ADI - Excel is not running, or is not available.

Hi friends,
I am trying to upload the journal entries through ADI. When I try to do this I get the following error
"Excel is not running, or is not available. You cannot upload at this time.".
We are on 11.5.9 and the excel we are using is 2003. This was working absolutely fine earlier. Can some one let me know what the issue could be. Please note the Macro>Security> Options> Publisher Options. This is checked too.

    I know this is going to sound weird, but I spent the last two days figuring this out. I recently bought the teacher's Edition of Office 2004 so I could have the same version of Office on 3 of my Macs and after installation that's when Excel quit working over my home network. The previous versions of Office up to X didn't exhibit this behavior. So after looking at Apple's and Microsoft's sites and user groups and getting no answer that worked, I looked at my machines to see what the differences might be. The thing that tripped my trigger was two of my Macs had the same named hard drive and one didn't, and it was that one that was named differently that could see one of the other two. So look at the name under your hard drive icons (by default it's named Macintosh Hard Drive). If they are the same, rename one of them (the name can be anything just as long as it's not Macintosh Hard Drive). I would name them something to differentiate them like Will's iBook or Will's iMac. I don't have a programmers understanding of why this worked, but my scientific wild *** guess (S.W.A.G) is it's an Excel naming convention gaffe. It appears that Excel thinks there are no others on the network because all the hard drives are named the same. Word doesn't do this so I'm guessing that instead of looking for m.a.c. addresses or your network DNS/IP numbers, Excel is looking for hard drive names to distinguish users on the network. If I'm anywhere close to right, this is really dumb! Try it and see if this solves you problem.

    the list of export formats does not show excel as an option.  how do i add excel or excel - data only to the list?
    do i need some excel/cr driver?
    the export options are rpt, pdf and rtf.  where are all the other ones i used to see in CR 5?

    Aron,You may need to select these exporting formats while installing CR XI.(With my install, I selected all options, so I do have Excel as an exporting format.)

  • Error occured at Class not registered... Because Excel is not installed?

    I received the following error while trying to run an application built with LV 7.1:
    Error -2147221164 occured at Class not registered in Open_Excel.vi > Report_generation_excel_Tbeta WITH new layout.vi > Mirror_Cycling_Main tbeta-2.vi
    Could this be because Excel is not yet installed on the computer?  Will there be a problem if Excel is installed after the 7.1 Runtime Engine and LabVIEW drivers?
    Also, should I stay away from installing higher versions of Excel than what was originally used?
    Would it be possible to create a VI like this with the base version of 8.2?  I'm not certain what some of the controls on the front panel are and 7.1 does not give me additional information in the help dialog- if someone could give me the names of the various components circled in red in the attached JPG I would appreciate it.

    I'm using excel 2003 with labview 2009 v9.0f2. I have attached the VI here. Basically, Im just using the"excel get all data.vi" to read an excel file to create an array and that's where the error occurs.

  • Macbook Core 2 Duo Excel 2008 Not Responding

    I have a Macbook Core 2 duo with Snow Leopard. I have Microsoft Office 2008 and recently my computer is running slow, but now excel will not load at all. It shows the color wheel and then the "application does not respond". What should I do

I mainly use the Korg legacy collection synths, and a variety of Waves plugins, and my current macbook can run quite a few instances of the synths and plugins, so I guess based on the information given the base mac mini should be able to handle my projects ok. As has been mentioned, I guess the best thing to do is to try it.

  • Microsoft Excel is not installed; install Microsoft Excel Viewer

    When executing BW reports from the GUI, the following error is received.  Reports run directly from excel seem to work fine.
    "Microsoft Excel is not installed; install Microsoft Excel Viewer"
    This error is occuring on machines that were recently upgraded to SAP GUI 7.20 patch 7 and BW 3.5 patch 5.  In some cases  but not all, running a repair on Excel resolves the issue.  However, we do not want to have to run a repair on all machines that will be upgraded.    Does anyone no the root cause and an easier solution for this issue?

  • Laptop (Running Windows 8.1) no longer able to print and now see message Active Directory Domain Services is not available

    Have a very recent Lenovo Ideapad Laptop running Windows 8.1. Connected via USB port to HP LaserJet Pro CM1415 frw Color MFP Printer. Was able to print fine nearly 2 weeks ago, but something recently happened - either a new windows or office 2013 update
    or perhaps I blew away a certain file by mistake. I can see the printer installed but cannot print to it from anything (Word, Notepad, IE, Firefox etc.). The one thing to note is that usually when I plug or unplug a USB related device, Windows 8.1 recognizes
    this and makes a certain chime noise, but with the printer USB cable it never makes that noise - making me think that it never fully recognizes the printer. Also when I select the printer (from within the control panel) and right click for properties (via
    admin rights) It never lets me fully connect to it.
    I have tried all the usual remedies - remove, install all drivers, reinstall printer, Windows update, start/stop print spooler and all other printer related services,  etc. Its really annoying because this printer was working fine nearly 2
    weeks ago. Looking for any advice now. Thanks.

    I noticed that you had reinstalled the printer. Just a confirmation, when un-install this printer, please check
    if this printer still exist in registry. For more details, please refer to following KB.
    Registry entries for printing
    If printer entry still exist in registry, please delete that printer entry and re-install this printer again,
    then check if this issue still exists. (Please backup registry entries before operating registry. It will help us to avoid unexpected issue.)

