Adobe Profession CS -6

Since I install CS-6 on my computers; I 've notice my Adobe Professor does not work and I cannot open the program; nor create any pdf files.  I uninstall and re installed. Any suggestion?
Thanks

What program exactly?  What operating system?
What exactly means "cannot" and "does not work"?

  • Digital Signatures and Certificates

    I use Adobe Profession 8,
I installed a certifcate on my computer (certnew.cer) which has my informations and stuff on it.. ok so far. We have our own certificate server.
When i try to apply a signature on a pdf i created, my name is not on the list (Adobe). The only options i have is to create one or import one (.pfx, .p12). I dont mind importing one but it cant import .cer files.
Testing on another computer, after installing his certificate, his name was shown on the list in adobe.
Is there something that I can be doing wrong?
Is there are way to import a .cer file instead of a .pfx, .p12?
Is there an easy method of converting a .cer to .pfx (.p12) apart from using Windows Drivers Kit?

A cer file doesn't have a private key. It contains a public key and other certificate data. Signing requires a digital ID which includes both the cert/public key and the private key, and these are usually stored in pfx/p12 files.
Self-signed digital IDs are inherently less secure, but they can be made more secure if the recipient verifies the cert "thumbprints" that the signer shares ahead of time. . .
Comprehensive digital signature instructions exist in this doc:

  • Why does "only" my Adobe flash profession CS6 can't export avi. file?

Why does Adobe flash profession CS6 can't export avi. file?
but when I watch Youtube video, there are avi file format option in CS6!!!!!!!
    Can anybody help me?
    WHY?????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Flash uses the Adobe Media Converter to create the video output. If you select the "Use Media Converter" option after selecting to output to Quicktime, and, if your computer has the AVI codec installed, you should be able to export to an AVI file.

  • After effects CS6 and premiere pro and adobe encoder crash when previewing profess 422 files, after upgrading to Mavericks

I have tried all of the fixes and updates that adobe have to offer. They say that this is because of the change in QuickTIme that are causing the problem. Still looking for a fix. Please any help would be greatfully appreciated.

I experienced this at one point.  Searching the WEB I saw suggestions that there was a problem with a recent version of Quicktime.  (I have no idea why the quicktime player would have an impact.)  However, reverting to an earlier version of Quicktime fixed the problem.  Search this board using quicktime as a search phase.  The quicktime web site allows you to download the earlier versions.  I'm not at my editing machine, but I believe that I am at version 7.5.2.

  • How can I prepopulate a portion of a fillable form in Adobe Acrobat Profession XI from an excel spreadsheet?

I have created a fillable form, and would like to prepopulate two fields from data in an excel spreadsheet.  Any ideas?

You need to use JavaScript to import text data in a file setup using the tab delimiter and the column heading with the field name. You may need to select the row to import because one can only import 1 row of data.
    importTextData
Has an example to import the first row. You can change the row number to see what happens.

