Adrelink issue in windows 2008 R2
Hi,
i completed migration with you guys help successfully from 32bit to 64bit windows, now i am trying to relink ad executables, i opend SR,they suggested action,as per action plan i am not able to find appsora.cmd.
can you please tell me where i can find the appsora.cmd.
=== ACTION PLAN ===
1. Run %APPL_TOP%\envshell.cmd using either Windows Explorer or the Run command from the Start menu. This creates a Command Prompt window that
contains the required environment settings for Oracle Applications. Run all subsequent commands in this Command Prompt window
2. If you have made any changes to the environment, check that it is correctly set by typing the following commands
C:\> echo %LOCAL%
C:\> echo %ORACLE_HOME%
C:\> echo %PATH%
C:\> echo %APPL_CONFIG%
3. Ensure all the PATH to the executables checked earlier using which command returns the PATH under cygwin directory
ex: which sort or which make
4. You must be sure to shut down the concurrent managers and other application tier services to avoid error like :
Error executing cp -pf D:\oracle\mocdev\devapps\apps\apps_st\appl\au\12.0.0/bin/alr*.dll D:\oracle\mocdev\devapps\apps\apps_st\appl\alr\12.0.0/bin
Please make sure file isn't being used.
5.-
2.1 Open a command prompt.
--> Start --> Run... --> type "cmd"
2.2 Change to the APPL_TOP directory
cd <full path of your APPL_TOP>
*2.3 Source the E-Business Suite Environment Settings*
APPSORA.cmd
I am not able to find the appsora.cmd under appl_top
*2.4 Setup the UNIX Environment, needed for relinking*
*2.4.1 Open a Unix shell :*
sh
i am not sure how to open this.as i am in windows environment.
2.4.2 Source the E-Business Suite UNIX Environment.
./APPS.sh
NOTE: This is a case sensitive command and the periods and slashes are important.
2.5 relink the binarie(s) needed.
adrelink.sh force=y "ad all"
its failing with status 1.

DRM Web Client 500.19 issue on windows 2008(x64) ERROR
Hi,
I installed DRM version 11.1.2 on windows server 2008(x64), according to the documents, I pre-installed .Net 3.5.1 and modified the applicationHost.conf file.
I found this in epm_install_troubleshooting
Web Client Access Failure
Issue: After installing Data Relationship Management on Windows 2008 64-bit platform, you
get this error message when attempting to access the Web client:
HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error The requested page cannot be
accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid.
Solution: In the IIS configuration file (C:/Windows/System32/inetsrv/config/
applicationHost.config), replace the two occurrences of Deny in the following section with
Allow:
<configuration>
<configSections>
<sectionGroup name="system.webServer">
<section name="handlers" overrideModeDefault="Deny" />
<name="modules" allowDefinition="MachineToApplication"
overrideModeDefault="Deny" />
However when I access the web client I got the 500.19 error, can't find C:\inetpub\wwwroot\drm-web-client\web.config, the web.config file do not exist.
Config File \\?\C:\inetpub\wwwroot\drm-web-client\web.configMight be too late, but the problem is that IIS is pointing to the incorrect path. Should not be pointing to C:\Inetpub\wwwrooot\.... it should be pointing to Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\products\DataRelationshipManagement\client\web-client same thing with the migration-client IIS app. To fix use the IIS Manager click the drm-web-client virtual directory and select "Advanced Settings" and update the "Physical Path" property.

POA performance issues under windows 2008 R2
Hello - we are running GW 8.02 hp3 and recently moved our main post office (~600 users) from Netware to Windows 2008 R2 (running under Vsphere 4.1).
We have started seeing intermittent slow performance issues esp. when moving a message from one folder to another, or sending a broadcast email.
It doesn't appear to be a hardware resource issue: disk queues don't exceed 1, with low latency (7-15ms) and we're not cpu or memory bound (that I can see).
Here are our current config settings:
Message Worker Threads: 15
Maximum GWCheck Worker Threads: 8
C/S Handler Threads: 30
Max Physical: 2048
Max App Connections: 4084
Soap Threads: 20
We don't see any serious errors in the logs when performance becomes slow. Could this just be a tuning issue? In article <[email protected]>, Javerkio wrote:

Windows is the lowest performing host for GroupWise, so that is a part
of what you are hitting.
How are you monitoring memory usage? I've found that the vCenter tools
aren't a good indicator of that, where as the Windows tools are better
in that respect. The biggy is that you don't want much paging to disk.
How much do you have assigned to this VM?, how many cores? And are
these ESX box(es) over committed on those two?
Those settings on their own don't really mean a whole lot. What we need
to see is what is actually being used, and if you are running out of
them, then upping those specific numbers can help. The best way is to
watch the POA web interface for the relevant settings.

