Admin and user rights for change active airport

Hello alltogether,
my son has a new MacBook (System 10.5) for his school and he learn with the computer in all school-subjects. So I create two users, admin and one for him. After he has install all applications that he need for school, I gave the admin a password. Now my son can't install applications or change system settings. But i must give him admin rights, because when he stay at school, he must change the airport environment for school and if he stay at home he must change it back to home. Is it not possible to set the rights for a not admin user so, that he can change the airport environment?

If he needs admin status to use the wireless connection, then you need to make him an admin user. As far as I know, there is no partial admin configuration.

Aha! It would appear that this is exactly the sort of thing that using a non-admin account would normally protect you from.

That's good news. So I wonder where the "Applications" folder has been moved to... The folder that is opened when "Finder" is activated is something that can be changed through the "Finder" > "Preferences" menu under "General". I suspect that it is either "Home" or "Documents", so that when you refer to "Finder > Applications", the path is actually either "Macintosh HD" > "Users" > "Applications", or else "Macintosh HD" > "Users" > "Documents" > "Applications".
To put things back, it might be easier to temporarily remove any "Parental Controls" from your current account and check the "Allow user to administer this computer" check box.
Then rename the "Macintosh HD" > "Applications" folder (the one with only "iTunes") to something else, eg "Applications-temp". After that, open a second window and drag the folder you refer to as "Finder > Applications" to where it belongs in the "Macintosh HD" window.
Now check the versions of "iTunes.app" in the "Applications" and "Applications-temp" folder - one way to do this is to click on the iTunes icon once and change the "Finder" window to "Column View" ("View" > "As Columns", or use the keyboard shortcut ⌘3). The version number should be displayed in the "Preview" panel. Take the older version (lower version number), and throw it away. If necessary, drag the newer version into the "Macintosh HD" > "Applications" folder.
Now, open "Macintosh HD" > "Applications" > "Utilities" > "Disk Utility.app", select your hard drive, and click the "Repair Disk Permissions" button (not the "Repair Disk" button). This might take a few minutes.
Hopefully that will do it, and you can go back and make the account a non-admin again.
I should mention that with some third pary apps, if they were originally installed while the "Applications" folder had been moved, they may complain if their location is changed. It might be necessary to reinstall those, although it will likely depend on a case to case basis.

Help setting up accounts and user rights for students

hi there, we've just bought an xserve for a college classroom running 20 imac clients and me being new to the xserve and macs in general wondered if you guys can tell me the workflow for setting user accounts up and getting the students to log onto the xserve domain with their accounts. so that the xserve can give their imacs the restrcitions for their use (user rights basically) how the imacs log on has really got me stumped as with windows it does it on logging in? any help would be appreciated

I've just realised that you have to manually remove some stuff from the classes such as reference to J2Se classes.

Customising the admin and user console

I want to customise the Admin and User Console for helpdesk users. Therfore I want them to have create user and manage user menu access. I have created a helpdesk user group and assigned create and manage menu items. When I logon as the helpdesk user I can see the menu items, however if I do a search for users, no records are found. Likewise if I create a user, organisations are not found on the organisations lookup. I have tried assigning various privileges for the group but with no success. Am I missing something obvious?

For HelpDesk admin to be able to search for users, he/she need to be Organization Admin for the company for which they can search for users. For instance, if you have Organizations : ABC, XYZ in your OIM instance and you want HelDesk admin to be able to search for users within "ABC", then the corresponding group has to be an admin for "ABC". To do this, search for the Organization and assign Administrators using the option available in the Organization profile page drop-down.
Once the above task is done, you should be able to search and also assign the Organization to newly created user.

Regarding Background color change in OIM admin and user console

I tried to change the Background color and Text modification in Login Page,Register Page of OIM Adminstration and user console.
As per the Oracle® Fusion Middleware Developer's Guide for Oracle Identity Manager 11g guide i did Style Sheet Modifications.I created the skin the trinidad-skins.xml and myskin.css in admin.war and iam-consoles0faces.war.Even after it not reflecting on oim admin and user console.
After modifiacetions i cleared purgecache.sh as well as tmp [$DOMAIN_ROOT/servers/oim_server1/tmp/] directory.
I think i have done modifications in wrong way.Can anyone please suggest me to do the correct modifications as soon possible.

All i can recall is changing some files for customization like changing some text through filexlWebApp.war and i also i have not i am still to run patch utility. I guess this should not be the reason.

Automount and user rights

Dear readers and admins
Accoring the document Autofs.pdf from Apple itself, I did set up the following aoutmounts.
/Volumes/Users/thomas/Music -fstype=afp afp://thomas:[email protected]/music/thomas/Music
/Volumes/Users/thomas/Pictures -fstype=afp afp://thomas:[email protected]/photo/thomas/Pictures
/Volumes/Users/thomas/Movies -fstype=afp afp://thomas:[email protected]/video/thomas/Movies
This did work for the first two entries.
As I did decide to add the third one, I face now the following problems.
1.) All three mount points ar no more accessable. The user and group right did change at the time of mounting from "Username Staff" to "_spotlight wheel". I'm no more able to change with chown, chmod or else. This is even NOT possible if I'm connected with the activated Root account.
2.) As I'm using my system in an other language then English, the nest glitch is, that ONLY the mount point "Pictures" will have the translated name "Bilder". The mount point "Music" is changing between the original name and the translated name "Musik" every second. And lastly, the mount point Movies doesn't show the translated name "Filme" at all.
My main problem is #1. How can I change or at least delete the wrong mount points. If I try it, it tells me "mv: cannot rename a mount point" or "
thomas:thomas root# chown thomas:wheel Movies/
chown: Movies/: Operation not permitted".
Does anyone have a solution next to reinstall the hole system?

