it's placed, but another stamp can be placed on top of an existing one. The first stamp can also be flattened, converting it to regular page contents, and the initials stamped on top.

  • What is involved in removing an image from a PDF document and inserting a new one?

Our form producing process is very typical:
    (1) Start with a TIFF image, create a fresh PDF document.
    (2) By adding items such as links and interactive fields, convert the read-only document into an interactive form.
Step (2) may take a lot of work, but fortunately when modifications are needed, it is always possible to edit the individual items. No need to redo the whole form from scratch.
There are some cases, however, in which we have invested a substantial amount of work in Step (2), but we need to modify the underlying image, removing it and replacing it with a new one. We obviously don't want to destroy all the work done in (2).
I envision the procedure as taking a rug from underneath a person and putting a new one.
What is involved in doing that? Can that be done at the JavaScript level? Are there commercial packages that can do that? Is the Acrobart SDK required?

  • Occasional letters missing in pdf document created in Acrobat XI Pro

I have been working on a pdf document created from Indesign By Acrobat XI Pro that will be for online download. The first version was fine. Links had to be added and some of the text coloured. After edits occasional letters have gone missing throughout the document. Why on earth is this happening? I now have to go through the entire document with a fine toothcomb before submitting it to my client again. It doesn't make me look good!
    Any ideas?

I suspect that you somehow deleted the embedding of the fonts. Check the document properties and be sure all fonts are embedded.
