AEBS gigabit fw 7.6.1 randomly slows from 1000mbps to 100mbps

Admittedly, I have tons of home network traffic (mostly wired).  My MBP is wired to my AEBS, which is in turn routed to my 1000mbps Netgear router (FVS318G).  The router uses light combinations to show port speeds, and usually all of them are at 1000mbps.  Every few days, however, I see my AEBS port light change to 100mbps, and file transfer speeds corroborate the performance drop.  I've tried resetting both routers, DNS and everything else I can think of, and this keeps happening.
Sometimes, for large volume transfers, I get part of the way and an unexpected error occours.  That's not the end of the world and I'm not sure if it's related.
I'm just getting very tired of power cycling my whole network every 2 days, anybody know what may be causing this or what a fix may be?

The cables are fine, they are fairly new CAT 6 cables terminated with keystone jacks.  I did do them myself, but no other devices using this cable have the same slowdown.  No matter which of my several CAT 6 runs I have the AEBS plugged into, the same issue occours.
I'm not positive about it, but I don't recall this being an issue before the upgrade to 7.6.1 to use iCloud.
I'm wondering if somehow all the wireless activity through the AEBS (iPhones, iPads, Kindle, etc...) are having an adverse effect at all.

  • Random Slow Boot Ups

    Hi forum members,
    I have been using Windows 7 64 Bit ultimate for almost 2-3 months. I have noticed this strange slow boot ups(randomly once in 3 or 4 days) during cold boot or restart. The system seems to hang up at the Windows 7 splash screen, but on the contrary its not hanged. The system is taking its own sweet time to boot up to the start up screen.
    During a normal boot up my Razer Lycosa and Lachesis backlights would go off for few seconds and lights up as soon windows 7 start up screen appears. But during the random slow boots I have noticed that the backlight of Razer Lycosa stays on for 2-3 mins before Windows 7 start up screen appears. Another strange thing that I've noticed was the ticking sound on my Logitech Clearchat USB headset during the random slow boot. The ticking sound appears every 3 seconds during the slow boot. What could be the problem guys? Is it because of Hardware or corrupt system files. FYI, I have Razer Lachesis, Lycosa, HP 3500 Deskjet Printer and Logitech USB Headset connected to the USB ports. Logitech USB headset is connected to the USB port of Razer Lycosa.
    I have recently flashed my MOBO to see if it was because of the BIOS, but the problem persists even after flashing.
    Any suggestions members. I would really appreciate your help on this.
    My system specs,
    Intel Core i7 920 2.66
    MSI X58 Pro SLI ( BIOS Version 8.A)

    2 x 1 TB Seagate SATA II

    Thanks for the reply Henry. Well I am trying that but as I have mentioned in the POST the problem happens very randomly, like once in 4 days. Funny after posting this thread the system is running fine. I am determined to find the cause of this. I am planning to do couple of cycles of reboot today to determine if its the hardware issue(USB). What can be the other problems apart from the USB issues??

    Look at the more like this column on the right.. this is the most frequently asked question in this discussion area.
    Reboot the TC.. restart the whole network if the simple reboot did not work.. start in order. modem.. router/TC.. clients. 2min gap.

  • AEBS gigabit as router keeps crashing.

    I have been using my AEBS gigabit version as a switch and wireless access point for weeks with no problems at all. Now I am using as my router. I only have 2 macs connected to it.
    The problem now is that find that my internet connection has gone down every couple of days. however when I launch the airport utility it says no base station found. If I try ping the IP of the base station I get no route to host.
    The solution is to powercyle the base station. This is not acceptable as I use my network for commercial and private reasons.
    I have now found out when the base station fails. It is when my incoming connection of 20megabits per second is maxed out and I have a large number of outgoing connections. The base station just stops routing. It still shows a green light however. This would suggest that the base station does not have enough processing power to handle an incoming connection like this as well as routing and NAT traversal.
    My linksys wrt54g router cant handle a 20 megabit incoming connection either.
    This is unfortunate as the base station works so well in other ways.
    Has anyone else come across this? or may have a solution.
    My long term plan is to build a robust linux router.

    Hi Tim Haigh-
    Sounds like you are getting too deep.
    You have a malfunctioning base station that is covered under warranty. Time to use it!

