ADF Dynamic UI Shell showing Blank Tab for Task Flow

Hi,
Jdev 11.1.2.0.0
I tried implementing standard Dynamic Tab UI Shell in my application. Each Tab in my application is displaying a taskflow.
If I enable ADF Security, my Tabs are displayed as empty. I did added Task Flow Resource Grant.
But if I disable ADF security, tabs are displaying correct contents.
Checked below forums
https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2393963
https://forums.oracle.com/thread/1023619
I also tried adding Sample Patterns (Dynamic Tabs) project as Jar.
And assigning Authenticated Role to blank.xml. Its not working. Still showing blank.
Appreciate help on this issue.
Thanks.
Abhijit

Issue got Fixed. After providing Authenticated Role to

  • Capture Close icon event for ADF dynamic UI shell

    I am using Oracle ADF dynamic TAB UI shell template to build
    the application.
    I have two option to close Employee TAB on right side , one
    is “Remove Tab” highlighted in Navigation pane and second is close icon in
    right most corner of tab page.
    Now while closing the tab page I want to invoke one method
    or task. In Remove Tab  I am able to do this by managed Bean (writing the
    method into bean and invoke that method in Command link of Navigation pane).
    But here the challenge is to invoke same method while
    closing the Tab by close icon. Therefore I want to capture the event and call
    this method.
    Please let me know if you can share any idea on this.
    When clicked on Remove tab I am getting popup message
    successfully while changing the name SMITHR from RITESH.

    Hi,
    In this thread you have some ideas
    UI Shell - how to allow ADF Library Bounded Task Flow to close itself

  • ADF dynamic region - Browser is blank

    Hi All,
    I am following a hands-on practice in Oracle JDeveloper 11g Handbook. I have created two bounded task flows named "searchEmployee-flow.xml" and "departmentTee-flow.xml". I want to call these task flows from af:commandLink in a dynamic region. In the Choose Managed Bean for Dynamic Scope dialog I have provided following steps:
    1. Click New (green “+”) to add a managed bean. Set Bean Name as “searchScreenBB,” Class Name as “SearchScreenBean,” and Package as “tuhra.view.backing.” Click OK. Click OK.
    2. I wrote UIManager class to switch page fragments:
    package tuhra.view;
    public class UIManager implements Serializable
    public enum Screen {EMPLOYEE_SEARCH, DEPARTMENT_TREE}
    private Screen searchScreenFocus = Screen.EMPLOYEESEARCH;
    public void setSearchScreenFocus(String focus) {
    this._searchScreenFocus = Screen.valueOf(focus);
    public void setSearchScreenFocus(UIManager.Screen focus){
    this._searchScreenFocus = focus;
    public UIManager.Screen getSearchScreenFocus() {
    return _searchScreenFocus;
    3.
    I opened adfc-config (under Page Flows in the Application Navigator). On the Overview tab, selected Managed Beans and added a bean (using the green “+”) and fill in Name as “uiState,” Class as “tuhra.view.UIManager,” and Scope as “session.”
    4.
    Updated SearchScreenBean.java to read as in the following code listing (without the line numbers).
    package tuhra.view.backing;
    import java.util.HashMap;
    import oracle.adf.controller.TaskFlowId;
    import tuhra.view.UIManager;
    public class SearchScreenBean {
    private static final HashMap<UIManager.Screen,String> REGIONMAP;
    static {
    REGIONMAP = new HashMap<UIManager.Screen,String>(2);
    REGIONMAP.put(UIManager.Screen.EMPLOYEE_SEARCH,
    "/WEB-INF/searchEmployees-flow.xml#searchEmployees-flow");
    REGIONMAP.put(UIManager.Screen.DEPARTMENT_TREE,
    "/WEB-INF/departmentTree-flow.xml#departmentTree-flow");
    private UIManager _uiManager;
    public TaskFlowId getDynamicTaskFlowId(){
    return TaskFlowId.parse(
    REGIONMAP.get(_uiManager.getSearchScreenFocus()));
    public void setUiManager(UIManager _uiManager){
    this._uiManager = _uiManager;
    6.
    To have JSF inject the UI manager value, I switched back to the adfc-config.xml editor and locate the Managed Beans area on the Overview tab and performed folliwing steps as told in book:
    6.1. Select the searchScreenBB bean and then click Add (green “+”) in the Managed Properties: searchScreenBB table. Set the managed property Name to “uiManager” (to match the setUiManager() method in the bean), the Class to tuhra.view.UIManager, and the Value to “#{uiState}.”
    6.2. Now that the logic to switch the screens is in place, you can define how the UI will activate the change in searchScreenFocus values. You could of course use a custom method in SearchScreenBean, but using a af:setPropertyListener is simpler. In the employeeSearch.jspx file, locate the af:commandLink that surrounds the “Search for Employees” image.
    6.3. Drop into the af:commandLink a Set Property Listener (Operations panel). Set From as “#{'EMPLOYEE_SEARCH'},” To as “#{uiState.searchScreenFocus},” and Type as “action.” Click OK.
    6.4. Repeat the preceding step for the “View by Department” link. This time, fill in From as “#{'DEPARTMENT_TREE'}.”
    6.5. Click Save All.
    When I run the form as directed, It is blank and is giving following error messages:

