Adobe, Adobe, Where have you gone?

I am 62 years old and have used Adobe software for apx 15 years. Now, I teach classes in Audio and Video [production, editing, etc]. The classes are free to the very select students who qualify. It is totally non profit. But, there is no doubt that these dedicated and passionate students will be the industries "Who's Who" in the future. Adobe has always been [one of] the top production softwares available. The price is prohibitive to many but demanded by many porofessionals. It is a Must, that todays Production students, be familiar with Adobe Software's.
Up until about 5 or 6 weeks ago, Adobe was ambitious, heading for a higher orbit. Company plans [according to executives] were looking to become the industry standard [undisputed] top software. They had great goals and apprently knew exactly how they would achieve them. Then! Something happened . . . Adobe was hacked .... they notified their customers of the "Nightmare". And, it seems, Adobe fell out of orbid and is in a freefall. I know I am not the only person hoping Adobe's parachutte will open and allow the company a safe landing. Also, after reading dozens of post, I am not alone when it comes to major problems [all of a sudden] with Adobe and with Customer Support. Being a Creative Cloud Member, I had downloaded 12 Adobe software products. After changing my password [at Adobe's request], none of the software would funtion. I couldn't even open them. After going through a lot of time and frustration trying to get in contact with Adobe, I finally was able to talk to a service tech. He had a very thick accent [from India or in India?]. It was extreamly difficult to understand anything he said and after talking for 40 minutes, I was getting no answers. I ask to speak with a Manager or Supervisor. Finally, a Supervisor was put on the line. Unfortunately, his accent was even more difficult to understand and . . . it seemed he did not understand the English language very well. After spending more than an hour on the phone with Adobe, the only clues I received were .... Un-install all Adobe Software. Re-Install all Adobe Software. The time required to do this [12 software products] was 2+ hours. After completing the suggested "Fix", Still nothing. Also, I was unable to access any Learning Videos or Tutorials. The Adobe "Supervisor" had apologized and told me I would get a credit of 5 days. That was never received.
I am a Creative Cloud Member. I pay the monthly fees [out of pocket]. Most equipment, supplies, and software's are donated by Universities or the Companies who produce them. I decided to go ahead with paying Adobe because I feel it is a necessary and important part in the education of my students.
I, like so many others, will be waiting for Adobe to "Come Back!"

I found it (well the solution for my problem ;-).
Just comment out the searchroot parameter and ZENBuddy starts searching
from the root of the tree.

Hi,
I just did a fresh, clean system install, including Logic Pro X. My system is running like a dream, but there is one strange thing: Logic won't display the optoins for "Right Mouse Button" in the Preferences/Geneeral/Editing dialogue, even though my right click is active in the system prefs. Logic's preferencepane looks like this:
Isn't that weird?
Any help would be appreciated!

Don't feel silly!! It's a new setting and defaults to 'Off' if the system detects that you have run Garageband at any point.
It's an annoying, pointless setting, in my opinion.

Grey's Anatomy - oh where have you gone?!

Only series 5&7 are available on demand. All series were supposed to be available until the end of March. I take it this was a mistake. We are in the middle of series 6 so please please do not disappoint us!! Can you bring it back ASAP please??

I had the same problem with my iPhoto library of thumbnails. I found them, but when I am unable to drag more than one at a time! I can highlight more than one file in the list, but when I hold the command key or the option key or both (I tried various combinations) only one file will drag over. I could do this, but it will take a long time since I have a lot of photos.
Is it possible to drag a group of files or do I have to drag each one?

Battery- Where have you gone!!!

Anyone with an idea on just why battery life on 10.2.0.424, goes freaky?
Full battery charge last night, flat this morning.
Its been great until last night. I checked the app manager and the only huge user of cpu and memory is System.
surely the OS cannot go stupid in only 2 weeks. Seriously BB needs to spend some investment money in getting the OS right.
Something must be casuing this rapid battery drain, but what??

Give this a go:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete the contents the following folder:
User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: For Mavericks, 10.9, go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
where you can check the Show Library Folder checkbox.

Why does the N70 make this simple task so hard ?
Yes I can achieve the same with a memo but going through start date, end date makes a simple task that bit harder.

Found I can see more when a reminder appeared at the top of Notifications and I clicked on it. It opens a Reminders App which can then be kept in the dock.

Lost 2500 photos last night. Mt wife cut and paste a photo into power point for editing. then saved it as a photo. Now in iphoto there is just this one photo and the other 2500 have gone. Where have they gone???????

