I have been using this onboard chip for a while and recently started having problems with it. I am using my home theater surround sound reciever with my computer
While playing Quake 4 I noticed some choppy static during gameplay. In my device manager I found a problem with "Creative sound font synth". I had to uninstall and re install my drivers which fixed the alert in device manager, however, my sound is still choppy with static.
Through the audio controll pannel preferences menu, I ran the possitional speaker tests and discovered that the rear channel sound is comming out of all the speakers at the same time.
The test shows a graphic of a 5. speaker setup with an orbiting indicator as to which speaker should be playing the sound. When the indicator passes over my front left, center and front right speakers I have no sound.
When it passes over my rear speakers, the test sound playes on all speaker at the same time.
Has anyone seen this problem? How can I fix this?

Frustrating since I have the Sigmatel drivers working fine (although this is on Vista x64).
I just wish I knew what the installer was validating. Unfortunately Im not an installshield expert, but there should be a way of getting an install log.
Perhaps someone from creative could oblige?

Oracle Forms 11gR2 - Cannot deploy locally from within Forms

I cannot deploy locally from within forms. The server is up and running and I can deploy the form by putting the correct URL in the address line of the browser window. When I try to deploy from within forms it comes up with some crazy URL that differs everytime.
This is what the URL should be and this works from the browser:
http://machinename:7002/forms/frmservlet?form=WRD608ADMIN_11g.fmx&userid=&otherparams=useSDI=yes
Here is one of the URLs it came up with when I try to run it from within Forms:

Localhost is always there, but the rest varies.
In Forms, I have the Preferences, Runtime set to:
http://machinename:7002/forms/frmservlet
Where machine name is my PC, it is the same for this address as the URL above that works directly from the browser.
So what am I missing?

Generally speaking, it is discouraged to manually edit any of the configuration files if they are managed by WLS Console or EM. In this case, default.env is managed by EM. Therefore, changes to the file should be done through EM. If however, you want to alter the file manually, the following is likely the best way to accomplish this:
1. Stop the WLS Admin Server and Node Manager
2. Locate the proper file you wish to edit. By proper I mean, there are several copies of most config files. Most of the config files found in the Oracle Home are actually template files and are not used at runtime. Altering these will not give you the change you want. The default.env you want would be here (assuming Windows)
C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\ClassicDomain\config\fmwconfig\servers\WLS_FORMS\applications\formsapp_11.1.2\config
If you are using a "Development" installation type, the above path will reflect AdminServer instead of WLS_FORMS. Remember that Development installations are not for multi-user purposes. Production deployments require the "Deployment" installation type, which can also include the Builders.
Do NOT make any changes yet.
3. Once you find the correct file, create a backup copy. Then open the file for edit (not the backup).
4. Make the desired changes and save.
5. Restart Node Manager and Admin Server if you plan to use them.

Manipuilate joins dynamically.

Hi All,
I would need an help on the query.
I have a table x and column a, b,c, y and z in them.I am joining this table with another table c
IF the column y is not NULL and if z='M' THEN I have to join table c with d
IF the column y is not NULL and if z='N' THEN I have to join table c with e
IF the column y is not NULL and if z='O' THEN I have to join table c with f
Can anubody help me in how to build this join in SQL level???

Generally speaking if you can use UNION(ALL)s for a table(or a view), it is easy to rewrite it with WHERE ... OR ... OR ...
For example:
SELECT select-list
FROM Table_x
WHERE some_predicates
UNION
SELECT select-list

WHERE somemore_predicates

5.1 speakers won't work with iTunes

I've got 5.1 speakers connected to my PC, but playback in iTunes only comes through the front left and right speakers. Does anyone know how I can resolve this? Thanks.

DVI - HDMI Output resolution

I have an 26" HDTV with a resolution of 1366x768. I would assume that the mbp 256mb graphics card should easily be able to output this. Unfortunately I have only been able to output at 1344x756 interlaced. Im using a DVI-HDMI cable to hook up the two. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get my mbp to output at 1366x768? Generally speaking, a Mac outputs video to an external display exactly according to what it is told to by the display. When a Mac is connected to a display, there is a "handshake" that takes place over a data line imbedded in the video cable and driver data, called EDID, is passed from the display to the Mac from which the Mac builds the required resolution "on-the-fly." If your MBP is sending 1344x756 to the TV, then that is likely what is being asked of it.
You can confirm if that is in fact true by installing SwitchRes X (I recommend SwitchRes X Control Panel over the full version of SwtichRes X) and clicking on the "Export DDC" button in the main SRX "Display" pane. The resulting text file is a dump of the driver data inside your TV and it will contain detailed timing under a heading Descriptor #0 that will show the first requested timing. Probably you will find it is 1344 x 756 interlaced.
If you want, you can try and build a custom native timing for your display. But then you face the question, why didn't the manufacturer do this in the first place? The answer to that question could be that the display won't run from a timing equal to the panel's native format. All I can say to that point is that manufacturers of TVs treat them differently when compared with their computer monitor brethren. It's possible that were you to build a custom, native timing, the TV might not work from it.
To build a custom timing, click on the Custom tab in SRX and then click on the "+" button to add a new timing. Type in 1366 for the Horizontal Active value and 768 for the Vertical Active value. Then click on the "Use simplified settings:" check box and in the associated pop-up select CVT. SRX will then fill in all the other boxes for you. Click OK and then follow the remaining istruction for saving and rebooting. Your new timing should then show up and become active and selectable. Good luck.

