ADS is hanging
Hi, Gurus.
Good day.
We have a weird error in ADS where it kept on hanging and adding to the pool of JDBC connector of JAVA.
We already tried restarting the server, and increased the maximum connections of the JDBC but the issue still persists. Is this due an applicatio that causing the error?
Please advise.
Thank you,
Virgilio
More details, please?
It makes more sense the problem is not related to ADS. Is there some applications connecting to ADS? Are they SAP Standard Applications?

For the love of God, please fix player 10.0.42.34!!!
Just as the subject says. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the latest flash player update three times within the last three days and I've updated Firefox twice within that same timeframe. Each time I update the player, my videos and flash ads stop hanging my browser, but then a day later flash ads or videos start freezing Firefox again. I'm pretty sure I've isolated it as a Flash player problem, too, because today I tried going back to using IE and installed the latest Flash player and it started hanging IE, as well. Also, I logged on to this forum and others and have seen a few dozen people posting discussions on the exact same issue. I've had very good experiences with Flash up to this point, but this is really getting annoying. And since so many websites now incorporate flash into their ads, it means I don't even have to watch a video to cause a hang. Simply loading a site with a flash ad does it.
I am running Windows 7 on a 64-bit platform. Please fix this so that I can surf the internet for more than ten minutes without my browser freezing on me.
John Whitebigjt_2 Well, don't be too hard on yourself. With Windows coming out almost back to back with Vista (4 versions) and now Win7, plus IE7, IE8 and adding more restrictions for security, no one can keep up with it all. On top of that you have
the Uninstall process, Windows uninstalls the old before adding the new. Adobe and Java do not remove the old when installing the new. And on it goes. If you don't know, you don't know. Not to mention the browser wars:-), you know the
my browser is better than yours, etc.
Actually I think you did a great job. Also you probably used the Adobe uninstaller at one time and the installer, that would
have been the only way you would have gotten the DLM.
Just a tip on if you want to install FF now that you have FP installed and IE8 is taken care of. Use the following link
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Using your FF browser.....
However, when you go to that install link above, uncheck the box if you don't want the Google Toolbar, then click on Different operating system or browser?, select your OS, continue, click on the circle "Flash Player 10 for Windows-other browsers,
uncheck the Google Toolbar if not wanted, agree and install now. Then Reboot.
Also, you might have less trouble Disabling all extensions, Add-ons, plug-ins in FF before installing. Then you can Enable
them afterwards. Some FF add ons are known to cause install problems.
Thanks for the Star:-) -
Firefox hangs for a few seconds when trying to pause videos or skip ads on Youtube.
Hello all!
My problem is that YouTube sort of hangs for a few seconds when I try to pause a video or skip ahead or skip ads. The video freezes while the audio keeps playing until, after say 5 seconds, youtube finally does what I tell it to do.
This doesn't happen if the video is embedded on a different website, nor does it happen on Vimeo, Dailymotion etc. I can play YouTube videos perfectly while using Chrome, IE and a Windows 8 Youtube app I have.
After the initial freeze all commands start working very well, at least until I open a new video.
I noticed that a lot of people are having trouble with youtube while using firefox and I've tried a few things:
- uninstalling and reinstalling flash and java
- starting Firefox in safe mode
- using different antivirus software
- reinstalling Firefox
I read that this might be a problem caused by the whole Google being all buddy-buddy with Adobe thing, but I'm skeptical.
So, is there any way to get YouTube to work properly?

