Adding RDS servers in Homesite 5.5

When I go to Macromedia FTP & RDS on the file window and
right-click "Macromedia FTP & RDS" it gives me the option to
"Add FTP server" but not to add an RDS server. Is RDS not supported
by Homesite?
I'm running Homesite 5.5 on Windows XP Home Edition SP2.
Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

That's right: RDS is a feature in HomeSite+ (not HomeSite).
You can't buy HomeSite+ but can only find it on a DW CD (DWMX, MX
2004, or DW 8--my understanding is it's no longer on DW CS3.)
Bottom line: if you have a license for DW and the CD, you can
install HS+ using those. If you don't have those, you can't install
or use HS+, and the various CF-oriented features that it adds, like
the RDS file viewer, the query builder, the CFC browser,
etc.

  • Deploying Applications with SCCM 2012 R2 to Server 2008 R2 RDS servers

I'm having some trouble finding some concrete information from Microsoft regarding the deployment of applications to RDS servers using SCCM 2012 R2. There seems to be a lot of conjecture, old information and old wives tales floating around and I was hoping
I could get some information confirmed!
    1. MSI installs automatically switch to install mode on RDS servers?
I've seen this mentioned a few times. I've also seen it mentioned that it is only true when running the MSI from the console session manually (i.e clicking the MSI file) not running as SYSTEM as SCCM would usually do. Can someone confirm if they do this
    themselves or not?
    2. Users still logged in when deploying applications?
Is it possible to deploy an application while users are still logged in? Is this only related to going into 'install' mode and taking the chance that a user will do something that will cause issues? Or is it known to cause issues?
I guess those are the main ones, I'm experienced in SCCM but not with deploying to RDS servers, I cant seem to find any straight answers!
    Anyway, thanks in advance!

I've never had large enough RDS environment to use SCCM for app push, but from my experience in managing 2012/R2 RDS and local installs, I never bother with switching to install mode anymore and it works fine.  Now if you're skeptical, you can
easily build this into a script that runs as a pre-req to your .MSI as part of the software package in SCCM so it's not a big deal.
As for installing apps while users are logged in, shouldn't be a problem if you're installing a new app., if however you're updating an existing application or uninstalling it, then it may be best to drain that RDS host first of all user sessions then do
the work just to be safe.  this also helps avoid reboots.

    Thanks for your help.
I discovered that there was an issue with the virtual host config files. I am not sure why but the problem passed the Apache startup routine. I discovered the offending VH config file by turning them all off and reactivating them one at a time. The real head scratcher is why I couldn't scan or ping port 80 during the problem.

  • Add RDS server in HomeSite

Had to reinstall MX7 suite and forgot how to set up RDS
server in homesite so i can view my dBs.
my dbs are internal (testbed) so have no username or
    password.
also trying to connect, created several listings... can i
    delete these??
    tnx in advance.

When you are in the Developer Mappings area the first tab is
Debug Start and has a drop down for RDS server and there is an
option to add one. Add a new one and once you are done you will be
    able to browse tables.
You can also add one from the Files resource window with the
drop down list of your file system. There is a selection in there
for RDS. This will bring up the RDS sites navigator where you can
    delete or add RDS entries.

  • Multiple RDS servers in one domain

    Hi
We are trying to create a new setup using Windows Server 2012 R2 where customers rent their own server. In this setup we will make all servers members of the same domain and then seperate the users by Groups and OU's.
The problem that I am facing is that since every customer has a specific need for performance, storage, applications etc. we cannot really just create a big RDS farm with a lot of powerful servers, but instead we have to create a RDS-server for each customer.
Now my question is how to do this in the right way. My first idea was to make a complete single server RDS setup for each customer where the roles installed by a standard RDS deployment is installed on each server which is then assigned a public IP and a
FQDN for the customer to connect to. But will this work if they are all members of the same domain and how do we control licensing if we want to host the RD Licensing role on another server in the domain?