I've downloaded 10203_vista_w2k8_x86_production_client.zip and performed a client install. I need to get oo4o up and running but the oo4o test page is failing with the following error:
Error: Unable to create Ora Session
[429][ActiveX component can't create object]
I've setup tests to prove .html pages work, .asp pages, and now attempting to make an oo4o connection to a database through an .asp page and I am unsuccessful.
Any thoughts regarding this? I started researching whether or not oo4o.dll files needed registering but wasn't sure if I'm getting way off track. I also found that when trying to run regsrvr32 on the oo4o wizard files I get an error that apparently means I'm denied access. Maybe this implies there is also permission issues with oo4o?
Any help is appreciated. What install type did you do?
Which page are you referring to by "the" oo4o test page?
I just installed 10203_vista_w2k8_x86_production_client.zip using the 'administrator' option, on x86 win2k8, had to fumble around a bit to get IIS to render ASP pages, but then it worked fine for me with the following. I assume this gives the same problem for you though?

Weird issue with Windows Server 2008 R2 Print Server
I have an issue with Windows 2008 R2 (VMWare Hosted) running Windows Print Server.
Prior to a small network change, the print server was working well, hosting about 80 different networked printers from various vendors.
We made a change (that we ended up rolling back) to the Client's DHCP Scope OPT 006 (DNS Servers). The DNS servers never quite worked right and broke AD authentication to different servers, and was just a mess.
After rolling back we are not able to keep the printers online. If we ping them from the print server, the printer(s) never wake up, when a print job is submitted. If we ping them from one of the access switches, they work fine (until they fall back asleep),
to prevent this, if we start a ping on the server AFTER waking them up from the Switch Ping, they stay online and no problems.
If we stop the ping, they fall back asleep at some point, and again, won't wake up without intervention/switch side ping.
Has anyone experienced anything like this? Any tips on how I could possibly resolve it?
Thanks in advance.Hi,
According to your description, the issue seems to be that the printers can't keep online. Sounds like a power managerment issue. Why these printers fall into sleep? Have you consulted this issue with the manufacturer of these printers? Do these printers
fall into sleep if them lose the contact with printer server? Have you tried to reset the printers?
>>We made a change (that we ended up rolling back) to the Client's DHCP Scope OPT 006 (DNS Servers).
DNS client will cache the recently queried records. If the DNS server has replied with a wrong records, communication issues will occur. To clear the DNS cache on a Windows device, please run the command below:
ipconfig /flushdns

