Adobe should take responsability of their mistake

As I can see from the actual forum million of people have
lots of problems whit the new version of Flash Player, Why Adobe
doesnt help us? I did call them and ask for help, but there answer
was DYS (doit your self) you can go in the forum and try to fixit,
they made all this problems and they should sort this out as soon
as possible, people are loosing money and time, why don't they do
anything about it?
Or at least why don't they tell us how to reinstall the old
version 9.0.47.0 I'm try to install Active X 9.0.47.0, for weeks
but he doesn't work.
I feel like we are been use as test, Adobe don't forget that
people are loosing money for this big fiasco of 9.0.115.0
release.

Installing older versions of Flash Player (including the last
previous version, 9.0.47.0) is not recommended due to security
vulnerabilities in older versions. Adobe actually did recommend
downgrading to older versions, but such a recommendation is
ethically irresponsible.
The correct solution is a new version of Flash Player with
the problem corrected, though it's possible that Adobe has been
unable to find a solution.

  • How Adobe should monetize the AIR SDK and keep supporting game devs

As per the message title, someone at Adobe should take a look at this thread on the Starling Forum:

    Best Regards,

You typically use the Adobe AIR Update for Flash CS3
    Professional (
    http://www.adobe.com/support/flash/downloads.html)
with Flash CS. I don't know if it is possible to update the
libraries referenced by the authoring tool manually.
The AIR SDK is useful if you are developing AIR apps with
    HTML and JavaScript.