    Hi Kenneth,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
Yes, we can have multiple server in single domain. You can create different session host according to your requirement for the users assign permission and all on that server. All different session host server will join with connection broker installed. For
making connection stable and available all time, you can have RDCB High Availability. In addition need to purchase trusted certificate for connection stability.
For RD Licensing server to work, you need RDS CAL to access by different users. There are 2 types of RDS CAL (Per User & Per Device) and need to purchase according to your requirement. Before that you need to activate the RD Licensing server and then can
install all RDS CAL. Also see that you need to point all the RD Session Host server to RD Licensing server for proper functioning.
You can go through below link for setting up RDS with proper solution.
    1. Step by Step Windows 2012 R2 Remote Desktop Services – Part 3 (4 part series)
    2. Specify a License Server for an RD Session Host Server to Use (For reference)

  • Adding AAA servers to ACS to use Proxy RADIUS distribution Table

    Hello,
I've added two non ACS radius servers (Radiator) to the AAA servers on Network Config, in order to use them on a proxy distribution table.
I had problems authenticating users through those servers and I did a sniffer trace on the outside interface of the ACS.
What I saw is that ACS sends packets to the AAA server configured as RADIUS on port 1645, not 1812, the expected standard, and port to which the others servers are listening to. How can I change this behaviour?
    Thanks
    Gustavo

ACS by default will listen on both ports 1645 and 1812, the two "standard" Radius ports. However, when talking to a proxy server it will only send them on 1645, by default. To change this you have to go into the registry and change it as follows:
Under [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cisco\CiscoAAAv3.x\Hosts\\RADIUS] (where is the server you want to send the 1812 reuests to, and note that you may have to add the RADIUS key if it isn't there already), you can add the following:
    "authPort"=dword:0000066e <<---- 1645
    "acctPort"=dword:0000066d <<---- 1646
    "timeout"=dword:00000001
    "single connection"=dword:00000000
    "strip users"=dword:00000000
You don't need all of them, you can just change the authPort to 1812 (714 in hex) and acctPort to 1813 (0x715) and you should be good to go. Make sure you reboot the server after making the registry changes. Keys are case-sensitive too so make sure you type them in EXACTLY as I've shown above.

  • Error when adding MB servers to a DAG in Exchange 2013

    Hello,
I have already pre-staged my CNO in active directory. I also have created my DAG in exchange 2013. When I try to add my mailbox servers to my DAG, I receive the following error. I also tried to install the Failover Clustering feature manually, but I received
the same following error. Could you please assist me with this?
    <label style="font-weight:bold;">ERROR</label>
A server-side database availability group administrative operation failed. Error Failed to add or remove the Failover-Clustering feature. Error: The request to add or remove features on the specified server failed. Installation of one or more roles, role
services, or features failed. Error: 0x800f0922 .
    Pooriya Aghaalitari

    Hi,
From the error message, it seems that the issue is related to failover clustering feature.
    What’s your Windows version?
    Based on
this article, if you're installing the Mailbox server role and you intend for the server to be a member of a database availability group (DAG), you must be running Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard or Datacenter Edition, Windows Server 2012 Standard or Datacenter
Edition, or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Enterprise Edition. Windows Server 2008 R2 SP 1 Standard Edition doesn't support the features needed for DAGs.
Please make sure you meet this requirement.

  • Problem Adding Managed Servers in Weblogic - OSB Domain

In the project there were 4 OSB nodes as a part of a cluster, 2 other wanted to be add. These 2 were added as a part of the same cluster and were started with no problem. However, it was found that the OSB proxy services were not properly deployed in these ones.
From the sbconsole when trying to make any change to any proxy service the session could not be activated due to the following error:
"SB Console Cannot Create Resource Outside Of A Session"
In Oracle Metalink the error was found under the ID:
OSB - SB Console Cannot Create Resource Outside Of A Session [ID 1466651.1]
And the reason is suppose to be a Bug in Weblogic Version 11.1.1.3:
@ BUG:9821093 - JMS PROXY IS NOT FOUND AFTER ADDING NEW MANAGED SERVER TO OSB CLUSTER
As far as it is known these problem have not occur before when the previos nodes were added because no JMS proxy was deployed and now there were one.
That is way the JMS proxy was deployed in an other domain and deleted from the previous one hopping that this action solve as a workaround to the
problem, but when the new nodes were started and an small change was made to a proxy service the error :
"SB Console Cannot Create Resource Outside Of A Session"
    appeared again.
We are asking for some feedback regarding this issue, first of all we want to know if there are any workaround o anyone has faced this issue before, and if the Bug exists we want to know if the Patche suggested in Metalink is effective and trustable.
In the domain we still have some Business Services with JMS transport. However, in the bug only PS are involved in the BUG and not the BS, moreover remove the BS with JMS transport is not an option.
    Thanks you in Advance.