    Hi
    This error occurs on account of the scope of backing bean Taskflow id not set up correctly and taskflow id leads to null pointer exception.
    Open EmplloyeeSearch.jspx - go to bindings. click taskflow - dynamic region in binding. Set the property as follows:
    #{backingBeanScope.searchScreenBB.dynamicTaskFlowId}
    This should resolve the issue.

  • When Firefox tried to recover my two crashed windows, the first one was fine, but the second one only shows blank tabs, though their number is correct.

    Just as it says in the description. I've looked through solutions for similar issues, but to no avail.
    A funny thing is that in the "restore tabs" window that appeared after I tried to start Firefox again, it listed a number of my tabs among other blank tabs (of course they were not originally blank). None of these actually showed up, however. Confusing.

    HI toothandclaw,
    When you restored the window and clicked on the tabs that were blank, did the page show up? It could be that you have the do not load tabs until selected preference on. This can be changed in the Options/Preferences Menu.
    However since the session is blank, it could also be that Firefox did not close properly because of a crash or a force quit. How did you quit Firefox before the session looked like this? Could you also show a screenshot?

  • Restoring a session only shows blank tabs, same with opening last closed tab

    I opened a link from Trillian in the middle of loading a session with the Session Manager add-on, and now none of my sessions will show anything when I start Firefox or when I reload a session using Session Manager. The number of tabs that the session loads is correct, just none of them have anything except New Tab and nothing in it.
    Additionally, the closed tabs list doesn't update, or when I load the session using Session Manager, trying to open a closed tab will open another blank tab and turn that entry in the closed tabs list into a blank tab.
    Error console shows this when I open any page:
    > Frame Script init
    > "Cu" is read-only
    And this when I close any page:
    > Warning: attempting to write ##### bytes to preference recentlyClosedTabs. This is bad for general performance and memory usage. Such an amount of data should rather be written to an external file.
    I've tested this with and without Session Manager enabled, and it's the same behavior for both session restores (correct number of blank tabs). I've tested in safe mode and sessions appear to work normally (I can see closed tabs and restore them).
    Also, Session Manager saves the correct titles and URLs of the tabs when it saves to its external storage, even though they're "blank", so I suspect the issue is something preventing the writing of an important file in my Firefox profile, but I'm not sure what or how to fix it.
    Lastly, Session Manager's add-on page says it might help to record the error console while disabling/enabling the add-on, so here is that log:

    OK I managed to fix this myself so I'll post what I did here:
    The problem was caused by TabMixPlus which also has its own session manager, so I had to reinstall that addon.
    I also had to disable/re-enable every addon and delete all my cookies/cache because of some other strange issues that were happening, but whoever is reading this might not need to do that if they don't have other problems.

  • Can we show blank lines for transient VO?

    I'm a newbie.. Using JDev 11.1.1.2.0.
    I have a requirement like this (simplified): On first page show an editable table with 2 columns: part no and date, and 10 blank rows. On hitting submit, it should go to a second page which has the part number, date, and price (from database API).
    I went thru storefrontdemo example and I see they have used a transient VO for the cart. So I created a transient VO with 3 attributes - part number, date and price. Also created an AM method in the Impl class to get the price for a part/date combination.
    Few questions:
    1. How can I show the first page with blank rows? When i drag and drop the VO from data control palette as an editable table, I get no rows.
    2. Is it wise to invoke the AM method for each row and populate the price on the transient VO attribute? Will the transient VO values display on the second page, assuming both the first and second pages are in a task flow?
    Thanks in advance!