Looking for forum points? Then you came to the right place! The more points I give out on this one, the better!
I've got a problem where ADS seems to hang and time out.
From ABAP (ECC 6.0), transaction SE38:
Program FP_TEST_00
Program FP_CHECK_DESTINATION_SERVICE
Hangs in FM HTTP_READ_SC "system-call plugin..."
From Java (NW04s):
Manager Self-Service -> Team -> Create New Personnel Change Request -> Edit Form
Read timed out
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.clientserver.adobe.pdfdocument.base.core.PDFDocumentRuntimeException: Failed to UPDATEDATAINPDF
The defaultTrace file (\usr\sap\<sid>\JC<inst>\j2ee\cluster\server<inst>\log) says this when it is hanging:
<b>Begin RenderAll CORBA call to XMLFormsModule
Initializing the CORBA XMLForm Module factory</b>
Any ideas? ADSUser seems to be set up fine. (Program FP_PDF_TEST_00 works fine from SE38.)
Although the "http://<server>:<port>/AdobeDocumentServices/Config" test returns a weird error:
Exception in method rpData.
I'm just not sure what to try next. I have been following the "Adobe Document Services Configuration Guide":
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/34/783241baebf323e10000000a155106/frameset.htmGot it!
I upgrade to ADSSAP 7.1:
Version 710.20061024154505.342190
Note 1072218
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes/sdn_oss_bc_wd/~form/handler
That seems to have solved the timeout problems, and things are rendered correctly now! -
Last night I aded a few plug-ins to block ads including Google's--after restarting my computer (Mac OS X 10.6.8), my firefox no longer opened, i.e. it hangs/freeze when I open it--I have tried to restart, open in safe mode, even deleted firefox altogether and downloaded a new version, to no avail! Please advise! I have been trying to revive Firefox for hours today--
Hey rumon,
Have you tried starting Firefox in Safe Mode? Hold down "option" while Firefox is starting up. If the crash doesn't happen in Safe Mode, you should read [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]].
There is also a lot of useful stuff in the [[Firefox crashes]] Knowledge Base article. If you've recently upgraded, you might want to check out [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/latest-firefox-issues#w_firefox-crashes-when-i-start-it this article] as well.
Hopefully this helps! -

ABhilashInstall ADS by guide. Check Installation by unsing the webservice.
If all is correctly configured try that:
Configtool -->Global Server Configuration > managers > ApplicationThreadManager --> MaxThreadCount
Set it at least set to 150. If you have also XI installed this number shall be 350 at least. -
Firefox hangs while loading pages.
When loading a new page (not always in a new tab, not always an additional tab or tabs, but it seems to happen more when opening multiple tabs) the little rotating circle will either remain dark and if an attempt is made to reload the location bar changes to new tab, losing the address in the location bar, or the rotating circle will go one way, then reverse, then continue to spin. At the bottom of the page where what is being loaded in a page shows it will hit on one thing (as I'm writing this in Chrome I'm loading a folder of bookmarks I've been loading daily for years that now is a nightmare and pages are stuck at "connected to ajax.googleapis.com," "connected to hell.myfonts.net," "waiting for dt.adsafeproteted.com," "connected to log.pinterest.com," "connected to cdn.syndication.twimg.com," "waiting for api.lanistaads.com," "waiting for www.projectwonderful.com," "transferring data from v4.moatads.com," "waiting for aax.amazon-adsystem.com," "connected to aax.amazon-adsystem.com," and the other three pages are stuck trying resolve the actual URL) and then refuse to go any further. After that the page will sit, unchanging, as best as I can tell forever. I've left a page loading for several hours while working and it was still connecting to googleanalytics when I came back. It does the same in safe mode. Not a single page in the book marked folder is loading, NOT ONE. They're all sitting and spinning either with blank pages or partially loaded. I will reiterate before someone suggests I not load so many pages at once that I've been loading this particular folder full of pages for at least five years and probably longer and it did not do this until the last month.
This has been going on for a while and has made Firefox worthless. It is getting worse. I have read every similar question and none of the answers has made a bit of difference.
I have tried safe mode.
I have refreshed Firefox.
I have uninstalled Firefox and installed the latest version.
I have cleaned my registry.
I have cleaned my cache (which was almost empty anyway).
I have deleted all temporary files that were not in use on my computer.
I have deleted the install folder in Programs(x86) and then reinstalled the latest version (this made everything even worse and resulted in no secured connections being available at all, including mozilla.org giving me not safe connection warnings so now Firefox is even less useful than before) and currently have no add-ons or themes installed.
I have run Spybot, Malwarebytes, Housecall, and several rootkit detectors with no luck.
This computer is less than a year old, is running Windows 8.1 and is up to date. I just installed Firefox v 37.0. When I went to look and see what the version was Firefox can't even seem to resolve its own update URL.