Silent import of Java Certificate in Jinitiator

We are trying to use the webutil in our application. When we configure the webutil and access the application for the first time, we get JRE Security Dialog.The problem is Security dialog is not getting focus and hides between other windows.
We would like to know whether we can import the certificate without user's response(in silent mode) or focus the JRE Security Dialog first time.

Generally speaking, the dialog cannot be avoided the first time. I recall a bug in the past which caused the problem you are describing. I would recommend upgrading to the latest version (which is 1.3.1.29). To the best of knowledge the problem does not occur in newer versions. This version is only available on Metalink under Patches.

Redhat 9 and Java studio enterprise 7

Did anybody install Java Studio Enterprise 7 with sun application server 7 on Red Hat 9.0 Linux.
If so do I need to set some special parameters in the environment ?

After going through Training and certification shop website of SAP what I could understand is there are 4 certifications available related to Project Management whose codes are given below:

My query is related to the above certifications based on the below points:
1. Auidance to do this course?

Frankly speaking (my opinion), if you are more inclined towards technology, you should not go in for management level certifications (You would prefer an OCM as your manager than a typical project manager who probably would not understand the technicalities of an issue).
Its not that these certifications do not help at all, they do. They will help you manage the activities around you but then you tend to drift away from the technology.
There would definitely be other views, I am sure. :)

Generally speaking one only sets the processes parameter, the sessions parameter will be automatically derive from the processes parameter.
However: each process constitutes a Windows thread.
You may be hitting the maximum number of threads for a Windows process (There is one Oracle process, and each dedicated server process is a thread).
What the maximum number of threads is I don't know, but I have never managed to have more than 200 processes.
You should investigate to convert to shared server.
Open_cursors refers to the number of SQL statements which can be opened by an individual session.

Adjusting Motion Template Media in Drop Zones in FCP

The Motion User's manual claims that you can adjust certain parameters of Drop Zone media in templates in FCP. I'll go to the template's Control tab in the Viewer and there are no options and I do not get a red cross-hair in the Canvas as t says I should.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Speaking off the top of my head, if you click on the drop zone then head over to the Inspector pane, there should be a well you can click and drag from to get rid of old content. Not sure why it should hang around though in the first place.

I have installed PT 8.52 and HCM 9.1 in my local.. But during my free time in office I want to learn functional HCM modules so I just want to make the PIA link available over the internet so that I can access from anywhere.
Please guide me how to do it..

Frankly speaking, that would be much easier to have an installation set onto one of your own computer (laptop/desktop), configuration of PIA over Internet can be very tricky and risky especially to bypass/configure the company firewall just a your own training.
That said, if you get the authorization from your company to do it, the "easiest" way to do what you are trying to achieve would be to have a DMZ where a PIA is running in, this PIA would point to the in-house AppServer within very specific port/security level.

I am working with JDEV 10.1.2.1 and deployed a war file on OAS10g 10.1.2.1..
I believe JDEV was able to deploy the war file bec of the oc4jdcmservlet.ear (via DCM ) which is on the server side.
can anyone explain to me the process behind this?what does this sevlet do?

Roughly speaking, this servlet exposes via HTTP methods, the deployment API used by DCM -- it runs where on the application server instance where DCM is available. It basically allows you post an archive to deploy, some meta-data (name, etc.) which it then saves locally and deploys via DCM.
If you look at the JDeveloper log window when you deploy to an OAS 10.1.2 instance, you'll see the messages it returns that indicates it is operating.
There's a few blogs around that describe how to use it, do a quick search and you'll find them.

Licensing and other cost questions.

I'm a layman at the licensing thing, we are a publishing company looking at publishing our material digitally and want to create a custom reader.
Clearly Adobe DPS is the best way to go for this, since our content is all created in Adobe inDesign.
What I want to find out is what is the total additional costs required to be able to have our own reader that publishes to andriod ipad and desktop?
Are there annual licensing fees? Are there royalty costs for our material?

No audio when playing mov files in WinXp SP2

My quicktime 7.1 will not play any sound and Freezes up.
I've set audio to safemode and video to to safemode,
still no audin in playback.

My Quicktime movies didn't freeze although I had
NO Sound with Quicktime's movies made with our camera.
solution:
Open your Quicktime movie.
Click; Edit
Click; Preferences
Click; Quicktime Preferences
Click; Audio
under Devices Click; Select Audio Playback and Recording Devices
under Sound playback Click; Advanced
under Speaker setup Click; Quadraphonic or the, stereo speaker choices
(do not pick any of the Suround Sounds, 5.1, 7.1, or no speakers)
You must close your Quicktime movie to reset it.
Open the same movie or another one that wasn't working and listen for sound.
If still no sound, follow this list back to Speaker setup and put it back where it was.

HSRP groups / Limit of 32 reached

Sorry in advance, I speak English with difficulty...
I have a problem with my network core: The limit of 32 groups is reached.
But I have only 32 standby IP address in the group 0...
The message "% More than 32 standby groups not supported in this platform" appeared...
At the moment, I'll create the others groups on others network core, but this solution is temporary.
My network cores: WS-C3750G-12S-S
iOS : 12.2(35)SE5 IPBase
So, I have two questions for you please :
Actually in IPBase version, if I will upgrade my switchs with IPService version, is it solved the problem ? is the iOS "IPService" support more than 32 groups ?
Is there an other solution to ensure failover that works like HSRP ? (VRRP ? how many groups are supported ?)
Any other issue or idea is welcome...

The maximum amount of 32 instances is the same for HSRP, VRRP and GLBP this is a hardware limitation not a matter of a IOS feature set. That said even if you upgrade to ipservices the amount of groups will not be higher.
