  • How to Reset Windows 7 Administrator Password on My Laptop

I have windows 7 Home Premium and i forgot the administrator password. whenever i start the windows 7, it asks for the password to log in. unfortunately, i forgot it. what to do?
I forgot the administrator's password. I'm not able to log in to windows. It says, "did you forgot the password?" whenever i try to log in. How do i reset forgotten Windows 7 admin password without losing data?

    In your
your situation, you can recover your password form Safe Mode.Windows 7 system has a built-in administrator account that is created during Windows installation and disable by default, which has no password in it. You need to enable that account before forgetting
your other admin account password. Otherwise your built-in administrator account won’t appear in the screen in this tip.
Step 1: Start your win 7 computer and press “F8″ while the computer boots up. Scroll down to “Safe Mode with Command Prompt” with the arrow keys on the keyboard and press “Enter.” Your computer starts in Safe Mode with Command Prompt.
Step 2: Select the Administrator account that appear in the screen, then enter command prompt. Type: net user ****** 123456 and enter (****** is the account name and 123456 is the new password), it will show you a message that” the command completed successfully.
Step 3: Restart your win 7 computer, then you can log in as ****** with the password 123456. You can go to control Panel to change your account password if necessary.
    If this
way doesn't work you can try a tool named Windows Password Recovery Tool Ultimate.

    Tutorial: Resolving Keychain Issues
If you can't access your keychain, or forget your password If you can't get into your keychain file because you've forgotten your password or the keychain file appears to be corrupt, there are a couple of options.
First, if you've forgotten your password, you can use the "Keychain First Aid" utility to make the keychain password the same as the login password. This can be accomplished via the following process:
      1. Open Keychain Access (located in Applications/Utilities)
      2. Go to the "Keychain Access" menu and select "Preferences"
      3. Click the "First Aid" tab
      4. Make sure the "Synchronize login keychain password" box is checked
      5. Close the Preferences window
      6. Go to the "Keychain Access" menu and select "Keychain First Aid"
      7. Enter your username and password
      8. Click the "Repair" button
The second option is to completely delete your keychain then recreate it. This routine is useful if your keychain appears to be corrupt or otherwise inaccessible. This can be accomplished as follows:
      1. Launch Keychain Access (located in Applications/Utilities)
      2. Click "Show Keychains" in the lower-left corner of the window.
      3. Select the problematic keychain from the left-hand pane.
      4. Navigate to the "File" menu and select "Delete Keychain '(name of keychain)'"
      5. Check all options for deletion and press "OK"
      6. Create a new keychain by going to the "File" menu, then "New" and selecting
          "New Keychain"
      7. You can now make this keychain your default if you desire by selecting it, then
going to the "File" menu and selecting "Make '(name of keychain)' Default"
Login as root and perform repair In some cases, problems with keychains can only be resolved when logged in as the root user.
First, you want to enable the root user:
      1. OS X Mountain Lion: Enable and disable the root user
      2. OS X Lion: Enable and disable the root user
      3. Mac OS X 10.6: Enabling the root user
      4. Enabling and using the "root" user in Mac OS X
After enabling the root user, and logging in under this account, again open Keychain Access. First attempt repairs using Keychain First Aid, and failing that, delete then recreate the keychain as described above while logged in as root.
Persistently asked for stored passwords If you are persistently asked for passwords in various applications that you have specified should be remembered in a keychain, your "login" keychain may not be active for one reason or another.
Navigate to ~/Library/Keychains/ (this is the Library folder inside your user's home folder). Find the file named "login.keychain" and double-click it.
Failing that, select the "login" keychain within the Keychain Access application and make sure it is the default keychain by going to the "File" menu and selecting "Make 'Login' Default"
Turn off Keychain synchronization in applications having problems If specific applications are experiencing issues when accessing password-protected material, the Keychain may be to blame.
The above comes from an article published on MacFixit.com.

  • I want to turn off the administrator password which is required when my kids sign onto the internet. They have their own passwords and pages.

I cannot figure out where the administrator password is so I can disable it. I do have parental controls on.