Can I run OAS in 64bit Windows 2008?
I'm going to install the OAS in our 64bit Windows 2008 for evaluation, however, both the x86 and win64 file cannot be installed.
The following message is prompted when we attempt to install the win64 version:
The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher.
And the following message is prompted inside a DOS prompt when we attempt to install the x86 version:
Checking operation system version: must be 5.0, 5.1 or 5.2 . Actual 6.0 Failed <<<<
Existing Oracle Universal Installer, log for this session can be found at C:\.......
We can only install the OAS in a Windows XP workstation, does it mean that we have to use a Windows XP workstation as production server?
May I know if there has any OAS download for 64bit Windows Server 2008?Not exactlly. Maybe it's certified now, but still cannot install.
According to the update:
1. Windows 2008 is supported with patchset 10.1.3.4 or higher. Before applying the 10.1.3.4 patchset, customers must first install the base 10.1.3.x products using the following patches:
. 10.1.3.1.0 SOA requires patch 6712338 (http://updates.oracle.com/download/6712338.html)
. 10.1.3.2.0 WebCenter requires patch 6971010 (http://updates.oracle.com/download/6971010.html)
. 10.1.3.x Companion CD requires patch 7129052 (http://updates.oracle.com/download/7129052.html)
. 10.1.3.x Companion CD ASG Install requires patch 7129469 (http://updates.oracle.com/download/7129469.html)
. 10.1.3.x Companion CD Failsafe Install requires patch 7191497 (http://updates.oracle.com/download/7191497.html)
Additional notes for Windows 2008:
. The patches listed above apply to both 32 and 64 bit versions of Windows 2008.
. Please review the release notes on http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12524_01/relnotes.1013/e12523/install.htm#sthref7 for the 10.1.3.4 patch set for known issues for Windows 2008.
But....
1. 10.1.3.4 still not avaialble for direct download, you have to download 10.1.3.x then apply the patch. But the download of 10.1.3.x cannot be installed, how can we apply the patch?
2. You cannot download the patch without Metalink account (maybe, it's not for evaluation at this moment)
So, it still have to wait until the full package of 10.1.3.4 or above is available for direct download. -
Slowness when connecting to RemoteApp configured in Windows 2008 R2 Server using RDP file
Dear All,
When connecting to a RemoteApp configured in Windows 2008 R2 with less privileged user it takes ~20 seconds to connect.
Initial connection to
application takes about 20-30 seconds and once loaded, subsequent RemoteApp connection takes
2-3 seconds. i.e. if there is a disconnected session available in the server it connects quickly otherwise it takes long time.
I am seeing this issue with Windows 2008 Server, when I connect to a Windows 2012 Server RemoteApp gets
connected quickly. Also if I try with higher privileged user (like RemoteAdmin) connection is quick. The user I am trying is having lot of group policies set to limit user access to file system, desktop and registries.
If I keep UAC settings to minimal level connection happens quickly(i.e. solves this issue). But I am
not supposed to change the server UAC setting. It seems this has something to do with the list of group policies set for the user.
Any suggestion to avoid this first time connection delay for less privileged users for connecting to RemoteApp (in Windows 2008 Server).
Thanks
BachuuHi Bachu,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
First of all, if you are using RD Gateway serve then I would like you to
uncheck the “Bypass RD Gateway server for local address” under RemoteApp Manager Checkbox and notify the result.
Configure Remote Desktop Gateway Settings
Also like you to update the RDP client version to RDP 8.1 and then check the result. In addition,
I will suggest you to check that you have proper certificate in place. You can enable certificate revocation checking on RD Gateway client. Might due to this, you are facing issue. Please notify that you find any certificate related warning. Refer below article
for information.
How to Enable Certificate Revocation Checking on a Remote Desktop Gateway Client
Hope it helps!
Thanks.

Windows 2008 R2 FSRM Quota Management
Having issues with Windows 2008 R2 FSRM Quota Management. We have everyones Home drives setup with a quota. We have different quotas for different people and the Quota % Used is not matching what is in there Home drive. One user went as
far to delete all but 4GB on his drive with a 150GB Quota and its still showing at 91% used.
Been like this for weeks(user Claims).
Any thoughts
Thanks for any assistance.Hi,
Do you turn on the NTFS file system compression on the NTFS volume? In so, you may go over your disk quota limit even if you had plenty of free disk space available before you compressed the files.

Windows 2008 R2 install fails on ProLiant MicroServer G7 N40L
The system has 4 x 2.5SATA drives. I have tried RAID10 and RAID1. Used a 500GB partition for the Windows install. Every time the install gets all the way to the end of the initial install after it completes copying the Windows files and it about to reboot when I get:
Windows could not prepare the computer to boot in the next phase of the installation. To install Windows, restart the installation.
This has happened 3 separate times all at the same place. What am I missing here? Is there some incompatability issue with Windows 2008 R2? The system has 2GB of RAM. I can't tell what kind of memory it is (ECC, non-ECC, etc.)