Instead of modifying the current Proxy Service that includes four nodes, delete and re-create it and with 6 nodes included.
The bug only occurs when trying to "modify" the proxy service. But not to create it again.

  • Adding Virtual Servers in iPlanet Webserver 6.0 SP5

    Hello All,
I have recently migrated to wevserver 6.0 SP5. Here I am facing a problem with the virtual servers. I am able to create virtual servers in 6.0 but as in the previous version 4.1 we dont have a home page for the URL host in 6.0 version. Though we can specify in Document Preferences the home page name and put the doc root as required for
eg I put the doc root as /usr/iplanet/servers/docs/chat
and I have 2 virtual servers for the same doc root but the home page is different for both where as in the previous version ie 4.1 we were able to specify a home page against each virtual server.
    Pls help me on this
    Sumit

In 6.0, the expectation is that distinct virtual servers would have distinct document roots. As such, the Administration Server does not provide the ability to configure virtual-server-specific "home pages".
There are a couple different approaches you could take:
    a) separate the document roots so that each virtual server has its own
    b) create a separate virtual server class for each virtual server, and specify different Index Filenames on the Document Preferences page (e.g. virtual server class A might be configured to use Index Filenames A.html,index.html while virtual server class B is configured to use Index Filenames B.html,index.html)
    c) manually configure obj.conf to use the home-page SAF
The home-page SAF would be used as follows:
    <Client urlhost="server.example.com">
    NameTrans fn="home-page" path="homepage.html"
    </Client>

  • No RDS Servers at when trying to add to connection broker farm

    Hello,
My client has 2 servers, Windows Server 2012 R2. One named "TW01" which is a Session-Host server, another called "RDSBROKER" (its actually called DC....-02, but i'll just stick to "RDSBROKER") which is a Licensing Manager, Web
    Access and Connection Broker.
We would like to add TW01 to RDSBROKER's Connection broker farm. The problem is there are no servers to choose in the list.
I've attached a couple of pictures for your convenience.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
Thank you for your posting in Windows Server Forum.
From your description it seems that you want to add the server to “configure load balancing settings”. For this you can perform as per below steps.
    - After you have created collection, reach to collection page.
    - Find “Host Servers” option (Last option)
    - Click on Tasks > Add RD Session Host Servers
    - It will display page to add the session host server; Add the specified server (in your case”TW01”)
    - Click Next
    - Click Add
    - After this it will add the server to load balance setting box.
    - Again open the “configure load balancing setting” and you will find your host server.

  • Adding RDS to FM-transmitter for N86

    Hi!
I'm wondering if it would be possible to customize the FM-transmitter for the N86 with RDS, so it also sends the artist and title of the song being played to the FM-receiver used? Now it only sends "Nokia", but that means there must be a function for the "sending part".
Had a SonyEricsson W980i before and it had this function. It's not a must, but is really neat when using the FM-transmitter in the car. Nokia doesn't want to be worse than SE, does it?

Ok, thanks for the info. I'll contact Nokia. But maybe some user knows if there someway to do this "homebrew"?

  • Adding cloud servers to my network

    Dear All,
I've set up an Amazon cloud server instance and can communicate with it
successfully using the secure shell as well as exchange files using sftp.
Although I can communicate with the server it is not really part of my network.
I want my applications that have networking features to start recognising it as
if it were a device attached to my computer so I can distribute rendering jobs
between my mac and this server.
    How do I do that?
    Regards
    El

Do not, by any means, totally remove the key/password.   Doing so removes all security from your wireless network (allowing others to see what you are doing) and also would allow anyone within range to connect to and use your wireless network.
Instead, try change the protocol being used for the security key by logging into the router.   If you have WPA2 available, use that.  If not, WPA, followed by WEP 128-bit.
Post your results and if necessary, we'll try something else.

