Adobe Interactive PDF - Submit by mail directly without intermediate outlook window

Hello,
We are in a SAP 46c ECC6 upgrade, and we use Adobe interactive PDF for some ESS specific functionalities.
We use also outlook.
We have an interactive PDF with submit button (execute sendmail).
When we click on it, an outlook window appears, and fields are correctly filled with our information (to; object; attachement), but we still have to CLICK on the outlook send button.
Because the goal of this interactive PDF is partly to simplify the users actions, we want to avoid this last click step, and directly send the mail.
Do you have any idea ?
Thanks.

Can Adobe Interactive PDF consume a service that returns JSON? A few web sites seem to suggest it can:
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/coldfusion/8/htmldocs/help.html?content=functions_c-d_43.html
    http://blogs.adobe.com/acdc/2008/08/using_json_to_exchange_data_wi.html

Its probably better to post this in the Form or Designer forum as those ones deal more with the capabilities of XFA based PDFs.  The Generator forum deals with the server software that converts documents to PDF.
    Having said that.
You should be able to do it, but not directly. I don't believe that there is a way to map the JSON returned values to a field, as XFA pdf's generally support XML.  You may be able to put the returned JSON value into a single field and then write some code that would parse that value into the proper fields.

    - form is automatically filled from the context, without any user interaction
    - user can preview document
    - user send document via e-mail, not using mail button in pdf viewer, but programatically in webdynpro app.
    Tnx for the comments!

  • Can Adobe Interactive PDFs play sound from imported .swf files

    Hello.
I'm really really stuck, can anyone help? I'm on 10.8.3 using In Design CS6
I am trying to get an interactive PDF with imported .sfw files with sound to play ....the sound. Preview is fine in the working file - but as per the previous query on thishttp://forums.adobe.com/message/4772574 - The interactive PDF loses the sound. I tried installing ezPDF - but it's an app and I don't know how to install it to work (I think it's meant for  iPADs). So...does anyone know if I can have an imported .swf file play when exported to an Interactive PDF and also work on an end users PC?...should I be able to install ezPDF reader on my MAC and get everything working?
Any help would be good as this is day 3 having called Adobe on Day 1 which was fruitless.
    Thanks

Really hard to say without seeing the whole project, but my guess is that you have moved your exported SWF somewhere from it´s original location (where you exported it to) without moving Resources folder to same target location too... when you place video, audio or SWF to your layout, indesign does not embedd it to resulting SWF. Those files will be stored into a resources folder which always has to be at same root with exported SWF. Media files will be loaded dynamically from that folder at runtime.
So you can guess what happens if that folder does not exist....

  • Adobe Interactive Forms - Senden per mail

    Hallo,

    Hi,
Adobe Interactive form can be generated and sent it via email by using a normal Java class. But that Java class should run in a server which should contain Adobe DocumentService. This java class can be archived as a par file and deployed on Portal server or can be written as a Webservice and can be triggered by clicking on a URL.
    Hope this blog helps.

  • WebDynpro - Adobe interactive pdf attachments

I am creating an ABAP web dypro with a Adobe interactive form that also includes a workflow.  I am having an issue passing the attachments with the PDF source to the next workflow task. When I save the PDF source from the first web dynpro view and then re-load the pdf source conext with this data for the next view, the attachments are not with the PDF when it is opened.  Are the attachments stored with the PDF source in the context attribute? I have created a function that should list the attachments that I call before starting the workflow just to check but the attachments are not being returned, I am passing the pdf source context for the interactive form to the function module.

  • Interactive pdf submit individual forms

    Hi,
I'm currently building an interactive PDF manual for English as a Foreign Language  writing pedagogy in InDesgin CC. This manual contains a number of forms where students are prompted to perform various writing tasks and then send them to their tutor via email, using the "submit" function from the button menu in InDesign. Once exported to Acrobat, however, the whole PDF rather than just one individual form is sent. Is there any way to add a piece of code somehow, somewhere (I'm not a programmer!), to tell Acrobat to 'extract' and send data entered by users only from one form? I have a similar problem with compulsory fields on forms, that is Acrobat treats compulsory fields on all forms in the manual in their entirety and thus always displays an error message when only the compulsory fields on one individual form have been correctly completed.  In a nutshell I would like Acrobat to recognise and process individual forms. I've already looked on various forums for a solution, but so far it seems that this issue has not been raised by anyone. Your help would be much appreciated. I've been pulling my hair out over this glitch.
    Many thanks in advance.
    Marcus

I couldn't get the doc.submitForm to work (keeps attaching the entire PDF), so I went with the app.mailMsg command instead:
    app.mailMsg({
    bUI: true,
    cTo: "[email protected]",
    cSubject: "IWM Student Email",
cMsg: "Dear Teacher," + "\n" +"\n" + "One of your students has completed a form on the Interactive Writing Manual with the following data:" + "\n" + "\n" +
    "Student name: " + this.getField("Your name 1").value + "\n" +
    "Level: "  + this.getField("Combo Box 9").value + " " + "\n" +
    "Essay topic: " + this.getField("Combo Box 171").value + " " + "\n" + "\n" + this.getField("Writing 1").value + " ",
    Many thanks for your help!

  • Send PDF as E-Mail attachment w. Outlook

When I select attach to E-Mail from the file menu I expected Adobe Acrobat Pro to open a new e-mail (I'm using Outlook here) but it doesn't. How do I explain to Acrobat that I want to use Outlook to send E-Mails?

You need to set Outlook as your default email program.

  • How to read data fra adobe interactive pdf form into WDA context?

    Hi,
I have a pdf form which is pre filled with some data and then the user has the opportunity to add some data to the pdf form.
I want to retrieve this data into my context without having to add a button into the pdf form which will send back data to WDA. Currently i am using pdfSource but it is not updating the context.
If needed i can change to use dataSource/templateSource instead of pdfSource.
    Thanks

I don't think that link will help. The PDF Source isn't updating either on data entry into the form
The issue here is that the Adobe form does not update the SAP context until you tell it to do so. You really need to trigger an event in the form to cause that update, a button as previously mentioned is one amongst many ways of doing this.

  • Adobe Interactive Form "Submit To SAP"-Button

    Hello,
I have the following problem: I have implemented a IF solution with ABAP + BSP + Interactive Forms. We have a landscape with Test, Quality and Productive System. I have a "Submit to SAP"-button on my interactive form. The Url to which I want to send my Form back to my system, should be generated dynamically depended on Test, Quality or Productive system, so that I only have to design ONE form and not THREE forms (one for each system).
So what I do is the following:
I generate the PDF-object in ABAP with my XDP-File and my Data.xml. In my Data.xml I have integrated a special tag <urltosapsystem> where I generate my URL for the button, dependend on which system I am.
On the Interactive Form I want to parse the XML-file for my special tag <urltosapsystem> via JavaScript and assign the URL for the submit-button dynamically.
    So my question is:
How can I assign the URL for the submit-button dynamically via JavaScript:
    - On which object (on the whole form,on the button) and which event (onClick, OnPreSubmit,...) can I insert my JavaScript code
    - How does the JavaScript-Code has to look like
    Thanks for your help,
    Andreas

    Hello Andreas,
the "submit to sap" button is intended to be used in the WebDynpro environment. Hence, there is no way to specify a URL for that button. The submitting is handled by WebDynpro.

You can certainly open the first OMF which will load into a session and as I recall you can then 'import' another OMF but that will only add the embedded audio files into the list of media files in the "Files" panel.
I haven't tried it but you could probably continue doing that with each of the other OMFs but if the media is AIF (and it is a good chance) then there probably won't be any BWF data to place the audio correctly on the timeline.
If you try to do the same in PT (and I'm no PT expert) PT will ask you to save the existing session and open the selected OMF - I could be wrong but not sure how that will happen in PT
I see the simplest solution as creating a 'reference' (ie not an embedded) OMF - then you can just send the OMF plus the media to whoever you need to without a 2gb restriction
Failing that you could (and I haven't tried this for a long time) you could import the OMFs into separate sesx sessions and then use AATranslator to append them into a single session - a bit of mucking around but achievable
My advice is to go with the reference OMF

  • Adobe interactive form-submit button is not working

    hai guys,
i am following the example in sap technical.
i have created the adobe form in webdynpro for abap applaiction.
but the submit button doesnt work .(it doesnt trigger the break point set in on action method)..
    reading other threads,i verify,
the button is dragged from webdynpro library(i dont ahve native and activex libbraries but only one library)
    i am on
    sap ecc 6.0
    netweaver 7.0
    adobe life cycle designer 7.0
    acrobat 8.11
    any suggestions?

