ADF API JavaDoc JDeveloper

Hi,
does anyone know, how to include/activate the ADF-API JavaDoc in JDeveloper ? So I cann see the JavaDoc during coding...
Or do you need the ADF source code from Oracle for using Javadoc in JDeveloper ? (I ask because JavaDoc API is available on the oracle web sites..., so I think it should be possible to include those URLs in JDeveloper same way as using Javadoc from SUNs APIs (JDK) in Elcipse... ??)
Thanks in advance

Hi,
Or do you need the ADF source code from Oracle for using Javadoc in JDeveloper ?
The quick JavaDocs require the source to be available. When you click on the "Go to Javadoc" link then the same JavaDoc you see on the Oracle website is opened in JDeveloper (its part of the help)

  • I really have problems understanding adf api

    HI, please
    If some one know about a document explaining in deep adf api, INCLUDING EXAMPLESi, I'll appreciate it, thank you.
    The problem is I'm some stupid and really can't get it.
    I tried to make what I had done in oracle forms, this is finding equivalents to some of their functions, and I really can't
    For the developer team, please don't forget in the jdeveloper 12g to include an extensive group of examples.
    if you could relate to the functions and properties on oracle forms, will be great too.
    at least only for blocks.
    If you want to sell it, I think the best you improve the documentation
    the more developers will enjoy using adf api
    greeting.

    Hi Ronald I can make a simple abm, the point is to create your own personalized abm,
    The features that our navigator has are in example:
    To control the primary keys to be enabled or disabled when you navigate, and apply visual atributes depending if they are enabled or disabled.
    the display of a LOV showing a list of what you queried.
    the display of the records you had queried without quering them.
    etc.
    I can send you and example if you want to see how it works to your mail.
    But i can demostrate no body know really how adf api works, i.e. I had asked for example this
    Hi how can I execute a getQueryHitCount() on getbindings
    and no body could answer it, I was looking for an equivalent of get_block_property('block',CURRENT_RECORD)
    My point Ronald is if oracle want to sell adf, the best you have your documentation the more you will sell it.
    I'm talking of having the same documentation you had for oracle forms.
    if oracle would had done a better documentation of api maybe our customer could be using in this moment adf instead or oracle forms.
    like this http://download.oracle.com/otn_hosted_doc/forms/forms/A73074_01.pdf
    I don't want full or copmlex example only a simple reference to make understand how to perform basic functionality.
    If you could make an equivalent of every property and function in form to adf, showing a simple example will be great specialy for you to, because there will be less need of blogs and questions
    I'm showing an example of what I would like about adf features using an "adf block", to demostrate I'm not asking something you didn't do before.
    NEXT_BLOCK built-in
    Description
    Navigates to the first navigable item in the next enterable block in the navigation sequence. By default,
    the next block in the navigation sequence is the block with the next higher sequence number, as defined
    by the order of blocks in the Object Navigator. However, the Next Navigation Block block property can
    be set to specify a different block as the next block for navigation purposes.
    If there is no enterable block with a higher sequence, NEXT_BLOCK navigates to the enterable block
    with the lowest sequence number.
    Syntax
    PROCEDURE NEXT_BLOCK;
    Built-in Type restricted procedure
    Enter Query Mode no
    Parameters
    none
    NEXT_BLOCK examples
    ** Built-in: NEXT_BLOCK
    ** Example: If the current item is the last item in the
    ** block, then skip to the next block instead of
    ** the default of going back to the first item in
    ** the same block
    ** trigger: Key-Next-Item
    DECLARE
    cur_itm VARCHAR2(80) := :System.Cursor_Item;
    cur_blk VARCHAR2(80) := :System.Cursor_Block;
    lst_itm VARCHAR2(80);
    BEGIN
    lst_itm :=
    cur_blk||’.’||Get_Block_Property(cur_blk,LAST_ITEM);
    IF cur_itm = lst_itm THEN
    Next_Block;
    ELSE
    Next_Item;
    END IF;
    END;
    simple and clear the definition and a very short example.
    thank you for your time :)

  • JAVA API (javaDoc) Functionality

    Hello all
    I have come across the following idea after wasting some considerable time browsing the Java API (JavaDoc).
    The API is a great tool in assisting programmers who are not so experienced and do not know the API so well. It also helps experienced programmers in browsing foreign packages.
    However, something that is missing in the API is a function which allows you direct access to methods which return a specific object.
    Example: I need an object X, and it is not possible to initialise or directly access this object (Iterator which is infact an Interface). How do I access methods in other classes that return object X ( Iterator I = (Hashmap.keySet()).iterator(); Therefore, the method iterator() from Interface Set, and subsequently the method keySet() from class Hashmap).
    I am sure that such a functionality built in future javaDocs will help a lot of programmers browsing through the API.
    Finally, I hope this is the right forum for such requests.
    Faz

    Do you mean you want to access a method on an object but the type of the object isn't known until runtime? If this is what you mean than you might want to take a look at the Reflection API:

  • How can I create my own TopLink ADF datacontrol in JDeveloper?

