ADF 11g - Selecting a certain row for a Form

First of all hello and my apologies if this issues has been discussed here before (tried searching for it for a while. maybe I don't understand the problem right?).
Let me describe my context a bit : i got 2 tables, table2 contains an attribute(Index_Code) that is a Foreign Key for the attribute Index in Table1.
I got an ADF:Table in a JSP page with Table2View source(read-only) and I would like to be able to select a row in the table and then move to another JSP page where I i have an ADF:Form (Table2View+Table1View). The problem for me is that the row for Table2View in the 2nd JSP page is not selecting correctly (it always selects the 1st entry and not the entry with the Index_Code that i want). I want to add that in the Data Controls tab if I expand Table1View , i have the appropiate Table2View inside of it. But if i expand the Table2View node I don't have Table1View inside of it.
I'm pretty sure this is a very simple procedure, and I've been trying to google for a solution for 2 days now and I'm beggining to think it is such a simple solution that no one even bothers explaining it :). So i've posted this thread as my last resort.

Hi Marius,
It is not exactly clear for me what do you want but from your description I guess you have two View Objects : Table1View and Table2View and one View Link defining Table1View as master and Table2View as detail.
So in DataControl palette it is logical that only Table1View node is expandable with Table2View inside. Now if you put Table1View to jspx page as master af:table and Table2View as a detail table the detail table will reflect to change of the row in master table. If you put Table2View as a af:table alone also to second jspx page the framework will remember which row you selected on the first page when you navigate to second one.

Branislav

  • Selecting top x rows for each of the groupby clause

    Hi Gurus (again).
    I have this query to select the top 24 rows:
    select * from
    +(+
    select proid, to_char((next_day(trunc(request_date, 'iw'), 'mon')-7), 'YYYY') as YEAR, to_char(request_date, 'IW') as WEEK,
    next_day(trunc(request_date, 'iw'), 'mon')-7 as weekdate,
    trunc(avg(case when report_date > request_date then ((report_date - request_date) * 24) end),1) as avg_ERT_hr,  '24' as ERT_goal,
    trunc(avg(case when response_date > request_date then ((response_date - request_date) * 24) end),1) as avg_IRT_hr,  '48' as IRT_goal,
    trunc(avg(case when deliver_date > request_date then ((deliver_date - request_date)) end),1) as avg_IDT_day,  '0' as IDT_goal,

    order by 1 desc, 2 desc
    +) where rownum <=24+
    The problem here is that I have a group by "proid" clause in addition to the dates. My purpose is to be able to select the top 24 rows for each of the "proid" that is already grouped by the date. Essentially, the top 24 is the last 24 weeks pertaining to that "proid". How can I do this effectively without creating heaps of UNION clause for each of the "proid"?
    thanks in advance

  • I do not want all of the playlists in iTunes to be synced to my iPhone. With iCloud I do not seem to have a choice. How do I select only certain playlists for my iPone?

    I have many songs and playlists in my iTunes account.  I do not want all of them synced to my iPhone 5S, but that has happened via iCloud, and it has caused a storage problem on my phone.  How do I select only certain playlists to be synced to my iPhone?

    You need to start over with Music. On the iPhone Music screen uncheck sync music. Also, on the Summary screen uncheck "Manually manage music and videos", then sync and it should clear off your phone.
    Next, choose the music you want to sync. If you want to fit more on check "Convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC". This will reduce quality slightly, but it won't be noticable unless you are using $300 headphones.

  • Select query based LOV for tabular form attributes

    Say , i have table called user_col_comments now i want to display the table_name ,column_name and comments in a tabular form.I displayed only one row for the tabular form.Now i create a select query based LOV for attribute table_name where i got all table_name in drop down list.
    Point is that after selecting any data from drop down table list i want to get the corresponding fields to be populated in column_name attributes.How can i wrote the select query based LOV for the attibute column_name.
    I wrote it as 'select column_name d,column_name r from user_col_comments where table_name=:TABLE_NAME Its not working?
    Similarly i want same thing to display for comments after matching both table_name and column_name.
    Any solution to get rid of those problem will be highly appreciable...