Experimental Features
---------------------I get an e-mail with go-comics and the ones I want to post links to I'll open in the browser as I read them in the e-mail so I regularly have a dozen tabs open (all the same site) by the time I'm through the e-mail. Every third or fourth page will hang up on something (connecting to or waiting for) sometimes not loading a single image, sometimes loading half the page, sometimes loading everything but the comic (because, hey, why put that as the first thing to load when you've got all these ads and crap to throw at your paying customers?).
At some point a couple of months ago I got some malware associated with trovisearch (I do not know how that got past security and java blocker but it did, probably some hidden crap in something from CNET) that somehow spoofed a page for Housecall and added five or six pieces of malware and adware. I cleaned for two days after and still can't find anything left on the computer even though I've been running scans constantly to try to make Firefox work right. I downloaded and ran a scan using Kaspersky during that time and then uninstalled it. That very well may be the cause of the post-refresh SSL issue.
I have Spybot and Malwarebytes scan logs from the time of the infection if that would help in any way. It doesn't look like there's a way to attach .xml files in this forum, though.
I can also run hijack this and copy and paste if that would help.
I'm currently running Windows Defender and rely on that and Noscript and adblocker plus to keep me isolated from most attacks (I don't have those add-ons re-installed yet). I also run Peerblock because they add malicious sites and known hacking sources (like Chinanet) to what they block as well as all the fake p2p stuff that's constantly pinging the computer. If I'm treading around in perilous waters I run Sandboxie.
Chrome is working as normal but Firefox feels like dial-up or worse right now and without adblocker I might as well be using IE. -
Unwanted Pop-up ads in all browsers
Hello, guys! This is my first post. I've had two Mac computers in my life and never really had any problems until yesterday.
I have a MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2013), Processor 1.3 GHz Intel Core i5 and Memory 4GB 1600 MHz DDR3 (I don't know what any of this means but its suggested info). I'm running OS Yosemite V.10.10.2, Safari V.8.0.3 and Chrome V.40.0.2214.115 (64-bit).
Anyway, since yesterday when I open certain webpages (not "serious" ones like Google or Facebook) I get layers of ads, mostly in Russian. I know they are not coming from the site because I've visited them before and it's always the same two ads, appearing on many sites. I'm also getting a pop-up ad from a "adultyum.info" site (very graphic ****). This happens on both Safari and Chrome, particularly when I click on a link or use the search bar.
First I checked for Adware using The Safe Mac's Adware Medic (it found nothing), then I checked with Bitdefender (found lots of Genieo, but they've been removed and the ads keep on appearing).
I've checked the Launch Agents folder, nothing seems amiss there. I couldn't open the Launch Daemons folder (Finder couldn't find it).
Then I installed the Adblock extension on Chrome. In general, the ads no longer show up but I got the **** pop-up once. Safari is another story, they all keep showing up, so my guess is it's something on my computer.
I figured out, since most of the ads are in Russian, that adware/malware was installed on my computer yesterday when I downloaded a torrent file from a Russian website: http://rutracker.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3763287 (DO NOT DOWNLOAD ANYTHING FROM THERE). Anyway, the torrent file didn't open and Transmission crashed. Now I'm getting these annoying and offensive ads and adware removal apps can't find the source.
Is this some sort of new trojan? Has this happened to you and do you know how to fix it?
Thanks a lot for your help!Hey!
I'm going to send the report to thomas_r. for analysis. And, as for Etrecheck, here it goes:

Browser hangs when an Adobe Interactive Form is
Hi Folks,
I'm fairly new to ABAP (< 1 year) and am in the process of creating my first Adobe Interactive Form. In fact it will be the first IFbA at our company, when I get done with it!
Here's the problem am facing: The Interactive Form that I'm building is called within an ABAP Web Dynpro application. If the displayType in the view is set to 'native', when the IFbA is called, the browser hangs and eventually shows the form after 5 full minutes. However, if it is set to 'activeX', it comes up with the form instantly. It does not matter what objects(WD activeX or native) I have on the form, It does the same thing.
Our System information:
SAP_Basis and SAP_ABA: 701 SP5
ADS: 802.20100902045248.720952
Adobe Reader 9
I've looked at the SAP Note 999998 and have pretty much done what they've asked for. But, have had no progress with it. I'm pretty much at my wits end. So, somebody please help?!
Thanks,
CSHi,
Goto the Layout,
Then goto Utilities->Insert WebDynproScript and Activate.
it will work.

