Programmatically Set ReadOnly in an ADF Table using EL

I have a requirement to allow updates only on the first record returned in a query returning multiple records - two of columns in the record can be updated and the rest are read-only by default.
The records will be ordered so the most recently added record is displayed first and update-able.
I would like to use EL to return a TRUE or FALSE within the ReadOnly column in the ADF table columns.
Is there an EL expression that will indicated a "first record" that I can then compare to a static value?
Something like: #{currentRowNum = 1}
Is there a better approach to only allowing the first record to be updated, and setting the remaining records to be read-only?
Thanks in advance...

You could disable the fields if the row selected is not the first row of the view. Almost all of the af: control has the disabled or readOnly attribute available.

  • Is there a way to create ADF Table using a bean

    Hi,
    I am using JDev 11g 11.1.1.2.0.
    I am reading an excel sheet and want to generate an ADF table using the same. I already have hold on excel data.
    But when I go through the RichTable API, I find that there is no method to add Columns and Rows. Most or all the methods work on the table UI Looks attribute.
    Any suggestion? Am I missing a method OR 2 here?
    Pls note: The excel (CSV file) using which I am populating my table, will vary for different user. i.e.
    say user 1 will upload a CSV file with 7cols and 100 rows while
    user 2 will upload the CSV file that has 2 cols and 100 rows.
    Hope this makes it clear of my requirements and why I want to populate the table from a bean.
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to set default value of a table using sequence number

    Dear all,
    Does any body know that how to set default value of a table
    using sequence number.
    But I don't want to use trigger to do that.
    Please help!!!!
    Eldon

    Andrew is essentially correct. You can get around the trigger,
    but not the sequence, if (and this may be a very big if) you can
    guarantee that every time an insert is done into the table, from
    whatever source, the statement looks something like
    INSERT INTO tbl VALUES (sequence.nextval,other_columns_values)

  • Display data on ADF table using a VO binded to a message.properties file

    Hi,
    I want to display data in a JSPX page using ADF table which is based on a ViewObject. The attributes of the ViewObject should get it's value from a abc.properties file(static file).How can i achieve this.
    thanks in advance.
    regards,
    Himanshu.

    Hi Himanshu,
    When you create a VO based on static values, all of the records from your VO are generated into the MessageBundel.properties file like this
    devguide.entity.ViewObj.SL_0_0=1
    devguide.entity.ViewObj.SL_0_1=<val1>
    devguide.entity.ViewObj.SL_0_2=<val2>
    devguide.entity.ViewObj.SL_1_0=2
    devguide.entity.ViewObj.SL_1_1=<val1>
    devguide.entity.ViewObj.SL_1_2=<val2>
    You could add more lines to the properties files maintaining the same pattern. Also noticed that you can read all the values from a CSV file as well.
    The last resource is to programmatically read the file and start creating new rows on the VO, which won't use any of the declarative tools for VOs.

  • How to programmatically change style in an ADF table

    Hi,
    I got an ADF table generated form my data controls.
    But I need to change de style of every cell in my backing bean.
    I can't really find anything usefull on google, hopefully you guys can provide me with some usefull information.

    I got my answer somewhere else :
    >
    Based on the comments we now know that you use jdev 11.1.2.2.0. What you can do is to bind the styleClass property of the table to a backing bean property. The property in the bean has a getter and a setter method. In the setter method you can get all the values you need from the row and do you calculation. Based on the outcome you return the name of a style class suitable for the cell. The different style classes you define in a skin fro the application. If you e.g. defien the following style classes in your skin
    .high_value { background-color:green; }
    .negative_value { background-color:red;}
    and in a bean in request scope, which you access from the page the table is on
        private String styleForCell;
    public String getStyleForCell()
        // get the value of the cell
        FacesContext lContext = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
        ELContext lELContext = lContext.getELContext();
        ExpressionFactory lExpressionFactory = lContext.getApplication().getExpressionFactory();
        Number val;
        val = (Number) lExpressionFactory.createValueExpression(lELContext, "#{row.valargument}", Object.class).getValue(lELContext);
        if (val == null)
            return "";
        // do the calculation and return the suitable style class
        int ival = val.intValue();
        if (ival >= 100000 )
            return "high_value";
        else if (ival < 0)
            return "negative_value";
        else
            return "";
    public void setStyleForCell(String aStyleForCell)
        this.styleForCell = aStyleForCell;
    }Now you can access the calculated style class from the tables column styleClass property as #{beanname.styleForCell} This will call the method for each cell of the column.