  • Report does not display correctly when exported to adobe

    Post Author: mgisonda
    CA Forum: Crystal Reports
Hopefully someone can help me. I am currently running Crystal Reports profession version 10. I have applied service pack 1 and recently service pack 6. I am having a problem with the display of a report within adobe. My report is a bit complex. It is a 8.5x11 one page landscape report. It is set up in a grid format with multiple lines and boxes drawn on it. Here is the report information: Report Definition----
Number of Database Fields:   144     Number of On-Demand Formulas:   40     UFLs in use:   None     Page N of M Used:   No     File Format Schema:   10.2.0    I created the report using CR developer. I use the report within a web project. The user requests the report and it returns to the user, an adobe file of the report. However, this is where I am having trouble. On my local development machine, the report displays fine. In CR developer, the report displays fine. When I export the report to Adobe from the CR Developer, it exports fine. BUT when I run the report from my web site, the adobe file that is returned is broken up over 42 pages. What seems to be actually happening is the return adobe file seems to think that the page size is 2in X 4in.. Where it got that, I don't know. The server running IIS is a windows server 2003. It has adobe 8.0 reader on it. I also have Crystal 10 Server Distribution loaded on it. And I have loaded CR10 Service pack 6 on that as well. Below is the web code that is used to display the report:Imports CrystalDecisions.Shared'Imports CrystalDecisions.CrystalReportsImports CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.EngineImports CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportClassPublic Class PrintInspectionLayout    Inherits System.Web.UI.Page   Private Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load        Dim mNotInSpringDesign As String        Dim mPartType As String        mNotInSpringDesign = Request.QueryString("NotInSpringDesign")        If mNotInSpringDesign = "TRUE" Then            mStockCode = Request.QueryString("StockCode")            lblNotInSpringDesign.Text = "Stock Code #: " & mStockCode & " does not exist in Spring Design."            lblNotInSpringDesign.Visible = True            Response.Write("<br><br><br><br><br><font color='blue'><center><a href='SpringDesignWildCardSearch.aspx'>Go To Search Page</a></center></font>")        Else            mStockCode = Request.QueryString("StockCode")            Dim pList As ParameterValues = New ParameterValues            Dim paramName, paramValue As String            Dim pV As ParameterDiscreteValue = New ParameterDiscreteValue            Dim Report As ReportDocument= New ReportDocument            Dim expOpts As ExportOptions = New ExportOptions            Dim pdfRtfWordFormatOpts As PdfRtfWordFormatOptions = expOpts.CreatePdfRtfWordFormatOptions            Dim expFormatOpts As ExportFormatOptions = expOpts.ExportFormatOptions            expOpts.ExportFormatType = ExportFormatType.PortableDocFormat            mPartType = Request.QueryString("PartType")            'SELECT THE INSPECTION LAYOUT TYPE TO PRINT            Select Case mPartType                Case Is = "C"                    Report.Load(MapPath("./Reports/CompressionLayout.rpt"))                    'Report.Load(MapPath("./Reports/PCAR.rpt"))                Case Is = "E"                    Report.Load(MapPath("./Reports/ExtensionLayout.rpt"))                Case Is = "T"                    Report.Load(MapPath("./Reports/TorsionLayout.rpt"))                Case Is = "W"                    Report.Load(MapPath("./Reports/WasherLayout.rpt"))                Case Is = "F"                    Report.Load(MapPath("./Reports/FreeFormLayout.rpt"))                Case Else            End Select            pV.Value = mStockCode            pList.Add(pV)            Report.DataDefinition.ParameterFields("StockCode").ApplyCurrentValues(pList)            Response.ClearContent()            Response.ClearHeaders()            Response.ContentType = "Application/pdf"            Report.ExportToHttpResponse(expOpts, Response, False, "")            Report.Close()        End If    End Sub    Any ideas as to the solution? Hi Paul
You're more likely to get an answer to this if you post in the UNIX forum.
By the looks of it, you may have a problem with your fonts.

  • Adobe 7 is not compatible with Vista, If you are not satisfied with that answer...

Unfortunately for what I do for a living I can't use a mac, cannot WAIT till they do become compatible or I just switch professions!
I have adobe 7Pro because I MUST create PDF documents for my business, however when my laptop crashed for the 3rd time in less than a year and I was NOT about to pay HP $400 to reboot it, instead I had fun and smashed it (like in Office Space) and went out and bought a new Sony Vaio.  This laptop is nice and all however now ALL new computers come with Gates newest form of a rip off, VISTA, which had so many issues they release a new update for it every day and professional companies wouldn't touch it, so they FORCED it on us small business owners and personal computer users, such CRAP! (If you notice all large corporations use XP, there is no Vista for large corps, there's a reason for that...
The people that do NOT have the $ to keep upgrading and paying for FIX ITS online from some unknown who has figured a work around are forced to use this crap!!!  I'm BEYOND anoyed... ANYWHO I am installing my adobe 7pro and every time I open it I get asked to "ACTIVATE AGAIN" so I call in to get a NEW Activation code and a minute later it does it AGAIN... SOOO, I get Tech support and the IDIOT in India literally READS to me the following statements:
"Adobe 7 is not compatible with Vista"
I tell him, that's a lie because my friend uses it on vista.
He proceeds to READ to me "If you are not satisfied with that answer, then acrobat no longer supports Adobe 7". WTF?!?!? If I am not SATISFIED with that answer!??! aparantly he was NOT supposed to read THAT part!!! Laughing I proceed to tell him to piss off and hang up on him because I am SOOO tired of all these damn AMERICAN companies outsourcing their customer service to some 3rd world country where they pay these people $5 a week and have them just read from a ******* script for your problems, that is NOT technical support, that's BULL CRAP!  I know 4 yr olds that read english better!!!
I am sick and tired of it... I might just take advantage of the 14 day return policy and go to Apple and buy a mac next week and change my profession sooner than I had planned JUST TO AVOID USING THIS CRAP!!! ADOBE YOU SUCK!!! Microsoft SUCKS!!!
If you run into this problem do what I am doing, go to Apple and buy a mac, we need to stand up against all this and pay attention to the COMMERCIALS that are VERY TRUE and drop Microsoft, IBM, anything Gates related and stop using their products!!!

