ADF BC - Readonly VO

Hi All,
I want to understand the behaviour of transient attribute in Read-only VO.
1. I have created a read only VO (Read-only access through SQL query).
2. Added a transient boolean attribute to the read only VO with always updatable.
3. Created a table from VO, Check box column created from the boolean transient attribute.
When I check the checkbox in UI, it is not updating the boolean attribute in VO. Can a transient 'always updatable' attribute in read-only VO be updatable from he UI?

Just to add some more details..
I am trying to create EO from a data base materilaview(no primary key and none of the columns are unique). I wanted to create check box in ADF table row for row selection and get all selected rows in VO. The boolean transient attribute is added to know the row is selected or not.
JDev version: 11.1.1.4

In ADF 11g, when render view object as readonly table with Single RowsSelection, using IE browser can not select and copy data from the cell, but it work in firefox.
is it a bug?

We are using 11.1.1.7 and IE 9.
I tried in Google but could not get the solution.

Readonly Input Text in ADF

Hi,
I've two questions below,
1. I want to create an ADF input text , which looks like a normal textbox but user cannot input anything in it(same as <input type="text" readonly="true">) . Is there any way to have an input text like that by using adf component? ( I do not want to use disabled="true" because it looks very different and cannot add an error message to that component if it's disabled)
2. I know JSF input text can work as required in #1 by using <h:inputText id="it4" readonly=true/>. But if I use JSF input text , its css style looks very different to other af:inputText on the pages. Is there any way to apply ADF CSS style class to <h:inputText id="it4" readonly=true/>

Programmatically Set ReadOnly in an ADF Table using EL

I have a requirement to allow updates only on the first record returned in a query returning multiple records - two of columns in the record can be updated and the rest are read-only by default.
The records will be ordered so the most recently added record is displayed first and update-able.
I would like to use EL to return a TRUE or FALSE within the ReadOnly column in the ADF table columns.
Is there an EL expression that will indicated a "first record" that I can then compare to a static value?
Something like: #{currentRowNum = 1}
Is there a better approach to only allowing the first record to be updated, and setting the remaining records to be read-only?

You could disable the fields if the row selected is not the first row of the view. Almost all of the af: control has the disabled or readOnly attribute available.

Urgent: how to traverse through records using ADF ReadOnly Form

Hi Guru's,
I am new to ADF.
I am having an requirement where i need to show the records in "ADF Read Only Form" where my query fetch more than one record, now i want to traverse through all the record as we do in ADF Table. How can i achieve this using ADF Readonly Form.
Please suggest me on urgent basis.

What is your JDev version? Did you try setting the rowSelection property of the table?

ADF FACES: font problems on readOnly selectOneChoice

The output text from an af:selectOneChoice with readOnly="true" is a different font than with readOnly="false" and different than af:inputText with readOnly="true".
Looking at the generated html, the output from a readOnly selectOneChoice has no class associated with it. The other text elements are given class="x4" (which I think equates to a styleClass of OraFieldText).
Also, I can't change the font by specifying a styleClass on the af:selectOneChoice - it appears to have no effect on the output html.
This seems like a bug.

You're right that when the selectOneChoice is in readOnly mode, its selectedItem does not have a styleClass associated with it and that setting a styleClass on the readOnly selectOneChoice does not set the styleClass on its selectedItem. This is a bug. Thanks for pointing it out.

In my tests, setting the styleClass attribute on the af:selectOneChoice tag does result in correct markup with a styleClass set on the actual HTML Select control (although, the label doesn't get the user defined styleClass, which is correct behavior). Are you seeing output that doesn't match this?

Adf Readonly table to Editable

Hi All
I am using JDev 9.0.5.2. I need an editable table from an adf viewobject. Here is what I do:
1. I create a view.
2. On my jsp page I drag a readonly table from my data controls onto the page. There is no editable table option in this version of Jdev.
3.I drag a create button onto the jsp page.
Problem
When I hit create, nothing happens.
I go to the Ui Model to have a look at the action for the create button and its action is set to create. There are a list of other actions that can be assigned to this button but there is no insert or new action.
Can anyone help with this

open the Create action and set it to CreateInsert to create a new record. Note that you have to navigate to a page that has an editable form based on the VO

ADF ReadOnly InputText

Hello All
i have a read only ADF filed on my screen ,when i am trying to chnage it is value from JavaScript code it does not changed ,but if i replace the read only attribute with disabled it changed but when i submit the page the disabled input text value dose not submitted to the backing bean.
is there a css that make the input text filed locked(like disabled filed).
What i want :
locked input text filed (i.e. user can not change it is value from the component just he can change it from java script code) and when the user submit the form the new value delivered to the backing bean.

hello,
Your working 'around' ADF but if you want this with javascript I would suggest.
Let the field be readonly for the use.
Create a hidden input field with the same value.
Change the value for that hidden field which is invisible for the user.
The value will be send to the backing bean.

