ADF - Disable browser popup on exception

Hello,
I'm using ADF 11.1.1.4 and am curious if you can disable the default browser popups that show when an exception is thrown. I'm not talking about the 'pretty' ones that show the <af:message> and <af:messages>, I'm talking about the one that looks like a Javascript/default browser popup and contains a message like:
java.lang.NullPointerException
ADF_FACES-60097:For more information, please see the server's error log for an entry beginning with: ADF_FACES-60096:Server Exception during PPR, #5I can get these if I throw a runtime exception (e.g. NullPointerException) from an actionListener attached to a button. This can be thrown in my case from a backing bean attached to page fragment running in a bounded task flow. I have an exception handler attached to an error view in that taskflow but it doesn't render, the exception is propagated right up to the browser and shows in this popup.
Any idea if this is possible? Tried searching for error handling in ADF docs and general googling but couldn't find anything.

Thanks Prateek, the blog is pretty clear on what the file should be but this .adf directory thing isn't working for me. Let me describe what I have and maybe you can point out where I'm going wrong.
So I have an app that looks something like:
MyApp
   |
   |-------- Proj1
   |-------- Proj2
   |-------- Proj3
   |-------- ViewController
   |                |
   |                |---- ... (files)
   |                |---- ViewController.jpr
   |
   |-------- MyApp.jwsWhen I first started following the instructions I didn't have a .adf directory anywhere in that tree but it looked like there was one in my <JDEVHOME>\o.j2ee\drs\MyApp directory. I first added the file there manually but when I redeployed the app through the IDE the file was removed or overwritten with nothing. Then I figured I should put it in the source somewhere so it gets written to where it needs to go. First I tried putting it in the root directory of the application (MyApp) but it didn't deploy, then I tried putting it in the ViewController project but it didn't deploy either.
To run my app I just right click a JSP and click run. When deploying to higher environments I package up the app using ant. I just want to get it working locally first so I can debug and test some stuff but eventually it needs to be able to be packaged up.
Where do you put your .adf directory? Does it contain anything else except for META-INF\services\<myfile>?
Thanks for your help so far, there isn't much info on this out there.

  • How to disable browser back button in Oracle ADF

    I need to disable browser back button in an ADF web application.
    The back button is not disabled but if I click it after visiting main page (e.g. from the page after main to the main page) it returns to the second page. I would to diasble the back button at all. Is it possible? If you know something specifically for ADF application (also without using javascript) the answer is welcome.

  • Deploying ADF Mobile Browser Sample App in JDeveloper 11.1.2.3

    Hi,
    I had problem in deploying the sample app for ADF Mobile Browser in JDeveloper 11.1.2.3.
    I had tried every solution such as replacing web.xml for the Sample App with web.xml created in JDeveloper 11.1.2.3.
    I could not find the Jar file for the oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.bi.facelets.graph.RichSeriesSetHandler in the web also.
    Please help to solve this problem as I had tried for many days.

    Hi Frank,
    Thanks for the fast response.
    Based on your advice, I had try to comment out all usage of graph in jsp, web.xml, and data binding file.
    But even after perform these, I still facing the same problem.
    For your information, RichSeriesSetHandler does not exist in the oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.bi.facelets.
    I suspecting RichSeriesSetHandler is configured in the app and it occur this error as it could not find the class.
    I had try to search this usage of this class in the app but there is no results found.

  • Blocking popup windows even when disabling the popup blocker

    For quite some time now, Firefox has been blocking essential popup windows on my computer. It's not just those annoying ones, even those when I am trying to write an email and similar things. I have disabled the popup blocker and it does not change anything at all. It does not alert me that it has blocked anything either, it is simply as if I never clicked anything in the first place. I have tried adding exceptions to my popup blocker, and this does not work either. This is really frustrating and is interfering with my daily use of firefox, and forces me to use crappy explorer which does not block things. What can I do?

    Hi Sachin
    Thank you so much for the reply.
    About your request, the codes that I used are:
    HTML for the PopUp:
    <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
    function popUp(URL) {
    var iMyWidth;
    var iMyHeight;
    //half the screen width minus half the new window width (plus 5 pixel borders).
    iMyWidth = (window.screen.width/2) - (250 + 10);
    //half the screen height minus half the new window height (plus title and status bars).
    iMyHeight = (window.screen.height/2) - (225 + 50);
    //Open the window.
    var win2 = window.open("http://xarao.businesscatalyst.com/caipiroska.html","Window2","status=no,height=450,width=500,resizable=yes,left=" + iMyWidth + ",top=" + iMyHeight + ",screenX=" + iMyWidth + ",screenY=" + iMyHeight + ",toolbar=no,menubar=no,scrollbars=no,location=no,directories=no");
    win2.focus();
    </SCRIPT>
    For the Link:
    javascript:popUp('http://xarao.businesscatalyst.com/caipiroska.html')
    Of course for all the different links in the page I've changed the http of each image in both codes.

    Thank you once more.

