Adjustment entry to Accum. depreciation and Offsetting GL account

Dear All,
I have another typical scenario.  We have just completed our rollout and the core team member is asking to post the following entry without disturbing the Gloss block(cost).
        Accumulated Depreciation A/c....Dr
                     To Offsetting GL account(Balancesheet a/c).
I had tried with all modes using ABSO and the relevant AA T-codes.  But of no use.
Can anyone help me out in this case.
Regards,
Srinivas K.

Hi Srinivas,
Are these reconciliation differences you need to post?
It is not possible to post to a reconciliation account directly in general.
But you could use transaction AFB1. It should only be used when there are differences between Asset Accounting and Financial accounting.
Also review for further information on the subject: SAP note  69225  - Reconciliation difference financial/asset accounting.
If you need to make corrections to values on the asset you can also consider a write-up (ABZU) or unplanned depreciation (ABAA). Check all your options under Easy Access Menu 'Manual Value Correction'.
Kind regards,
Brigitte

  • Downpayment req and downpayment made account

    hi,
    1) downpayment request is alternative recon account? its payable or receivable?
    2) i notice when there is an entry in downpayment request and downpayment  made account, there will be a same entry in vendor account. for example, when DR downpayment made account, there will be a DR 29A in vendor account. why?
    what i know is
    DR downpayment account
    CR bank
why there is another entry DR 29A in vendor account? this entry will be offset when process downpayment clearing takes place by CR 39A vendor account.
but for downpayment request, 39F will be in cr side of vendor account. no clearing for this.
so MY QUESTION is why there is a same side entry in vendor account when there is an entry made to downpayment made account or downpayment request account.
    thanks

    <b>It is applicable to both.</b>
As per the accounting standards u need to classify any advance payment received or paid has to be disclosed separately.

  • Stop depreciation and interest on one depreciation area

We have area 01 depreciation and area 70 - which for us is a managerial (statistical) depreciation posting with interest.  When this depreciation and interest is posted the offset is to a contra account so when looking at the FI side it nets to zero.  The asset is owned by the leasing company and we indicate on the time dependant tab which operating company is getting the statistical depreciation and interest.
Our issue is the they 'transfer' these assets to another operating company with a fair market value.  The asset itself does not leave the leasing company and true FI depreciation is not touched.  Since we need to show a new value for the asset for the statistical depreciation and it gets a new depreciation schedule we found creating a sub asset and doing ABSO to 'write up' area 70 with the FMV of the transfer amount allows us to start the statistical depreciation to the transfered operating company with no issues.  The issue is stopping the area 70 depreciation and interest on the main asset - to the first operating company.
I tried putting a scrap value equal to the remaining book value on the main asset in depreciation area 70 and that did stop the depreciation - but it's still trying to post interest for the next period and beyond.
Ideas?  Options you guys can think of?
    Thanks
    Karla

    Hi,
    a) Copy the retirement transaction to a new one and restrict it to post only in area 70. You can then completly dispose the asset in that area.
    b) Use/create a depreciation key in that area that has Shutdown = Yes. In the time dependant tab you can then set the asset to shutdown and it will stop depreciating.
    Kind regards

  • TDS adjustment entries for incorrect section code

    Hi,
I would like to do the adjustment entry for the incorrectly captured TDS amounts on the downpayment request. While creating the down payment request the TDS code was incorrectly captured in section code 194I instead of 194J. The downpayment was also done incorrectly and hence the TDS has been captured with section code 194I. I am not sure how to make the adjustment entries for the above scenerio

  • J1IH -adjustment entry

    Hi, experts
Here i m doing the return scenario to vendor
    (Normal process )ME21N - MIGO 103 & 105 (part1 - capture) - J1IEX (part2 -post) - MIRO
(Return Process )MIGO (Return deleivery) with part1 entry -J1IS exise invoice with posting (not doing J1IV) here i m getting ED duty payable entry while saving the J1IS excise invoice.
But now i want the adjustment entry in Modvat receivable account for that i m doing J1IH.In which which doc no to be entered please suggest.and why J1IV is not required here? i m get confused.so please suggest.