When you execute SQL commands from PL/SQL blocks or procedure the GRANTS has to be direct and not through ROLE,
exec sys.dbms_lock.sleep(5) this will work from SQL . You can check this by typing SEZT ROLE NONE and then try to execute exec sys.dbms_lock.sleep(5), It may not work since the grant was through ROLE and not to the user.

Impossible to set up a TC with admin and users privileges

Sorry for my english first. I'm not an english speaker...
That's one week I'm playing with my Tc to try to set it up with admin and users privileges and and doesn't succeed to find a good way to do it....
What I want to do: set up my Tc so that I'm an admin and can do whatever I want in the folders of each user. I want the user to have access to one folder with their name. Let's say I would like to user my TC like a usual network drive or NAS.
What I discover: if I enable file sharing with accounts on my TC and define two users user1 and user2 with Read write privileges, user1 can see a folder user1 and put whatever he wants in it and there's a share folder for user1 and user2. BUT I cannot be admin on the TC when account filesharing is on. It means I cannot put anything in user1 folder beacuse I don't see user1 folder. It is just like if you have user accounts on TC you can just change the privileges but not defined an administrator. I'm able to see user1 folder for instance solely changing the filesharing back to secure shared disks "with time capsule password". If i do so I can see all the folders on the TC.
But it's very annoying because it means that each time I want to put a file inside the folder of one of my user, I have to restart my TC "with time capsule password", put the file, set it up back to user account and restart again the TC.... Not really practical!
Anyone got an idea how to use the Tc with user accounts (one admin and others users...)

I forgot to mention that I tried also another method: giving guest access to TC to my two users but there are several problems here: first they can only read (if not they would have the same privileges as me) what means they can put any document in the TC. Second, they see all the folders on the TC and the idea is that they can only see the shared one....

If you're the only user, you need to have admin privileges...
If you're not the only user, and you don't trust the other users, then just give one person admin privileges... That said, I know of several bays here in Denver which are used extensively by many users and they all share the same user account without a problem... just sort of depends on how much you trust all those different folks.
FCP runs fine either way, but only admin's can install updates or other applications. In some cases you can even set up systems that won't allow users to even use utilities... I think this is likely taking things a bit far, but it's certainly not unknown to do this. (keeps them from reformatting drives for example).
But in and of itself, FCS runs OK with or without admin privileges.

How can I Map of Admin and S&D Expenses with Activity Types? See the below scenorio:
I need to add the cost to Technicion Salary,Supevisor Salary, Packing Charges and Labeling to to COGM to get COGS.
all expenses belong to one Activity Type i.e. Assembling.
Example:
Technicion Salary is Re. 30,000 Total Activity units are 15,000. So, each product tech sal is Re.2. same funtionality for all above expenses.

1.a Create a Splitting rule with in OKES and Choose the method 12 (activity Qty)
2. Add an assignment line in the Splitting Str and assign the Splitting rule to it
3. Create a Cost Ele group and assign it in SOURCE
4. Map the same cost ele group to Act Types
5. Assign the Prod cost center to this Splitting Str in OKEW
If you want brealup of act price, Then create a Cost Comp Str and assign in your Plan Version in OKEQ

Hi Experts,
The requirement is to change the GL account when PGI is done for a delivery.
I have coded in the above user exit for changing the GL account. I am facing the issue here.
I am changing the GL account through a user exit, but even before the user exit is called the standard SAP is throwing a error.
the Error is GL account is blocked for posting in the company code. This check is happening for the GL account what standard SAP proposes from the customization. The GL account that is getting picked is blocked in SPRO for posting in the mentioned company code. Because of the error message, our z code is not getting executed.
Kindly suggest if some user exits that can be used even before this error message. or let me know if you have any suggestions to over come this.
I have coded this in the enhancement point. Include MM07MFK0_KONTIERUNG_PRUEFEN and subroutine kontierung_pruefen.

In addition to the "User's Guide" there has also been a PDF "Features Guide" for each version of the iPod touch. (The one iwell provided a link for is not for the 4th generation iPod touch. (The 'at a glance' sketch shows the on/off button on the left. It's on the right on the 4th generation iPod touch.) It's possible Apple hasn't posted it yet. But I appreciate you both for trying. Cant able to see new value and old value for change in purchase order text

I am not able to see changes done in material's purchase order text in material master. When i use tcode MM04 to see changes done material master it does not report new and old value for change if it is done in purchase order text of that material .

How can I locate my lost iPod Touch if my location was off and user ID was changed?

I lost 3 Apple devices during house break in. How can I locate my lost Apple devices if my location was turn off,
without "Find My Phone" apps and user ID was changed. The 3 devices are iPod Touch, iPad 2 and iPhone 3gs.
I had made a Police Report and was told that I can request to get information to track my devices upon WIFI or
internet connection. I hope "APPLE" team will help me to track my devices with IP locations, GPS, built in compass,
or quickly send directions, updated informations and mobile data to find out and coordinates them.
Given point will also help the police to capture them.

Apple does not provide nor have that information, as far as I know, but if police needs that information, they have a legal way of contacting Apple.
