Adobe Updates - CS3

Hi everyone,
Can you set up how to handle Adobe updates in CS3 so that you are informed about the updates but can choose when to install them? I recently downloaded the trial version of CS3 and today it updated a number things automatically. I would rather have the option to update and install on my preference.

Go to the Help Menu. Select Updates...
When the updater finishes checking for updates, you will have an option to
select Preferences. You can choose to have it behave as you desire.
But you probably needn't worry about any more updates this late in the
product cycle, barring a security disaster or something like that.

Please help anyone! i have adobe CS3 design premium and i just got a new macbook pro retina. i had it on my old one and never deactivated it...... not sure if this has anyting to do with it.. Have you tired a fresh install with installing any third-party apps?
Specifically Pace support and Safe Net.

Adobe Update CS3

Hi
We're still running Adobe CS3 and whenever we reinstall it for whatever reason we usually download and install the updates again as a single process, via Adobe updater. However right now I've just re-installed CS3 and run Adobe Updater on a laptop and it's saying there are no updates available yet the applications are all on version .0
This has created a problem for us. I tried installing the updates manually after downloading them from the Adobe updates site and but I could only get Photoshop 10.0.1 to and Adobe InDesign Illustrator to install. The Acrobat 8.3.1 patch said it was for the wrong version, and I had a similar report about the Illustrator patch.
I would like to have all the patches downloaded and saved on our server so that after an re-installation of Adobe CS3 I can just I can just run those.´Not sure how to solve the problem with Illustrator and Acrobat. Which patches do I need for the English .0 versions?

My best GUESS is a permissions problem... the user does not have download permission and/or the firewall settings do not allow downloads and/or antivirus settings do not allow download
So... download all updates for all CS3 products and write everything to a CD to then use as needed
I do not do "enterprise installs" but you might Google and read up on "slip streaming" to create a custom install that includes all updates
Also, in case you need to restore everything to a specific computer in case of something like a hard drive crash, use an imaging program to make an external image of a working drive, by computer name, to something like a USB hard drive
Hardware crashes or virus infections or simple software problems happen, so you should buy AND USE software to make a full backup of your hard drive to an external USB hard drive... plus, making step-by-step backups during a new install or major program addition makes it easy to go back a step if something doesn't work
This backup and then restore is, of course, only to the same computer with a new drive (or the same drive as long as you don't mind writing over everything) since doing a restore to a new computer won't work due to Windows and many programs having activation information that is keyed to your hardware (which is why Windows will force you to RE-Activate if you change very much hardware)

Image runs off of a bootable CD via Linux (the Zip you download includes a program to make the bootable CD) and it reads EVERYTHING on the drive, even the hidden registration information, so everything is restored when needed... and you may restore the image to a brand new drive in case of a crash, and not have to re-install anything
Please note that I own no part of Image, and I don't get a referral fee (that is just a plain web link) but I use the program and it has saved me a LOT of trouble when I had a hard drive die... and I was able to restore everything and not have to re-install or re-activate a single program, from Windows on up

Adobe Update CS3 requires Rosetta?

Hi,
I have a clean install of Snow Leopard on a new drive in my Mac Pro. After installing Adobe CS3 Web Premium I ran the Adobe updater. Towards the end of the install I was prompted to install Rosetta in order to run bspatch which seems to be part of the OS. I elected not to install Rosetta and to continue without this update. Has anyone else noticed this behaviour updating CS3? I'm mystified why a component of the OS should requite Rosetta to update a binary file.

I have CS3 working fine under SL without Rosetta. I think the problem you are having is with the instal software (VISE?) I have noticed this on several programs that work under SL. CERTAIN programs seem to have an older version of VISE. My hat is off to Epson who is using a current version!

Adobe Updater CS3 doesn't connect to the Internet

My Adobe Updater (version CS3) will not connect to the Internet.
I want to make sure I have the latest software, so is anyone able to help?

Same thing happens to me. Periodically Adobe Updater runs, and just sits there forever, spinning in a dialog that says "No Internet connection. Please check your Internet settings and/or firewall. Waiting for connection..."
My Internet connection is fine. I'm running 10.9.3.
BTW, I let my CS3 subscription lapse.

Adobe Updater (CS3) Crashes Repeatedly

I recently bought a new powerbook and loaded CS3 onto my new computer. It is running Lion 10.7.2. Right away, Adobe Updater started to crash. It crashes every time I start an Adobe product. Now InDesign is crashing every time I try to print. This is driving me nuts. Any suggestions?

Could be die-hard compatibility issues. in any case, download updates manualyl from Adobe's site and install them. The CS3 updater was never particulalrly reliable on any platform...

Adobe Updaterの不具合[CS3 / yosemite]

iMac（OS X.10）にCS3（CreativeSuite WebPremium）をインストールしておりますが、
以前よりAdobeUpdaterが動作しません。
「インターネット接続がありません。インターネットまたはファイヤーウォールの設定を確認してください。接続するのを待っています…」
という表示が出たきり、何も進行しません。
ちなみに、当該表示中でもインターネット接続はあります。
正常に動作させ、無事アップデートを済ませるには、どうすれば良いでしょうか。

動作保証外の組合せなので、動かなくても仕方ありません。
個別にアップデータをダウンロードして適用していくしかないと思いますが、
それでも適用できないものはあると思います。

Adobe Bridge CS3 2.1 Update and Vista 64 bit

I updated my CS3 applications using the Adobe Updater.
Now when I launch Bridge (either standalone or through one of the other applications in the suite) Windows immediatly reports that Bridge "has stopped working", closes the application and says it is checking for a solution. Needless to say no solution is found.
Bridge was working fine in Vista 64bit before I used the Adobe Updater.
Anyone else seen this?