    Hi,
Return to Vendor Standard Process followed in most of the companies is as follow :
    1. At the time of GR , you have captured Excise for whole Qty, for e.g. Qty - 50 , Excise - 120.00 ( BED2Edces%1HScess%),
    For e.g.
    Accountig entries are
    RG-23 A BED HiEdCe-1    Dr    - 80.00
    RG-23 A BED A/C -1         Dr   - 16.00
    RG-23 A BED EdCess-1    Dr   - 4.00
              CENVAT Clearing A/C            Cr   - 100.00
Now you want to send the material to Vendor
Create Return PO for 25 Qty --> Do MIGO - 161 Movement  -> Create Rerurn Excise Invoice thru J1IS, Accounting Entries will be
BED Payable Govt           Cr. - 40
    CENVAT Clearing A/C      Dr. - 40
BED Ecess Payable Go   Dr - 8
    CENVAT Clearing A/C      Dr. - 8
    BED Hi-Ecess Payable    Cr . - 2
    CENVAT Clearing A/C      Dr.  - 2
So by J2IUN you will be paying the duty to Govt , so indirectly you are reversing the duty, since Cenvat Clearing will have now Rs.50 after this entry.
Any how your requirement can be fulfilled by creating a Sub Transaction Type and assigning Account Determination, you will have to explore.

  • Setting image zoom and offset properties in Forms 6

I have a Forms 6 form with an image item with "Sizing Style" set to "Adjust" and "Show Palette" set to "Yes".
When running the application, the users typically need to view approximately the same region of a set of images. Currently, they have to reapply their favorite zoom settings and move to the correct region whenever a new image is displayed. Now they would like the images to be displayed with their personal zoom and offset settings applied automatically.
Is it possible to figure out the zoom factor and region which is displayed in an image item? As an alternative, is it possible to intercept clicks on the image palette buttons?
    Thanks, Beat

your test_image table better to have another primary key item like file_id number with table trigger to sequence generating its value for IF INSERTING event, or it will have no handle to get the image back.

  • Does Elements have the Photoshop Exposure adjustments for Gamma, Exposure and Offset, and where?  Is Gamma missing?

I have been a photoshop user since version 3, and am considering switching to Elements 13, as I am not a professional, but do this for home pictures.  I found that the Exposure Adjustments setting is fabulous, where I can adjust Gamma, Exposure and Offset, and the the Shadow and Highlight is also great.  Does Elements have an EXPOSURE (Gamma, Exposure and Offset) adjustment tool, or something close, and if not the same, how inferior?  Same Question for Shadow/Highlights.

As to saving edited items in ACR Edited formats or as a JPEG, unless I Open Image and save the file as a JPG, the edited RAW image is not a portable file, as only Photoshop or Elements will compile the edits from the embedded information. I do see that moving from RAW to Elements Normal mode, I can save the files and do other forms of editing, but I may have to give up a 16bit image for an 8 bit image to do any editing in normal Elements.
When you are using only the 'Done' button with a jpeg without opening and saving in the editor, you have written the settings to the metadata without altering the pixel values. In my own case, That's enough for 80% of my shots. That means: non-destructive editing (the original is still available), parametric editing, the settings are saved, can be used for the next picture and take minimal disk space. You don't need to keep a version set. On the other hand, only Adobe software can read it. Those edits in ACR are calculated in 16 bits even if jpeg is only 8 bits.
On the other hand, if you open the file in the editor, you have the choice to open the converted version in either 8 or 16 bits. Of course, if you want to save it in 16 bits, you'll save in psd or tiff.
What do you know about Photoshop's ImageReady.  It appears to offer simpler interfaces to normal Photoshop.
Sorry, I don't know anything abut ImageReady...
As to Elements, it appears that many of the more sophisticated image adjustments that exist in Photoshop are there, but in an 8 bit depth, buried in their different menus.
There are a lot of discussions about 8 or 16 bits depth in Elements. The main idea is that you can't use layers in 16 bits (except with a clunky workaround) and that you can't use local tools in 16 bits. On the other hand, nearly all global edits are available in 16 bits, including many filters and plugins. And with ACR, you can open jpegs in 16 bits... For me, even if I know that I can do nearly everything I need in 16 bits in the editor, I must say that first editing in ACR makes that unnecessary most of the time.