ADF Swing Search form based on readonly VO

Hello,
Does somebody know how to use the JUNavigationBar search form, when it is binded to ViewObject, that is readonly?

Hi,
you could create your own parameter form and pass the data to a method on the ApplicationModule that hen applied the ViewCriteria. Alternatively you add bind variables to the query and use a form based on the ExecuteWithParams operation

ADF: Mandatory symbol for ReadOnly input fields

Hi All,
I am using JDeveloper 11.1.2 version. I am creating sample login window. In that there is Input Text filed called "old Password" which should be readOnly always [It will display oldPassword value]. When I ran my page in OldPassword field, mandatory symbol is not displaying. Eventhough I gave required="true" and showRequired="true" in jsff file, I am getting same output. The input Text is not ViewObject based. I am just binding ManagedBean variable value to that Input field to display oldPassword value.

This is the normal behavior, as a workaround you can surround the input text with af:panelLabelAndMessage and set its showRequired property to true.

1) My requirement is that if the other column called "EndDate" got any value ( any date value) then the "InActive" checkbox need to be autoselected.
And the users have the option of the de-selecting it.
2) The requirement is such a way that based on this "EndDate" column we are assuming that the current row/records is active or inactive in database.
So using this checkbox attribute, if the checkBox is selected for the row, then we are setting the "EndDate" column with "sysdate" and if they are unselecting any exisiting
checkbox, the same row will get updated with "EndDate" to null. Every thing is working fine for me with the code I have.
3) The road block I'm facing here is that I'm setting the attribute 'selected="#{row.EndDt != null ? true : false}" '. This is properly setting the checkbox "Inactive" values based on the "EndDate" column from the
database. But the entire check box column becomes read only, which does not allow me to edit.
4) If I set the value expression for the "Inactive" transient boolen attribute at the VO level, with the following as the value expression: 'EndDt != null ? true : false', if also sets the checkbox values properly, and moreover
the check box also editable, which is what we are expecting, but on submission of the page, the checkbox attribute is still pointing to the old/default value even though we change the value of the checkbox.
For example if the checkbox was got selected on load of the page, and if I unselects, and submits, it still shows that checkbox value as true.

Adf table with detail stamp , not able to close the detail stamp

i'm using 11g adf jdeveloper.
I'm using adf table to display records of XXXVO.In table i have used detail stamp, in which i have drag XXXVO read-only form and used a ADD button which call a pop-up with createInsert of the XXXVO form with submit button.In pop i have used a drop downlist of other YYYVO. I have used another button Edit which call the same pop-up, using show pop-up.
Issue is when i run the application i can open the detail stamp and close but i couldn't get the selected record on the table in edit mode pop up. if i give partial trigger in pop-up of table id . den i'm getting the selected record in edit pop up. but detail stamp is not working .

Urgent help needed in achieving below ADF 11g flow

Hi, I am using JDEV 11.1.1.2.0 with ADF 11g.
I have a below requirement.
Say in below eg. I am getting col1, col2, col3 from a single tbl in screen 1. On clicking col1's row I should go to screen 2
Screen1
Col1     Col2     Col3
Nm1     Code1     10
Nm1     Code1     30
Nm2     Code1     30
Nm1     Code2     20
Here in screen 2 I will have a calculated field as shown below. Besides this In the same screen I will have a list showing distinct of col2 for the value cliked in col1. So here in this eg. it will be for Nm1 I will have 2 values in the list Code1 and Code2.

Code2
Now here if user selects the radio of 'Code2' Then my above data should change as below

I do this by passing the col1 value as a param to a query VO.
I have tried this using different VOs like a VO with query, VO with user defined column... nothing helps.
I am just unable to reach to screen 2. I am either getting invalid column OR missing in out parameters.
Can any one help on how and what should be done? This is not even master-details stuff. master-details seems easier than this.
Urgent help is needed.

I have resolved your problem and build a sample application.
You have to create 2 views and use master detail.
First view will be a simple view for the page 1 and second view will be readonly using group by. Then create a view link between them.

Jdev 11.1.1.5 R1 How To Get Row Data From ADF Table

Hi everyone,
I have an ADF Table Populated with dummy data (for now). Below the Table there is an InputText field.
What I need to do is have the body of the message show up in the InputText field when the user clicks on a message in the inbox(Table).
I've been trying to figure this out for quite some time now, unsuccessfully of course. Hopefully you guys can help me change that.
I do consider myself a beginner still, so please be as clear and specific as possible.