    Answering my own question - I just added a CreateInsert operation from data control palette and rewired the "Method" to a custom bean that does something like:
    Row row = vo.createRow();
    vo.insertRow(row);

  • Search Result is showing Blank Title for some of the doc Files

    Hi,
        I am doing Search on SharePoint 2010 with the search scope set to one of the document library , But the search result is showing different results for different doc files. I can analyse three type of output from the search result:
    1) for some records Title is shown correct.
    2) for some files , Title is shown with keyword "Title:<Actual Title>"
    3) and in some docs its hsowing Just the keyword "Title:" in place of actual title
    I am not able to understand why the result is behaving like this.
    Any assistance will be really appreciable .
    Thanks in advance

    In Central Administration in the Search Service in Managed Properties look for 'Title'. You will see that Title is populated from a number of properties on a document, some properties are given higher priority then others. That could be a clue.
    Also, what type of document are you crawling a PDF, word document, etc?  For PDFs you have to install a special iFilter and you need to be aware sometimes the properties on the actual PDF in adobe are used.
    I sugest: Try to make sure you give your documents a title in SharePoint and that you rank that property as the #1 property in Central Admin that the Managed property 'Title' uses.

  • Set blank tab for default on new tab.

    How do I set it so a new tab goes to blank instead of google? I just want my blank tab back. I fixed it a couple days ago, but now it's back to going to google and I can't find the page that told me how to fix it. Thanks!

    A new tab opens by default as a blank tab (about:blank).<br />
    If that isn't the case then an extension has changed that behavior.

  • Error while runtime customization for task flows in jdev drop6 build 11

    Hi,
    I am using jdev drop 6 build 11. I am trying to build a webcenter application in which I want to drag and drop task flows at runtime. I am able to add the ADF components at runtime. I am also able to expose the task flow at runtime on the UI after creating my own catalog. But if I try to add the task flow by dragging it, it gives an unhandled exception and it shows that no metadata found for metadata object for the task flow. And after this error I am not able to add the ADF components as well. It gives the same error. This is the error I get:

  • Avoiding request scope bean clashes for task flow calls

    Hi,
    I have two task flows, Tf1 calls Tf2 using a task flow call activity. The structures of the task flows are as follows:
    Tf1
      Managed Bean: TfBean, request scope
        class Tf1Bean
          has property goTf2Button
      View: View1
        Button bound to #{TfBean.goTf2Button}
          Action -> task flow call to Tf2
    Tf2
      Managed Bean: TfBean, request scope
        class Tf2Bean
          has property testButton
      View: View2
        Button bound to #{TfBean.testButton}
    As you can see both have a request scope bean called TfBean but these are different classes in each. The bean classes have different properties for binding the components on the two pages.
    When I click the button in View1 to navigate I get an error telling me that class Tf1Bean does not have the property testButton. Clearly Tf2Bean is not being instantiated as TfBean already exists for the request.
    I'm guessing this is expected behaviour and it seems logical.
    My question however is what would be good standards or practices to avoid this?
    One way would be a naming convention, however what if I am consuming Tf2 from a library? In this case it would ideally work as a black box and I should not be concerned about it's implementation, specifically names chosen for internal managed beans. Even if it was not a problem initially, the developer of the task flow could add or change the name of a request scope bean introducing a conflict at a later stage.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

    Hi Frank,
    Good to meet you at UKOUG Tech13 yesterday. I changed my test case from request scope to backing bean scope. Unfortunately I still get the same error:
    <RichExceptionHandler> <_logUnhandledException> ADF_FACES-60098:Faces lifecycle receives unhandled exceptions in phase RENDER_RESPONSE 6
    javax.faces.FacesException: javax.el.PropertyNotFoundException: The class 'yyy.view.Tf1Bean' does not have the property 'testButton'.

    ...etc.
    What I think is happening, please correct me if I'm wrong...
    Running Tf1, page View1 is displayed.
    Clicking the button on View1 initiates a request and an instance of Tf1Bean is instantiated for the managed bean named TfBean.
    During the request navigation occurs to Tf2 and hence page View2.
    View2 needs a property in TfBean called testButton.
    There is already a managed bean instantiated for this request called TfBean, however this is of class Tf1Bean and does not have the property.
    I have a simple workspace showing this if you want me to send it to you. I am using 11.1.2.4 by the way.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