    To create your own TopLink ADF datacontrol in JDeveloper follow these steps:
    Step 1. Add “ADF TopLink Runtime” library to your project
    Step 2. Extend oracle.adf.model.generic.toplink.ToplinkDataControl with new class (e.g. MyToplinkDataControl)
    import java.util.Map;
    import oracle.adf.model.generic.toplink.ToplinkDataControl;
    public class MyToplinkDataControl extends ToplinkDataControl {
         public MyToplinkDataControl(String name, Map params, String beanClassName, boolean root)
         super(name, params, beanClassName, root);
         initialize(params, beanClassName);
         protected void initialize(Map params, String beanClassName){
              super.initialize(params, beanClassName);
              getServerSession().logMessages();
    Step 3. Extend oracle.adf.model.generic.toplink.DataControlFactoryImpl with new class (e.g. MyToplinkDataControlFactory) and override DataControlFactoryImpl.createSession as follows to return an instance of MyToplinkDataControl:
    import oracle.adf.model.generic.toplink.*;
    public class MyToplinkDataControlFactory extends DataControlFactoryImpl {
    public String getDataControlClassName() {
    return "MyToplinkDataControl";
    Step 4. Edit DataBindings.cpx (you may have to go to the disk directly). Set the FactoryClass attribute of the DataControl to equal the custom factory class name.
    FactoryClass="MyToplinkDataControlFactory"

  • From where can I download the javamail api javadocs?

    I spend time at a place with slow and unreliable internet access, and prefer to install the javamail API javadocs on my PC, rather than accessing it via the internet every time.  Is it available for download, please.

    We no longer make the javadocs available for download, but...
    You can download the source code and generate the javadocs yourself.
    The javadocs are available form the maven repository.  This works well if you need them for code completion in an IDE, but not so well if you just want to browse them.

  • Is JViewport scrollRectToVisible API Javadoc ambigious or just plain wrong?

    I've been working on a JPanel derived class that demonstrates how to position the JViewport of a JScrollPane using JViewport's scrollRectToVisible method. I've got it working, but only after trial & error regarding the scrollRectToVisible's interpretation of the Rectangle input parameter.
    The issue is that the JDK API javadocs gave me the impression that the Rectangle fields "x" and "y" would specify the (x,y) coordinates of the upper right corner in absolute client area coordinates. The impression resulted from past usage of Rectangles where the "x" and "y" fields were always absolute coordinates. But my trial & error revealed that the "x" and"y" fields in the Rectangle are interpreted by scrollRectToVisible as signed relative deltas within the client area, not absolute client area coordinates.
    Here is the javadoc excerpt fom class JViewport: It does not really say how the Rectangle is interpreted...
    public void scrollRectToVisible(Rectangle contentRect)+
    Scrolls the view so that Rectangle within the view becomes visible.+
    This attempts to validate the view before scrolling if the view is currently not valid - isValid returns false. To avoid excessive validation when the containment hierarchy is being created this will not validate if one of the ancestors does not have a peer, or there is no validate root ancestor, or one of the ancestors is not a Window or Applet.+
    Note that this method will not scroll outside of the valid viewport; for example, if contentRect is larger than the viewport, scrolling will be confined to the viewport's bounds.+
    It says the "*Scrolls the view so that Rectangle within the view becomes visible.*"
    h3. *{color:#ff6600}How would you interpret this? Is this 'wrong by omission' or am I all wet?{color}*
    Here is the relevant chunk of code that operates by creating a Rectangle with deltas, not absolute coordinates. It works. The whole class is too big for this forum post, but I can put the JAR file up for download if requested...
    public class BigPanel extends JPanel implements MouseListener, MouseMotionListener {
         // Data defs and constructor omitted for brevity...
         private void scrollView() {
              SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable() {
                   @Override
                   public void run() {
                        //scrollRectToVisible(dxyRect); // WRONG, compiles OK, jumps around but mouse response is all wrong.
                        //scrollPane.scrollRectToVisible(dxyRect);  // WRONG, compiles OK, but does nothing!!!
                        scrollPane.getViewport().scrollRectToVisible(dxyRect);  // RIGHT!!!
         private void setDeltaXY(int mouseX, int mouseY) {
              // Use the base (x,y) coordinate of the view port rectangle
              // when calculating mouse coordinates (mx,my) relative to the
              // visible view port.
              Rectangle viewRect = scrollPane.getViewport().getViewRect();
              int mx = mouseX - viewRect.x;
              int my = mouseY - viewRect.y;
              // Use center of the view port rectangle as the point to subtract
              // from the mouse relative coordinate (mx,my) to calculate the
              // movement delta (dx,dy).
              int dx = mx - viewRect.width / 2;
              int dy = my - viewRect.height / 2;
              // Now create a rectangle with the delta (dx,dy) and the view port
              // (width,height) as the input to scrollRectToVisible.
              // Note that the (x,y) in the rectangle is not an absolute unsigned
              // (x,y) coordinate, but a signed relative delta (dx,dy),
              // which scrollRectToVisible uses to as the relative amount to shift.
              dxyRect = new Rectangle(dx, dy, viewRect.width, viewRect.height);
         private void moveView(MouseEvent e) {
              setDeltaXY(e.getX(), e.getY());
              scrollView();
         @Override
         public void mouseClicked(MouseEvent e) {
              info("mouseClicked");
              moveView(e);
         @Override
         public void mousePressed(final MouseEvent e) {
              info("mousePressed");
              setDeltaXY(e.getX(), e.getY());
              startRepeat();
         @Override
         public void mouseReleased(MouseEvent e) {