BO XI 3.1 SP3 Install issue on Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit
We are trying to install the lastest Build of Business Objects XI 3.1 SP3 on a new server with Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit OS (51038908_part1.exe,51038908_part2.rar, 51038908_part3.rar).
The setup never finish! It seems that the setup can't validate the CMS installation and is trying again and again.
In the "Enterprise XI 3.1 SP3 - Windows - Supported Platforms" document, the Windows Server 2008 R2 Entreprise 64-bit Edition is supported.
The antivirus is desactivated and the setup.exe file was launched in the administrator mode.
Any ideas?
Edited by: Frederic Wojnarowski on Nov 22, 2010 5:45 PMWe have run into similar issues with that same package (51038908_part1.exe) which is a complete install of "BOE-3.1 package with SP3" for Windows 2008 Server that only installs in the 64-bit mode.
We had a 32-bit Oracle 10g client installed, that BOE did not recognize for the CMS - so the install was hanging at the CMS config...(no clear errors / no simple way to roll-back the failed install).
We only discovered the underlying Oracle issue when we deployed just the CMS with a local MySQL database - and then tried to point the CMS at the Oracle DB instead. It gave us TNS errors even though we could hit the same TNS without issue using SQL-PLUS on the same machine.
This lead us to assume that the 64-bit BOE couldn't connect via the 32-bit Oracle 10g drivers.
We have had trouble installing the 64-bit Oracle 10g client that we downloaded - so are now looking for some advice.
Anyone know which specific 64-bit Oracle 10g client should be used with the cumulative "BOE-3.1 package with SP3" 64-bit package (51038908_part1.exe)...?
I assume that this Oracle client will be used for any connection to the CMS / AUDIT Oracle databases - and any RPT content running on the CR-JobServers that is using an Oracle Native connection...?
Thanks in advance for the advice. -
Hi Team
We have our RDP client and i came across with one issue "Expected data got 3" with this client.
This issue is getting while connecting some of below operating system flavors.
Microsoft Windows 2008 Enterprise edition
Microsoft Windows 2008 Standard edition
Microsoft Windows 2003 servers
When we are trying to get RDP to those servers with our client, getting "Expected data got 3" error. One more main thing here is the specified error is not getting for all the servers of same operating system in above list.
Able to get the RDP console for those servers using mstsc client.
When i read the [MS-RDPBCGR] specification, i found the below points
mcsSDin (variable): Variable-length PER-encoded MCS Domain PDU (DomainMCSPDU) which encapsulates an MCS Send Data Indication structure (SDin, choice 26 from DomainMCSPDU), as specified in [T125] section 11.33 (the ASN.1 structure definitions
are given in [T125] section 7, parts 7 and 10). The userData field of the MCS Send Data Indication contains a Security Header and a Valid Client License Data (section 2.2.1.12.1) structure.
In my code i am not getting SDin value as 26. Is it the problem with Remote desktop Licensing in RDP servers as specified in the specification like "The userData field of the MCS Send Data Indication contains a Security Header and a Valid
Client License Data (section 2.2.1.12.1) structure."
Could you please explain me is this issue is happening due to Licence configuration in RDP server and please provide support with server side configuration if any because our code works for other servers ?
Thanks & Regards,

Windows 8.1 RDP Issues with Windows Server 2008 Standard.
I have an issue maintaining an RDP connection from 64-bit windows 8.1 (standard and pro) to 32-bit Windows Server 2008 Standard. Initial connection is normal, and as long as I am constantly typing on the link, for the most part it stays up. However
if I do not keep typing, or go to another desktop program for a few minutes, and then go back, the following happens:
If I am typing into notepad (or some screen that does not require windows to be refreshed) I can continue to do so, so the connection has not been lost, however if I try to do something that requires more extensive exchange of information (like file
- open, or even trying to pull up the start menu), the connection pauses with about half the screen refreshed, sometimes after about 30 seconds a bit more of the screen fills out, but otherwise the connection is not responsive. Then after about 2 minutes,
RDP reconnects, at which point I am back to "normal". I have conducted some tests and made inquiries of others attempting to connect to the server.
1) I can connect to other Windows (servers 2008 R2 and 2012) with no connection issues from this PC
2) I can connect to the 32-bit server with no issues using Windows Vista Ultimate and Windows 7 from the same location as the WIndows 8.1 PC
3) When I do a network speed test while having these issues I see full download and upload speeds, so I am not experiencing intermittent internet issues.
4) No-one else from other locations (not of course using Windows 8.1) has any issues using RDP to the 32-bit Windows Server Standard.
These various tests seem to eliminate my network connection, and other operating systems, from the equation, and point to RDP issues on windows 8.1 connecting to the older OS. I noticed in the September updates, a case 2989039 which seemed to point
to similar issues when using UDP through Remote Desktop Gateway. That update is on my machine, and my connection has the setting Automatically detect RD Access Gateway server settings.
Any thoughts anyone?Hi RonaldRenaud,
If my understanding is right, this RDP issue only occur in the connection between Windows 8.1 and Server 2008.
Please check if you have installed the update kb2984006.
To resolve this issue caused by update 2989039, install update rollup 2984006. For more information, please refer to the following KB.
