Address Workflow

Dear All,
In ESS when the user changes the address details. The workflow should send the work item to the HR admin. if he approves the work flow then only the data should get changed in the front end.
Is there any standard workflow available for this?

Follow the steps.
1. Find the Exit / BADI/ ENHANSMENT POINT in the mainprograme of the respective infotype.
2. Create a custom table to temporarily store the data.
3. From the EXIT trigger the workflow and save the data in the custom table.
4. Approval from MANGER.
5. Once the approval over then Write a background step in which it needs to retrive the data from the
Custom table and Update the Infotype .
6. Delete the data from custom table once the process is over.

Hi, I was wondering if you could help me please. Can you tell me how to remove an old email address from a workflow notification? The person's name and email address have already been removed from the list of Users in the Admin area, but some workflow notifications are still being sent to their email. Any ideas?

Thanks Liam, I'd previously looked at the also notify field and it didn't show any other email addresses. This time I clicked on the second of my two options in the Workflow Steps field, and then clicked back on the first one again, and hey presto, two email addresses appeared! The offending email address has now been removed.

Is it possible to change the "From Email Address in workflow"

I have a created a task list and set a workflow for the list.
Workflow Actions:
1. Send a Email to the "Assigned To" user whenever a task is created.
2. If the Task is due, send an reminder Email and even if its not completed, send a Email to the higher Management.
Workflow is working fine.
Issue:
The Email from address is the Email Address that has been entered in the SharePoint central admin Outgoing Email address.
I would need the from address to be of whomever has assigned the task to the particular person.
Let me know if its possible?

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to change the From email address in workflows.
The from address is set in the outgoing e-mail settings in Central Administration.
There is no OOB way to change it in workflows.
As a workaround, I suggest you develop your own workflow activity to do it.
Or, there is a CodePlex solution, it contains a Send Email Extended action which allows you to specify the sender, you can take a look at:

Change display name of workflow email address in sharepoint 2010

Hi
How I can change display name of workflow email address in sharepoint 2010. I want to configure display name (from address)of email
for each site collection separately.for example I want to change "software unit"
in below pic to another name for my software unit site collection.
How I can do this?

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to change display name of workflow email address in sharepoint 2010.
In my environment, if I assign a task to a user, the email is as below:
The “test” is the site name, the [email protected] is the “From” user.
Do you want to change the “From” field in the workflow?
If so, you can have a look at the "Send email extended" custom SPD workflow activity (http://www.codeplex.com/SPDActivities
) which allow you to specify the sender.

Workflow step - send email - address of sender

Hi,
We are using workflow to register travels and leave requests and we are sending emails to the employees about eg. that their document has been rejected/approved. Emails are sent by user WFBATCH. Is it possible to change this user to some other one so that we could change the sender email address?

If you're usng a SendMail step then (if I remember correctly) it's always run in background and therefore always WF-BATCH.
Usually, if I want to do anything unusual with mails from workflow then I create a step which calls a task which calls a new method of my BOR object which calls fm SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1. See if you can specify the sender there.

For a Service Request workflow i need to check the entire user list where the department is 'abc ' and then take that persons email address and send the mail to that particular user.

we have a requirement where in when a SR is to be transferred to a particular dept an email has to be sent atleast to one user in that dept.
We have a department field in the SR page and also in the User page. so say i select department in SR page as 'abc' then email has to be sent to the user who has dept as 'abc'.

Third party address validation in ESS pages using workflows

Can anyone help out in giving some ideas for solutioning the following.
Address entered in the page "Main Address: Enter New Address" of
Employee Self Service needs to be validated using third party PL/SQL API. This PL/SQL API is available in the same schema where HRMS objects are available. After the validating the address, user can be shown recommended or invalid address message when address entered is not valid. User can accept the recommended address or reject it in which case the original user entered address would be saved.
ESS pages are using workflows. What is the best design to call the third party address validation from the workflow and show the page with recommended address/invalid address message with "Accept" and "Reject" options. Can anyone help out on what are the technical possibilities to implement this address validation in the ESS page?.

After the validation, user is shown a page with "Ok" and "Cancel" options ( please note as said earlier we are not going with "Accept" or "Reject") along with recommended address if the address needs to be corrected. If user clicks "Ok", user will be in the Address update page and can edit the address with the recommded address. If user clicks "Cancel", control goes to next page by saving the address what ever is entered intially.
After passing through the validation logic in the work flow process and based on the result returned, can a OAF page be invoked which can show recommended address with OK and Cancel buttons?

Highlight an invalid email address in a custom workflow activity in SharePoint Designer 2010

Hi,
I have created a custom workflow activity to send an email with the 'From' address being taken as input from the SharePoint Designer when this activity is used in a designer workflow. My requirement is to highlight an invalid email address(from address)
on click of 'Check for Errors' button in SharePoint Designer like it is done for mandatory inputs by default where it highlights such inputs if left blank. Is it possible?

The process whts u want its not the standrd process also its not avaible in the ESS MSS .....................
Where as iin .............I will suggest you ..........As per your Senario its needed the cutomisation for the same....
Create the custome application for the same and there you need to give the code that .........if ADD change then
The changed address should go to manager for the apporal for this you need to develope Custome Workflow ....
So at the last it will be Cutomisation application and workflow you need to create for the same

Is there a workflow for changing all caps to upper and lowercase in address book? My card scanner annoyingly often scans info in caps.

Select a record to update and press the Edit button at the bottom of the main window. If the 'birthday Birthday' field label and field do not appear, open your Preferences… dialog and choose the Template pane, then add the birthday field by selecting it from the drop down menu labeled Add Field.

Workflow Notification From Address

I have designed a workflow to sending the pager message(phone device). this workflow is working fine.But I have a problem that inside notification message do not display the from address or some time display in numerical value in header section(from).

Workflow Issue - Delivery address XML Reference workflow - Error

Hello All,
I am an ABAP developer, with very limited knowledge in Workflow, and I am stuck with an ongoing issue for quite sometime. We have a scenario where we need to a workflow triggers for a specific UNDATED sales order lines (identified by values in VBAP-Zfield ) in R/3 box, and it carries an XML request (probably mails it) to a SAP CRM destination, which would now update some CRM tables and generate a Call list in the SAP CRM box. This is one flow that used to be fine, but has stopped working since the past few months may because of some change, which is not yet identified. as multiple projects are working on the same boxes.
To elaborate -
1 - We have a SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2 Idoc creating the SO, where in, based on a CUTOFF date condition, (if it is in the past), a VBAP-ZFIELD for the corresponding line is set to a value (08).
2 - This event is expected to trigger a workflow for the Undated order/Delivery resolution , which would then create an XML doc for the SO and send this across to CRM box
3 -This will then update a Ztable. This will be handled by a batch job in CRM to generate a call list.
Now we are facing a problem in the second step here, where in the activity - 'BCKGRD: Create XML_DOC for SO: xxxxxxxx' is completing successfully, but having a failure in the next step - 'Delivery address XML Reference workflow - ERROR'

Hi S Sen,
Agree with Ronen....no mail recipient or from 10 records of mail recipient - one record is empty.
Try to find out the intended email recipients....any data change there might have resulted in errors since few months. Maybe, some position got vacant, some config table to get the recipients got changed.....