  • Abavn accum depreciation

    hi,
may i know how the accummulated depreciation derived via abavn?
    1) accum depreciation getting from area 01 or area 20?
    2) i base on the ord dep value in aw01n for both areas but none is the same as the accum depreciation value.
eg: if scrap on 01/may08 which acquired on 01/jan08, then depreciation should count from jan until april but accum depreciation value different.
    thanks

    hi,
thanks for the reply but both also misunderstood my question.
i do not mean the depreciation value different between 01 and 20. do not get me wrong. what i mean here is why the accum depreciation value calculated in abavn different from ord depreciation in aw01n either area 01 or 20.
for example, in abavn accum depreciation the value is 1000. let say the asset acquired 1/1/2008 and write off 1/5/2008,
aw01n area 01 depreciation from jan till april is 800 whereas aw01n area 20 depreciation from jan till april is 850.
now, i would like to know why abavn accum depreciation from jan till april is 1000 whereas aw01n area 01 is 800 and area 20 is 850.
the accum depreciation different from either 800 or 850.
the argument is why there is a difference? if accum deprec same as 800 then i can say it is counted via area 01. if it is 850 then it is counted via area 20.
but now 1000 is different from 800 or 850. so i need to know how abavn calculate accum depreciation.
    thanks

  • Accum depreciation

    Dear Forum,
    When do AFAB,
for depreciation account, it is by cost center.
for accum depreciation, i wonder it will break up or all go to 1 accum depreciation only.
i actually notice the accum depreciation account with profit center. just wonder if accum depreciation is grouped up by profit center.
Example, 10 machine with 10 cost center where 5 cost center goes to same profit center and another 5 to another profit center.
when AFAB, will have 10 depreciation accounting document and 2 accum depreciation accounting document?
    Need advice.
    Thanks

Accumulated depreciation account is mapped to asset class with account determination key. A separate Depreciation document is posted for each combination of asset class and cost center

  • Manual adjusting entries

    Hi
How can i find Manual adjusting entries posted .For finding this which tables we can use.is it possible through WBS Element.and what is Controlling document tables ?
    Regards,
    Lakshmaiah.

Accounting techniques impact the virtual cube's interpretation of the different posting levels.  I'm not sure what happens if they aren't maintained (I would guess BCS considers everything to be Purchase Method).
If you have Equity Method units that's you're manually booking a pickup for, you'd want to set the accounting techniques correctly in order to assure the PL00 & 10 are showing up in the reporting, and that no PL20 elimination entries are being included as well.

  • WHAT IS THE DIFFRENCE BET WENN PLANNED DEPRECIATION AND UNPLANNED DEPRECIAT

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PLANNED DEPRECIATION AND UNPLANNED DEPRECIATION

    Hi
Usually depreciatio is planned for all the assets from the date of purchase of the asset based on cost of asset, useful life of asset, scrap value , etc.
In Planned depreciation we depreciate the asset as per our planned figures for the entire life of the asset
where as in unplanned depreciation, depreciation is not as per our planned figures, it may vary due to fire, theft, partial damage, etc.
Here not only the depreciation amount but also the useful life of the asset will be effected.

  • How to Create new entry, while keeping CoS and nsRoles in tact...

