Af:query working incorrectly in case of Match Any

Hi,
i am working on Oracle Jdeveloper 11g Release 1
I am facing an issue with my adf query which is based on VO Criteria. The jspx block for query is:

                  queryListener="#{viewScope.rule_librarybean.processQuery}"

  </ViewCriteria>The query works fine when i select Match All radio button.
But when i select Match Any radio button and click search it gives me incorrect search.
As per my understanding Any will give union of multiple column search results, for example if i search for Column1= "ABC" and get 5 results and if i search Column2="XYZ" and get 3 results , if i select Match Any radio Button i hall get a union of both results.
But in my case if one of the column used for search is a drop down selection and other column is a normal text box i am not getting correct results the results are only shown for dropdown search and the text box results are not shown.
Can anyone suggest what am i missing here?

no ignore null values field is checked.
Can anyone suggest what am i missing?

  • The parameter name [...] in the query's selection criteria does not match..

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to pratice EJB 3 (which I learnt at school), with JSF and JPA, but i'm really stuck with that error :
    Exception [TOPLINK-6094] (Oracle TopLink Essentials - 2.0 (Build b41-beta2 (03/30/2007))): oracle.toplink.essentials.exceptions.QueryException
    Exception Description: The parameter name [departmentID] in the query's selection criteria does not match any parameter name defined in the query.
    Query: ReadAllQuery(oracle.datamodel.Employees)
    I will try to explain clearly what i'm trying to do :
    In fact, i'm following that tutorial :
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe1013jdev/10131/ejb_and_jpa/master-detail_pagewith_ejb.htm
    But, as i didn't have any oracle database, but had a mysql one on my machine, i decided to use that DB instead of the the oracle DB... So i created a set of example data (to replace the oracle example set) ...so i created the tables EMPLOYEE, and DEPARTMENT... with the correct relations (FK) and PK)
    All was ok, i choose my "mysql-connector" (jdbc) instead of the oracle jdbc connector... so i could follow the tutorial.
    My problem appears at the step 12 (of "Creating a Master-Detail JavaServer Faces Page"), when i run the file deptEmployees.jspx.
    The information of the first departement displays correctly :
    departmentID 1
    departmentName ... etc
    but it can't display the employees belonging to that department !
    the error is :
    JBO-29000: Exception Description: The parameter name [departmentID] in the query's selection criteria does not match any parameter name defined in the query. Query: ReadAllQuery(oracle.datamodel.Employees)
    I think i understand what is the problem... I think that the query in charge of gathering the data of a specific departement need a parameter, but couldn't find it. But i don't know why :-/ I have tried many things and read the topics talking about that error... but it didn't solved the problem. I don't know anymore where to investigate.
    I have created a Zip file of my work (it's an EJB/JSF Application.. with jdev 10.1.3.3.0)
    (available here : http://dl.free.fr/mQ5esdQuS/EJB_appli.zip)
    I would be glad if someone could take few minutes to help me.
    Thank you in advance,
    Thomas B (student)

    Hello,
    This is a common mistake. Java string comparisons in TopLink are case sensitive by default, and since column names are uppercase when defaulted, TopLink cannot find the "departmentID" column name. In this case, Departments ID column defaults to "DEPARTMENTID" as required by the JPA specification.
    Either change Departments id annotation to     @Id
        @Column(name="departmentID", nullable = false)
        private Integer departmentID;or change Employees' ManytoOne annotation to:
        @ManyToOne
        @JoinColumn(name = "departmentID", referencedColumnName = "DEPARTMENTID")
        private Departments departments;Best Regards,
    Chris

  • Addition of Key Figures in Query Produces incorrect Results

    Hi,
    I have a query with a globally defined structure of Restricted Key Figures. These are mainly G/L Account Balances from R/3.
    When I create a global Calculated Key Figure the sum is incorrect (ie does not match R/3) despite the fact that the individual restricted key figures match perfectly.
    The only inconsistency is one or 2 of the RKF's are + ve in R/3 but - ve in BW.
    Would really appreciate some help on this.
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi All,
    Thanks for your replies.
    Paul B - I tried your recommendation and it did not work. I only set the result to summation nothing else.
    Bjorn - I tried what you said but that didnt work either.
    Venkat - I thought about this but I have about 30 + Calculated Key Figs and over 100 Restricted Kfs and a fair amount have -ve signs. Do I have to do this for all ?

  • SQL query works in access 2000 but not through JDBC

    Hello to all as my first posted message, I have a bit of a pickle on my hands. I have a query which is critical to for my application to function.
    In Access 2000
    SELECT sb.SeatName
    FROM SeatBooking sb, Movie m, MovieSession ms, Booking b
    WHERE m.MovieId = ms.MovieId
    AND ms.MovieSessionId = b.MovieSessionId
    AND b.BookingId = sb.BookingId
    AND ms.DateOfSession = #2003/04/16 07:15:00 PM#;
    This query works fine. When I insert it into my code
    String query = "SELECT sb.SeatName \n" +
    "FROM SeatBooking sb, Movie m, MovieSession ms, Booking b \n" +
    "WHERE m.MovieId = ms.MovieId \n" +
    "AND ms.MovieSessionId = b.MovieSessionId \n" +
    "AND b.BookingId = sb.BookingId \n" +
    "AND ms.DateOfSession = #" +
    cp.getMovieSessionAt(i).getTrueTimeOfSession() + "#;";
    The last line of code returns #2003/04/16 07:15:00 PM#; Which is the exact same as in Access.
    To rule out some possibilities
    - there are other less complicated queries which access the same database but work fine. so my code seems to be ok
    - I have tried to use Format() on ms.DateOfSession to match the return value of the java statement (Which is a general date in Access in the format of 16/04/2003 7:15:00 PM)
    Any suggestions would be appreciated!

