Adobe CS (version 1) errors after OsX Leopard Installations

After I installed (aka updated) to OSX 10.5 Leopard:
1. Adobe Illustrator's "Command" key functions ...don't respond (all, copy paste etc). (command key still works..using command tab and such)
2. Adobe Photoshop doesn't respond to the shift key commands (layers).
It may be both Shift & Command keys for both that don't work even though I use one more than the other in each program. This is truly an OsX caused problem...
Has anyone experienced this issue? cuz it's really taxing and taking my time when I'm designing ads.

The odds of a corrupt font on a fresh install are small but the quitting seems like a font issue.
There is a scan program/option in Suitcase which checks for corrupted fonts.
Try running it.
You can also open Font Book and turn off fonts and try seeing if any of the fonts in your system are to blame. For this testing you will need to leave your mac on and test CS with fonts off. If you disable any of the system fonts you must re enable them befor shut down or you may not be able to restart.
Read this article on fonts before attempting the above trick. It might help to print it out.

  • I own a late 2009 Macbook Pro, and it keeps freezing after OSX Lion installation.

I own a late 2009 Macbook Pro, and it keeps freezing after OSX Lion installation.  I will post my computer's 'specs' below.  I installed Lion, from Snow Leopard, through the App store.  The first week, it worked like a dream, and was loving my brand new computer, or so it seemed.  I then began to run into problems, and I can't confirm this 100%, but I believe it was after I updated from 10.7.1, to 10.7.2.
The freezes are sporatic at best, and cannot be narrowed down to one app.  I googled the issue about two weeks ago, and found a fix involving a temporary log-in, verifying the disk, restarting the computer holding CMD+R, and repairing the disk from there.  That fixed the problem.  For about three or four days.  From there I brought my laptop to Best Buy, where I purchased the computer (start the groans, my dad wanted the accidental damage, and he was paying, there was no argument).  My warranty there was still good, but all they were offering was to check my hard-drive, and possibly ship it out.  That would not be good for me, as I am a High School student, who works online.
So I then decided to go to the Apple store, see what they said.  They said a bunch of people had this problem, it would cost a lot to fix, as I would need a new Logic Board.  This did not make any sense to me, as I knew it was Lion's fault, so why would they not make the L-2009MBP Logic Board compatible, and why are only a few people having this problem, well a lot more than a few, but I mean not everyone.
So I asked a friend about it, and we decided to run a back up, and erase the computer, and re-install Lion.  Figuring maybe my data was corrupted during install.  This helped for a day or two, and happened again.  So this time, we backed up only files (music, pics, documents, etc.,) and did a fresh install.  I got my computer back last night.  Now, I am not saying that didn't help.  Previously I would have frozen about 18 times well writing this, but I have not frozen once (hopefully I didn't just jinx myself).  I have gone from about one freeze every 10-15 minutes (sometimes worse), to about one every 1-3 hours.  Which, let's be honest is still a lot.
So, before I just decide to go and revert to Snow Leopard on my merry way, I ask, do any of you have any other ideas?  Or guarenteed fixes?  I know a guarentee is a hard thing to ask for, but I am desperate, my teachers are getting angry with me for not sending work, and I know this would help a lot of people.  Thank you to those who read through my whole spiel, and thank you to those who will help me!
[Ps, while I am somewhat of a noob, I know my way around a computer, so any help, or knowledge you could bestow upon me is awesome.  Especially DIY fixes.  (if your only advice is, don't buy a mac at Best Buy, don't bother commenting)]

Once it is downloaded you need to restart the computer if it does not restart automatically. When it next starts up you should note a progress bar appearing below the Apple logo. When done the computer will restart once more. The new firmware should now be installed.

  • Adobe Download Assistant gives error after finishing downloading, why?

I have downloaded the trial version of CS5.5 Master Collection twice. But when the download is completed Adobe Download Assistant gives Error and cannot install the software. I go check in the download folder and there's nothing there. My laptop haas ample available storage space (478 GB), running Windows 7 Home Edition, 64-bit.
I tried with smaller file (Photoshop CS5.1 Trial), same story.
Can someone please give me direct download links for following trial softwares:
    1. Photoshop CS5.1 Trial
    2. CS5.5 Master Collection
    Thanks
    Malila

This site shows how you can do a direct download:  http://prodesigntools.com/tag/ddl
Note that you have to follow their instructions carefully and exactly.
By the way, the word "software" is not pluralized by adding an 's' on the end.  Thus "softwares" is incorrect usage.  Just say "software" or "software packages" instead.

  • Error 1935 - Adobe Reader (11) - An error occurred during the installation of assembly component - Windows 7

    NOT RESOLVED
It seems to be a problem with my windows installation. I will re-install at a later date since installing PDF viewing programs the only issue.
    Problem:
While installing Adobe Reader XI using the install_reader11_en_mssd_aaa_aih.exe from Adobe Reader Install for all versions and AdbeRdr11000_en_US.msi from a forum post on here. Error 1935 occurs using both installers and causes the setup to fail and initiate rollback.
    Additional information:
In Programs & Features list there is no adobe reader as you can see:
This is pretty much a clean install of windows on which I have installed: Adobe Flash Player (16), Steam + some games, Chrome, Skype and some Visual C++ Redistributables, .NET Framwork, Drivers for GPU, CPU, Motherboard and USB devices.
    Error:
Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly component

    HRESULT: 0x80070308
    System:
    Windows 7 x64 - installed on a SSD.
    Motherboard: ASRock Z97 Extreme 4
    GPU: Gigabtye - G1 Gaming GTX 970
    CPU: Intel Core - i7 4770K @4.00 GHz
    RAM: 16GB Kingston Hyper X (8x2)
    Steps taken:
    1. I have cleared the transaction log using command prompt with the following command:
        fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\
Restarting the computer and trying to install Adobe Reader 11 results in the same error.
    2. Restarting the computer, disabling Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and installing Adobe Reader 11 results in the same error.
    3. Chrome has "allow all sites to run JavaScript" checked.
    Thanks
    Edit:
I have attempted to install an earlier version (10.1.4) of Adobe Reader - Same error occurs.
    Edit 2:
I'm going to look for some alternatives for the mean time
    Edit 2.1:
These alternative programs are failing to install as well. Multiple errors, I now assume the issue is with my windows installation.

  • Mac-Windows-Connection failes after Snow Leopard Installation

I am dealing with 4 PCs at home – an IMac, a MacBookPro, a Dell Dimension and a Dell Precision Workstation. Before I installed Snow Leopard I could connect easily from my Macs to my PC via “Connect with Server” and the “sudo pico /etc/hosts” hint to rename my Windows-PC to real names (e.g. Dimension and Precision). After the installation I am prompted in OS X to give my account name and password again! And, of course, I don’t work anymore (wrong user name or password error). Because I put those information in long ago, I am not quite sure if I am putting the wrong Name/Password info in or if something happened during the Snow Leopard installation. I was never quite sure if “Name” meant the name of my Windows account I want to log into, or my Mac user name or a combination of both or the Server /Name thing, e.g. Dimension\Name. Just for info: My Windows-PCs can still connect without a problem to both Macs.
Any help is appreciated what information exactly to put in that **** Name/Password box that appears if I want to connect to a Windows-PC from my Mac. Or what else could have happened during the Snow Leopard installation that cut of the former available ability to connect to my Windows-PC from OS X.

I was able to see the other Windows XP computer and begin to connect. I was then presented with a login screen. I tried using the usual user name and password - no luck. I then formatted the user name as as follows:
    user name: computer name\user name
    password: as normal
And it worked. Specifically in my case:
    user: cwy-pln2152\administrator
    password: planning
This is what worked for me your mileage may vary.

  • Error During Snow Leopard Installation

Last night I tried to install Snow Leopard on my iMac (Early 2006). Since I already had Leopard installed (and up-to-date), I purchased the upgrade disk and was using that for the install.
I inserted the disk and followed the onscreen instructions. After the computer did its thing, a message was displayed telling me that an error had occurred during installation. It also said that the contents of hard drive could not be changed.
I attempted to reboot with 10.5.8 by first using the start-up feature of Disk Utilities, but I was brought back to the installation screen for 10.6. I also tried holding down the option key during boot-up, but after a minute or two of the grey screen with the spinning wheel the computer just shuts down.
I'm a school teacher and I desparately need my computer to prepare stuff for tomorrow. Any help you can give me is extremely appreciated.

It sounds like your install disk has not been ejected. Try starting up without using the option key (i.e., starting up normally).

  • Adobe Anchor Service CS4 Error 1612. The installation source for this product is not available.

    Hi,
I've been trying to install CS4 Design Premium, except that I got this message:
    Adobe Anchor Service CS4
    Error:
Error 1612. The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it.
What is wrong and how do I fix it? I've installed this on my sister's laptop as well, but I've already uninstall it. Could this be the reason why?
    Help appreciated, thanks!

Contact Adobe Technical Support for CS4 installation issues.
The problem has nothing to do with the fact that you already installed the same software on your "sister's laptop as well." And although you have already uninstalled it (and hopefully deactivated it as well), please remember that this software is licensed for a single user! You and your sister cannot somehow share the license.

  • Desktop problems after Snow Leopard Installation

After a successful installation of Snow Leopard I am having problems with my Desktop. No matter what Desktop graphic I choose, after 2-3 minutes the Desktop goes back to a plain blue background. Any idea what is causing this? and how to fix it?

    Hmm,
I was not familiar with EarthDesk but now that I know about it - I conjecture that application runs in the background, right?
If it does run in the background - then that is the real base of the problem installing Snow Leopard. Others with (other) apps running in the background have experienced repeated run-then-eject-installer problems. One person reported that CarbonCopyCloner's scheduling app caused this specific problem.
Now, I understand that the desktop problem isn't the same as having the installer begin to run, then stop and eject the installer disk. My point is only that apps running in the background are apparently causing (now various) problems with the SL installer.
Glad to see that one more problem has been solved.

  • Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 Error after disk install

I have a windows 7 64 bit system, I purchased Elements both Photoshop and Premiere 11 disks.  After install without incident, Premiere works fine, but Photoshop gives me this message upon opening the program.  Adobe Photosp Elements 11 has stopped working.  A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.  It closes the program and no solution suggested.  I have waited twice on tech support phone, and once with online help, I have been disconnected on the phone support, and online could not help me.  This is a new product I have not been able to use.  The last time I purchased version 10 and it never worked.  Now I see right after buying version 11, 12 is now available and I still can't use Photoshop elements.   Can someone please help.  I have reviewed all the similar issues on the help site, none of the suggestions worked.

This did not answer my question or solve the problem.  As I stated in the original email,  I had tried all the solutions posted earlier.
I DO NOT even get to open the program, before the message, getting to the editor is not the problem, getting the program to open is the problem.  The error message comes while PSE 11 is loading, but not open.  Please send a solution !  Thank you, Rebecca Stone

  • Adobe CS doesn't launch after OSX clean install

My Mac had been having various small problems recently and it was becoming very slow. I decided to back-up all my work and perform a clean install of OSX 10.3.
The installation was successful, and I proceeded to install all my applications including Microsoft Office, Adobe CS1, Corel Painter, etc. and I also purchased Extensis Suitcase Fusion on-line.
Everything works fine and my Mac is noticeably faster, except for Adobe CS1. PhotoShop, Illustrator and InDesign will not launch. PhotoShop doesn't even get as far as the splash screen and quits without even an error message. Illustrator and InDesign also quit before they've fully launched, but with those apps I do get the message which pops up saying that the application has unexpectedly quit.
I've not loaded any fonts apart from the default system fonts which were installed with the OS. I've tried re-installing CS1. I've tried deleting the prefs for Adobe applications and also Suitcase Fusion. I've also tried repairing the disk permissions for my HD using Disk Utility. Finally I've run Disk Warrior on my HD, but none of these have helped.
If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. It looks like my only option is to re-install the Operating System again, but I'd like to avoid that if possible. Any advice appreciated!

  • Quicken 2006 error after Snow Leopard upgrade

After I upgraded to Snow Leopard, when downloading transactions into my Quicken 2006 I get an OL-249 error. I researched it and it pointed me toward installing Rosetta. I did that, rebooted, and still get the exact same error.
