Advanced-balance and weighting

Hello,
I'd like to assign weights to services, but it says in the documentation that this works for weighted round-robin load-balance algorithm. will this work for an advance-balance scenario? i.e. will the config below work?

the way it works, is that the CSS tries to do an advanced-balance decision.
In your case, the CSS looks for a cookie ARPT=...
If this CSS can't make an advanced-balance decision (ie: there is no cookie) it will make a basic balancing decision.
This is where you can use a weight.
So, your config is good except that you didn't specify the basic loadbalancing method so the CSS will do roundrobin.
You need to configure something like 'balance weightedrr'

Hello,
I have setup load blancing on our web server, using a content rule and services, with Protocol tcp and any port.
I find that it will allow Https traffic through when the Advance Balance option is not enabled but i get a "server or DNS error" when i have A.B enabled.
My switch is the former Arrowpoint CS-100 software ver 3.02.

the type of "Advanced Balance" option selected is important. Note that the HTTPS traffic is encrypted so we can NOT do any advanced balance that needs to look at the payload (it's encrypted so the CSS can NOT see it). The "advanced-balance sticky-srcip" would work.
Cookies can't be used because they are encrypted,
SSL is not useful as IE will change the SSL session ID,
URL can't be used because it's encrypted.

CSS 11501 SSL and port 80 advanced-balance of cookies

I am trying to perform advanced cookie balancing with out pulling the cookie from the URL. The only cookie which is consistant is "ASP.NET_SessionId and it is not in the URL string.
Also, Can in parallel can I balance last connection? I need to set a round robin to keep site traffice balanced.

1. I take a string from the 30rd to 255 character out of the URL starting at "/".
2. Now I search for a string between "shop_Id=" and "_", on which the stickyness is based.
3. string "148.49" is allocated to service1, string "148.48" is allocated to service2.
Is there any possibillity to view or debug the handling, how the string is matched in the http request and on which service the request is forwarded ?

Opening Balances and Closing Balance of customer

Hi,
Does SAP provide any standard customer account statement for Opening Balances and Closing Balance for specific date range have given in selection screen?
The statement also contains reference number, order, and Delivery number.
Note: FBL5N Transaction code will not sufficient for the requirement, so looking for any other transaction code / report provided by SAP already for it.

There are several standard reports which could be easily accessed through the menu (Accounts Receivable - Information systems). If none of these reports does not suit your requirement, you have to develop your own.

House bank account balances and turnovers

Hello,
at our customer company we have configured few G/L accounts for multiple bank accounts - e.g. one for each house bank ID per local/foreign currency - so for each bank we have two G/L accounts configured. This works very well until we need to see the turnovers and opening and closing balances per each house bank account. Are there any alternative possibilities to see that in SAP apart from customizing a report from FEBKO and FEBEP tables?

Hi,
When you enter the transaction and select a statement or group of statements you can click on u201Cother displayu201D. Then you can see an ALV with all the entries in the statements you have selected. Opening Balance, closing balance and posting date are available in the ALV among many other fields.

Gl opening balance and closing balance not maching

am looking at IT12 balance, and the issue is that the GL 495000 into the TB is 8,670.68 While if I browse in Fagll03 the balance is 7,307.88
Can you please clarify with figure is wrong !!!!!! And why they do not match !!!!!!!!
IT12 is the COM. CODE
TB means trail balance acct
Fagllo3 is the T.code in 6.0 to view acct balances (behalf of FS10N)
This is my clint issue.can any body tell me procedure to solve

Total Payable, Balances and Information Elements in SOE

Hi All,
In the SOE report, I am unable to see Total Payable(difference of Total Earnings and Total Deductions), Balances and Information elements.
Can anyone please tell me how to get those in the SOE.

If you have configured the values at your BG - SOE Information/SOE Detail Information level properly, I don't see any reason why you cannot see it.
Just try adding different elements/balances and see if those are picked on the SOE.
If you still cannot get through, Please log an SR/contact oracle support.

Advantages of using a webserver inbetween a load balancer and application servers

I am building out a new weblogic domain.
I am wondering which one of these configuration to go with:
1. Load balancer > weblogic servers
2. Load balancer > web server > weblogic servers
Could someone tell me what are the specific advantages of having web servers inbetween a load balancer and application servers (besides caching static data content and acting as a proxy)?

Other than hosting the static content, nothing much really. We have our load balancer go straight to WL for applications without static content and route to web server if there is static content. Easy enough to do it both ways, best of both worlds.

Load balancing and RFC problem

I have a problem regarding load balancing and RFC's. We use the follow function in librfc32.dll (from VB6) for RFC calls: RfcOpenExt It's working fine no problem, but from now on we will have to use the this funcion due to load balancing: RfcOpenExtV3
The only difference between the two functions is the parameters. RfcOpenExtV3 has 5 additional parameters:
intLoadBalance1, strLbHost1, strLbSysName1, strLbGroup1, intSapGui1
I asked our tech guys for the details so that I can set up the parameters (double check everything) and the RfcOpenExtV3 doesn't working. Return value is zero.
Have somebody faced with this issue before?

I am to do a writeup on load balancing and NIC Teaming, is there any1 that knows what are the commonly used load balancing and NIC Teaming methods, when to use each method, and the advantages and disadvantages of each method and the configuration for each
method!

NIC Teaming - On a single server, you will have mutiple NIC. You can Team the NIC so that both NIC will act togather to provide better bandwidth and High avaliblity.
Example : NIC 1 - 1 GB and NIC -2 1 GB so in Team it can act a 2 GB single NIC, If one fails speed will be reduced but it will have HA
Loadbalancing : Two servers hosting same content:
Example : Microsoft.com can be hosted in two or even more servers and a loadbalancer will be used to split load to each server based of the current load and traffic.

Network Load Balancing and failover for AFP Sharing

Dear all,
Somebody kindly teach me to use round robin DNS to perform the network load balancing, it's success but not the failover.
I have 4 xserve and want to do the load balancing and failover at the same time.
I have read the IP failover document and setup it successfully, but anyone know is it possible to do the IP failover for more than 2 server?
For example, 4 server serving the AFP service at the same time, maybe I have 1 more extra server to do the IP failover for thoese 4 servers.
As I know, IP failover require Firewire as the heartbeat detection. But one xserve only have 2 firewire ports. May I setting up the IP failover only by a ethernet port and an IP address? does it possible to detect and failover to any server after server down has been detected?
I believe load balancer maybe the best solution but its cost is too high.

well, u have 2 options here
software load balancing
request comes it foo.com -> ws7u2 hosting foo.com is configured to run as reverse proxy . this server sends any incoming requests to one of the four back end web server 7 handling your incoming request
hardware load balancing (this you need to invest)
request comes to hardware load balancer who responds for foo.com -> sends requests to four ws7 server hosting your application
you could try out how software load balancing works out for you before you invest in hardware load balancing
here is more instruction on configuring ws7 + reverse proxy (software load configuration)
- install ws7 on foo.com
- create a new configuration (choose port 80, disable java

HTTP POST with advance balance cookies

Hello
I am trying to keep a session sticky for 20 mins based on cookies. The problem is the application is using HTTP POSTs and the balance method only looks into the HTTP GET. How can I get the CSS to look into the HTTP POST?
Any examples would be great.