To answer some basic questions posted to aid people in helping me. These are
I believe it is version 11 of iphoto as i tried to update but it says it has the latest update and Mac is 2 weeks old from new.
OS is Lion.
I have just tried to look everywhere on the Mac to see where the photos might be.
There are no error messages showing on screen and it was fine before my wife did what she did. Even though we have back -ups of 95% of the pictures. I would like to know what happened so that it won't happen again.

Why have you updated from version 3 to 7 so quickly instead of point releases like everyone else. Apps dont work and its annoying. I liked firefox but I'm sick of this and gonna look for another browser.

Mozilla has switched to a rapid release cycle and that means a major update every 6 weeks, so there is more to come till the end of this year.

Where have they gone ? my photos ?

I built a web site with dreamweaver mx 2004 and all worked
well on my pc.
I uploaded it to my web host and all of the index page is
there but with no photos ? the style sheet is there all text is
correct but theres no photos or colours / and backgrounds are
missing as well,...well actually there is 1 photo which was in
another file, i deleted the photo and tried again and that photo is
ok,it reapeared. i moved a photo from my image file to the good
photo file but that does not appear on the site ? Ive spent hours
and do not know what to do and i need some sleep !

No - the images can in theory be in any folder - but most

No - as long as the links to them are correct in the html

that's a good way to do it and what most sites seem to do.
For a small site with just a page or two and a few images -
you could
keep all files in the one root folder - but to create some
sort of
order and make it easy to maintain sites have a number of
folders.
Even the html files will have a variety of folders to
logically
organise the material.
Dreamweaver manages the links - so if you move files around,
create
new folders etc - it updates the links. .

There used to be a very active Adobe forum participant. He used to annoy me and he used to delight me. He most frequently came up with noteworthy answers.
I used to be a regular reader of the Adobe forums too, not so much a participant. Things at Adobe forums changed…
Now with the advent of CS5, I am browsing a bit again to find out the pros and cons and the bugs etc.

Don't worry, I didn't take your message as personal. It's only that, if the information in your profile is correct (and a quick look at the titles of the threads in this forum will show that this is not always so), then you have no way of knowing what happened here, and therefore I tried to give some answers to your queries.
Basic questions that are answered in the Help menu of a program will always be asked -and ansered- in forums such as these. However, when answering that type of question becomes the almost exclusive task of participants in some of the product forums, something is wrong. Old timers have a right to miss the very valuable contributions of all those who have left or have been banned.
The difference between plain users and moderators + Adobe employees has always been there and cannot and should not be eliminated. Unfortunately, we have also lost some excellent moderators, and some very helpful employees -Nanguyen for example- have not been seen here for a long time.
The present status of these forums seems very far from a democracy, and I don't think that Adobe cares enough about the forums to be aware of this fact and its consequences.
And of course we are running the risk of being censored for going off topic...

CS3 Serial Numbers no longer in splashcreen... where have they gone?

Once upon a time adobe products displayed their serial numbers in the "About" splashscreen... but it seems no longer!
I need to reinstall my InDesign (since I installed an update. Arghhh) and want to make sure I'm entering the correct serial number for this copy, as we have 2 in the office, one of which has not had it's "spare" or "laptop" serial used yet. So I don't want to use that one on the reinstall, incase we get another laptop.
My receipts from purchase don't have the serial listed on them.
Should I assume the lower serial number is the older?
Or is there some new secret place within the applications that show the serial?

You can't find the serial number in the application or on the computer. If you've lost the original box with the numbers, you have two options:
- If you've registered the products you can log on to adobe.com and retrieve the s/n. Or, you can call Adobe and ask them to give them to you (you will need to prove that you are the one who registered them).
- If you still have the original receipt, you can contact Adobe Customer Service and ask them to provide you with the s/n for the product.

I no longer have any albums on ipad - where have they gone and how can I get them back.

I have "lost" my photo albums on the ipad. They were they and now they are gone. How can I get them back.
I have gone to choose albums to share and ticked the boxes and then "sync" and when I press the photos icon

Albums are logical entries in the iPhoto database - you need to restore fromyour backup to get them back

Where have I gone wrong? (PS3 + 23" Cinema Display)

Here I was thinking I was so clever buying an HDMI to female DVI adaptor so I could watch glorious blu-ray movies on my 23" Alu Display. However, after changing the video output on the PS3 to HDMI using my normal RCA TV and connecting the display up, all that happens is the little white light flashes three times, no picture.
What have I done wrong, and is there any way to fix it?