  • Mail shows blank body for messages

    sometimes mail refuses to show the bodies of certain messages for me.
    typical sequence:
    1 start mail.app
    2 use it for a while (working normally)
    3 notice that certain message bodies appear "blank"
    when #3 occurs, i select a message in list view and the preview window (where you usually see the contents or body of the message) is totally blank. once this happens for one message, it seems to also happen for many of my other messages, too. that is, if i try to select a different message (even one whose body i was just reading a few seconds ago), it now shows up with a blank preview window. i also try double-clicking to open the message in it's own window - the body part of the window is blank. i try printing the message - the body part comes out blank.
    if i quit mail and restart and come back and view the same message, i can see the body ok (for a while, at least - until the problem eventually happens again). thus, this feels to me more like an issue of some kind of memory leak or some system resource being exhausted rather than some corruption of my mail files or preferences.
    some things i have noticed:
    - if i go to view->message->plain text alternative, i can sometimes see a plain text view of the message. this works for certain messages. for other messages (which seemingly don't have plain text alternatives) i can't do this. and for certain messages (seemingly those which were sent as raw text), i can see their bodies without doing this. the pattern seems to be that i can view text-only messages or plaintext-views of messages which provide them but i can not view them as formatted text.
    - i can always view the raw text of messages.
    - once this problem occurs, if i try to compose a new mail message, the window pops up and looks normal except i can not select the body part of the message. that is, hitting tab which usually works to move through the header fields and puts the cursor in the body field, simply fails to move the cursor to the body. clicking directly on the body just causes the cursor to disappear. so it is impossible to compose a new message.
    - once the problem occurs in a particular instantiation of mail.app, it never seems to go away. the fix i know of is to quit mail. that always seems to make it go away, though only temporarily.
    i'm wondering if anyone has experienced this problem and may have any hints as to the root cause. i should warn that i am a a bit skeptical of claims of simple fixes such as simply deleting and rebuilding the envelope database, deleting preferences, etc., because i already know that the problem is tricky in that it goes away with every restart of mail.app anyway which can lead to false reinforcement of various theories.

    Mulder wrote:
    That's nonsense; the problem doesn't go away, it merely doesn't manifest immediately, which tells us it's still there. More often than not, there is a simple fix for an underlying issue; of course, if you'd prefer something much more complicated, I'm sure we can give you all those machinations.
    sorry - i should have been more precise and said the symptoms go away after restarting mail. i said what i said because my experience is that this type of scenario sometimes tends to lead people to conclude falsely that they have identified a solution when in fact they have not. this is why, for example, "reset pram" always was claimed a solution to dozens of problems for which it had absolutely no connection. it was because merely restarting the machine (an essential precursor to resetting pram) made symptoms go away in many cases.
    as to your specific point, i have rebuilt envelope index in the recent past and i'm still having the problem. i can't say for sure that it is not the case that something messed up the file in the past and has now messed it up again, so i will give it a try.
    thanks.

    Hello and thanks for responding. I don't have any add-ons. I have extensions, but they all seem appropriate. Extensions for java. I really don't add anything unless it is necessary. It seems this browser which used to be so fast is soooooo slow. It is horribly slow to open, even though I now have an extremely fast fios connection. I have read up on how to make it faster and tried a few things, they never last.
    I have a very good Norton security and I scan, but if it is something that got by, I don't know.
    But this used to be such a wonderful browser, now I hate it. I am avoiding using it. It does quirky stuff like that, when I went to the website, I had to click for support, and it was just a tab and blank page, and I was in a hurry, I needed help, I had a lot fo info to put in to tell who I was, veryify Iu had the damn software, and this browser is making my life miserable?
    well I don't need that.
    I am tired of trying to figure out what is wrong.
    What is really frustrating is not having the support. I think if they put out a browser they want people to use, they need to have support.
    I am so afraid of making it worse, I would not take any of the add-ons.
    Also, I have a twitter account in which I sell items and these are listed from one online marketplace. However, when I try and try and try and try to log in from Amazon, it never accepts my password. I thought it was a problem with twitter, now I think it is this crazy browser.
    Thanks for trying to help. I think the makers need to fix it, too many problems no support from its creators.

    That's nonsense; the problem doesn't go away, it merely doesn't manifest immediately, which tells us it's still there. More often than not, there is a simple fix for an underlying issue; of course, if you'd prefer something much more complicated, I'm sure we can give you all those machinations.
    sorry - i should have been more precise and said the symptoms go away after restarting mail. i said what i said because my experience is that this type of scenario sometimes tends to lead people to conclude falsely that they have identified a solution when in fact they have not. this is why, for example, "reset pram" always was claimed a solution to dozens of problems for which it had absolutely no connection. it was because merely restarting the machine (an essential precursor to resetting pram) made symptoms go away in many cases.
    as to your specific point, i have rebuilt envelope index in the recent past and i'm still having the problem. i can't say for sure that it is not the case that something messed up the file in the past and has now messed it up again, so i will give it a try.
    thanks.