    Thanks Mike!
I'm just so frustrated, its bad enough my other laptop wasn't even 2 yrs old
yet and I've spent $800 to have it fixed twice already, this 3rd time I was
DONE... so I moved onto Sony, but this Vista just is making my life a living
hell, I just spent a fortune on the laptop, and now I have to buy Adobe 9
when my adobe 7 isn't even 2 yrs old... ugh... its just very frustrating and
nerve racking and is costing more than I make in a week in this business
(real estate processing)... I should sell Microsoft for a living, I'd be a
    millionaire!
My husband's Mac has been through hell and back physically, is 5 yrs old and
we've never had to take it in for any upgrades or issues, its SO easy to
use... why can't Microsoft be the same?!?!
Thanks for your input and for being understanding of my frustration, I bet
    you see those often! LOL

  • Adobe 9 Black on White Document Scans to PDF Invert Black to White and vice versa! Not Good!

I have the same problem as TexasLawyer (Jul 30 2009) whose question was not answered nor was there any answer to a commenter who said he has the same problem ("I have an old HP LaserJet 3330 multifunction printer, and prefer scanning documents out of Adobe Acrobat rather than the software that came with the scanner.  However, after upgrading to Acrobat 9 Professional, the scans result in negative images.  I tried using the option in Acrobat to create negative images, hoping that that would result in a positive, but it didn't work. I'm using Windows XP, also.")
Me too. Except I am running XP as a virtual machine in a MAC (Snow Leopard). I "upgraded" to Acrobat 9 from a functioning Acrobat  6 (worked fine with my setup to make correct B&W pdf's from scanned B&W documents on the HP 3330 before I installed Adobe 9--I got updates immediately and am at version 9.1.3) butthe  Acrobat 9.1.3 scans on the HP 3300 invert white to black and black to white. The printer option box to invert black and white images was unchecked.  I checked it and ran the scan again but same result--white of paper document is black in pdf and black is white in pdf. I can scan the B on W document using grayscale and get B on W but the file is too large and unacceptable due to smudges picked up with gray scale.
Can't understand how so basic a use of Adobe is this messed up.This has to be a common problem since many many users scan black on white documents to pdf. Does anyone have a solution to this? It is critical in my profession.
Thanks in advance to you problem solvers out there that can solve this for me and hte others in my boat who search these forums looking for the answer to this issue.

I have an HP6010 scanner (sheet feed) that is used to scan multiple page documents. If I use the WIA scanner option I cannot select page size and the scanner defaults to legal size. On the other hand if I use the Twain driver I get negative images on my scans. I just installed Acrobat X Pro and the same thing is happening. I was using Acrobat 9. In fact in duplex mode the scanner outputs a negative image every other page, and a standard image on the alternate pages. Either way I am frustrated. I can't remember when the problem began, but I believe I was running XP SP2 and Acrobat 7 or 8.
Ironically, if I push the scan to PDF button on the scanner, which uses an HP utility, it comes out fine. All pages are in positive mode.
I did try scanning in color even though the document is black and white. I believe that the scan was fine. No negative images, but scanning in color is like watching the sun go down.
I thought it was Vista and System 7, then I was told that it had to be a scanner issue and that I needed to talk to HP. However, if the scanner functions properly on its own, with the HP utilities, then it has to be Acrobat.