  • How can i set some values to adf table(non bound to database)?

    hi
    i want to display some datas to an empty adf table on click of a button?
    My jdev version is 11.1.2.2
    Thanxxx

    There are a couple of ways of displaying data in an adf table if its not bound to a database.
    1. You can create a programmatic view object and populate it at run time(i.e. click of a button) and display the view object as a table.
    2. You can create a list of POJO objects and populate your adf table programmatically.
    By the way from where are you getting the data. Can you explain your use case a little more?
    Hope it helps.

  • Moving Rows in ADF Table Using Drag and Drop

    I implemented a drag and drop functionality it works fine, I want to accomplish the following functionality:
    The user selects the rows and what if he drags the selected rows and wants to move to section beyond the limit of the table I want to scroll the table in the direction the user is dragging.
    I think it should be a default behavior in the ADF table but it doesn't, could you please anyone tell me how to scroll the table while dragging the selected rows?
    Thank you,

    What make you think that this is a default behavior?
    Adf tables a data bound. So the data appears in an order (mostly defined by a sort condition on the db).
    Even if you implement this behavior (which is possible but hard to do) you loose the new order by the next round trip to the db.
    You may try to use trinidad tables but then you don't have the drag & drop featur (I guess).

  • Error in Query Result on ADF Table using "ROLLUP"

    Hi, I use Jdeveloper 11.1.2.3.0
    My problem is whenever i run and test my query (on SQL Developer 3.2 release) which has a "Rollup" command, it shows the accurate result with the total and subtotals in the right place as i want it..... But after configuring it on my ADF application via ADF Table, whenever i run it, the subtotals are scattered and misplaced (not being at the position they are meant to be like in SQL Developer)..........
    Please is there a possible way to correct this or is there something im not getting right?
    Please i await any good suggestions or corrections...
    Thank you.
    OBYYS.

    Hi,
    maybe you want to share how from ADF you access your query. Do you use ADF BC, EJB, POJO (with JDBC) to issue the call? If you use ADF BC, how is the value displayed in the tester? Note that SQL Developer just prints the result of a query wheras a table requires you to provide row/column values even for rows that define totals. I assume this to be your problem.

  • Multiple row selection in ADF Table using addition column with checkbox

    I am using ADF table(Jdeveloper11g) and i want to selecte multiple rows it may be more than one OR all rows.
    For that i added one Column to the table with Header Delete and checkbox
    <af:table....
    <af:column sortProperty="Delete" headerText="Delete" width="100"
    sortable="false">
    <af:selectBooleanCheckbox label="#{row.favoriteId}"
    valueChangeListener="#{Mybean.onCheck}"
    id="checkbox" autoSubmit="true">
    </af:selectBooleanCheckbox>
    </af:column>
    </af:table>
    backing bean:Here i added code to get Value of one column with id favoriteId and use an arrayList(listForDelete) to monitor the state of the checkboxes
    public void onCheck(ValueChangeEvent valueChangeEvent) {
    BindingContainer bindings = getBindings();
    DCBindingContainer dcBindings =
    (DCBindingContainer)BindingContext.getCurrent().getCurrentBindingsEntry();
    DCIteratorBinding iterBind =
    (DCIteratorBinding)bindings.get("getUserFavoritesByUserIDIterator");
    if (iterBind != null && iterBind.getCurrentRow() != null) {
    RichSelectBooleanCheckbox ch = (RichSelectBooleanCheckbox)valueChangeEvent.getSource();
    if (!ch.isSelected()) {
    Long issueId = (Long)iterBind.getCurrentRow().getAttribute("favoriteId");
    listForDelete.add(issueId);
    else
    Long issueId = (Long)iterBind.getCurrentRow().getAttribute("favoriteId");
    listForDelete.remove(issueId);
    Problem is that when i select single row checkBox, onCheck() method of backing bean gets called multiple times(equals to the number of rows)
    I think this is beacuse of <af:selectBooleanCheckbox id is same that is "checkbox" but i am not sure.Even i tried to assign some unique id but no any success in assigning Id with value Expression.
    I also find related post
    Re: ADF Table Multiple row selection by Managed Bean
    but that is related to Select All rows or Deselect all rows from table.
    From the simillar post i follow the steps given by Frank.but problem with below step
    ->have an af:clientAttribute assigned to the checkbox with the following EL #{row.key} ,here I added <af:clientAttribute name="#{row.key}"></af:clientAttribute> and i am getting error
    Error(64,37):  Static attribute must be a String literal, its illegal to specify an expression.
    Please let me know if any one had already implemented same test case.

    just to update after the rollback is called in the cancel button i wrote following code which does not change the row focus to the first row
    DCBindingContainer bc =
    (DCBindingContainer)BindingUtils.getBindingContext().getCurrentBindingsEntry();
    DCIteratorBinding profItr =
    bc.findIteratorBinding("ProfileSearchInstIterator");

    profItr.setCurrentRowIndexInRange(0);
    RowKeySetImpl rks = new RowKeySetImpl();
    ArrayList keyList = new ArrayList();
    keyList.add(cRow.getKey());
    rks.add(keyList);
    profileTable.setSelectedRowKeys(rks);
    AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addPartialTarget(profileTable);

  • How to add static data in ADF table using ADF 11g?