    Hi Simon,
    On my Windows XP system with J2SE SDK version 1.4.1_02 and Micro$oft Access 2002, I have the following table:

    the issue has already been identified: in oracle versions prior to 11, there was an implicit conversion of numbers to characters. your database has a character field which you are attempting to compare to a number.
    i.e. the string '000001' is not in any way equivalent to the number 1. but Oracle 10 converts '000001' to a number because you are asking it to compare to the number you have provided.
    version 11 doesn't do this anymore (and rightly so).
    the issue is with the bad code design. you can either: use characters in the predicate (where field = 'parameter') or you can do a conversion of the field prior to comparing (where to_num(field) = parameter).
    I would suggest that you should fix your code and don't assume that '000001' = 1I don't think that the above is completely correct, and a simple demonstration will show why. First, a simple table on Oracle Database 10.2.0.4:
    CREATE TABLE T1(C1 VARCHAR2(20));
    INSERT INTO T1 VALUES ('1');
    INSERT INTO T1 VALUES ('0001');
    COMMIT;A select from the above table, relying on implicit data type conversion:
    SELECT
    FROM
      T1
    WHERE
      C1=1;
    C1
    1
    0001Technically, the second row should not have been returned as an exact match. Why was it returned, let's take a look at the actual execution plan:
    SELECT
    FROM
      TABLE(DBMS_XPLAN.DISPLAY_CURSOR(NULL,NULL,NULL));
    SQL_ID  g6gvbpsgj1dvf, child number 0
    SELECT   * FROM   T1 WHERE   C1=1
    Plan hash value: 3617692013
    | Id  | Operation         | Name | Rows  | Bytes | Cost (%CPU)| Time     |

    |*  1 |  TABLE ACCESS FULL| T1   |     2 |    24 |     2   (0)| 00:00:01 |
    Predicate Information (identified by operation id):
       1 - filter(TO_NUMBER("C1")=1)
    Note
       - dynamic sampling used for this statementNotice that the VARCHAR2 column was converted to a NUMBER, so if there was any data in that column that could not be converted to a number (or NULL), we should receive an error (unless the bad rows are already removed due to another predicate in the WHERE clause). For example:
    INSERT INTO T1 VALUES ('.0001.');
    SELECT
    FROM
      T1
    WHERE
      C1=1;
    SQL> SELECT
      2    *
      3  FROM
      4    T1
      5  WHERE
      6    C1=1;
    ERROR:
    ORA-01722: invalid numberNow the same test on Oracle Database 11.1.0.7:
    CREATE TABLE T1(C1 VARCHAR2(20));
    INSERT INTO T1 VALUES ('1');
    INSERT INTO T1 VALUES ('0001');
    COMMIT;
    SELECT
    FROM
      T1
    WHERE
      C1=1;
    C1
    1
    0001
    SELECT
    FROM
      TABLE(DBMS_XPLAN.DISPLAY_CURSOR(NULL,NULL,NULL));
    SQL_ID  g6gvbpsgj1dvf, child number 0
    SELECT   * FROM   T1 WHERE   C1=1
    Plan hash value: 3617692013
    | Id  | Operation         | Name | Rows  | Bytes | Cost (%CPU)| Time     |
    |   0 | SELECT STATEMENT  |      |       |       |     2 (100)|          |
    |*  1 |  TABLE ACCESS FULL| T1   |     2 |    24 |     2   (0)| 00:00:01 |
    Predicate Information (identified by operation id):
       1 - filter(TO_NUMBER("C1")=1)

    INSERT INTO T1 VALUES ('.0001.');
    SELECT
    FROM
      T1
    WHERE
      C1=1;
    SQL> SELECT
      2    *
      3  FROM
      4    T1
      5  WHERE
      6    C1=1;
    ERROR:
    ORA-01722: invalid numberAs you can see, exactly the same actual execution plan, and the same end result.
    The OP needs to determine if non-numeric data now exists in the column. Was the database characterset possibly changed during/after the upgrade?

  • A In-line view query works with 8.1.6 but returns ORA-1008 with 8.1.7

    Hello Gurus,
    The following query works fine with 8.1.6 but returns
    ORA-1008: not all variables bound
    with 8.1.7.
    Here is the query:
    SELECT y.node_id , y.parent_node_id
    FROM ( SELECT x.node_id
    ,x.parent_node_id
    FROM ( SELECT a.node_id
    ,a.parent_node_id
    FROM xor_hs_base_details a
    WHERE a.node_id <>
    a.parent_node_id
    AND a.base_id=1
    ) x
    CONNECT BY PRIOR x.node_id =
    x.parent_node_id
    START WITH x.parent_node_id = 1
    ) y
    WHERE y.node_id IN ( SELECT node_id
    FROM xor_hs_transactions
    WHERE hierarchy_id = 1
    AND created_by
    = 'system'
    AND committed_on IS NULL
    Any ideas??
    TIA.