  • Reasons Adobe should write a migration manual from FH to AI

    what my friend wrote me...
About FHMX, how about educating people why Freehand is so
    much better than
ill, and publishing a migration guide from ill to Freehand.
    Maybe you and I
can join Adobe and implement this program! As a matter of
    fact I've already
written the introduction to the guide.
Top reasons why I love using Freehand MX over Illustrator for
    the work we
do. Try it, and you'll like it too.
•Gouping and ungrouping is time consuming in ill. If an
    object on the bottom
is grouped, the whole group is selected. Selecting the bottom
    object is
useless unless you ungroup all. Very time consuming.
Freehand can select one element even if it's part of a group.
    • It is common in ill & FHMX to hold down shift
    while clicking on objects to
select several at a time. ill has a tendency to 'pick up'
    & move those
objects as your moving from one to the other. Which means
    having to back up
your last step and then continue.
•• ill select/same/stroke colour, fill colour
etc. VS FHMX 'find & replace'
In ill available only 'document wide' which forces you to
    take the selection
and place it in a new document (usually a temporary measure
    ill forces upon
    you).
All this copying takes extra time when the art is complex.
Since changing colours is often the goal, opening a new
    document means
having to drag into the new doc, all the colours you'll be
    needing to
    change.
Also when choosing same fill & stroke colour, ill doesn't
    catch everything,
so you have to try several times to get everything.
FHMXs 'find & replace' runs on whatever you select,
    without requiring
    copying
the info to a new document, so there is no waiting like in
    ill. And it
catches everything all in one shot. Wham, bam thank you maam.
    FHMXs 'find &
replace' light years ahead of ill.
    • Multiple page documents
FHMX multi page documents can be of different sizes and
    orientation within a
single document. Ill must have the same size and orientation.
Ill allows only one page size & page format while FHMX
    permits you to use
any combo within the same document, all with the click of a
    button. Job's
    done.
ill: go into doc setup and calculate new overall width.
    "let's see I need 5 pages of 8.5x11 so that's 8.5" x 5 pages
    =42.5" width.
If you add a page, all the doc info gets shifted off center.
    Ill requires
you to select all, (make sure nothing is locked!) and
    recenter all the
pages. All time consuming and unnecessary in FHMX.
Ill can't handle multiple pages when it come time to print
    them all. In
order to be able to print an 8 page document with simple
    vector art (without
any linked files) in illustrator, it was necessary to convert
    the document
to 8 single page documents. Each page took 5 minutes , 40 min
    total.
FHMX prints multiple page documents with no hesitation.
••ill has no collect for output. This is
    ridiculous. FHMX enables you to
enjoy creating freely without having to think of where that
    tiff you just
imported came from. When the art is finished in FH, click
    'collect for
output' and in under 5 seconds a complete folder is created
    of everything
you need to backup that artwork.
Never spend one second looking for anything again when
    opening a freehand
document. Not today, not tomorrow, or in three months.
In ill, after the art is done, you need to spend the time
    looking for those
linked files, to gather them into a folder. And when a
    deadline is so
important, will you actually take the time? NO! So days,
    weeks, or months
later, when you need to open the file and the tiff is
    missing, well, I hope
you like treasure hunts, because with time tiffs can be moved
    or go missing.
With this one feature, FH saves hours of time per year over
    ill.
•Pathfinder/combine in ill is slow ad often crashes the
    program. (See next
point) Freehand unite is Fast!. ill requires you to ungroup
    all elements
before using the filter. FHMX doesn't.
    ••Paste inside.
FHMX enables you to use garment sketches without modifying
    shapes to
accommodate a tiff pasted inside. Tons less work over ill.
    'Paste inside' in
FHMX is fast & effortless, encouraging you to paste
    inside each individual
shape of the garment. (Ex. Belt loops, waistband, pockets,
    body. All get
their own tiff pasted inside.) This gives the artist freedom
    over each
individual tiff. Changes can be applied in light/dark or
    angle to each tiff
    seperatly from one another.
Ill cannot do this without a massive investment in time, it
    doesn't even
compare with the ease of FHMX. ill method is also a pain to
    work with ,
requiring you to lock/unlock items as the masks bounding box
    is often in the
way. This requires you to lock nearby elements in order
    select. Very
annoying. This work around is so time consuming it
    discourages you to paste
inside individual shapes. In fact it's impractical to do so.
    You're forced
to combine all shapes and paste one tiff into this one
    overall shape, which
is time consuming because it increase your workload to
    achieve a lesser
    result.
Ill requires you to draw a duplicate shape which must lie in
    perfect
register with the shape underneath it. Shapes are often
    composed of highly
complex components (ex:text) that need to be united into one
    overall shape,
to paste into. Often these complex shapes crash illustrators
    unite filter,
making the job time consuming or impossible. FHMX requires
    none of this
workaround, because FHMX enables you to past into individual
    shapes.
FHMX can even paste inside a paste inside, and in easily
    accesible layers,
creating realistic effects. Don't even dream of doing this in
    ill.
•ill toolbox. The 'Venus' girl at the top of the box is
    often clicked in
error resulting in an annoying 'Adobe online' dialogue box
    appearing. So
annoying! Bury this feature elsewhere, or at least move it
    away from the two
arrow tools, the two most used tools of the whole program!
    Stop interrupting
    workflow!
    •Ill locking unlocking frenzy
You'd like to add a point to a path. In FHMX, select the path
    and click on
    it
with the pen tool. You're done.
In ill, select the path and click on it with the pen tool +.
    But ill adds
the point to the path in front, even though you selected the
    one in back!
Ill forces you to lock the front path to get to the rear
    path. If your
artwork has many layered paths, get ready to go on the usual
    locking frenzy
until you get to the path you need. All this just to add a
    point.
As an added bonus, ill often throws the "Can't add an anchor
    point. Please
use the add anchor point tool on a segment of a path"
    dialogue box in your
face, as if you can't aim a point on a path.
    Paste inside
    • Because paste inside in ill is so complicated, a
    common workaround is to
create a pattern swatch to achieve the same ease as in FHMX.
    However pattern
swatches are simple vector paths that can't match the
    subtlety of a tiff.
When opening a new document, swatches have to be brought in
    to the new
document to be used.. When changing a pattern colour, a new
    swatch has to be
created, which is more time consuming than changing the tiff
    colour in FHMX.
    5 seconds vs. 5 minutes
    • The arrow+ tool in Ill selects in increments of one
    group at a time. FHMX
selects in increments of one element at a time, giving the
    user greater
    control over elements within groups.
    • In Ill before using Pathfinder/Unite, you should
    save, because pathfinder
tool often crashes the program. Since large documents take
    time to save,
waiting time in Ill multiplies. FHMX doesn't crash when using
    the pathfinder
tool so much time and frustration is saved.
Sometimes Pathfinder in Ill just won't work the way it's
    expected to. I wind
up importing the art into FHMX where it works fine and
    instantly.