  • Series Selection Creating .DMP File for Customised Form

    Hello ,
    I have created a Customised form with series selection from SAP .
    While registration bydefault "Primary" named series is created for that customised form.
    Then i added one more Series named " 10-11" with indicator as '2010-11' and set it as default series.
    Then i opened the customised form and entered the data it gets saved without any problem.
    After that i again went to the Document Settings and change the series from '10-11' to 'Primary' and
    select the indicator as 'Default' and saved the settings.
    When i opened the customised form the series shown is the changed one as 'Primary' but while entering the data and saving
    it system shows ".dmp file created" and sap shuts down.
    Then i have to unregister the UDO for that form and to delete all data entered for that form from table to make it work agian.
    This is the Problem which i am facing while using the Series in the customised form and its been a trouble some
    for me .
    Suggest any path to sort out this problem arising.
    Thanks & Regards
    Amit

    Hello Manish,
    Thanks for your quick reply.
    I am using SAP 2007 B Patch - 13
    But my question is if this problem occurs even after Patch upgradation then what will be the step for resolving that.
    In future if this problem arises what steps i have to take to remove this problem  without affecting my data.
    Suggest.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • ADF 11g + Select Boolean CheckBox becomes readonly

    Hi All,
    I have a view object, in which I added a transient attribute called as "InActive". And I added this VO as an ADF:Table on to the JSPX page.
    1) My requirement is that if the other column called "EndDate" got any value ( any date value) then the "InActive" checkbox need to be autoselected.
    And the users have the option of the de-selecting it.
    2) The requirement is such a way that based on this "EndDate" column we are assuming that the current row/records is active or inactive in database.
    So using this checkbox attribute, if the checkBox is selected for the row, then we are setting the "EndDate" column with "sysdate" and if they are unselecting any exisiting
    checkbox, the same row will get updated with "EndDate" to null. Every thing is working fine for me with the code I have.
    3) The road block I'm facing here is that I'm setting the attribute 'selected="#{row.EndDt != null ? true : false}" '. This is properly setting the checkbox "Inactive" values based on the "EndDate" column from the
    database. But the entire check box column becomes read only, which does not allow me to edit.
    4) If I set the value expression for the "Inactive" transient boolen attribute at the VO level, with the following as the value expression: 'EndDt != null ? true : false', if also sets the checkbox values properly, and moreover
    the check box also editable, which is what we are expecting, but on submission of the page, the checkbox attribute is still pointing to the old/default value even though we change the value of the checkbox.
    For example if the checkbox was got selected on load of the page, and if I unselects, and submits, it still shows that checkbox value as true.
    So it would be greatly help ful to me if some one can provide me any hint on this.
    Below is the code snippet I'm using for this in backing bean to process the logic.
    int totalRows = this.t1.getRows();
    ArrayList InactivatedrowIndexes = new ArrayList();
    ArrayList ActivatedrowIndexes = new ArrayList();
    for (int i = 0; i < totalRows; i++) {
    JUCtrlHierNodeBinding rowData =
    (JUCtrlHierNodeBinding)this.t1.getRowData(i);
    Boolean check = (Boolean)rowData.getRow().getAttribute("Inactive"); // Inactive is the transient boolean attribute in VO - which has the value expression as EndDt != null ? true : false
    if (check == true) {
    InactivatedrowIndexes.add(i);
    if (check == false) {
    ActivatedrowIndexes.add(i);
    System.out.println("******The row indexes to inactivate are: " +InactivatedrowIndexes);
    System.out.println("******The row indexes to activate are: " +ActivatedrowIndexes);

  • How to select the first row for each pair of values ?