    After having a closer look at metalink it seems to be obvious, that Forms 6i (8.0.6.) only supports user exits generated with the 8.0.6. precompiler.
    If this is the case new questions follow:
    Is there a way to get a 8.0.6. precompiler?
    Is it possible to connect to a 8.1.5. database with such a user exit? Does anybody have corresponding experiences?
    Our customer uses a 8.1.7. database. What about connecting to that database with the user exit?

  • Query working from sqldeveloper but not from aspx

    Hello,
    Well Im working on an application that has different queries that involve characters such as áéíóú // ÁÉÍÓÚ // ñÑ. Now the problem is that the query works just fine coming from sqldeveloper or toad but when it's called from an aspx file it returns no rows. Any idea why this might be? It only happens when the query has at least one of the above mentioned characters.
    Here you can see an example:
    SELECT DISTINCT N_DOCUMENTO FROM PROCESOS_METODOLOGIAS WHERE "LINEA DE NEGOCIO" = 'PRODUCCIÓN' AND N_DOCUMENTO IS NOT NULL ORDER BY N_DOCUMENTO ASC;I managed to "bypass" it by using LIKE for the time being
    SELECT DISTINCT N_DOCUMENTO FROM PROCESOS_METODOLOGIAS WHERE "LINEA DE NEGOCIO" LIKE '%PRODUCCI%' AND N_DOCUMENTO IS NOT NULL ORDER BY N_DOCUMENTO ASC;But I'm sure there's a solution for that. Any hints would be greatly appreciated.
    PS: Query from aspx is made with reference 10g to version 11g on server.

    Just as I finished osting this, I found out that the problem was ust that, working with the 10g reference on the 11g server version. in case anyone needs that...

    Hi,
    I have exactly, exactly!! thesame annoying problem you have or had. I don't know what to do and i am reallyfrustrated with the dumb limited inside the box solutions offered to me. It'slike if you have a problem with your ipod or iphone you can either restore it,uninstall/reinstall itunes and thats pretty much it. I am sorry but that isjust f***** up.
    anyway, regardless to all that,i was wondering if you had any success in solving this problem (something otherthan using a different computer which oddly enough seemed to work for somereason..?? why???, weird) since April.
    I am on the edge of givingup.
    thank you in advance.

  • I've moved my Aperture library to another computer, and masters are referencing an old path name.  How can I update these references?  Reloctating masters does not work in this case :(

    I've moved my Aperture library from one computer to another using Finder.
    I merged the library with one which was already on the computer.
    Now, the photos I imported have reference to the old path name on my old computer.
    How can I update these references as "Relocate Masters" does not work in this case?

    Just one suggestion to be able to reconnect all at once:
    Create a smart album containing the images with missing masters:
    File -> New ->  Smart Album,     and add a rule: File Status is "Missing"     (or File Status is "offline")
    Then select the images in this album and go to the File menu:
    and select:   File -> Locate referenced File
    If you are lucky, Aperture will reconnect all at once, if you point the first image version to its counterpart.

  • Query works fine in DEV instance but not in PROD instance

    Hi,
    I got an exceptional situation. I wrote a query to get the sign-on audit information. The query works fine in Development instance and executes within 2 seconds. But if i run the same query in production instance it does not finish execution. I checked for around 2 hours and after that i just stopped it. Does any one have any idea to find about the problem like to check temporary table space or any other thing please let me know. so that i can suggest the DBA to check for those parameters.

    I am using Oracle SQL Developer 2.1.1.64
    I am missing TOAD so much. My current organization dont have license to use TOAD.
    Regards,

    If your compnay does not have a Toad License, then you can use OracleSqlDeveloper.
    Its free to use and made by Oracle.
    You should post a query execution plan
    explain plan for <your sql_statement>
    and then issue this command:
    select * from table(dbms_xplan.display());It's best if you spool the output through sqlplus and then post it up here.
    I see you are using Sqldeveloper. The latest release is 3.2 which was only released within the last month.

  • Query works in DB GUI, but not in CF

    Hello,
    I keep getting a CF error of "invalid character" for the
    attached query.
    Detailed error message: [Macromedia][Oracle JDBC
    Driver][Oracle]ORA-00911: invalid character
    I realize that's an Oracle error code, but the query works in
    an Oracle db GUI (Toad).
    Has anyone experienced this kind of situation?
    Thank you.

    I've never tried using DDL in a CFQUERY myself with an Oracle
    db, but you might try putting the entire statement inline (as in a
    single line), rather than breaking it out like you did. It would be
    hard to read, but it might parse better....... just a thought. I've
    had similar problems with EXECUTE statements within a CFQUERY that
    worked just fine when I rewrote them with no line breaks, etc.