I think what Morty said needs to be reminded here:
    quote:
    quote:
Should we read anything into Adobe putting out the Freehand
    to
Illustrator migration guide you posted about?
No, that's something that Adobe has planned for quite some
time. I hinted to its release several months back when we were all
discussing how Adobe should produce such a document. This "rumor"
that I refer to is something that surprised me as well. I have yet
    to confirm it though...
    Mordy
Since Adobe was planning this for some time, let's not jump
to conclusions. Mordy did confirm to us that there is indeed a
Product Manager for FreeHand. Also, it's interesting to note that
Adobe has a different situation on their hands than they did with
Pagemaker. What we have is two competing (?) programs, FH and Illy,
they are both truly loved by their devoted users. Adobe probably
realizes that they gave to keep both because the users of either
program have been devoted for years. Neither Illy or FH users would
be happy about migrating. Adobe I'm sure will keep both programs
(at least I'm hoping they are smart enough to). When Adobe migrated
Pagemaker users to InDesign, InDesign was a new tool. Illy is old
like FH...you ca't force a migration to a tool that is just as old
as the one your migrating from.

  • Adobe Store takes too long to deliver download and serial information

Earlier this week we received some Indesign files for a job, but they were in Indesign 5 format, so we were unable to open them with Indesign CS4. So, taking this as a sign that it was time to upgrade, yesterday, at around 1pm UK time I purchased the upgrade from Creative Suite Design Premium 4 to Creative Suite Design Premium 5.5. I logged onto the Adobe.com store, looked at the options - Home and Home Business, Small and Medium Business, Eductation and selected Small and Medium Business (because that is what we are). I purchased the upgrade (as a download), received a confirmation email from Adobe and waited....and waited...and waited. At the end of the day I called Adobe Custopmer support and asked why I have not had any email showing links to download sites, and serial numbers. I was told it can take 24 hrs to process the order.
Well here we are over 24 hrs later and I have still not had any information from Adobe. I tried calling the customer support and it is only open between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday. The customer support website is down. The Adobe Volume Licensing site is down - and was all day yesterday as well.
In the meantime I have no way of opening the files. My deadline is Wednesday and we had planned to work on the job today and tomorrow (which is why I am sitting in my office now). It appears I cannot access customer support before Monday morning, and the customer support website is down until tomorrow evening UK time - at least. This means working all night on Monday and probably Tuesday - assuming we get access to the download information early Monday.
Adobe is one of the biggest software vendors in the world. When I buy software - online and for download, with a credit card - I expect to be able to access the software immediately. There is no excuse for this delay. None. A business the size of Adobe should not have customer services down for 2 days. Support should run 24/7, 365 days a year. My enquiry yesterday was routed to an offshore call centre, so having a 9 to 5 cut off is simply ridiculous.
The simple fact is that even the smallest software vendors we buy from deliver the goods within minutes. As you can tell I am mightily "annoyed" by this. At this point in time I am wishing these files were in Quark Xpress format (we have both). Quark used to have terrible support but they are now very good - and available.
As a customer of Adobe for over 15 years I am disappointed. Today, in my email inbox I have emails from Adobe about new online cloud services. Well, why would I want to invest any more in Adobe software if I cannot even access the ones I have bought - quickly?
If companies like Adobe want to know why piracy is rife - look at your own delivery systems. The only option I have now to do this job is to either download a pirated version (which I will not) or to download and run the trial for Indesign.  How stupid is that?
    Apologies for the rant.