    Hey Csound1,
Looks like we found a solution, it's Mickey Mouse but it works.  After talking to two Apple Senior Advisors, this is the fix they came up with:
The first advisor after exploring it for awhile, came to the conclusion the way to get my calendars back local On my Mac with the alerts as I had then was to import the saved .ics files with my my 'dangerous email alerts' being removed then me manually re-adding them.   I said that was a no go.
The second advisor, after speaking with me for awhile and trying a few things that we'd tried before said he'd do some work on his end and call me back.  A couple of hours later he phoned back with a fix that I guess will have to do, his solution:
I had to go into Calendar-preferencs-accounts and create a Gmail calendar, quit and restart Calendar, I created a calendar in the gMail account.  Then I was given the option  in Calendar under File-New Calendar to create On my Mac local calendars.  Next was to create local calendars with the same names as my iCloud calendars.  Now I had to un-check all calendars but one, put Calendar in month view, command-click all the events for the given calendar and drag them to the new local calendar of the same name.  I then had to repeat this for each of the calendars and for all 12 months of the year.
I'm not done yet but it seems to be working.  As I said Mickey Mouse but doing the job.  It seems creating another online calendar account was the only way to get the local On my Mac option, active again.  What a pain in the a** this has been, I will repeat it again
    iCloud is EVIL.

  • Is there such a thing as a default administrator password?

I've searched these forums & elsewhere but haven't seen anything quite like this. My parents' new iMac was set up by someone else several months ago & I am visiting them for the first time since.
Things generally work OK but they find that occasionally they are prompted for a password to update the keyboard's firmware, for example, but then their administrator's password (which works otherwise for software updates) won't work for these prompts. In poking around their iMac I also discovered that some portions of System Preferences also seem to have a mystery password (unknown to any of us). For example, the security settings & the password settings can't be changed without this mystery password. I'm pretty sure that they didn't do anything or set a firmware password; I'm also pretty sure that the guy who set up their iMac wouldn't have done anything like this. He was pretty careful to leave printed out password & hint instructions for them. This is why I am wondering if there is some "factory default" administrator password or something that we've overlooked.
Does fixing this require using the installation disk to reset the administrator password, or is there something else that I should be doing or looking for?
Thanks so much for any advice you may have!

First Enable the root user account:
To enable the root user account:
Open System Preferences and click Accounts.
If the lock icon is locked, unlock it by clicking it and entering the name and password of an administrator.
Click Login Options, then click Join or Edit.
If you see an Edit button, your computer has at least one connection to a directory server.
    Click Open Directory Utility.
Choose Edit > Enable Root User.
    Next:
change the root user account password:
Choose Edit > Change Root Password.
When prompted, enter the new root password in the Password and Verify fields.
    Click OK.
    Next:
Choose Edit > Disable Root User.
    Close directory Utility.
If it won't allow you to execute the above instructions, then your account may not have
    any administrator privileges.

  • Windows 8.1 - data card asking administrator password while connecting.

    Dear Microsoft team,
My data card asking administrator password while connecting.
I am using win 8.1 64 bit and i have already changed UAC settings.
Note : it is working fine in administrator login.
Any help  appreciated in advance !

    Hi,
Based on your description, this happens to a standard domain account, you don’t necessarily disable the UAC, instead, you can add the domain account to the local administrator group, in this way, you grant permission to this account, then log on with the
domain account again to check the result.
You can follow the referenct below for details about it, this link is for Windows 7, but apply for Wndows 8, too:

I have an HP Pavillion Entertainment Laptop, dv9260us,...as you can probably guess I have had it a while (can't afforc a new one), nevertherless, in  my enthusiam(sp), I got an administrative password, unfortunately I am unable to remember it. Then I start all over again, with the samew results. It has been suggested I wipe Windows clean and start all over,.......but I don't know how to do that, and don't even know if that would work.
Whatever is suggested, or anything that might work,...I can use a usb (zip drive ?)storage then transfer to my HP laptop. Whatever you you gifted guys migh think will work,....I am eternally grateful,...it's a decent laptop, sure wish, with your knowledge, I can get it up and running......Thanks so much.........Maxie.
