Admin password request dialog appears when sending e-mails in Mail

Hello,
I have just upgraded MacOSX to Mavericks (10.9.1) [and Apple Server 3.0.]
Ever since the upgrade, whenever I try to send an e-mail with Mail, MacOSX displays a dialog with fhe following message: "OSX would like to make modifications. Please input your name and an administrator password to grant authorization (OS X would like to use the System keyring)" [roughly  translated to English from a Romance Language].
Obviously, I have some file rights issue. But how can I fix it?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Philroc

I think it is a compatibility issue with your anti virus.
Try this
*Restart the operating system in '''[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safe_mode safe mode with Networking]'''. This loads only the very basics needed to start your computer while enabling an Internet connection. Click on your operating system for instructions on how to start in safe mode: [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode Windows 8], [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-7 Windows 7], [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-vista Windows Vista], [http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=true" Windows XP], [http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1564 OSX]
; If safe mode for the operating system fixes the issue, there's other software in your computer that's causing problems. Possibilities include but not limited to: AV scanning, virus/malware, background downloads such as program updates.

What has happened to the rotating disk when sending e-mails in 6.2?

Fast user switching is on... I use the Name reference but I've tried switching to icon with the same result. If the a account I'm switching to is not logged in I get a blank Blue screen for about 2 seconds then the desktop of the account. If the account is already logged in then from the login window (all accounts have passwords) it just switches directly to the desktop.
I have spaces turned on on my main account however none of the other accounts do, the same thing happens regardless of which account you are switching from or to.
If you hadn't said it was working for you I would have believe they just pulled it from Leopard.

  • When sending e-mail, a message says that the sent folder is full,-- even though it is not-- however the mail still gets sent. No problem sending mail to myself

I am running Thunderbird version 33.1 Recently, when sending e-mail, I get an error message indicating that the sent folder is full and that I should empty or compress it to fix the problem-- so I emptied it-- problem remains. Also, there is no record of sending the e-mail in the sent folder, even though the mail has been sent. No such problems occur when I send mail to myself.
    Any suggestions ???

If you deleted some of the messages you have done one half of the process. Deleting a message just marks it for deletion and hides it from view. You have to COMPACT the folder to actually delete the messages and free up the space.
I agree that Thunderbird did a poor job naming this process because it is the subject of much misunderstanding.
    Read about compacting here.

  • I can't bring up my contact list when sending E mails, says error code

At times I can't bring up my contact list when sending E mail. It says contact list error code. I can bring up my contact list when I use internet explorer. Sometimes fire fox crashes for no apparent reason ....

Firefox doesn't do email, it's a web browser.
If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.

  • Certain characters not appearing in the "full name" when sending e-mail

I have certain characters in my full name of one of my e-mail aliases in iCloud. However, those characters are simply absent from the name shown as sender name when sending mail from Mail app in OS X. For me the problematic characters are C5 A1 and C4 8D (UTF-8 codes).

Yes, š and č are those. Sorry, I wasn't sure if they will work here. I have my full name containing the š and č in the "Full Name" field of the e-mail alias settings on web interface to the iCloud Mail. But in Mail on OS X my name in the "From" field appears without those two characters (other characters are OK) when I select this alias. Also, those two characters are invisible at the recipient's side. And yes, if I sent a copy of such a mail to myself the š and č are missing again in the "From" field.
However, I have the same full name with š and č for my main e-mail address (iCloud account name). Using this main e-mail address š and č appear everywhere!

  • Remove geo-tag from iPhone photos when sending via Mail

I sometimes send companies/people photos I've taken with my iPhone. It is convenient to take them, and send them.
However, I've noticed that the geo-tag is not stripped from the photos when sent via Mail.app
Technically, one could figure out where I live with it — not comfortable with that. I like the feature for my collection in iPhoto, but nowhere else. Facebook strips it out (smartly).
Any suggestions apart from using 3rd party apps?

Thanks guys, but I know I can disable it for future pictures — but I want to keep it for most pictures, but also feel safe that when I'm sharing them, that this information is stripped out.
Any ideas apart from 3rd party apps?
    Maybe a feature request, no?

If I understand your question, do this:

  • E75 - Strange character when sending e-mail

    Hi,
I have a Nokia e75 that sends strange characters when sending swedish e-mail.
    This was sent:
Jag skickade ingen inbjudan till dej, men kollar så att den är kvar.
    This was recived:
Jag skickade ingen inbjudan till dej,men jag kollar så att den är kvar.
    Whats wrong?
    - For your info this e-mail account is a company e-mail with exchange.
    Thx
    Christoffer

The e-mails that you send from your E75 are already encoded with UTF-8 (at least if they contain non-ASCII characters).
The problem is either being cause by an incorrectly set e-mail server (not likely), or by the e-mail client (or web browser) that you're using to read the message.
I've just tested sending an e-mail from my E75 (using an ovi account with Nokia Messaging) containing various non-ASCII characters (ä, ö, ñ, etc.) two different accounts (one of them was read using Lotus Notes, the other is a webmail account), and both display everything correctly.
If you can, send yourself an e-mail containing swedish letters to an e-mail account where you can view the e-mail in "source" form, and check if you see the following lines in the header:
    Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8"
    Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable
If you don't see exactly that, please look for lines in the header that begin with "Content" and post them here!
It may help also if you post details of how you are reading the e-mail (webmail, and if so, which browser; or an e-mail client, and if so, which; operating system, language of OS, etc.)
    Good luck.

  • How to pull up contact when sending new mail

Is there anyway to show contacts when sending a new e mail.  Example on windows it will sow all contacts and then click on the ones you want to send to.  Is there anyway to do this using Macbook Pro with Lion 10,7.4

NOT to detract from what Carolyn said, which is correct, but if you wanted to see everyone you ever sent to, in menu at top of page  mail>window> previous recipients (you can see in vews by date,by name and you can search someone)
Also you can put folks into your address book easily if from mail>view>customize toolbar and then add to the top of an email page "add sender"

  • E61i error when sending e-mail

I am trying to send e-mail messages from my brand new E61i. I have verified the configuration is OK. The Internet connection works for all applications, including retrieving e-mails.
When I try to send an e-mail, the phone connects to the remote SMTP server, which rejects the message. On the phone, I get a saying that the sending failed.
The interesting part is actually on the SMTP server side: the log file shows that the recipient address has been replaced by the phone with the string "ReceiptAddress". Strangely, this is exactly matching the name of a string value in the
    SymbianOS library.
Here is the relevant extract from the SMTP server log file (which I manage). The data has been anonymized, but I am willing to provide the original logs by private e-mail.
    Aug 31 08:20:52 myhost postfix/smtpd[26867]: 4281F9C014: reject: RCPT from ip-12-34-56-78.dyn.dsl.myisp.com[12.34.56.78]: 550 5.1.1 <ReceiptAddress>: Recipient address rejected: User unknown in local recipient table; from=<[email protected]> to=<ReceiptAddress> proto=ESMTP helo=<[192.168.0.101]>
FWIW, the software version on my phone is 1.0633.22.05 from 15-02-07 RM-227
Note to the support or development team: If I can help in any way to debug this problem, please let me know.
If there is a fix, of course it is even better.

I do agree, my E61i has the same trouble. I think we need a fix
    for this...
and OTOH there is another big email problem: the classical
header prefixes like Re:, Fwd: and so on are replaced following
the phone language, so for Italian you get R: and I:, that are
totally bogus and, I think, non-rfc compliant.
I suppose that for German you'll get something like Aw: for replies
This MUST be fixed, with the standard values!
    Bye
