Adobe professional licence:  electronic forms

All,
I hope you can help me, because I've "hit a brick wall" with my problem.   Our customers want to send pdf documents to people in their organization, via our system, who can then complete and sign them electronically.  Is there a special type of licence that we could purchase for adobe professional, which would allow us to distribute this capability to our customers, without each of them having to purchase an Adobe licence?
Regards

Hi, do you mean like this sort of thing?

If you wish, it's possible to electronically sign the documents as well using Adobe eSignatures.

  • Using Adobe Professional with NIH grant forms

Has anyone discovered a way to work with Mac OS 10.6.8, Adobe Pro 10 and the electronic forms one must use in order to prepare NIH grant proposals?  The forms will no longer open and I understand from NIH that this is because of the conflict between the Mac OS and the Adobe version use to create the application forms.

I think I made a mistake and upgraded to 10.1.1, as I'm still unable to open the Fed forms.  Even tho I have the most recent version, I get the message:
To view the full contents of this document, you need a later version of the PDF viewer. You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader from www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
For further support, go to www.adobe.com/support/products/acrreader.html
Is it possible to "downgrade" to v. 10.1?
    Thanks.

  • Saving a PDF form with Adobe Professional

I have Adobe professional with LiveCycle. I want to create a simple form that I sent to people. They fill it out and send it back. But the forms I create don't allow me to save changes when I open them in a Reader. This is so basic! I have no idea what I am doing wrong. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Michael

    Hello
When you work with live cycle designer you create your form and you save it. Then, when you want to send it to people you use the assistant with create 2 other different files :
    1) A publication form that you will send by mail
    2) A blank form that you will fill with information the user sent to you
So, call the assistant create the 2 files but don't send them to people and save them locally. Open the second file and fill it in reader, you will see you will save change.

  • How to create form fields in Adobe Professional version 8

    Hello,
I have been trying for some time now to get a form in place. I have used an existing form and I am working in Adobe Professional version 8.
I went to tools, forms and than I thought I had to click on text field tool. But than it asks me to name the text field. I want to keep the name fields blank and have them completed by the persons I will send it to (or actually this form will be posted online). The other persons should be able to open, complete, save and return it by email.
please advise me what to do.
Your help section brings me all the time to the Life Cycle which I think is not appropriate for the purpose I need it.

Thank you for your advises but I have the impression my initial question is still not being answered.
I have tried to create the fields in Adobe Pro 8 version, via forms, text field tool and named all the fields.
Than I saved it and enabled the usage rights for Adobe Reader but opening this file from another computer in Adobe Reader, it allows me only to add comments and markups in the document, not filling out the form in the form fields I thought I created before?
Now what to do? Did I do something wrong with the creation of form fields, can you please describe the exact path/steps to take?
    Appreciate your prompt reply.

  • After creating a form, how do I download it for further editing with Adobe Professional XI?

After creating a form, how do I download it for further editing with Adobe Professional XI?

This is probably a new precaution that Apple has taken to alert folks that something has occurred with their account that has not occurred before*, namely a Mac has downloaded something from their account that has not done so before. And as the notice says, if it was you doing so, then you may safely ignore the notice. Also, do not be alarmed, Apple refers to all downloads as purchases, even when they are free.
But if you are truly concerned about the notice then you can authorize the Mac with your iTunes account, which should be the same as your MAS account. Open iTunes on the older Mac and sign into your account. Then in the Store menu choose Authorize This Computer. Now this Mac is definitely associated with your account and can now play media that you purchase from the iTunes Store as well.

  • Filling out pdf forms using adobe professional 6.0

I am trying to complete a form that is only available in pdf format. The form has lines where you are supposed to enter your information. I am using Adobe Professional 6.0. The "touch up text tool" allows me to add the text, but it removes the lines on the form. Using the line tool, I am able to underline the text I enter, but the line doesn't print out. If I try to printing with the "print with comments" option, it prints the line, but it also includes a comment with each of the lines. I read that the later versions of Adobe Professional have a "typewriter tool"--which seems like exactly what I need. Is there anything similar to that available for the Adobe Professional 6.0. Thanks!