  • Adding Edge Servers to a live FMS Server

    Hi All,
Does anyone know if this is possible?  I have an FMS server in our production enviroment that contains multiple vHosts, at the moment I have one edge server setup for each host based on the comment at the bottom of this entry:
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/fms/2/docs/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm?context=LiveDoc s_Parts&file=00000205.html
What I would like to be able to do is to add a new vHost and initiate an edge server process for this without having to restart the FMS service?
    Thanks

If the goal is to add a new listening port and vhost combination then you must restart FMS to make this possible.  Sorry.

  • Help needed with certificates for RDS Host servers

    Hi,
We currently have 4 RD Session-Host servers in our network. All four servers are member of a TS farm. We also have a TS Gatway server.
I managed to give the TSGW server a certificate but I need your support on this on the RDS servers.
    What happens?
When a user connects to the farm, a warning pops up telling me that the certificate is not issued by a trusted CA. This is because all RDS servers are using self signed certificates. Because the servers are farm members a user can be presented with this
warning several times when the session is being redirected.
How do I get rid of these warnings as well in our LAN as on the internet? What certificate type do I need?
    Thanks in advance.
    Jasper Kimmel

    Hi Jasper,
What is your Server OS for your environment?
Yeah, your all certificate related all warnings can disappear by purchasing the certificate from public CA. To access the farm outside the environment you can buy wildcard certificate. And yes, your all related queries be solved from the article provide in
    my previous comment.
The easiest way to get a certificate, if you control the client machines that will be connecting, is to use Active Directory Certificate Services.  You can request and deploy your own certificates and they will be trusted by every machine in the domain.
If you're going to allow users to connect externally and they will not be part of your domain, you would need to deploy certificates from a public CA.  Examples including, but not limited to: GoDaddy, Verisign, Entrust, Thawte, DigiCert
In Windows 2008/2008 R2, you connect to the farm name, which as per DNS round robin, gets first directed to the redirector, next to the connection broker and finally to the server that will host your session.
In Windows 2012, you connect to the Connection Broker and it routes you to the collection by using the collection name.
The certificates you deploy need to have a subject name or subject alternate name that matches the name of the server that the user is connecting to.  So for example, for Publishing, the certificate needs to contain the names of all of the RDSH servers
in the collection.  The certificate for RDWeb needs to contain the FQDN of the URL, based on the name the users connect to.  If you have users connecting externally, this needs to be an external name (needs to match what they connect to).  If
you have users connecting internally to RDweb, the name needs to match the internal name.  For Single Sign On, again the subject name needs to match the servers in the collection. (Quoted from previous article).
Apart there is one more article by Kristin, you can go through for reference.
    Hope it helps!
    Thanks.

  • Migrating Homesite Settings like Color Scheme

    Hi,
I've just setup a new development machine and wish to migrate
my homesite settings over. I've spent a lot of time on editing
color coding, editor settings, RDS servers etc. Is there an easy
    way to do this?
I tried overwriting my homesite installation on the new
machine with my old folder but that didn't work.

    Found it!
You can back up your color coding schemes or save them to
transfer the settings to another computer. All color coding
customizations are stored in the registry. Found here:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Allaire\HomeSite45\CustomParserSettings
    or
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Macromedia\HomeSite5\CustomParserSettings
... or in similar keys for other versions of the software...
    Just export this key.
Here is how you do that:
    1. Start | Run | type in "regedit"
    2. Browse to
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Macromedia\HomeSite5\CustomParserSettings
    3. Select the CustomParserSettings folder
    4. Then select from the top menu bar Registry | Export
    Registry Key
    5. Name it and save it to a place you will remember
    (DeskTop) as a .reg file.
    6. If you are copying these settings to a different
computer, then copy that file over to that computer.
    7. Install HomeSite if it was not already installed.
    8. After installation, double click on the reg file, it will
automatically update your registry and restore your color coloring
    customizations.
Note: this is not saving custom parsers you might have added,
just the color selections that you might have chosen to use for
    particular coloring schemes.