Hi Kevin, not sure why it's taken longer than usual, but you can just download the free trial in the meantime.  It will work 100% for 30 days, and you can convert it over to the full version once you receive your permanent serial number without reinstalling.  This is fine even with a business license.
There's really no reason not to proceed in this fashion, especially with an imminent deadline.  Adobe recommends this in cases where there is any sort of delay (for example, student validation) or immediate need.  And absolutely you should avoid downloading the software from anywhere else, which is not only illegal but also hazardous to the health of your computer (malware).
    Hope this helps!
Acrobat has never had a Trial for Mac. Probably never will.

  • Best Buy should be ashamed of their lack of customer service.

On Saturday, 7-26-14, I attempted to file a claim on a cell phone warranty. In store I was notified that the policy was inactive, yet a second phone that was attached to the account was all active. I researched the cause of this and found my credit card was cancelled due to my bank discovering possible fraud. My wife called customer service in May, and after dealing with rude representatives, she was able to get both phone insurance policies reinstated.
When I called customer service today, after being hung up on twice, I was told that the policies were reinstated, but my wife failed to update the credit card information. I thought the error was on our part. My wife was able to find another email from Best Buy, that proved she updated the information. Conveniently however, Best Buy supervisor Mark was unable to find this proof email, but could find the earlier email. I find this highly unlikely.
Mark did reluctantly reinstate the policy, and told me I would have to go back to store to follow through with the claim. I notified Mark that due to the incompetence of Best Buy, and their insistence that I was the one that failed to update my policy, I threw the paperweight of a phone away. He then told me that I was out of luck, but referred me back to the store.
I understand the concept of "passing the buck" back to the store because that allows him to get off the phone with me. He also told me that my bank was the problem, yet I find it odd that the second phone on the account was current on payments. He also could not explain why, if it was my bank's fault, that no email was sent. Best Buy was quick to send an email when my credit card was cancelled due to fraud protection, but not this time?
Best Buy customer service gives people the run around, fails to live up to their obligations, and loses certain emails that show the costumer is correct. Best Buy also refuses to make their mistakes right or to even admit mistake on their behalf. I was told by Mark that he is in charge of the Customer service call center, so I obviously will not receive a reasonable resolution to this problem.
Best Buy has the absolute worst costumer service that I have ever dealt with. I will never conduct business with Best Buy again and I'll encourage every person that I come in contact with to do the same.

    Hello molonlabe-
I’ve been fortunate enough to not have to need service on my cell phones to this point (knock on wood), but if I ever do, I hope that my experience doesn’t match yours.  It certainly sounds like it was frustrating.
Generally, if we are unable to collect payment on a monthly Geek Squad Protection plan three months in a row, we should be sending out an email to whichever address we have on file instructing you to contact us about this issue.  I’m sorry that this did not happen.
Usually, the email letting your know that your credit card information has been updated in an automated system email and Mark would not have visibility to that, though he should have been able to see when your wife called in and had the plans reinstated.  I will definitely be documenting this feedback for training opportunities.
If you no longer have the phone, we would be unable to assist you, however, if the plans have been reinstated, you may still end up being charged each month if you did not have Mark cancel the plan.  If you did not cancel that plan, I would recommend contacting us at 1-888-237-8289 for assistance with cancelling this to avoid any future issues.
Thanks for connecting with us; I do hope that at some point in the future, you will allow us another opportunity to earn your business.

Currently if you click the New posts button for a thread when it's zero it takes you to the first post of the thread.  I think it should take you to the last post of the thread.  If you click the title it takes you to the first post, no reason to have two links that offer the same functionality.
    Thanks

Actually there are options the user can set. For me, clicking the title takes me to the first NEW post. If there are zero new post listed for a thread, I don't waste my time clicking the thread at all. I believe most have their account set up the same.