    Hi guys, am hoping someone can help me here.
    If I have 4 tables - Building, Dept, Emp, Text
    B D E T
    A 1 Z blah1
    A 1 X blah2
    A 1 W blah3
    A 2 V blah4
    A 2 G blah5
    A 2 H blah6
    B 1 K blah7
    B 1 L blah8
    B 2 E blah9
    B 2 F blah0
    I need a query that will bring back the first bit of text for each pair of building and dept records.
    So the results I would get would be
    A 1 blah1
    A 2 blah4
    B 1 blah7
    B 2 blah9
    blah2 wouldnt be returned, because we have already had a record from the Building A, dept 1 pairing.
    Likewise we wouldnt get blah5 because we have already had a record from the Building A, dept 2 pairing.
    Can this be done in 1 query??
    Thanks all.

    Hi Pituach, thanks for your reply.
    in result  Country or grpid should not be repeated... in your result 'GB' and 'US' is  repeating.
      1) select countries with maximum value of 'Value' for a 'grpid'
      2) 'grpid' & country should not be repeated.
      3)  we need to take next maximum
    value if 'grpid'  not  there a for
    highest value.
    Result:
    Country
    grpid
    Value
    Row_number

    With the Skin changes provided in CSS is not been reflected.
    Since, it seems to have ADF Skin, but not the custom one.
    I tried even using this way as well, but not progress.

  • Select top 10 rows for each product

    Hi,
    I have to build a query in the following way:
    I have a query like,
    select dept, product, product_sold
    from products
    order by 1, 2 desc
    But I have a requirement, not to show all the products in dept . I need to show only first 10 rows of each 'dept' column.
    Please help me in acheiving this.

    You would do something like this (untested):
    select dept
    , product
    , product_sold
    from (
       select dept
       , product
       , product_sold
       , row_number() over (
          partition by dept
          order by product
          , product_sold
       ) rn
       from products
    where rn <= 10;Assuming that I have correctly guessed the ordering you require...
    cheers,
    Anthony

  • Urgent... Refresh issue in ADF 11g Select One Choice..

    Does any one has faces this issue before?

  • ADF 11g- Selecting Maximum value of a field on Commit Button

    Hi
    I am trying to assign a value to a field on form by selecting max(id)+1 from database table on commit button.
    It assign the value to field but try to commit before assigning value.
    code is like this:-
    public String commandButton2_action() {                  ////////////////a commit button.
    BindingContainer bindings = getBindings();
    OperationBinding operationBinding = bindings.getOperationBinding("Commit");
    commandButton3_action();////////////Retrieve the maximum value from database.
    Object result = operationBinding.execute();
    if (!operationBinding.getErrors().isEmpty()) {
    return null;
    return null;
    please do guide. what to do.
    Regards
    M Niaz

    Thanks,
    I know, that's why i am try to put this on save button instead on any other.
    But this is not an issue whether to use sequence or max()+1. I can use sequence instead but even then i have to get the nextvalue on form before commit.
    and i have to put that on commit button.
    Commit but try to commit the form before getting anything from DB.

  • Insert a number of rows for tabular form based on frequency value

    Hi,
    I have a page with two search items.
    Based on the values in the search item, a report is created as tabular form.
    The information displayed has a frequency column.
    Values for frequency can be Q, Y, M, D
    I would like to know if it is possible to to load the form with a standard numbers of row depending on the frequency.
    Example: If frequency is Q ,then when i click the go button in the search region, the tabular shoud load with the information displaying 4 rows, even if the information returned is less than 4 rows.
    If frequency is Y ,then when i click the go button in the search region, the tabular shoud load with the information displaying 2 rows, even if the information returned is less than 2 rows.
    When no data is found, the form should load displaying a number of empty rows depending on the frequency.
    Thanks

    Is it possible to select only certain files for Time Machine backup? Or does it automatically backup everything, including what you don't want saved?

    Time Machine will backup all user files unless you select the ones you do not wish to have backed up.  see the attached from System Preferences:
