Adobe Updater 6 doesn't work

I have run Adobe Updater 6, which tells me that I have 5 updates. I run the updates without a hitch, but the next time I run the updater again, it says I still need to download the same 5 updates. I have restarted, fixed permissions, logged in as a clean account, closed my eyes and crossed my fingers -- all to no avail. Any suggestions?
I am running Mac OSX 10.6.6 and have a 3 CS4 programs (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) along with Acrobat Pro 9.

Hi ekiM,
I'm sorry you're running into problems with the Adobe Updater.  Would you mind reposting this on the Mac Creative Suite forum?  You've reached the AIR installer forum and I just don't have the expertise needed to answer this one.
Thanks,
Chris

  • Adobe Reader doesn't work after windows 7 update

    Hello,
    My Adobe Reader X was working fine, until one night where Windows 7 automatically updated, and after that Adobe Reader doesn't work anymore. It doesn't respond AT ALL when I click on it, and I cannot view PDF files anymore.
    I uninstalled it, and re-installed it --- still doesn't work. I tried downloading version 9, but still it doesn't work.
    I also tried to do system restore, but somehow it won't let me --- it says it failed to do so.
    When I try to open PDF files in IE 10, it says "There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader..." and an error code of 103:103.
    Could anyone help me?
    Thanks!

    You can try running cleaner on your machine
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
    and then again install latest Reader from
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

  • Adobe Reader updater doesn't work properly in Windows 7

    For the longest time, I've been receiving update notifications from Adobe Reader, prompting me to upgrade. I always say ok, download the update. Then it always takes like 1 second to download (hard to believe it's that fast), then I get the install window. I press the "Install" button and the window disappears and I don't receive any additional messages... Until I reboot my computer and I get again the same update download prompt window.
    So it seems the update doesn't work and that's why I get that message EVERYTIME I reboot the PC. Not matter if I reboot every 5 minutes, I always get that message.
    Please, fix your updater so it doesn't annoy the user like this with non working updates!
    Since the updater doesn't work, is there a way to disable it? Thank you!

    Ok, I've added the registry setting you mentioned, then I've started "AdobeARMHelper.exe" again to get the tray notification about the available update. Then I've clicked it, I got the download window, I clicked "Download", then 1 second later I got another tray notification about the update being ready to install (maybe it takes so little time because the update is already in my computer and so it doesn't download anything). Then I clicked the tray notification and got the install window. I clicked Install, and nothing else happened, as always.
    Then, I've checked the "AdobeARM.log" file, and now it shows the following:

    It seems there are some errors in Spanish, probably because they come from Windows, which is configured in Spanish in my PC. "El sistema no puede encontrar el archivo especificado" means "The system cannot find the file specified".
    I hope you can find the problem with that information.

  • Lastest camera raw update doesn't work. Bridge no longer recognises my raw files.

    I'm using CS 6 and lastest camera raw update doesn't work. Bridge no longer recognises my raw files.

    Let's see if I can simplify it for you...are you using CS6 (yes, it seems), are you having ACR problems (yess it seems). So, do you want to fix your issues? Then read this (pay close attention to the details)...
    http://helpx.adobe.com/bridge/kb/acr-84-bridge-cs6-metadata.html
    It pretty much says you need to download a different version of ACR and install it (if it's not too diffucult for you to understand) to get ACR & Bridge to work properly...or not. Your choice...

  • Creative Cloud Updater doesn't work

    Hello,
    last year I downloaded a trial version for the creative cloud. Then I decided to buy a normal CS6 license and didn't use CC anymore.
    Now I would like to try Adobe Muse. But somehow I just can't use the CC updater anymore. When I try to install it again, the installation just stops, without a warning or anything and nothing happens.
    I hope somebody can help me, thank you!

    Hi Jeff,
    Thank you for your help. It works now, i uninstalled CC and installed it again.