    Hi Kumar,
When you create the Adobe Form from WebDynpro, you need to follow one step in SFP Transaction or inSE80 transaction. Open the Adobe Form in any one the transaction and now in SAP menu bar "Utilities" in that you will find the "INSERT THE WEBDYNPRO SCRIPT" just click on that one. Then you will see a new Script Object is being created with the name "ContainerFoundation_JS" under the "Variables" in the Heirarchy of the Object Pallete of the Adobe Form.
This step is mandatory to use the SUBMIT Button of the "WebDynpro Native", to trigger the OnSubmit event of the WebDynpro.

  • How to create Interactive PDF with multiple .mp4 videos– without lagging on playback?

I'm creating a long document with no real effects-- just a "fade" transition from page to page-- and multiple videos. These videos are all formatted as .mp4s, and I have had no issues with the actual process of getting them embedded and playing back on export.
My real issue is that the videos are all extremely laggy on playback. Since this is a presentation document, I'd like to know if there are any options for making the playback a bit smoother. Each video, by itself, plays with no issues. Would the combined filesize of all the videos be causing this? There are about eight 30-second videos and one 2-minute video, which makes the filesize quite large.
Filesize is not an issue, so is there some way to completely embed the videos or create an external folder the PDF document can draw the videos from on playback...? Hopefully I won't be stuck with laggy videos.

My suspicion is that computer setup has more to do it than anything. How much RAM, whether other apps are loaded, what kind of graphics chip, stuff like that.
I don't know of a setting, though you can look at the Flash Player settings in Acrobat. There is certainly nothing in InDesign that would affect it.

  • PDF attachments from Mail not arriving in Outlook on PC

Using 10.6.7, with Font Update, sending with Mail, via Exchange Server 2007.
When attaching PDFs to emails, the attachments aren't being delivered properly in Outlook 2010 on a PC, using same Exchange Server. They are coming through in Outllook for Mac 2011 ok.
You can see the paper clip icon in Outlook 2010, but not attachment is seen in the email when opened. Word, Excel & JPGS etc are coming through ok.
Obvioulsy compressing the PDF works ok, but would like to know the reason for this issue.
    Any help, gratefully received.
    Thanks
    Neil

In case anyone has similar issues, I've found the cause.
Basically... It's to do with the way Mail encodes attachments as "inline" If you have version2 Rollup3 of Exchange2007, which uses MAPI to send the email to Outlook, which can't render the attachment as it wasn't created the way Outlook expects it to have been.......!

  • Sending Interactive PDF through mail - as INLINE item

    Hi All,
I have a requirement, wherein I have to send an Interactive PDF form through mail, as INLINE (i.e. displayed in the body of the message item),and not as ATTACHMENT.
i.e. The Interactive PDF content should be seen in the body page of the mail itself.
I have to send the PDF from a java application. I was able to do it with an image(as INLINE) using the HTML tag <img>.
For PDF, I tried using the HTML tags <iframe> and <embed>. i even tried javascript embeded within HTML code. But no use.
IMPORTANT : Please note that, it is an Interactive PDF form, there will be editable Input fields in the PDF file.
Any one please help me to solve this....
    Thanks,
    Prabhakar.

You can set the main content of your message to be the PDF content with MIME
type application/pdf, but I doubt that you can convince most mailers to display this
content as you intend. As far as I know, this is not a commonly supported feature.
If you can use some other program to create a message that displays the way you
want, you can copy the structure of that message with your JavaMail program.