  • Microsoft should take most of the blame.

I think Microsoft should take most of the blame for what is happening to us creative labs customers. Too many drivers are in still beta, or hardware is not supported at all. This is unfortunate. How long was Vista in the works? Didn?t it give Microsoft enough time to hustle hardware manufacturers to release drivers or at least have them well on their way to do so?
Its not rocket science hardware companies like creative etc are struggling at the moment to give us fully baked solid drivers.
    Microsoft sucks!!!!

I'm not sure blame is the right word; although MS have certainly changed things massi'vely in Vista, much of which quite late in it's development it is also important to recognise that progress is important and so these changes are quite reasonable. If anyone is to "blame" it's the PC Retail industry in general who sell this "magic and?pixie dust" idea that computers are these?fantastical devices which can seamlessly interface any piece of software with any piece of hardware. Masses of people have been dazzled with the new Vista Aero interface and like zombies they head to the store as they simply must have it now, and pay no heed to whether it will actually work with their systems or not. Don't misunderstand me, I love progress, I love shiny new things, I'm a geek 00%, but I've also got 30+ years dealing with these things. I would love to see how people would react to manually setting up IRQ and DMA settings back in the old days. Tsk, kids today, they just have it too easy?

  • How Adobe abuses customers and ends their business

I got home from a work trip yesterday (that started Sep 3) to find this Creative Cloud "offer" in my mail.
    "Don't miss out."
Very funny. Note the postmark. It was mailed DAYS AFTER the deadline, on September 3!
Kind of impossible to NOT miss out.
I called Adobe sales to politely explain the screw-up to them, and ask if they would extend their offer, given that they didn't send the notice out until after their offer expired. Wasted my time talking to a front line and then a floor supervisor. Anyone want to hear that conversation? I recorded it.
Adobe: you've just p*ssed off another decade -long $$$$ customer with your arrogance. Mistakes happen. But not apologizing, and not making good on your mistakes is unacceptable. From this attitude, I'm more than glad to move on.
I was told that I could get the same offer for 33% more cost.  Bait and switch. I'm not a US resident but I AM going to complain to the FTC about this.
Adobe, if you want to do the right thing you know where to reach me.

I'd like to close this thread by stating that Adobe contacted me and resolved their problem of mailing their offer card late (after their deadline), by extending the offer to me. I have taken it up. The salesperson, Luis, was very friendly and businesslike. Thanks Luis.
It is regrettable that I had to raise the issue in this public forum first before getting action, and the first person I initially phoned at Adobe about this issue was completely dismissive and wasted my time.
In closing this thread, I also want to be clear that, as a long time Adobe customer who has been purchasing perpetually licensed software since Photoshop 6, Lightroom 2, and CS2 that I am NOT convinced of your software-rental model. I observed the first year while other PP customers signed up to CC and saw next-to-no upgrades - and then had nothing to show for their $600 expenditure - unless they keep paying and paying.
I am also gravely concerned about being able to access and maintain my projects after the end of my subscription. I don't think it's fair or reasonable at all to lock in MY assets to YOUR payments.
But, at this point, Adobe hasn't given me the option of buying new software I can keep using without paying them perpetually.
It's really a new kind of perpetual license: perpetually pay. We'll see how the next year measures up.

How can i fix this problem, can't call anyone because all they have is MORE READING!!! And NO HUMAN CONTACT!
    YOU SUCK ADOBE!!!

NObody is orced to download Acrobat. Still, you did, you had your trial, and now it's finished. If you don't want to buy it, just uninstall it the normal way (but DONT) just delete it, ask if you don't know how to uninstall. Once it is gone, you might have to repair Adobe Readet. So, be angry but understand you had a choice of what to download. It would help you if you remember the full names of products, there is nothing called Adobe XI.