    What exactly means "refuses"?
    This is the message which comes up if I try to update (from the Help menu) or re-install my licenced copies of CS6 or Photoshop Elements 9.
    “We've encountered the following issues
    Installer failed to initialize.Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem”
    Get Adobe Support Advisor”
    OR
    on trying to open PhotoshopCS6 I get this message:-
    “Adobe Application Manager required to start your trial, is missing or damaged.
    Please download a new copy of Adobe Application Manager from http://www.adobe.com/go/applicationmanager_uk”
    When I follow these instructions and try and start up/install or update Photoshop CS6 I get the same messages all over again. This has been going on since Tuesday afternoon and I am anxiuous to resolve the problem. For several years now all this has worked perfectly through your website and I cannot understand what has changed.  Once I cancel these messages the products themselves seem to function OK. When I attempt to use Adobe Update Manager I get the same messages as above. You will see that my products are properly licensed and up to date. Have you any solution?

    Every Programme that it is opened with Adobe Reader doesn't work What Can I do ?

    More information please.
    Version of Reader? OS?  Can you open reader by double-clicking on its icon? Can you open reader by double-clicking on a pdf file? What programs are trying to open reader? Some programs might be restricting your ability to view pdf files using the Reader plug-in due to security concerns. If this is the case you need to find out how to enable the plug-in in the case of each application.

    This update doesn't work!  I'm at 10.5.8 on my old iMac G5, installed the update and brightness and volume just do not work.  What next?

    I have a brand new wireless keyboard... so it's never going to work.  BUT... I found a sort of work round!
    Since it's eyeTV that I want to control the volume more than the system volume I discovered cmd and up/down arrows do the job.  I gess I'll forgo the brightness function.
    I'm a little frustrated that it appears Apple seems to want to push me towards an upgrade of a perfectly serviceable iMac G5.  I'll be keeping it to watch TV, surf the web, wordprocess and let the macbook pro handle photos & video.

  • Adobe Updater won't work w/ Reader 9.3.1

    Hi,
    Recently I've been using Reader quite often, but noticed I can no longer update it, as it comes back with an error message saying the firewall is blocking the update or the adobe updater server is down.  I worked with Symantec to uninstall my AV program that controlled the firewall, and tried to update with no luck.  I'm on Win7 64-bit.  Calling Adobe's Tech Support line redirected me here to the forums.  Can someone help?
    By chance, would the Adobe Updater stop working because I recently downloaded & installed a trial version of Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0, as the updater function doesn't work on that one either.

    Usually, when you uninstall Norton or Symantec Firewall (good choice, by the way) the Windows firewall is reactivated as part of the process.
    Unfortunately, when this happens it resets all of the settings for Windows firewall to the default settings, and you usuallt have to go in and "re-allow" programs to access the web on an individual basis.
    Open Control Panel > System and Security and click Allow a program through Windows firewall. Click [Allow another program...]
    Browse to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe and click Open.
    You should see Adobe Reader 9.3 in the list of programs.
    Click Add, and it will be allowed (allowing the Updater too, presumably) through the Windows Firewall. Clik OK to close the Firewall allowed programs window.
    Try the update again.

  • Last update doesn't work

    Hi!
    I just update flash player(14.0.0.125) and now i can't watch videos or play games. I used firefox so I tried with Explorer and Chrome but it doesn't work either.
    I went to the adobe help page but nothing there help me.I have Windows 8 (64-bit). Thank you

    Apple, please can you fix asap? Our company uses GDrive as a standard for all files including Numbers spreadsheets created on Mac and use iPad's to edit on the the road. With new version of iWork we've come to a sudden halt no longer being able to do so. Not practical to move all spreadsheets out of 100's of GDrive folders that contain common files by client into iCloud. To fix need an option to save Numbers sheet from Mac as a .ZIP file as the iPad does when you open the sheet in GDrive from Numbers on iPad. Please get onto this soonest, IT is talking switch iPads to Surface and back to Office from iWork.