    Hi
    Can any one tell me how can I add static data in ADF table?
    Thanks

    You can try this one. I created this static table just for viewing purpose.
    Open Create View Object wizard
    Choose, “Rows populated programmatically, not based on a query” which is 3rd radio button option
    In Attribute tab, create some ‘Updatable’ Attributes
    Choose the AppModule in the final step.
    Drag and drop the view object as ADF table.
    Next, programmatically insert data in your backing bean.
            ApplicationModule applicationModule = this.getApplicationModuleForDataControl("TmpTableAppModuleDataControl");
            ViewObject vo = applicationModule.findViewObject("ProgViewObj1");
            Row newRow = vo.createRow();
            newRow.setAttribute("updAttr1", value1);
            newRow.setAttribute("updAttr2", value2);
            vo.insertRow(newRow);If you add this code in buton action you have to add button's partialTriggers to table id.

  • ADF 11g - Refreshing adf:Table using af:poll and ValueExpressions

    Hi,
    I am trying refresh an ADF Read-only table with the af:poll component.
    I could see the System.out message in console and Browser activity (refreshing) because of af:poll method.
    But, the values are not getting updated until I refresh the page manually and removing the "?_adf.ctrl-state=1228194074_3" part from the Browser URL.
    Please find the code which I am using:
    System.out.println("Updating table");
    FacesContext fctx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    *ValueBinding dcb = fctx.getApplication().createValueBinding("#{bindings}");*
    DCBindingContainer bindings = (DCBindingContainer)dcb.getValue(fctx);
    DCIteratorBinding dciter =bindings.findIteratorBinding("DepartmentsIterator");
    Key current_row_key = dciter.getCurrentRow().getKey();
    dciter.executeQuery();
    dciter.setCurrentRowWithKey(current_row_key.toStringFormat(true));
    Also, I could see createValueBinding / ValueBinding is deprecated and replaced by ValueExpression.
    Is this causing any issues or is there any working sample of the same in ADF 11g.

  • Problem setting the fillColor on dynamic tables using javascript

    I try to set the background color on some text fields that I put in a dynamic table. When I set the border color, everything works fine, but not with the fillColor. If I set the fillColor for the enter event for example, the field will only get a colored border, and when I click another field, the field turns completely colored. If I set an exit event with a different color, the field flickers before changing back to white. This happens in dynamic tables only. I am using Designer 8 on Windows XP. This problem has been confirmed by others, and in different forms.

    this.border.fill.color.value = "value" works for me
    value is in 255,255,255 rgb format

  • Setting row level field in table using jQuery

    Hi,
    I'm utilising the following to read and then set values in the same row within a report.
    Re: Referencing a row level field value in an Interactive Report using jquery
    Consider the following snippet
    // read information eg
    var row = $x_UpTill(this.triggeringElement, 'TR');
    var dateCompleted = $('input[name="f03"]', row)[0];
    console.log(dateCompleted.value);
    // write information eg
    var dateBooked = $('input[name="f02"]', row)[0];
    //dateBooked.value = 'xyz'; // sets to xyz, as expected
    dateBooked.value = return_date; // sets the actual code, not returning stringAll works as I'd expect except the last line. I have a js function returning a formatted string (Set Date With Javascript but in this case my field now contains the actual code definition, not the date string the function actually returns.
    I'm thinking I'm just misunderstanding a simple concept for JavaScript here?
    A simple workaround could be to create field P0_SYSDATE, calculated to TO_CHAR(SYSDATE,:F_DATE_FORMAT), then apply
    dateBooked.value = $v('P0_SYSDATE');but I'm trying to improve my understanding of javascript/jQuery...
    Cheers,
    Scott

    So are you saying that return_date is an actual javascript function that returns the formated string/date you want?
    If so, then I think you simply need parenthesis to run the function:
    dateBooked.value = return_date();Or... am I missing something here?
    Thanks