  • My phone will randomly disconnect from the wifi and when I retype the password it says it is wrong. It will eventually work but I have to wait for a message to pop up on my screen to allow me to retype the wifi password.

    When I first got my phone it worked perfectly fine with the wifi. Although later on I began to have problems connecting it. It will randomly disconnect from the wifi and when I try to retype the password it tells me it is wrong, although it is right. It will eventually work but in its own time, a message will pop up and allow me to type in the password and it will work. But sometimes it takes an hour or more and sometime it takes 10 minutes. I've seen where other people have had this problem but I don't know how to fix it. I'm not sure if it's an issue with my phone or if it's with my wifi. Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Does this happen with all Wi-Fi hotspots?  A specific one?
    Have you tried forgetting the Wi-Fi connection and then reconnecting to it?
    What about power cycling the Wi-Fi router?

  • Reading a Random Line from a Text File

    Hello,
    I have a program that reads from a text file words. I currently have a text file around 800KB of words. The problem is, if I try to load this into an arraylist so I can use it in my application, it takes wayy long to load. I was wondering if there was a way to just read a random line from the text file.

    I thought that maybe serializing the ArrayList might be faster than creating the ArrayList by iterating over each line in the text file. But alas, I was wrong. Here's my code anyway:
    class WordList extends ArrayList<String>{
      long updated;
    WordList readWordList(File file) throws Exception{
      WordList list = new WordList();
      BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new FileReader(file));
      String line = null;
      while ((line = in.readLine()) != null){
        list.add(line);
      in.close();
      list.updated = file.lastModified();
      return list;
    WordList wordList;
    File datFile = new File("words.dat");
    File txtFile = new File("input.txt");
    if (datFile.exists()){
      ObjectInputStream input = new ObjectInputStream(new FileInputStream(datFile));
      wordList = (WordList)input.readObject();
      if (wordList.updated < txtFile.lastModified()){
        //if the text file has been updated, re-read it
        wordList = readWordList(txtFile);
        ObjectOutputStream output = new ObjectOutputStream(new FileOutputStream(datFile));
        output.writeObject(wordList);
        output.close();
    } else {
      //serialized list does not exist--create it
      wordList = readWordList(txtFile);
      ObjectOutputStream output = new ObjectOutputStream(new FileOutputStream(datFile));
      output.writeObject(wordList);
      output.close();
    }The text file contained one random sequence of letters per line. For example:
    hwnuu
    nhpgaucah
    zfbylzt
    hwnc
    gicgwkhStats:
    Text file size: 892K
    Serialized file size: 1.1MB
    Time to read from text file: 795ms
    Time to read from serialized file: 1216ms

  • How can i get the random values from database?

    Hi,
    i want to get random values from database.
    I try my best find no solution
    plz give solution in either sql query or java method.
    thanks in advance.

    try this:
    Give a numeric row-id to each row of database.
    say (1-100) for 100 rows
    In the program use random function to get random number between 0 and 1. this value u multiply with 100(or total number of rows) and take integer value of it . u then perform sql query to select the a row which matches randomly genarated value with row-id assigned to each row of database

  • Safari on iPad Air 2 flashes random pages from history

    iPad Air 2 64GB WiFi running 8.1.3
    When I open Safari, a random page from my history (usually from days or weeks ago) flashes on the screen for 1/2 second and then shows the current webpage.
    I've cleared History and Website Data in Settings>Safari. Still does it. Safari even flashes pages that should have been cleared In that process!
    I then restored the iPad as a new device through iTunes. Still does it.
    I've had the iPad since November. It never did this until January. Hopefully the next iOS update will take care of it. Very annoying.

    Forgot to mention- this happens upon launching Safrari from either a "quit" state or "background" state.

    After upgrading to yosemite my macbook pro late 2011 does a random sound from time to time. Its completely random and i already checked all apps in use and its not from them.

    Sounds like Notifications app.
    Maybe some other app. In SystemPreferences->Users&Groups->LoginItems tab: remove all entries with the minus sign underneath. This will not uninstall anything, you have to start those apps by hand now. Restart.
    Still there?
    Yes: Restart again while holding the shift key, this will start the mac in SafeMode: only the necessary items are loaded to run.
    Still there?
    Yes: Make an etrecheck list and post it here.
    No: Restart, put the items in the LoginItems back, one by one, restart after each entry, and you will find the "culprit"
    Please report accordingly. I will be back in 24 hours.