  • Licensing of my Adobe products "doesn't work anymore"; errorcode 150:30

    Is this the technical support of Adobe? If so, I have a question (if not: where and how can I find it?): I use the German version of the Creative Suite 4 on a Mac OS X Mountain Lion (version 10.8.2). After regenerating a Time Machine backup I couldn't open the suite's programs anymore.
    The first days an error message kept telling me I needed to install a Java SE 6-Runtime-version, but unfortunately I didn't have Internet so couldn't do anything but wait to get my new internet contract. When I had internet again, a newer Java update (version 1.6.0_43 instead of SE 6; I can't find SE 6 to download, if this should be necessary) obviously was installed automaticly, but instead of the first error message I now always get a window telling me the licensing of the product doesn't work anymore. It tells me to relaunch the computer and if this doesn't solve the problem (which it doesn't), I shall consult the technical support of Adobe and indicate the errorcode 150:30. Can you tell me what do do? Thanks in advance!
    Theo

    Hi verwirrt,
    Error 150:30 usually comes up if you use timeline or any other software to migrate the files from the older Mac to the newer one or in case of licensing issues.
    If you have used a migration software to transfer the files then it's not recommended.
    Please remove the files and reinstall CS4 from the disk.
    Moreover Photoshop CS4 has not been tested on Mac 10.8.2 and you might face compatibility issues.
    Further if you have installed the software from the disk and did not transfer the files from the older mac to the new please refer to the steps mentioned in the Kb doc : http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/error-licensing-stopped-mac- os.html
    And if you do not have the disk to reinstall the software, then please download from the direct download links available at : http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here. html
    But make sure you follow the important instructions on the page before initiating the download.

  • Updater doesn't work . . .

    My apology if this is already addressed;
    I can't use the "updater" feature,
    it doesn't work, it never has on any of my systems (3x XP SP3; 2x P4 & 1 Core2Duo)
    I've always had to install directly from the full "Offline Installer .exe"  download,
    by first removing the older version and then running the newer installer.
    I can't seem to find any full "Offline Installer .exe" file
    the last version of the file I have is:
    install_flash_player.exe  v. 10.0.22.87
    now all I can find is the online updater which fails
    - the update is never installed
    and on one machine it would come up with an error at every boot about
    not being able to find some file or execute some instruction or whatever
    I don't recall since I bombed the install and rolled back the old fashioned way to the last version I have
    - remove all traces or as much as possible of the install
    - install from the stand alone installer .exe
    the failure is not related to any AV because I don't use a "realtime / on-access" scanner on my systems
    - I run manual system & individual file scans as needed
    any idea how to get a stand alone Offline installer
    other than going through the licensing for a distribution copy?

    Offline installer downloads
    for Internet Explorer http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe
    for all other browsers http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe

  • Function xfa.sourceSet.dataconnection.update() doesn't work

    Hi!
    I want to update the field information on the SAP database and found in the Adobe documentation the function:
    xfa.sourceSet.dataconnection.update() .
    But the function doesn't work. Any ideas?
    Thanls and best greetings,
    Gregor

    Hi Andre,
    What Version of SAP Business One are you running?
    There is a known bug in the DI-API in 2005A SP01 PL36 (not sure what others it affects) that prevents an update to the billing address details.  I think this is resolved in patch 43
    SAP Note: 1128151 describes the issue.
    Symptom
    Update of BP default address information via DI is not complete.
    Scenario:
    Via DI: Update default address information in the business partner master data:
        Dim oBP As SAPbobsCOM.BusinessPartners
        Set oBP = vCmp.GetBusinessObject(oBusinessPartners)
        oBP.GetByKey (txtBPCode.Text)
        oBP.Addresses.SetCurrentLine (1)
    ' not the visual line number, this indicates the 2nd line(order by
    LineNum) in CRD1 for the specific BP
        oBP.Addresses.AddressName = "aa"
        oBP.Addresses.City = "bb"
        oBP.Addresses.Street = "cc"
        oBP.Addresses.Block = "dd"
        ErrCode = oBP.Update()
    Expected Results:
    All information is updated.
    Actual Results:
    Only the AddressName field is updated; all other information is lost.
    Other terms
    SAP Business One, SDK, DI, BP, Default Address, Update.
    Reason and Prerequisites
    Application Error.
    Solution
    SAP planns for this issue to be fixed in a patch of Release 2005 A SP01 and 2005 B. Please refer to the info.txt file on SAP Service Marketplace to confirm that the fix was included.