Issue editing CS3 files in CS5, hangs ID forever, 100% processor
When opening or modifying CS3 files in CS5, ID will hang forever.
Specifically, we have documents that have complex advertiser approval objects on the slug area, many are grouped and have script labels. We have multiple objects on the pasteboard, about 7 layers, some locked some not, master page items, and guides, etc etc. The ads themselves are pretty complex, can be from 15 to 90+ text and image frames. We have many fonts per ad (can be 10+) and the computers have about 250 families of fonts.
When I open a CS3 file in CS5, if I option-drag an object on the page, or if I copy the main page contents to a new template (converted from CS3), and try to move or manipulate some items, ID locks up and must be force quitted once the beach ball starts. I have tried to let it run its course for up to 5 mins. The lockup has happened more on text boxes than images, but I can clearly see ID hesitating when copying/moving objects. I am watching a processor monitor and can see 1 of my cores ramps up to 100% and stays there until I force quit.
The only solution I have come up with is to convert the document to INX in CS3. Then open the INX in CS5, and then most manipulation seems OK with no hesitation and no beach ball. Copying/pasting/dragging/putting into a new document is OK then.
Opening documents directly in CS5 almost universally (except for the simplest "hello world" document) will cause CS5 to die upon manipulation.
Setup: 4 core Mac Pro, 4gb ram, OS X 10.6.4, CS3 and CS5 install; also tested/reports of same problem on iMac 24 and iMac (2010) 27s, OSX 10.6x.
I'd love to be able to send crash reports to Adobe, but I can't actually get a real crash. I keep getting the Apple force-quit reporter. Any way to send that to Adobe?
ChrisI need to find out why this is happening or our upgrade is gonna hit the rocks. Anyone from Adobe here to read this? I'll be happy to send docs over. I can still have this hang CS5 with documents even when exported to INX.
Here's an Apple force-quit log:

Youtube homepage causes browsers to hang (safari&firefox)
hey everyone, the youtube homepage (but not direct links to videos) and other sites (eventhubs.com) cause all of my browsers (which are updated to most recent release) to hang and pinwheel.
i don't get a crash report because they don't crash, just hang. i tried updating the browsers and reinstalling flash but it didn't help.
any suggestions?
thank you

Delete your browsers history & cache. Boot up from your install DVD and run *"Repair Disk"* from the Utility menu.
If that does not work.......................
Empty the trash!
Open up your application folder & go through all your apps. Trash all the apps you no longer want and/or use.
An easier way to do this is to open the Application folder in list view & press the Command+j keys.
In the the dialog that appears, click the "This Window Only" button & the "Calculate All Sizes" check box.
Wait a bit until your file & folder sizes have all been calculated, then click the "Size" column to sort your apps from the fattest to the most anorexic.
Get rid of all your photo files you don't want and/or need. Same goes for those pics off the websites you downloaded (gifs, jpegs, etc.).
Get rid of all your music files you no longer listen too. Especially, if you already have the actual CD/DVDs or you can later redownload from a website.
Use Spotlight to make sure you got rid of everything. You can even trash directly from Spotlight!
Drag what you don't want and/or need to the trash. Better yet, download this neat little shareware app demo called AppZapper. It basically does all the work for you by not only trashing the apps but the apps preference files, caches & all its associated files.
Another software that does the above is AppDelete. Best of all this software is free!
Burn what you want and/or need onto CDs or DVDs.
Not everyone has the luxury of purchasing an external HD and/or Mobile accounts to store their "stuff.”
You can check with your ISP to see if they offer free storage space. Most if not all do now-a-days.
There are thousands if not millions of free storage facilities on the web also. Use your favorite search engine to search them out as they come in different storage sizes to fit your needs & wants.
Check for duplicate fonts.
Applications>Font Book
Select “All Fonts”
If you see any “black dots” next to any fonts this mean you have duplicates and/or multiple versions of these fonts.
To clean this up, select a “black dotted” font or the Apple + click to select multiple dotted fonts;
Edit>Resolve>Duplicates.
What the above does is turns off the duplicates & multiple version fonts. Not delete them.
More than likely the “extras” were installed by other programs and/or other users.
Clear out font caches
Use FontNuke. It does all the work for you. And, best of all it’s FREE.
Printer Drivers
Get rid of all the printer drivers you don’t need & use except the ones for your current printer(s)/scanner(s).
HD>Library>Printers Folder
If you accidently threw something out that you needed for your printer/scanner it can be easily obtained from the manufacturer’s website and/or from the CD that came w/the printer/scanner.
Garage Band
Has about 1GB of loops stored. Get rid of some some them. You surely don’t use, like and/or need them all.
HD>Library>Audio/Apple Loops>Apple>Apple Loops For GarageBand
Or just get rid of the Garage Band app altogether if you don’t use it.
Get rid of extra languages
Strip your computer down to your “native” tongue.
You can do this with a FREE utility called Monolingual. Another app that apparently does all the work for you. I’ve never used it. However, a lot of users here swear by & recommend it highly.
However, there is a warning for *native English speakers*. Make sure you keep BOTH English and English (United States).
Other Resources:
HD Space Checkers:
Disk Inventory X (FREE)
WhatSize (SHAREWARE)
OmniDiskSweeper (FREE)
GrandPerspective (FREE - donation)
Slimming your hard drive
Rule of thumb: You should never let your hard drive get to where you have only 10-15% of space left.