  • The Same Excel Functions Not Giving the Same Result in Numbers

    I'm been using Excel for years and now that I've made the switch to Mac, I thought I should probably utilise the iWork suite of software and get rid of Microsoft once and for all.
    Whilst I love the user-friendliness, there are so many small things that Apple to appear to have overlooked which keeps me hanging on to Microsoft Office just a little, but I digress.
    OK, So I have one sheet in Numbers with the following data.
    I am trying I need to search Column A for the TLDs in Column C, if they exist output the correct renewal price from Column D in Column B
    e.g. A2 contains .net so  B2 should have 12.50 in it.

    So... can someone please explain to me why the same functions which exist in Numbers and Excel (VLOOKUP / LOOKUP / SEARCH) do not work in Numbers as they do in Excel? If there is a valid reason, fine, I'll accept that, but how do I acheive the above?
    The formula which WORKS in B2 in Excel but NOT in Numbers is:
    =VLOOKUP(LOOKUP(32768,SEARCH(C$2:C$4,A2),C$2:C$4),$C$2:$E$4,2,FALSE)

    That's a form of "array function" (searching a "table array").  Numbers can't do array functions the way Excel can.
    Here's one way to achieve the same goal in Numbers:
    The formula in B2, copied down:
         =VLOOKUP(RIGHT(A2,LEN(A2)−SEARCH(".",A2)+1),Prices::$A:$B,2,FALSE)

  • Excel does not open after OPEN is clicked after a while

    Hi ,
    I am generating a excel report using Java servlet. The report works fine as of now with out any issues. When the link is clicked the dialogue box comes and when open is clicked immediately the excel is opening with out any problem.
    Here is the issue when i wait for a while says about 30 to 40 seconds and click on the open button the excel is not opening. I get no reponse.

    One thing that might help is to reset and/or restore the iphone.

  • Interface for Excel does not work in Windows 7 - Important

    Im using BPC 75 MS SP04 with a computer Windows 7, IE 9, Office 2007. Apparently the Excel works "fine", the issue is that whenever I try to access to Interface for web from the main page (clicking the icon) it does not work, does not do anything...
    What do you suggest to do?
    Working directly in excel is not a problem, accesing to templates vía "Etools - Open dynamic templates" is fine.
    The issue is that users that have every access controlled by BPF's (using Interface for Web)  cannot work.
    Also, we use a template that uses 12 EVDRE reports in the background, we know it is a lot... but it was required like that.
    Once accesing to this template vía Etools -Open dynamic template... Excel gets stuck and I have to force it to shut down.
    Also Im working with a Vista system, Office 2003.
    For this systems, we also use the template EVDRE (12 reports). Once any of both systems access to this specific template, Excel gets stuck and I have to shut it down. Any other template is able to work with, but these 2 machines  (7 and Vista) cant.

    Hi Velázquez,
    Based on SAP Note: 1603248, IE9 is not supported on BPC 7 and 7.5.
    So you have to revert to IE8.
    Only IE8 and IE7 are supported in 7.5 MS.

  • EXCEL output not displaying properly

    We are using XML publisher 5.0 with Oracle Financial Applications.
    We have defined Viewer Options for Excel as
    File Format=Excel, Mime Type=application/vnd.ms-excel.
    The problem is when we use web based View requests, the excel comes up with XML code in it. We are not sure why excel is not interpreting the XML output.

  • Windows 7 (64bit) & Office 2010 (32bit) Excel 'Document not saved' over WAN to network drive

    Hi All
    We are currently in the process of upgrading all PC's on our WAN to windows 7 across multiple locations
    I know this has been asked numerous times but nothing is working for me.
    We are experiencing the dreaded 'Document not saved' error at only some locations (5 or 6 out of 200 for all users, these sites generally have slow network connections) when trying to save to a network share back at our HQ. it creates a .tmp file and leaves
    the original document intact but without the changes, changing the name of the document in save as doesn't work. saving locally and copying to the share works. We can save locally and to other onsite network shares. It constantly happens so the document can
    never be saved to that network share.
    Always worked on XP SP3 with Office 2010.
    the files in question are around 4mb. smaller excel files with no contenct do work.
    I have tried literally everything listed on all forums and nothing seems to resolve it...I've tried
    - the hotfix - doesn't apply to my enviroment and the offending KB aren't installed.
    - the network resiliency, pivot table network resiliency and Enable simply copy for UNC registry keys
    - disabling offline folders, windows search and indexing
    - disabling SMB2 on the client
    - turning off QOS on the IP4 settings.
    - trusted documents.

    Hello, We've been having this same issue, and I think we have a work-around.
    If we change HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters\RequireSecuritySignature from "0" to "1" we still get the error message but the tmp file is NOT created. If the user tries to save again, it is then successful.

    I just checked to see if the update to OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 solved any of the issues outlined in my previous post, and to my dismay, nothing has changed -- all of the previous problems persist.
    My iMac (8) -- it's renamed itself eight times since the recent troubleshoot with the Apple tech rep -- shows up as a shared device in Finder on my MacBook Pro, but when I click on it, I cannot establish a connection using "Connect As".  So I've attempted to connect using the menu "Go/Connect to Server...", using both (alternately) the iMac's name and IP address, to no avail.  I get a message which reads: "There was a problem connecting to the server 'Peter's iMac (8)'. This server may not exist or it is unavailable at this time.  Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again."
    Here's what I know:
    The server -- Peter's iMac (8) does exist;
    The server -- Peter's iMac (8) is available at this time;
    The server name -- Peter's iMac (8) -- is correct, as specified in the system sharing preferences;
    The server IP address is correct, as specified in the system sharing preferences;
    The network connection is active when I attempt to connect.
    I'm convinced the problems stem directly from the OS X Yosemite update.  None of this was ever remotely an issue in the previous OS X's -- any of them.  This is maddening!  What can be done?  Apple?? Anyone???
