Admin Console incorrect instance status and deployment timeout issues

Dear All
I am using weblogic 10.3.6 on two AIX, 3 instances on each and 2 instance are clustered. I found that when I start all instances, admin console will become unstable. Such as when starting 1 instance, will affect another started instance to be 'STARTING'.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/o225w9w74mzn33d/weblogic_admin.PNG
Also, when all instances are started, I could not complete deployment for EAR. Timeout will occur will activating change.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/rjhae9haw06926d/weblogic_timeout.PNG
Any idea ?
Many thanks
Chris

I assume the admin interface is running on the same machine as the server instance.
By default the Web Server instances use a directory in /tmp as a scratch/temp dir (something like /tmp/instance_name.hash/, e.g. /tmp/www.qweqwe.com-7f54fa82). One of the files stored there is the pid file. The pid file contains the pid of the running instance and is used by the admin interface (and the stop script, and the Admin agent I think) to keep track of which webservd "owns" which instance, etc. Unfortunately the /tmp directory is kept clean by the OS, and sometimes the OS daemon will remove the Web Server's directory and its associated files. When this happens the Web Server will (usually) continue working as though nothing were wrong, but the admin interface (and stop script, etc) will show that the instances are "Not Running."
For this reason one of the first things I do with a new Web Server instance is move its directory into the Web Server install location (something like /export/WS7/instance_name.hash/) and update the server.xml temp-path element to reflect the new location. Note that Web Server is very specific about how it wants the permissions set on this directory. It will report in its errors log if you get the permissions wrong.

  • 1 Admin console to manage OSB and SOA installed on different servers

    Dear All,
    We are planning to have OSB installed on Host 1 and SOA server installed on Host 2. But there will be one Admin console to manage these 2 for the ease of maintenance. When i was trying to install this configuration I had few issues. Hope SOA experts can help me with the configuration.
    1)
    As SOA and OSB are installed on 2 different host both the servers must have weblogic installed as pre requisite. So I will have
    on host 1:
    http://host1:7001/console
    http://host1:7001/sbconsole
    On host 2:
    http://host2:7001/console (this is redundant)
    http://host2:8001/soa-infra
    2) Is it possible to inactivate http://host2:7001/console ? and add SOA server running on host2 to http://host1:7001/console. In the sense, I would like to control the SOA server from host 1.
    Issue No :2
    When I create a domain on Host 1 I just get the options for OSB and not SOA. It is obvious as SOA is not installed on Host1. but if that is the case, Is it possible to add SOA server running on host2 to host1. Is it going to be a cluster?
    Is this configuration seems realistic? Has anyone implemented. Any pointers please.
    Reagrds,
    Aani

  • Problems with admin console in firefox 4 and chrome 10

    I am experiencing problems when accessing the admin console with firefox 4.0 or chrome.
    Apparently this came up after i switched to firefox 4.0.
    Symptoms:
    In many admin screens the detailed information is missing. e.g. the list of SGD servers is not visible at all.
    Sometimes it flashes briefly, as if it were created but deleted immediately afterwards....
    Has anybody seen this?
    The same does not occur with Internet Explorer.

    You can use a userscript like this one to make it work in Chrome and Firefox:
    // ==UserScript==
    // @match https://*/sgdadmin/*
    // ==/UserScript==
    var a = document.all;
    for (var i = 0; i < a.length; i++) {
    var e = a;
    if(e.id.match("Form:")) {
    e.hidden = false;

  • VC - Compile and Deploy performance issues related to UserID

    Dear Guru's,
    I'm currently working at a customer where a small team of 4 is working with VC 7.0.
    One user has very long Compile and Deploy times. We first thought that it was related to his workstation.
    Then one of the other guys logged in on his PC and run the compile + deploy ant then it suddenly takes seconds again.
    So we created a new userID for this user who has the issues "<oldUI>+test" and suddenly all is back to normal for him.
    But, now here it comes that we deleted his old userID and created it again, but the issue is still there.
    So my assumption is that there is some kind of faulty record or index or something other strange linked to his userID.
    What can this be and how can we solve it?
    Thanks in advance!
    Benjamin

    Hi Anja,
    We use VC on 7.0 and we do not have any integration with the DTR.
    So in other words we use the default way of working with VC.
    The user had his models in his Personal folder then moved it to the Public folder so that other colleagues could see/try them as well. It doesn't matter where the model is stored (public or personal) as long if this specific UID is used compiling/deploying goes very slow... the log files do not give much info, why this happens...
    Cheers,
    Benjamin

  • Feature request for SCCM 2012 Admin Console

    Can anyone provide a link to submit SCCM 2012 feature requests? All I could find is 2007.
    I'd like to see a column added to the admin console for primary user and/or last logon user. I realize there are scripts for queries, but a column would be more useful. Short of that, adding either of those to the Search Criteria options would be helpful.

    I've already submitted a similar request for checking deployments to systems.