  • CTRL-G on AR Invoice, show Blank Profit% for Sales Only Items

    On SAP 8.8 PL15; when invoicing a Sales Only Item, it show Base price as 0.000, correct! Profit value corect!, but the Profit% blank, which cause the below 5% Alert to trigger.  Help!

    Hi,
    In document setting (Administration u2013 System Initialization), there are two option for calculating gross profit.
    Calculate gross profit as
    1.Profit / base Price
            a.In this option as per your scenario, you donu2019t have the base price. So system is not showing profit % in the gross profit   for the invoice document.
    2.Profit / Sale price
            a.If you select this option in the document setting you will get the profit %. Because gross profit will calculate based on the sale price.
    So, it is your wishes, how you want the gross profit % calculation should be. So, try to change from the Profit / base Price to Profit / Sale Price

  • How to change default ports for task flow application?

    I deploy a task form with the following hwtaskflow.xml information:
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'UTF-8'?>
    <hwTaskFlows xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/bpel/workflow/hwTaskFlowProperties">
    <ApplicationName>worklist</ApplicationName>
    <LookupType>LOCAL</LookupType>
    <TaskFlowDeploy>false</TaskFlowDeploy>
    <TaskFlowServer>
    *<hostName/>*
    *<httpPort/>*
    *<httpsPort/>*
    </TaskFlowServer>
    <hwTaskFlow>
    <WorkflowName>ApproverHumanTask</WorkflowName>
    <TaskDefinitionNamespace>http://xmlns.oracle.com/MyApp/MyComposite/MyTask</TaskDefinitionNamespace>
    <TaskFlowId>MyTask_TaskFlow</TaskFlowId>
    <TaskFlowFileName>WEB-INF/MyTask_TaskFlow.xml</TaskFlowFileName>
    </hwTaskFlow>
    </hwTaskFlows>
    When I deploy the form then check the task URI in EM I see
    Host name: server host name
    HTTP port: 80
    HTTPS port: 443
    I know I can override these ports in the hwtaskflow but what if I want HTTPS port left blank? We don't have HTTPS active on our server. Another server in our environment only populates the HTTP port (HTTPS port is left blank) but I'm puzzled why the different behavior.
    Can anyone tell me either how to specify a "blank" HTTPS port in the hwtaskflow or, preferably, how to change the server configuration so that HTTPS port is not filled in when I deploy the task form? We are wanting a completely automated deployment and presently we have to manually remove the HTTPS port via EM after deploying. Argh!

    Jon,
    May be you already figured out the solution nevertheless i will answer your questions.
    1. Turning off the https port - give value as 0 for httpsPort in your hwtaskflow.xml.
    Second reason why your custom hwtaskflow is not getting picked up is you have set the TaskFlowDeploy as false.
    If you set this as true , and specify your cluster address you should be all set.
    for eg : - your cluster host address is somename.cluster.com with only http configured at port 80 lets assume.
    Then your hwtaskflow should look like this
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'UTF-8'?>
    <hwTaskFlows xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/bpel/workflow/hwTaskFlowProperties">
    <ApplicationName>worklist</ApplicationName>
    <LookupType>LOCAL</LookupType>
    <TaskFlowDeploy>true</TaskFlowDeploy>
    <TaskFlowServer>
    <hostName>somename.cluster.com</hostName>
    <httpPort>80</httpPort>
    <httpsPort>0</httpsPort>
    </TaskFlowServer>
    <hwTaskFlow>
    <WorkflowName>LeaveRequestTask</WorkflowName>
    <TaskDefinitionNamespace>http://xmlns.oracle.com/BuildApplication/BuildProject/LeaveRequestTask</TaskDefinitionNamespace>
    <TaskFlowId>LeaveRequestTask_TaskFlow</TaskFlowId>
    <TaskFlowFileName>WEB-INF/LeaveRequestTask_TaskFlow.xml</TaskFlowFileName>
    </hwTaskFlow>
    </hwTaskFlows>
    This will automatically pick up the values on deployment , other play you can configure this is in your em console as well.
