Adobe Photoshop CC Text Tool Not Working

So, this issue just started today.  Whenever I try to type something in, let's say, 60 pt, the text comes out too small to read.  At the highest pt number the text is probably this big at most.  Help?

What is your document resolution in ppi?

  • Adobe XI - Hightlight text tool not working

Just downloaded adobe XI and the hightlight text tool not working.  How can I get this to work.

I guess you can always use the box tool in drawing markups to draw a box around the text then play with the colors until you get close to what you want.
The only thing I don't like about that (besides it being a PITA) is that it covers the text with color as well where the highlight tool does not.

  • Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 does not work with Yosemite 10.10

My Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 does not work with Yosemite 10.10 nor does my Premier Elements 12. When I try to start them up I get the error message. After uninstalling and reinstalling a few times its still the same. Strangely enough PSE 11 seem to work with Yosemite.  I uninstalled my Premier Elements as well and it behave the same way. How do I get a new copy of Premier Elements 12 to reinstall?

Just to further test what is happening to my iMac on Yosemite is I downloaded the trial version of Photoshop CC and when I go to launch it it gives mr the same error message as when I try to launch PES 12 or Premier Elements 12. So whatever the problem is it involves all three and so upgrading to Photoshop CC doesn't even help.  Could there be an Adobe file damaged or missing somewhere that is common to these and yet does not effect Revel and Lightroom?

  • TouchUp Text Tool not working?

I have Max OS X 10.4, Acrobat 8.1.2 and cannot get the TouchUp Text Tool to work? Can select text and delete/copy/paste etc but cannot add/change/modify any text from the keyboard? All keyboard text keys not working or changing data?
Was using Acrobat 7 and it worked great, however this version is just not cooperating.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...
    Thanks,
    Ron

I talked to a very helpful person at Adobe Acrobat Tech support yesterday (Tony) and I *think* I have the problem resolved. [BTW, I don't see any definite mentions to this here: during this problem I was able to delete (using either of the delete keys) text and I was able to hit 'return' to get to a new line - while using the touch-up text tool. Also, I was able to create a new blank document and type in next fine too.]
After troubleshooting all the possible causes with Tech support (including manually trashing all the /user/library/preferences/acrobat (folder) and all the com.adobe.acrobat ..(8) preferences in the /user/library/preferences folder - and after reinstalling Acrobat 8 - the issue still wasn't fixed. I called back Tech Support and got the same person (Tony) and with him still on phone, I created a new user on my Mac -- recreated the text touch-up tool problem and Acrobat 8 worked just like it was supposed to do. -- so ... the problem was in my 'old' user account & probably a font problem.
Tony the Tech transfered me over to a Font Tech at Adobe (who was a rude, nasty s-o-b who barely spent 2 minutes with the problem, but that's IMHO) who told me the only resolution, since in his opinion I had a corrupted User account, was to trash my current User account on my system and start fresh -- no alternative! Since that wasn't acceptable to me, and since the Font Tech could or would not give me a straight answer about transferring fonts from my User/Library/Fonts to the computer (root, not system) /Library/Fonts and working on Acrobat that way .... or fixing any font problems in my current /user/fonts -- ..... I hung up the phone and resolved to track this down myself (with the help that was already given to me by Tony the Acrobat Tech.
The first thing I tried this morning was to see if the Acrobat 8 text touch-up 'bug' was still happening -- and it was.
So I spent the rest of this morning validating fonts and deleting duplicates -- (you know how those nasty duplicate fonts just appear even though you think you have them all removed a month or so ago). I also moved all my Adobe otf fonts over to my /Library/Fonts and deleted those same fonts from my /User/Library/Fonts.
I just fired up Acrobat 8 and tried the text touch-up tool --- and it works fine! No problem at all.
Final answer (at least for me) is --> validate all your fonts. I used Font Book (Mac OS) to do this. Delete any major errors on fonts you can live without. Some of the warnings you get (on the critical errors and caution warning both are confusing: 'name' table warning, for example. I did find an Apple Developer document that explains (to a small degree) what these mean: http://developer.apple.com/textfonts/TTRefMan/index.html
Definitely delete every duplicate font you find. I kept some non-duplicated fonts with minor warnings, but these fonts wouldn't be used in Acrobat anyway.
I don't know if moving the Adobe otf fonts to my root /Library/Fonts helped or not since I didn't do a test of this prior to any validation on my user/font file. It was just one step in my bug fix.
Let me know if this works for you all too.

  • Text tool not working in photoshop (and illustrator)

The text tool is not working in my CS5.5 photoshop (nor illustrator).    Box appears, can't see the type while typing.   Layer descriptor shows the text but the text does not show in the workspace.   Read several forum comments.   Deleted preferences, reset character and paragraph pallets.   Font size is adequate, have tried several different colors.     PLEASE HELP.

Hi Mylenium -  I appreciate your response and would be happy to answer any specifics that you would need.   Since I obviously do not have your technical skill, please forgive my lack of knowledge related to information you may need.   I will try to answer here, but if you need additional information, please simply ask so that I can give you enough 'sensible' information.
System specs: Dell Alienware Quad Processor with max RAM (I process digital videos.)  Windows 7 Operating System, Adobe Creative Suite 5.5
    Language:  English
Preferences:  All were deleted per recommendation of Adobe Community Thread
Character & Paragraph Pallets:   Both were re-set to Adobe defaults per Adobe Community Thread
Font:   Calibri Regular, 14 point with 18 point row height.   AV horizontal and vertical are both 0.  Text horizontal and vertical scale are both 100%.  Baseline shift is 0.  Text color is black (on transparent)
I have tried numerous fonts, font sizes and font colors.   Nothing shows up, but I know the text is there because of the layer label name.
Can you help?   If not, how to I reach Adobe technical support?