Bridge CS3 crashing on E6600 DUO Core w/4gig ram two terabytes of drives. Vista Ultimate 64
I too have been encountering the mysterious Bridge crashes .."Stopped working.." .."insufficient disk space to complete."..
and .."insufficient memory .." when processing images in the RAW Plugin. Thiss has been going on for weeks and has been quite frustrating. And yes..this started after using the Adobe Updater ..
Note one line of the Bridge Error report lists:

I don't know what Quick Time has to do with Bridge ..but..
I went to Apple & got the latest Quicktime for Vista 64..and ALL the crashing problems have ceased! I have even turned back on "MULTI-PROCESSOR" Support. Running smoothly...
So what does Quicktime have to do with bridge image processing?

I need to reinstall my CS3 creative suite I bought with a student license. It allows me to install but never asked for the serial number. I can open the programs but can not use them, get a "Adobe updater quit unexpectedly" message.

I bought a CS3 creative suite on a student license in 2008. The original MAC laptop has died and I am trying to install it on a MAC desktop. the programs installs successfully but never ask for a serial number. the programs will open but I can not open any files, I get a Adobe Updater quite unexpectedly message. Is this because the serial number has not been entered? I have tried chat about this problem twice, also use Adobe connect and was not helped. How do I enter this serial number?

activate is grayed out. Registration is available and when I select it, it says "A problem was encountered while trying to send the information over the internet" So I select "submit again" and nothing happens. Then the program closes and I get the added updater quite message.

Problem with Adobe Updater - WebPremium CS3

Hello. Is anyone having trouble installing Adobe's latest updates to CS3 on Leopard (Macbook Pro)? It seems to hang on the Flash update. The update caused chaos on my Macbook Pro, constantly writing crash logs as soon as I quit a process another started up. I resorted to a clean install (my 3rd since Leopard) and exactly the same thing happens when Adobe Update Manager kicks in and gets stuck on Flash 9.0.2 update even when running as root. I reproduced the same results on my G5 too so at this point I can only assume the problem rests with Adobe. Anyone else?

Mac OS 10.5.6 Can't update CS3 I created a Specific Volume to Adobe

Hi, anyone can help me?
I created a specific Volume for Adobe software, and then installed CS3. But, the thing is that when I tried to run the updates, but seems impossible to adobe updater to see that I've installed CS3 on another volume. Can I fix this or I have to uninstall CS3 and then install again on the main volume?

Don't create a special folder or volume. Don't move the folders. Don't rename the folders. Let Adobe install install its software at its defaults. If you must have the software in a different location, create and use aliases instead. Or put your Adobe apps in the Dock. That is the probably the most reliable way to install, update and manage Adobe apps.

...after installing the software on an new macbook pro with mac OS 10.9 the
Adobe Illustrator CS3 13.0.2 update - German doesnot work. The following error occured. I've already re-installed the software, but the error occured again. Can anybody help?

As a first step though I would recommend reviewing the installation log files for the update. How do I update Java for Adobe Flash CS3?

When I ran Secunia Software Inspector today it told me that
the version of Java I have installed on my computer is out of date.
It tells me that it is finding 3 out-of-date files:
Once here:
C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_04\bin\java.exe
Twice here:
C:\Windows\System32\java.exe
and three times here:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS3\JVM\bin\java.exe
I updated Java via the Sun website and consequently the first
and second warnings disappeared when I reran the Software
Inspector.
The software inspector however is still finding an
out-of-date Java version here:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS3\JVM\bin\java.exe
Question is: How do I update Java for Adobe Flash CS3?
Is it adequate to copy the updated file "java.exe" from
"C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_04\bin\" to "C:\Program
Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS3\JVM\bin\" or do I need to do anything
else?
Any help will be much appreciated.

I have the same problem of you, and the same dont find a
solution. Me it's Kaspersky Anti Virus (AV) which find this
problem.
So (and I dont know if this solution is perfect), but I open
Flash CS3 with the Java update choiced and apparently Flash
fonctionnely well and Kaspersky dont find this
prob now. But I dont never use Java in Flash (or without that
I know that..), and same, I dont know at what Java is used in Flash
I think that "JRE v 1.6.0_04" and more recent Java version is
not good, because it's not quite the same Java application that in
Flash CS3, In Flash CS3 it's "J2RE" and
not "JRE".

Photoshop CS3 "Adobe Updater Quit Exexpectedly"

I'm running Photoshop CS3 on Mac version 10.7.5. Every time I open PS I get the error message "adobe updater quit exexpectedly". Once I click out all I see is a white box for "Adobe Web Suite Premium CS3" that is blank. It can only be minimized - not closed. Everything else in PS is greyed out and unusable. Please advise. Thank you!

Hit the same thing, I found a work around.
1. Disconnect your internet.
2. Start CS3
3. You'll get an error screen, click "never register."