  • Building an Admin Console Extension for a Custom Security Provider

    I am looking for an example or a description how to build an Administration Console extension for a custom Authentication Provider.
    Especially the creation page for the provider is interesting because I am not able to create and register the required Authentication Provider MBean.
    The call “mbeanHome.getMBeanServer().createMBean(className,objectname)” always throws the following Exception “javax.management.ReflectionException: The MBean class could not be loaded by the default loader repository”
    Even if I try the class “weblogic.security.providers.authentication.IPlanetAuthenticator”, that is part of the bea distribution, the same exception is thrown.
    It seams that the Problem has something to do with class loaders?
    When I use the standard admin console pages to create and configure my provider everything works fine.
    The only example “kennedy0208.zip” I found in the net does not deal with the creation of the MBean.
    It only customizes the edit pages for the provider and at that point the MBean has already been created by the standard admin pages.
    Maybe the author discovered the same Problems and gave up!?
    What makes me wondering is that I have to put my MBean Classes to my console extension war file to be able to import the packages in my jsp.
    If I not put the classes to my war the compiler throws an exception because he can’t resolve the package.
    Because I moved my provider implementation jar to the directory “WLHOME\server\lib\mbeantypes” as described in the bea documentation it should run without putting the classes to the war!?!
    I am very surprised that the bea documentation does not provide any example about this topic.

    Found it. Cut and paste error. I still had one of their example class
    names in my code. Oops.

  • Unable to connect to the Essbase server from Admin console

    Hi,
    I have installed Essbase Server 9.3, Client 9.3 and Administration Server 9.3 in my laptop.
    The Essbase server is working fine. I am able to see all the sample applications from Excel add in. (This mean client is also working fine).
    But, the problem is when i try to connect to the Essbase server, its not allowing me by producing an error:
    "Unable to connect to the Essbase server please check the user name & password"
    username: admin
    password; password.
    i tried several times...but its not working.
    Please advise me.
    FYI, The admin server service is started already.

    Hi Subrahmanyam,
    Here , there are 2 things
    1. Check, your essbase server is up and running ,and your admin service is up. Now , when you open the 'essbase admin console ' , provide user name and password as
    admin
    password
    2. After you are connected to the console i.e admin console .
    You see
    enterprise view -> essbase analytic server -> under this , you might see your host name ( i.e of your laptop).
    This host is your essbase server , and if you want to connect to it .Provide 'username' and 'password' ,which you have give after your essbase installation
    So, conclusively, here we are dealing with 2 different sets of 'username' and 'passwords'
    In step 1-> to connect to console , use 'admin' 'password'
    In step 2-> to connect ot essbase server, use the credentials wchih you had given after installation of essbase server
    Hope this clarifies you, as this is a lil confusion to many

    Hi,
    Please go to IIS Manager (Switch to Content View) to check the files there:
    Expand Sites > Exchange Back End > 15.0.620.29 (my Exchange server is Exchange 2013 CU1). Please check whether there are any file folders under themes and Scripts folder. If there is no folder there, please copy the whole folders "Scripts"
    and "Themes" or the entire folder of 15.0.620.29 (cu1) folder from Exchange Installation Path /ClientAccess/ ECP/ CU1 folder in a working machine(the same Exchange version) to the update folder on same location.
    Please switch to IIS manager Feature View, go to Exchange Back End > ECP home, open Application Settings in /ecp Home, please check whether the value for “BinSearchFolders” is changed to an invalid value. If so, please change it to:

    Then run IISReset /noforce from a prompted command window to restart IIS services.
    If all above doesn’t work, please collect some error logs for further analysis.

  • Updates in Admin Console don't update Muse?

    I've been making some changes in the Admin Console of Business Catalyst and notice when I update they don't update files in Muse?  Am I missing something?  Same thing happens when I want to make code changes in Dreamweaver, Muse doesn't update.  I like the design capability of Muse, however, need to do some special things using Dreamweaver CS6 or at least the Admin Console of Business Catalyst, yet keep my updates current in Muse.
    Any help?
    Gary

    Hi Gary,
    You need to treat Muse  as something that is very basic. A means to help Graphic Designers delve into the web world to produce some form of website. While a clever tool in many ways and while the team behind it are pretty awesome, its a point and click app.
    It wont do a great job compared to knowing the craft and using tools that are specifically for that craft.
    But in any case, if you work online and do not sync files locally in any application or have a process of where you only work locally and put online etc you will run into issues if you change things online and then go to work locally.

  • Equivalent of Weblogic Portal admin console in Webcenter ?

    Our company is currently equipped with Weblogic Portal (WLP) 10.3.2. I'm part fo the team in preparing a migration approach study to Oracle Webcenter (OWC).
    In WLP 10.3.2 we are using JSF, WSRP and 286 portlets. Hence most of it can be reused in OWC.
    Regarding run time customisation in Weblogic+ Portal administration console we can create desktop and include books, pages, portlets in Portal.
    Can we achieve the same in Oracle Webcenter through Webcenter Portal administration console ?
    While going through Oracle documentation I found the foll. thing "Composer in WebCenter Portal has been leveraged extensively inside Oracle WebCenter Portal: Spaces to allow users to customize and personalize spaces."
    I'm not clear if I can achieve the equivalent of Weblogic Portal administration console+ in Webcenter using Webcenter Portal administration console (or) Spaces (or) Composer ?
    Any helpful pointers / links would be helpful.
    Thanks for the helping heart in advance.

    As you are expecting simple mapping, it will be not be there, because they change whole product in such way that there is no one to one mapping between weblogic portal and webcenter portal.
    Spaces used for run time development of team sites and other collaboration sites, so this will be not useful to you in your scenario. Composer is run time customization of page. So if you want to give user capability to change content and page then you can use this feature.
    But for your answer or requirement you can use web center portal admin console to create pages and put portlet inside it from WC Portal Admin console. I know you might have gone through tutorials, but here is the quick one.
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/webcenter.1111/e12405/wcadm_admin_apps.htm
    With WC oracle made too much complexity to understand. As a weblogic portal developer I also always try to compare things with WL portal :-)