    Hi,
    Here's the short version:
How can one create a new entry/context in DS, copy the attributes from an existing entry (using JNDI) and save them in the new entry/context WITHOUT duplicating CoS or nsRole/DN info.
    Long version of the question:
We are using DS 5.2 and Portal 6 (and messenger/calendar etc). We have our employees saved in DS. What I want to do is change a user's name/uid by copying the user's attributes (in JNDI) and create a New entry with the New uid, with all the other attributes the same. Then deleting the original entry.
This is what I have done...
    1. Get all the employee's attributes... (abriviated)(ctx is the DirContext)
    NamingEnumeration answer = ctx.search(searchBase, filter, ctls);
    SearchResult sr = (SearchResult)answer.next();
    Attributes attrs = sr.getAttributes();
    2. Create a new employee with the same attributes (assume I use a different uid in the dn)
    ctx.createSubcontext(dn, attrs);
This works...it copies all the attributes to the new entry -BUT- when you look at the LDIF file, it ADDS several more attributes to the new entry.
    Example: it adds the following...
    sunPortalNetletRules
    sunPortalGatewayEnableSSO
    sunPortalDesktopDpDocument
    sunPortalDesktopDpLastModifiedUser
    iplanet-am-user-auth-modules
    And about 20 others...
Now if I am not mistaken, these are the CoS and roles that the DS uses and propagates down to the entry. But when I copy the attributes over, (using JNDI) I get these attributes too but I want to copy only the attributes that are unique and have DS handle the roles and CoS like it does for the original entry.
Is there a way to tell the DS to just use the CoS or roles instead of duplicating all these attributes in this individual entry??? (and do it using JNDI)
(sorry this question is sooooo long.)
    Thanks!
    Eric

    Hello Viji,
I am extremely thank ful for the document.
Kindly help me with below points of possible
    1)     if it is standard table (LFBK) , even then shall we will need to do the generate program
    step in SCDO ?
    2)     does it generate Z-function module ?
    3)     do we need to call this function module at appropriate places to update the CDPOS and CDHDR
for changes in the standard table ?
    4)     I have already created custom business object for LFBK so that Iu2019ll be able to create entry
    in SWEC (fyi)
    5)     how and when are the method used in the table maintenance generator called ?
    6)     Page 14 point 3 says that "Add a new entry to link the Change Document Object ZPRPS_CD and
table ZPRPS so that changes are recorded when table entries change."
Does this mean that once we create SCDO and generate program, these two steps are  enough
for the SWED entry to create change log in CDPOS and CDHDR ?
    7)     It is understood that it is necessary that the change object in SWEC should be logged in
CDPOS and CDHDR only then the event would be created for the SWEC entry. is this correct ?
in order to create change log for the change object in CDHDR and CDPOS, is the SCDO entry
and generate program steps enough or the methods of table  maintenance generator are also
    required ?
thank you very much for your time

  • Calculation of depreciation and interest for a particular asset class

    Hi,
I have a problem with the calculation of depreciation and interest for a particular asset class. The assets are financial leases. The depreciation key defined is LEAS. The following are the attributes of this key:
Dep/int             phase     base met dec-bal prd cont mult lvl chn ov
    Ord.depreciation     1     0011     001     006     001        5
    Ord.depreciation     2     0002     001     003     003
    Interest             1     0028     001     003     010
An example of an asset is:
Aquisition value: 1041552.71 (as migrated on 01.04.2007)
    Ordinary dep already posted: 56243.88
    Net book value: 985308.83
    Scrap Value:729086.90
    Useful life: 50 years
Expired useful life: 9 years 1 month
Remaining useful life: 40 years 11 months.
    Depreciation start date: 28.03.1998
    Interest calculation start date:30.03.1997
    Depreciation calculated by the system:6261.83
    Interest calculated in the year:15682.68
I'm not able to undersatnd on what basis the system calculated the interest. I will be thankful if anyone can help me resolve this. An early reply will be greatly appreciated as I'm facing major problems due to this issue.

    Hi Mahesh,
As per my analysis of the case the interest rates are as under
    Acq. Year                                                    Int.Percent
    9999     4          01     10.%
    9999     7          01     5.%
    9999     25          01     2.5%
    9999     999     12     01     2.5%
As per this the Acquisition value less the Scrap Value Rs.312,465.00 @ 2.5% p.a will be Rs. 7811.64.
Based on the above you analyse for which period interest is calculated.
    Hope it will help.
    Regards,
    Vijay