  • Webcenter Portal Support for ADF Mobile Browser

    Hi All,
    I am currently working on an ADF Mobile Browser Application for WebCenter Portal.
    The main issue I face is that WebCenter has some really powerful taskflows and connectors. Is it possible for us to make use of these taskflows in ADF mobile browser? It seems that when used within the trinidad framework, the taskflows are broken.
    I understand from documentation that "Except for page fragments, pop-up in dialogs, and region support, you can use the ADF task flow to develop ADF Mobile browser applications. ADF Mobile browser application that use the ADF task flow only support the trinidad-simple skin family"
    Does this mean that taskflows that use the page fragments, pop up dialogs dont work or that you cant use them within jsff and pop ups?
    Sincerely appreciate any help! thanks

    Hi,
    You can reuse taskflows but you need to modify jsff pages with trinidad components.
    Thanks,
    Minal

    You might want to double check this solution in your application. Don't think that when the user presses the back button it simply doesn't go anywhere. It does go back to the previous page and the Javascript causes that page to go forward to the page that was just left. You can see this by putting some "alerts" in your pages.
    These actions my have consequences in your application.

  • Is there any way to disable the popup message I get when I print to a PDF?

    When I print to a pdf by selecting the Adobe PDF Converter as my printer, I always get a popup in my tray "Your PDF file 'document name' has been created".
    This is annoying when I printing a bunch of different documents at a time.  I know the PDF has been created because it opens up, so why the popup?
    HOW DO I DISABLE THIS POPUP???
    Help!!

    If you're talking about the balloon tip that appears in the tray area, I don't know of a way to disable it for just Acrobat, but you can for all programs by modifying the registry: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307729

  • Disable/enable popup LOV image anchor in tabular form

    Hello all,
    I am trying to find the solution how to enable/disable popup LOV's image anchor. When I disable the popup item, then only the text field is disabled but the image is still active and opens the LOV window. I have tried to implement some solutions but without success.
    I have created DA (fired after refresh of needed region) with code below which disables the needed field.
    $('td[headers="DEPTNO"] input').each(function(i)
                $('td[headers="DEPTNO"] input:text').disabled="disabled";
    $($('td[headers="DEPTNO"] input:text')[i]).addClass('apex_disabled');
    Could anyone help me with a code which will also disable the image?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello Jiri,
    Please see your page:
    I have changed the dynamic action:
    $('td[headers="DEPTNO"] input').each(function(i)
                $('td[headers="DEPTNO"] input:text').disabled="disabled";
    $($('td[headers="DEPTNO"] input:text')[i]).addClass('apex_disabled');
         $($('td[headers="DEPTNO"] a')[i]).click(function(e) { e.preventDefault(); });
    $($('td[headers="DEPTNO"] img')[i]).addClass('apex_disabled');
    Hope it helps!

  • How to permanently disable comment popup hint in Adobe Reader X?

    I wish to permanently disable the popup that says  "Click on Comment and Share to create, mark-up and send PDF files.":
    It is getting annoying having to always click it to remove it when viewing a new PDF file in Fullscreen mode.
    How can I acheive this?
    Is there a setting in the preferences or a key in the registry that I can modify?

    You're right. I've tested on a couple of computers now and the problem seems to be isolated to one computer with a particular software setup. On the others it works as you describe.
    You would'nt by any chance know where this "don't show the bubble"-setting is stored after clicking the cross for the first time? Is it in the registry?
    Edit:
    Received a helpful tips: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\10.0\AVGeneral\bShowTaskButtonInfoBubble

  • Disable browser functionality through Portal

    Hello, I was curious to know if it is possible to disable Browser functionality (such as toolbars, navigation buttons, address bar) through a Portal setting? I know this is possible to do through Javascript's window.open() function; however I'd like to remove the functionality on the initial client call without having to pop another window to do so.
    Any suggestions?

    At this time it does not appear that this is possible to do. The best solution I can find is stated below. If a better solution can be found, please feel free to post it to the community!
    vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv
    A browser makes a request to a url. That url points to an html file with javascript. The javascript opens a new browser window, disables the browser functionality and has it load the actual portal.
    <!-- redirect.html -->
    <html>
    <script language="JavaScript">
         window.open('http://localhost:7001/myportal.portal','myWindow','toolbar=no','width=100%','height=100%');
         resizeTo(0,0);
         moveTo(-1000,-1000);
    </script>
    <body>
    </body>
    </html>

  • How to test my ADF mobile browser application on Android emulator?

    Hi
    I have created a Mobile Browser Application. Could anyone please tell me how to test it on Android emulator?
    I read the information about downloading and configuring simulators(Blackberry) and emulators(Microsoft Windows) for ADF Mobile browser in "Running Mobile Device Simulators with ADF Mobile and JDeveloper". However they didn't mention details about downloading and configuring "*Android Emulators*". Could anyone please help me in this.
    Regards
    Raja

    Hi,
    thought you want to test a mobile BROWSER application on android emulator you have to use android JDK like mentioned by codigoadf.
    I guess also that the configuration (create virtual android device, ...) will be the same.
    You have to use the same URL for your application than on your PC but replace 127.0.0.1 by 10.0.2.2 (In case your WLS runs on the same machine as the android emulator)
    regards
    Peter