  • How can you generate Multiple random numbers from 1 to 49?

    I am very new at programming with the iPhone SDK and I need some help with a project I am working on. What I want to do is set up a window with 6 labels and 1 button. When the user clicks the button, the program will populate 6 randomized numbers each ranging from 1 to 49, and then place each of 6 numbers in a label. But each time the program ends and starts again the numbers cannot be the same, and also when the user clicks the button, no label can have the same number twice, so for example. If label 1 had the number 10, the other 5 labels cannot have that number until the button is clicked again. I know how to set up the interface, I just need the code. I would so greatly appreciate someone's help in this matter. I have been trying to do this for days and I cannot figure it out. Possibly someone who knows tons about Objective C programming can help me!
    Thank-you so very much!!

    I see that you're writing a lottery number generator. Perhaps the easiest way to do it is to emulate a real lottery: fill an array (NSMutableArray, probably) with the numbers between 1 and 49, pick one at random, remove that number from the array, and repeat. (You can think of the numbers as being the balls and the array as being the machine that pops them out.)
    One simple way to get the random indices needed is to extract six random bytes from Randomization Services using SecRandomCopyBytes, then loop over them, using the modulo operator (%) to select an index within the size of the array.
    And no, I'm not going to write your code for you. If I was going to do that, I could package and sell the app myself.

  • Random selection from a list

    I’m setting up a multiple-choice question, and I want to re-arrange the position of the button sprites representing the correct answer and distractors.
    I can randomly select one of the sprites via gDistractorLoc = random(4). The random function fails me after that.
    Is there a means of randomly selecting one of the entries from a list, e.g. gDistractorList = [1, 2, 4] or [1, 4]?
    I realize that I am perhaps complicating the process, and I'd be grateful for a simpler approach.

    I don't know if this is simpler or not, but here is a method for grabbing a random item from a list:
    gDistractorList = [1, 2, 4]
    put gDistractorList.getAt(random(gDistractorList.count))

  • IPod Classic Randomly Disconnects from Car Stereo

    I have a 160GB iPod Classic that is hooked up to my car stereo. Previously it was connected to a 2012 Kia Sorento SX and it would just randomly disconnect from the stereo and freeze. The only way to get it back was to do a hard reset (menu/select button held down), then start playing a song, and then connecting to the stereo. It didn't happen frequently, but maybe once or twice a month.  Annoying.  But I thought it had to do with the way Kia implemented the connection to the iPpd.
    I just recently acquired a 2014 Acura MDX and I've already had that same annoying problem twice in 2 days. So now I'm starting to think maybe it's the iPod.
    In the past, I've done a full restore, repaired the drive, etc. Nothing seemed to help.
    Any ideas?  Thanks!!

    Sometimes this works. Otherwise you will have to wait for an updte to the car system or the iOS on the iPod
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset the car system
    - Reset all settings
    Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
    All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
      - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Selecting random values from an array based on a condition

    Hi All,
    I have a small glitch here. hope you guys can help me out.
    I have an evenly spaced integer array as X[ ] = {1,2,3, ....150}. and I need to create a new array which selects 5 random values from X [ ] , but with a condition that these random values should have a difference of atleast 25 between them.
    for example res [ ] = {2,60,37,110,130}
    res [ ] = {10,40,109,132,75}
    I have been thinking of looping thru the X [ ], and selecting randomly but things look tricky once I sit down to write an algorithm to do it.
    Can anyone think of an approach to do this, any help will be greatly appreciated ...

  • Wifi randomly disconnects from my macbook pro running 10.9.2.

    Wifi randomly disconnects from my macbook pro running 10.9.2.  Rebooting is necessary to regain the wifi connection.  The wifi power indicator indicates a full connection, but the card sees no wifi networks. I have renamed the location, deleted and reinstalled the wifi interface, moved the wifi inerface to the top, and reset the DNS.  This problem is continual and occurs with all wifi spots.   Please help.

    It seems that the wifi on the computer shuts off and will not turn on until the computer has been rebooted.  Can someone poease help?
