ADF BC project migration errors from 10.1.3.3 - 11g TP2

Hi all,
I have a current 10.1.3.3 project using ADF BC and Faces that I have been testing to migrate to 11g TP2. My question is specifically about the BC project. Although the migration wizard completes without error or warning, I end up with some issues in the migrated project. There is one that I have not been able to rectify (short of re-creating my BC objects) where attempting to use the Application Module gives weird errors about view links not being specified properly. I have tried migrating the project several times and receive the same issue each time.
My question: should I just wait for TP3 and re-attempt the migration to see if the issue goes away, or should I provide the application to someone at Oracle to have a look at? I can provide a checkout only password for our Subversion repository if that would help as well.

If you open the project in the 11g preview it will automatically update the metadata and generate the deployment XML in the new format. Alternatively you should be able to open the 10.1.3.3 metadata in the 11g preview's runtime.
The biggest issue you may encounter in the upgrade besides replacing the libraries and ensuring you are using JDK5 is the removal of the code deprecated in previous releases.

Migration error from 8.1.7.4 to 9.2.1

Hi to everybody. I'm upgrading my production DB from 8174 to 921 with Manual upgrade. I review all the manual for this upgrading. The problem is a big problem : after launching u0801070.sql, the "Oracle 9i Packages and Types" section has marked as "INVALID". The log files created during the script is not very useful, as it tell me some "view created with compilation error" or "package created with compilation error", but it never tell me which one or where it is in the scripts. Can anybody help me ?

Why not generating adf bc projects and components from offline database

I imported offline database objects from my production database that is big. I would like designing some business components without necessarily the database running and be connected.
Is it a reason why an adf bc project may necessarily connect to an on line database ?
Why it is not possible to generate adf bc components from off line database objects ?

The ADF BC design time has always required a database connection, to be able to test the validity of expert-mode SQL statement for one reason, but not the only one. We have not lifted that requirement in the 11g release.

We need to perform an impact analysis on migratiing an application from Oracle 9i to Oracle 11g. Does any of you have a detailed checklist to follow, in terms of queries, PL/SQL statements, optimizer etc. etc., when attempting this migration. We require something more specific from the application point of view rather than a DBA point of view.
Additionally, we have queries written extensively with rule hints. Should there be a special consideration for the same since now we are moving to CBO in 11g

Datasource migration error from 3.5 to BI 7.0 - SP16

During Master data/text Datasource migration from 3.5 to BI 7.0 using export option, system migrates the datasource and shows error message 'The OLTP source 0COSTCENTER_ATTR for source system EC3150 not present', at the same replicate data source does not find a datasource. At the same time unable to replicate datasource. If you go outside the session and come back, everything works fine.
BI 7.0 system package level is SP16, upgrade to the system was done some time back.
Pls. share your experience in migration 3.5 datasources to BI 7.0 for both Master data and Transaction data.
Did any one experience similar issue like this?

I get the same error with a different object after upgrading a BI Business Content data source from 3.x to 7.0
It tells me "The OLTP source 2LIS_08TRTK for source system RD1CLNT230 not present".

I got same problem, but not for migration from 10g to 11g.
Here I do:
1. Install JDeveloper 11g Release 1 version 11.1.1.2 (JDEVADF_11.1.1.2.0_GENERIC_091029.2229.5536)
2. Using windows > check for updates > install from local files I put Oracle SOA Composite editor 11.1.1.2.1.12.16 zip file (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/101/update/fmw_products.xml), and perform update.
After that, here I got:

Forms migration error from 11.5.10 to R12

First and foremost, your question is not just related to Oracle Forms - it is more specific to the Oracle Enterprise Business Suite (EBS) so you really should have asked your question in the General EBS Discussion forum. Not everyone in this forum is familiar with or have worked with the EBS (although some of us have). :)
Is the CROARCBP.fmx an Oracle supplied form or custom form? If it is an Oracle supplied form - then you need to contact Oracle Support to get this fixed.
If it is a Custom form, then you need to open the form - go to the CTOAR_CASHBOOK_PARAMETERS Data Block and determine which database column should be the Primary Key. You will need to look at the Base Table of the block to figure out which column should have the PRIMARY KEY property set to yes. If the primary key column is not part of your Data Block, then I suggest you add the PK column. If the table doesn't have a PK defined, then pick the column that is the most unique and designate it as the PK column in your form's data block.
Could you tell me....where i can set the property. As I mentioned above, you set the Primary Key property on the correct Item in your Form's Data Block.

Problem migrating ear from Oracle AS 10g to 11g.

I need to deploy an ear file in Oracle AS 11g. The ear has war in it.
The ear file has uix pages and the supporting files (EOs and VOs).
Using Oracle AS 10g:
Here, i used to create a OC4J container and deploy the ear in this container.
Using Oracle AS 11g:
As there is no OC4J container support here, I have to deploy the ear in the
weblogic server. I am facing problems doing so.
In weblogic console,
1) I have created a server and got it running.
2) Went to 'Deployments' page and clicked on 'Install'.
3) Entered the path for the ear file and pressed 'Next'
I am getting the following error:

I had also tried out something else...
I am now portalizing the ADF application using PortalFacesBridge and portlet.xml. Then I deploy it on the Local OC4J of my system and expose it as a WSRP Portlet using the url: 'http://hostname:portname/warFileName/info and generating a WSDL URL...
I am then using this WSDL URL to regester this portalized application on the Oracle Portal10.1.4 which i am able to accomplish successfully...
However after regestration, when I try to view this on the portal page, It is throwing the following error:-
Error: Could not get markup. The cookie or session is invalid or there is a runtime exception.
Also I would like to add that this method was working perfectly fine previously...
What might be the clue for this sudden error...

Additionally, I had to tell the Internet E-mail Mailbox Migration Wizard to use the "Individual Account Credentials" option since I was able to specify each account password in the CSV file when adding the mailboxes to Microsoft Online Services Migration
Tools console.
Just to note, the users had to manually export their contacts to a CSV file and calendars to iCal (ICS) files in order to import those items into Outlook.
I hope this will benefit others since Microsoft doesn't seem to have a custom, specifically defined migration strategy for this scenario. With Google Apps being in direct competition with BPOS/Office365, I assumed that Microsoft would have a simple
strategy using something like ActiveSync to facilitate the migration of email, contacts, calendar entries, etc. Hopefully we'll see something along those lines become available in a future release of the migration tools.

I used "Migration Assistant" to send everything from my old mac to my new which included my copy of Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional. I tried downloading an update but when it asked me to find the version of acrobat to replace it was grayed out and I was unable to select it. My OS is 10.9.4

Error occurs when I open the tasks list in MS Project Professional 2013 from SharePoint 2013

I have created a SharePoint 2010 workflow for a tasks list that updates a list item column if the Date Complete <= Today's date & Percentage Complete = 100%
I used 'Set Field in Current Item' in the workflow & the values are updated in the list for the current item.
However, when I open the tasks list in MS Project Professional 2013 from SharePoint 2013, then I get a error "We can't write task - taskname to the SharePoint site. This is either because tasks list is in read only mode or because this task has a column
that requires unique value."
If I remove the 'Set Field in Current Item' in the workflow, then the error does not occur. However, the 'Set Field in Current Item' in the workflow is required.
Please provide solution to this issue ASAP. Your reply will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jack,
A shot in the dark here. I'm not convinced the error is from the workflow. What is the definition of the list item column in SharePoint? Have you set the column to requiring a unique vale? Look at the column definition.