    I'm Barkin up the wrong tree, Huh?I think Darryl is right.
    I tried it as you suggested, on the JScrollpane instance, not the JScrollpane's JViewport. The results were not what I expected of absolute or relative coordinate systems.You got it wrong, try calling scrollRectToVisible on the component being scrolled i.e. viewport view.
    I have written a class which demonstrates working of scrollRectToVisible, that may help you:

    Venkat

    Hi,
    hard to tell what the problem is because all that the stack trace tells us is that you are invoking a bounded taskflow from a browser. If the bounded taskflow is built with pages (not page fragments) then this should bring up the default activity.

  • 8.1 security API Javadocs (downloadable)??????

    I am trying to find a downloadable version of the BEA Server 8.1 security API Javadocs.
    I am not always able to be online do I would like to get a downloaded version

    I don't think it is possible to download just the security docs. All the
    javadoc can be dowloaded from http://edocs/wls/docs81/pdf.html.

  • ADF Security in JDeveloper 11

    Hi
    Is there any focument for ADF Security in JDeveloper 11, i found document for ADF Security in JDeveloper 10.1.3.2 but its different than 11g.
    Regards

    There is a section in the Fusion Developer Guide documentation, and Franks has a set of online demos here:

  • Javadocs / APIs for Jdeveloper classes - Where?

    Probably a dumb question. Where can we find the API definitions for JDeveloper class (ie JUNavigationBar, EntityObject, EntityRow, EntityView, etc)

    Hi,
    You can access them either from within the JDeveloper help system (reference topic near the end), or by expanding the following zip file:
    {JDEV_HOME}/jdev/doc/ohj/bc4jjavadoc.zip

  • Using WebCenter Spaces Web Service API through JDeveloper's Data Control

    Hi,
    I'm trying to access WebCenter Spaces Web Service API (located at http://host:port/webcenter/SpacesWebService)
    using JDeveloper's Web Center Data Control.
    I created a data control in my portal project using JDeveloper's Web Service Data Control wizard.
    I also created and configured key stores (jps-config.xml) at both sides (spaces server and my portal client).
    How I created a data control:
    * First I entered the name and the URL (http://host:port/webcenter/SpacesWebService?WSDL)
    * Then I entered HTTP basic authentication details (user name and password)
    * After that I drag-and-drop the getGroupSpaces() method from the data control to a .jspx page as a ADF read-only table.
    * Then ran my portal project and navigated to this .jspx page and it worked. List of group spaces appeared well on that page.
    The problem is that I got only public group spaces and group spaces created by the user I entered on HTTP basic authentication details.
    I makes no sense to enter some static user details in a web service client (or a data control).
    So the question is; can I use identity propagation to get only group spaces created by the same user which I logged in my portal?

    Hi,
    You generally get NameError when you are executing the createCred/updateCred from a incorrect location. Are you using the wlst from oracle_common\common\bin?
    Also, In your steps I don't see what you did to populate the walllet at JDeveloper end after your updateCred failed. This is a required step. Use the wlst from the location emntioned above and you should be able to proceed.
    Thanks,

  • TABLE APIs in Jdeveloper

    Jdeveloper 10g on Windows XP
    Very new to this tool and exploring it for DB model/db design functionality. Coming from designer background, is there a way to generate Table APIS for the generated entities in Jdeveloeper? I searched this forum, but one solution was where the author talked about redoing the plsql api package in Java. Thats not what I am looking for. I would prefer to have the plsql api package generated via Jdeveloper?
    (As much little that I know about this, I think Jdeveloeper does support plsql)
    If so, how can we do this..If not, whats the alternative? Would appreciate some pointers where I can read/dig this further.
    Thanks
    SR

    SR,
    No, there is not really any function in JDev to generate PL/SQL table API's. I did see a paper presented at the UKOUG earlier this year where someone had used ADF Business Components with table API's, but they had done that by writing a code generator that generated all of the java code (much like what you've already found).