Check out User Tips: Viruses, Trojan Detection and Removal
Viruses:
Are programs that earn their name by their ability to replicate themselves locally & often across a network. Many attach themselves to to other programs. When you launch one of these programs, the virus code launches as well & the virus goes about its nefarious business.
Viruses are exceedingly rare on the Mac. There are no known viruses for OSX.
Trojans:
Promises one thing but delivers another. You can download a program but when you run the program, the contents of your computer are instead beamed to an underground data center in Kamchatka. If you obtain software from reliable sites, you are unlikely to get a Trojan horse.
Adware:
Has an embedded advertising component - one that displays or downloads ads when you run the software. Some adware is legitimate, part of the price of using a free program such as the Iconfactory's Twitterrific or Eudora for example.
Spyware:
Grabs data from your computer & ofen uses it for the purposes of evil, sending personal info to a baddie or when you're using your web browser, redirecting you to site you don't want to visit.
Mac users have nothing to worry about regarding Spyware & Adware because in order for the worse forms to work, the OS must allow unrestricted access to its more sensitive parts. The Mac OS doesn't.

Greetings,
Try click2flash to block all Flash content unless you click on it to load it. -
Solaris 8 Intel scan hangs on Windows Sound System Compatable
I am trying to install Solaris on a Anigma Pentium II motherboard with integrated AGP/Audio/DVD, plextor CDRW, 40 gig maxtor ide hd new, unpartioned.....
when the sytem scans it keeps hanging on either "Windows Sound System Compatable" or "ADS Sound Blaster....I do not have a soundblaster card in this machine, it is on board sound......
cous anyone please point me in the right direction......I am new to Solaris, please help me get this installed.....
thanks, michaelJust an idea:
After installing the latest kernel + usb patches a system built around
an ASUS P2B showed similar behaviour: Soon after the screen is
cleared during the boot sequence the machine hung. Before installing
these patches the machine was running without problem.
The problem was a disabled USB IRQ in the bios setup. The system has
no USB peripherals connected, so the USB IRQ was disabled in the
BIOS (in an
attempt to free some IRQs - which is actually nonsense in a PCI
system; some old habit from good old ISA PCs). Re-enabling the
USB IRQ in the BIOS fixed the solaris boot problem. Probably the
solaris 8 USB drivers had detected the USB bus and started scanning
for devices there; and that hung the machine due to non working USB controller IRQs.
Maybe you have a similar problem... -

Can you try the following? I am not sure whether this will resolve your issue or not.
Did you activate the fp service from the SICF transaction?
If not, go to transaction SICF and execute and go to the below path.
<b>/default_host/sap/bc/</b> --> double click on service <b>fp</b>
In the fp service screen click CHANGE and go to Logon Data Tab
Enter Client ,User and Password and save it and Test it again.

InDesign CS5 hangs when opening large file
I just completed a 128 page business directory with lots of ads (mostly PDFs) supplied by others (some good some crappy). Anyway, I worked on the document over the past month and all was well. Placed images were scattered in different folders. Anyway, upon completion, I packaged the final version. After packaging the file, I can no longer open it without ID hanging or crashing. After it crashes I launch ID again and autorecovery opens the file just fine. I then resaved the file and even exported as an idml file (first couple of times I tried that I crashed as well). Then I tried to open the idml file -- it runs through all the image names in the file but then when it should launch nothing happens and ID hangs so I must force quit. I work on the directory each year so I need a copy I can work with. I can open other ID files just fine without crashing. Does anyone have any suggestions? I could post a crash report if anyone wants to evaluate it. (BTW I did try and trash preferences but that didn't seem to help either.)
Thanks
JeffHere are the links (if I did this correctly):
The Sample Process Link: http://pastebin.com/CWuQHNkw
The InDesign Crash Report: http://pastebin.com/TtjhSe7G
Jeff, yes, those are correct.
The first indicates that InDesign is stuck in font manipulation code, and the second is somewhat more precise about where:

Unfortunately, this signature is not consistent with either SING problems or problems with third-party font management tools, both of which have easy fixes.
The best we can say is probably "sounds like a corrupt font or group of conflicting fonts."
So, start by removing all non-system fonts and seeing if ID will open your document.
Assuming that works:
Then, divide the set of removed fonts in half and put half of the back -- see if it works.
If so, add another half set back, etc., etc. until you pinpoint the bad font.