  • Why is Adobe Air crashing Dofus on Windows 7 64-bit

Hello!  I play an MMORPG called Dofus, which runs on Adobe Air.
I've been having this problem with Dofus since I started playing again a few weeks ago.  My Dofus client and/or Adobe Air will crash, causing the error popup "DofusMod.exe has stopped responding".  This happens many times a day, but it is not predictable.  Sometimes I will go hours without a crash.  Other times it crashes and re-load and re-login, and it immediately crashes again.  I've tried everything that I can think of or find online, but there isn't much to go on.  When you try to search for this problem all you find is stuff for MAC.
    Systems Specs:
    Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit
    12GB of RAM
    Intel Core i5 CPU
NVidia GeForce GTS 450 Graphics card
    Dual Monitors
    Adobe Air 3.7
Not sure what else you all might want to know about system specs.
Here is the data that gets logged into Event Viewer when this crash happens:
Faulting application name: DofusMod.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4f9aad90
Faulting module name: Adobe AIR.dll, version: 3.4.0.2540, time stamp: 0x502c2269
    Exception code: 0xc0000005
    Fault offset: 0x004de65b
    Faulting process id: 0x183c
    Faulting application start time: 0x01ce5fa61afa53e0
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Dofus2\app\DofusMod.exe
    Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Dofus2\app\.runtime\3.4\Versions\1.0\Adobe AIR.dll
    Report Id: a8864c9f-cb9a-11e2-b1e5-7071bc949f54
Things I have tried that do not fix my problem:
    - Cleared Cache- Launching DofusMod.exe directly
    - Running DofusMod.exe in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3- Running DofusMod.exe as administrator
    - Running the Launcher as administrator
    - Installing different versions of Adobe Air
    - Changing the AdobeAir.dll file located in the Dofus directory
    - Closing every thing on my computer that I could possible close and still play the game
    - Google. As I said, everything I can find is for a MAC, and is quite dated at that.
I play with 4 accounts, but this has happened with just one account open plenty of times.  What, if anything, can I do to resolve this?  It's not too bad when all I'm doing is leveling professions, but when I'm fighting mobs and one or two of my accounts just crashes randomly, it quickly becomes a major frustration.
This has never happened to me in the past so I don't know what could be causing it now.  I'm tempted, but shouldn't be bothered, to setup a virtual machine running Ubuntu or something, specifically to play Dofus on.  Please, if anyone can help me fix this it would be absolutely amazing.
    Thanks!
    **edit**
I've also started a topic on this problem at the Dofus "Problems and Solutions" forum.  You can follow it here:  http://forum.dofus.com/en/4-problems-solutions/253374-dofusmod-exe-stopped-responding

Oh, and if by chance you, too, run Windows 64 Bit and Flash CS4, I would appreciate if you could share any thing you did to your system or installation to make it work better.
Please don't just say, "Well, it works for me, blah blah blah."
    Thanks.