  • Text tool not working in photoshop cs4

I'm on a Macbook Pro running snow leopard, and for some reason, the text tool won't let me change the color of a text to anything outside of greyscale. For example, I select the text, click on the 'change color' box, select red, and press OK. But the box does not indicate red, but gray instead. If it means anything, my MBP also has the 9600 discrete GPU, and have tried switching it to use that as opposed to the 9400, but it didn't help.

Starting with the basic, I assume your document is in RGB or CMYK, and not Grayscale?

  • Text tool not working in photoshop CC, all I can see are small boxes event with giant font

    Hi there,
I am not sure what is going on here.  I cannot get the Text to show up using the Text tool.  All I can see are tiny boxes even made the font 60 points.  SHould be huge.  Been happening for more than a week and I ran an update via the cloud just last night.  Did not fix it yet.  Ideas?

I find Points are not the most predictable unit to use for text, and p[refer a linear size like inches or mm.  Have a look at your image size.  If it has a very high pixel size, together with a low dpi (72) then that would give you what you are seeing.   If your image size is 4 inches by 8 inches, then regardless of what the dpi is, if you used inches instead of points for text sizing, then you would know to expect 2 inch text to be one quarter the hieght of your document.
    Does that make sense?

  • My function /automation tool/ in adobe photoshop 10 (new) does not work. how to fix the problem

Hi my operating system is Windows 7. Installing Adobe Photoshop Elements 10

  • Text tool not working in CC Ai, Ps, and Il.

    I am having a problem in all 3 of my adobe CC programs. Indesign and Illustrator have the exact same issue; I can draw a text box, but when I type, no text appears. In Photoshop, I can not draw the box. A window appears with the following;
The only changes to these programs I can think, is I updated Indesign yesterday and also downloaded Premier Pro. They were all working before I made this update. Whether this is the cause, or simply coincidence is unclear.
I have tried contact the Adobe Support and spoke to a "Snigdha". They were no help, demanding I pay my Adobe bill before they resolve the issue. My graduation night is in 5 days and I can't print, edit, or produce anymore examples of my work. This night is my chance to find a job, and is incredibly important to me. It has been 1 year of work, study, and money. If I can't get my programs working again, I'm quite frankly done for.
My bill is only 2 days late, and I can afford to pay it. But I refuse to pay for a product that will not work. That is a blatant violation of Consumer rights, when Adobe knows my programs are faulty. All I'm after is basic customer support, and all I have received is an incompetent "Snigdha" who refuses to help me until I pay up. This is so disgusting, I thought Adobe were a bit more friendly than this, but I suppose they are more interested in money than their customers like most mega corporations.
If anyone could point me to a tutorial, video, or anything that might help me resolve the text issue I would be eternally grateful, I need these programs ASAP.
    Thankyou in advance.
UPDATE: The chat representative closed the conversation, without resolving my issue, answering my question, or even saying goodbye in any way. Disgusting.

You have a "bad" font. It's as simple as that. Weed out any unnecessary fonts from your system and only add them back when needed.

  • Photoshop CS5 Move Tool Not Working?

Please help. I am using Photoshop CS5 and my Move tool is not working. I just don't know what to do. I am making photobooks with a software plug-in, "Album DS", and for the last couple of months everything worked perfectly. Then, all of sudden, when I load up photos onto an album page, with the Move tool, I no longer get the crop markings around the photos to enlarge, decrease, or even move the photos. I have tried using the Move tool without the software and it still does not work.

I just figured this out 5 minutes ago, by mistake I might add.  How in the world did you know this? Thanks.

  • Photoshop CC (2015) tools not working

I updated my CC apps yesterday and today tools in Photoshop are not working.  Clone stamp and healing brush allow you to sample but effects are not applied.  When trying to use the quick selection tool the selection s cleared after a few seconds.

I'd say things sound desperate enough to try resetting Preferences
    Reset Preferences
Windows — Hold down Shift Ctrl Alt immediately after starting Photoshop
Mac — Hold down Shift Cmd Opt immediately after starting Photoshop
If that fails, we need to know your operating system?
Do you have a full CC subscription, or by apps do you mean Photoshop, Bridge and Lightroom?
Another other information that might pertain ?

  • Adobe photoshop 5.5 does not work with Yosemite

When I upgraded my Mac to Yosemite, Adobe photoshop ceased to work. Is there any way of fixing this problem?

Yosemite is known to break CS5 installs, so there are two ways to fix this:
Install this Java for OS X 2014-001
    If that fails, reinstall CS5.5

  • Adobe Acrobat X Version 10.1.0 Edit Document Text tool not working

    Hi Adobe People
I am suing Adobe Acrobat X Version 10.1.0. I have a document open and I would like to delete a sentence.
So I click on tools and navigate to Edit Document Text.
I highlight the sentence I would like to delete. I press delete and nothing happens. I go to the tool bar at the top and click on edit and the only option it will give me is to copy.
What am I not getting here. I have no idea what is the problem and I am unsure how to solve it.
FYI I want to edit the content in the PDF because I do not have the original source file.
    Thanks

    I'm stumped.
I found the original source file. It is a word file. I edited one page in word.
Then I opened the original file and I clicked on Tools, navigated to Pages and clicked on Insert from File.
    I got the following message
"This document restricts some Acrobat features to allow for extended features in Adobe Reader. To create a copy of the document that is not restricted (and has no extended features in Adobe Reader), Click Save a Copy.
    So I do just that.
I try to do the same thing with a saved copy of the document and now it won't give me the option to Insert from File.
I neet to insert a page becuse this is a long document with many text boxes. It was originally created in word. Then converted to a PDF. I do not want to recreate all of these text boxes.
    Ugh...
    Anyone?....