Thank you everyone for your input. I found the best way to enter the information into the form was to use the "text field" tool(under tools, advanced editing, forms). I had to change the properties for the text field a little, so that the information would show up correctly on the form. Thanks again!

  • Conflict with Adobe Professional while opening Adobe Interactive form

    Hello Experts,
We have developed an Adobe Interactive form which is being lauched from the Portal. Every functionality is working good.
Some of the users have Adobe professional on their machines and when they try to launch the Adobe Form, the form gets automatically opened in the Adobe Professional. Pls note that I have set the file types for PDFu2019s to open with Adobe Reader.
However this setting is getting overwritten and the form opens up in Professional always. Some Interactive form functionality is not supported by Professional, thus those users are not able to use the form.
Has anyone had this Adobe Read-Professional conflict before? Please let me know how this can be corrected. I am have not been able to find much help until now.
    Thanks,
    Liz

    Hello Juergen,
Thanks for your reply. The Interactive form functionality works correctly with user machines not having Professional.
What is the Adobe Professional version that you are using currently? Maybe I should test with the latest version.
    Appreciate your help. Thks, Liz

  • Forms created with Adobe Professional 10 can't be printed

    Hi,
For some reason I have the problem that I have several forms and I want my clients to fill those out. The forms were created in Adobe Professional 9, and later created with the Adobe Professional 10 or actually with Adobe LiveCycle Designer. The forms were created in Word and adapted in livecycle designer.
On my computer I as well have Adobe Reader 7. The forms are then sent from the customer back to me, but I can not print them using Adobe Professional 10, But there is the possibility to open the forms with Adobe Reader 7 and print it which works just fine.
Now, the customer has to print out some forms on their own to sign them and send them back to us. As far as I am informed the customer has Adobe Reader 8 or 9, depending on the the department they work in.
About a solution I would be very grateful.
    Thanks in
    advance!

The forms are then sent from the customer back to me, but I can not print them using Adobe Professional 10,
What happens when you print the forms?

  • Mail Merge Function in Adobe Professional 8?

    Hello,
My company will soon be implementing an Electronic Document  Management System (EDMS).
One of the major hurdles were facing is that the new system will not be  able to generate copies of documents with controlled sequential numbers.   Presently we use Mail Merge to implant the controlled copy numbers on our Word  documents (using excel as the data source).
When we switch over to the new  system (EDMS), we would need to do the same thing but only on a PDF version of the  document. I've looked into the use of forms but don't think that's going to work as these are multiple page documents that need to have the same information on every page.
After reading about forms I get the impression that you would have to do every page separately (as opposed to having a data source like excel and fields in the PDF to accept the data from the excel file).
Is there any function in Professional 8 similar to Mail Merge in Word?
    Thanks!!

    Hi,
I was thinking of a Mail Merge function in Adobe Professional 8 itself, in
other words, performing a Mail Merge on a PDF document, as opposed to what I
think you're suggesting which is to create the Mail Merged document in Word
and then convert to PDF.  That wouldn't be a solution because these
documents will be residing in an EDMS database (Electronic Document
Management System which will hold both the Word and PDF version of a given
document), which creates it's own headers and footers when printing from the
system. There's no way to place a stamp at this point in the process because
you're within the EDMS system, no way that is without an expensive plug-in
or work around to the system, and with the way that Word doesn't always
convert so neatly to PDF, and the need for this stamped document to be an
exact rendition of the EDMS (printed) version, I would need another
    solution.
My original solution was to print the PDF version of a document from the
EDMS system, hence it will print with the appropriate EDMS Headers and
Footers (which only get added inside of the EDMS printing process), take
that print, scan it, and now with the scanned version (after setting up the
fields where the merged data will go), merge it with a data source (excel)
and print it out.  We would then have a document with a controlled copy
number that has all the appropriate formatting of the EDMS version, plus of
course a unique copy number stamped where we choose.
Of course none of this will work unless Acrobat Professional 8 can do Mail
Merge from within itself.  This is what I need to experiment with....any
    ideas?
    Thanks!
    Paul

  • Use Adobe Reader to Save Form Data

I use Acrobat 8 Professional to create several forms and enabled usage rights in Adobe Reader so that my users can save the form data locally using Adobe Reader 7 or higher. My questions are: (1.)Is there a limit to saving the form data? For example, the form can only be save 500 times per form or is it unlimited. (2.)If there is a limit to saving the form like 500 times, can the same form be recreated and the limit of 500 starts all over again? (3.)Do I need to purchase a license to save these form data? (4.)How many forms can have enable usage rights in Adobe Reader per Adobe Acrobat professional? The reason why i'm asking these questions is because I want to be in compliance with the Adobe license. My users don't have Adobe Acrobat Professional, but would like to use Adobe Reader to save the form data.