  • Adobe CC apps nightmare, hideous interfaces

    Hi,
I have just bought into the whole Adobe CC apps things after years of working with CS4, 5 and 5.5 and remaining compatible with most of my clients, few are taking the leap to CC right now. And when I report on what my last week has been like with Adobe CC installation... they likely won't for quite some time.
First, upon installing CC, Dreamweaver requested I install Java 6 during installation. Since the request came from an Adobe app, I figured it was required, I did it.
    Dreamweaver didn't launch.
Uninstalled it. Reinstalled it. Still didn't launch. Tried to chat online, used the callback option. Surprisingly, it called me back and said someone would be with me just 40 minutes after I called. I then proceeded to wait on the phone for 56 minutes, no one came. Luckily I was able to continue working. Tried the chat thing again, waited, no answer. Tried the call thing the next day. Got the callback, someone finally came on.
However, all they were able to do was read through a manual and attempt to help - this is not what your support lines are for Adobe. Anyone can read an online help resource, these people are supposedly paid to be profess... oh, wait, they're in India. I get it. They're not paid professionals. They're just glorified phone jockies. Yeah, was readily apparent with the person I talked to.
So I muddled through and figured out that somehow, in the confusion of Dreamweaver not being able to install itself, uninstalling the whole shebang, manually installing Java from their web site - v7 only - and then reinstalling, the Java 6 update got wiped. Searched for it, installed it, DW worked right away.
However, I continue to be extremely disappointed in the interface, and completely amazed that the Properties panel in Dreamweaver is still ridiculously underwhelming.
Case in point, the URL field.
Why has this field remained limited to just 30 characters when the Property panel extends the full width of the screen and is completely empty from the walfway mark over to the far right?
Can't remember the last time I had such a simple URL it even fit in there, mostly dealing with enewsletters with externally-hosted content... need hard URLs that are lengthy, this limitation adds too much time to my work and is annoying beyond belief.
In addition, all CC apps now leave a hideous solid background that covers all other apps, and the Finder, this to me is reverting back to 1998 standards, not Mac OS X standards at all.
Are the recent Adobe CC apps all Windoze ports? The dialogue boxes look hideous, the progress bars, etc, etc. all hideous, nothing like the slick CS4 look that was a major improvement over previous versions.
And in any dialogue box you have to tab through every single option in the dialogue box... what?
That's just inexcusable, it's as if they have provided us with beta versions that haven't been skinned properly yet, we're looking at all the ugly underbelly. And it sucks. I hate my days now. I used to love working with Adobe apps, I converted a dozen or more clients away from Quark XPress in the last 4-5 years... they're going to kill me when [if] they upgrade to CC. I'm going to tell them not to - not until Adobe fixes all of the issues that still exist.
Not that I expect Adobe to respond, but you can bet your *** I sent them a bug report, because right now, all of their apps are very buggy in my eyes... I have a list of over 100 items from CS5 that do not appear to have been addressed with the latest releases... so lots of bug reports to file.
So, Adobe... you have my money... put it to good use, fix your apps immediately. If there is a general mailbox I can send this lengthy bug report on all Adobe apps to please let me know, I don't have time to submit each individually via your feedback forms, you're not paying me, and clearly you're not paying professional support staff either.
Have used Illustrator since Illustrator 88, PhotoShop since v1.0, and InDesign since v3.0 - I don't think *anyone* used 1 and 2 ;-).
The current apps appear to have digressed back about a dozen years in terms of look and feel, very disappointing.
    Thanks.

  • Adobe PDF 8.0 fails and so does updater in CS3

I'm just about out of ideas as to how to get CS3 to work correctly. Briefly, this is the story:
    1. CS3 worked originally when I bought last year on a Mac Pro
    2. In the last couple of months, the updater gave me a message that "The installation process encountered a problem...." CS3 still worked but I then noticed that the PDFmaker in Word or the Adobe PDF 8.0 print driver would not work: job would just queue and then disappear with no error message.
    3. I figured something must be corrupted so today I ran the uninstaller for Acrobat and then the uninstaller for CS3. I then run the original CS3 installer disk and the program installed ok.
    4. I then ran the updater and got the same message. The following components could not update:
Photoshop 10.0.1, Camera Raw 4.4.1 U, AIR update....S3 profess, Bridge CS3 2.1.1 Update, Start Meeting 10.1, Flash lite 3 Update for Device.., Asset Services 3.1.0 update, Illustrator CS3 13.0.1 update.
    5. I still have the problem with the Adobe PDF 8.0 print driver not working (or PDFmaker).
    6. Curiously, CS3 didn't ask me for my serial no. when I reinstalled so there must be a hidden file or files that did not get uninstalled.
    7. Finally, IS THERE SOME WAY TO GET THIS TO WORK SHORT OF BUYING A NEW MAC or wiping the hard disk?
    8. Running current version of OS 10.5.3
Thanks, I'm really not sure how to fix this and apparently one needs to pay for phone tech support?

I was able to fix the Adobe PDF 8.0 printer driver by running the updater and ONLY updating acrobat to v8.1.2. Apparently, the updater wasn't working for this if I just ran the auto-update.
Other problem with updater failing is not fixed and others have reported previously. I deleted everything containing "Adobe" in the name (except fonts) in the libraries after uninstalling CS3. I will only run the updater when I need a specific update in the future since the "update all" option is not reliable.
Updater is rather disappointing since I have not had this kind of trouble with an Adobe product in the past.