  • How to change the Field Symbol, so Adobe Forms takes it as a Table?

    Hi guys,
I created an Field Symbol, in a Interface which I use for Adobe Forms. The type of the Field Symbol is STANDARD TABLE, and this field symbol I fill with data from another program.
But the problem is that in adobe forms, this Field Symbol is taken as TEXT FIELD and not as Table... and this shows me a Dump because it can't convert Internal Table to type C (the dump is like that).
What I need, is how to change the Field Symbol, so Adobe Forms takes it as a Table?
I looked at Adobe Form, and found this:
The Type Category of the Field Symbol is DICTIONARY TYPE and I think I need to change it to Internal Table as shown in the right picture.
    Does someone have any idea?

    Hello Taly,
To what i understand your requirement, you need to pass data from Field symbol to internal table in Adobe form.
You have done it correct partially. I have replicated your scenario and steps are below -
    1) Create a Z structure
    2) Create Z Table Type
    3) Create Adobe Interface with Table & Field Symbol. Also do coding as shown to assign the internal table populated in driver program to filed symbol.
    4) Design Form as -
    5) Code driver as -

You are on Windows 2000, you do not have a "Firefox" button, and should consider yourself to be fortunate in that you still have menus and don't have to do anything to get the menus back instead of the "Firefox" button. (The same applies to Windows XP users).
Use the "File" menu to get to Import. You are not on Windows 7 or Vista, and don't have to put up with the nonsense added for Aero.
If you want the "Firefox" button you can get it with View -> toolbars -> (uncheck) Menu Bar. The menu bar and the "Firefox" button were supposed to be mutually exclusive (which is impossible in some cases without being incompatible).
Once you are using the "Firefox" button ...
Use the "Alt" key to view the menu bar (temporarily) containing File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, and Help. On Windows 7 and Vista, the menu bar was hidden by default in Firefox 4 and above. These menu items are more or less available under the "Firefox" button which has the most used of the built-in Firefox menu items available in a different format.
To get back to having menus again. "Firefox" button -> Options (second column) -> (check) Menu Bar
You can make '''Firefox 7.0.1''' look like Firefox 3.6.*, see numbered '''items 1-10''' in the following topic [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/firefox-problems.htm#fx4interface Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 4.0 thru 8.0, look like 3.6)]. • I should take it I have a problem with Thunderbird opening hyperlinks in a tab on an existing window in Chrome rather than in a new window. How can I fix this?

I am trying to figure out if this an issue that I need to fix in my Thunderbird, or if it has to do with Chrome, which is set as my default browser. If someone could let me know how to fix it if it IS a Thunderbird issue, or if I should take it up with Chrome, I would be grateful.
    Thanks!

I think that would have to be a setting in Chrome. That should control how new pages linked from other applications are treated.

  • How do i find previous owner of iphone 5 so they can take the phone i bought off craigslist and take it off their account so i can use it.

how do i find previous owner of iphone 5 so they can take the phone i bought off craigslist and take it off their account so i can use it.

The same way you found them to buy it - use whatever means you
used to accomplish the purchase on craigslist.
Apple cannot/will not give you the information about any previous
    owner(s) of the iPhone.
When/if you do contact them, here is what the previous owner needs
    to do:
Backup the device to iTunes or iCloud, if desired: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
    Settings > Messages > iMessage > Off
    Settings > FaceTime > Off
Settings > iCloud > Delete Account (this only unregisters and deletes it off the iPhone)
Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings

    Hi dear,
Please give me the solution for how the Billing date should take by default in VF01 screen( taday's date) .
So that users are not allowed to enter the billing date in vf01 screen.

    Hi
If you want the billing date should be in display mode then see below
Go to SHD0- t code and create the transaction variant for the VF01 in that tick the  Billing date as display and save.
then assign the transaction variant in the standard variant  and activate the same.