    >(1.)Is there a limit to saving the form data?
It is my understanding that you can harvest data from a form 500 times whether that be from one user of 500 users.
    >(2.)If there is a limit to saving the form like 500 times, can the same form be recreated and the limit of 500 starts all over again
You'd probably be walking on thin ice by trying that. Could be a loophole but maybe not.
    >(3.)Do I need to purchase a license to save these form data?
Not if you stay within the limit that is stated in the EULA.
    >(4.)How many forms can have enable usage rights in Adobe Reader per Adobe Acrobat professional?
Different forms? As far as I know there is no limit to the amount of different forms you use.
In my opinion, if you think you are going to go anywhere near the limitations of the EULA, consult with your attorney before proceeding. The form enabling function was never intended for large business use. Adobe has another, more costly, solution for that.

  • Problem with Hyperlinks Created in Adobe Professional

Has anyone experienced weird behavior from hyperlinks created with  Adobe Professional when trying to open in Safari browser?  Our graphic designer has been creating our newsletter using Adobe Professional and hyperlinks are created to link our advertisers to their websites. But, when someone is using the Safari browser, the response is that the page is missing. This doesn't happen when the same link is clicked on using IE, Google Chrome or Firefox.

In order for a modified form to be saved with any recent version of Adobe Reader, the document has to Reader-enabled, which is done in Acrobat 9 by selecting "Advanced > Extend Feature in Adobe Reader". So if the forms worked with Reader 9, they must have had the rights applied through this process or by LiveCycle Reader Extensions. It would be interesting to see a form that is fillable/saveable with Reader 9 that doesn't work with Reader 10.

  • Acrobat version conflict when opening an electronic form

I have created an electronic form using Acrobat 9.0 that takes advantage of users being able to open, edit and save the form using Reader 9.0. The form includes a version-checking javascript to ensure users minimally have Reader 8.0 or 9.0 installed so that they can properly modify & save.
Unfortunately, some users have Acrobat 7.0 Standard installed on their system, and despite the fact they have set Reader 9.0 as the default application to globally open files having the .pdf extension, they're running into a problem where they always get a "wrong version" error message involving Acrobat 7.0 when trying to open the form, even from within Reader. The only remedy we've found so far is to remove the Acrobat 7.0 Standard program from their system.
Of course, this is not satisfactory, since they need to be able to modify their own and other files using their Acrobat 7.0 Standard, and do not wish to upgrade to a newer version at this time.
We'd sure appreciate any assistance or solutions with this dilemma.
    Thanks in Advance,
    --Calamity Vic--

    Hello Michael,
Thanks for your helpful response. I was not aware of any limitation for users to prevent an installation of both Acrobat and Reader on the same system. Many of us have both in order that we can use Acrobat to develop our documents, then use the free Reader program to test and verify their function as our users will experience them.
FYI, the javascript in the form is set up to check if the user has Reader 8 or better and close the doc if not. The reason for this is that users of the form need to be able to fill the form plus add personal stamps and such -- then save their changes -- which function was only implemented at version 8.
    Here is the javascript used:
    if (app.viewerVersion < 8) {
app.alert("You must have Acrobat Reader 8.0 or better to use this form.\n\nYou can find more information about and download the latest version FREE by going to http://www.adobe.com/products/reader/")
        this.closeDoc(true)
I see one solution to this that our "super user" who uses both Acrobat 7 and needs to open the form in Reader could consider setting up a second system which has Acrobat 7 installed, with Reader only installed on their main system. This is probably not very feasible though, since there will likely be a group (as many as 5-10) of super users here needing to use our form in this way.
Please let me know your opinion.
    Many thanks again,
    --Calamity Vic--
