Afaria - Relay Server - ios enrollment

Hello
I have successfully enrolled and pushed down policies to ios devices using a vpn and afaria server (NO relay server)
Now I want to add in the relay server so no VPN is required.
I have set up the relay server and carried out all the checks and it is connected up to the afaria server.
e.g.
http://......./ias_relay_server/server/rs_server.dll
http://....../ias_relay_server/client/rs_client.dll
I can access the above and see
Overall availability: Full
I know have some questions on configuration of the afaria client for use with the relay server.
1. What url should be used for Address for Device communication? Previously I used xnet://..(afaria server url)... for direct access from the devices to the afaria server. Do I need to change this to xnet://..(relay server url)...
2. For ios we need ssl on the relay server,
I have created a certificate for use with SSL on the afaria server using a certificate authority I setup on the same machine as the afaria server.
Can I use the same process to create a certificate for the relay server to use?
Thanks
Andrew

Yes, you can use the same CA to issue a new cert to "relayserver.domain.com" and you should deploy the root cert either before enrollment or as part of the enrollment. This last part came an enhancement some time ago and you set the root ca to be deployed from the setup wizard for "Enrollment Server / iPhoneServer) as shown here:
I would always recommend to spend 50$ on a trusted SSL cert because it greatly reduces problems over self signed ssl certs - if you can't find any try these guys: http://webdesign.about.com/od/ssl/tp/cheapest-ssl-certificates.htm

    Hi Experts,
    Appreciate your support.
I am facing an issue at RSOE side while i run the below script:
    rsoe -cr <param> -f <farm> -id <id>  - (To launch the RSOE)
which after editing turns our to be
    rsoe.exe -cr "host=bpromobrle100.dmz.nwc;port=80;url_suffix=/ias_relay_server/server/rs_server.dll" -f afaria -id (c9h
Attaching the screenshot of the error. I am unable to find any solution to this.
    Thanks & Regards

Good that you located an article regarding the error. I thought that document was pretty clear for you to find out what went wrong.
IT is not about whether the account you run rshost.exe had admin privileges.
What we say in the document is:
To avoid permission issues, use the same system user to start the rshost process that is used for your IIS Application Pool.
So, the Relay Server rshost.exe process runs as a service. Under which account does it run on?
and under which account you used to configure the IIS Application Pool when you set up the Relay Server?
    Are they the same account?

  • Unable to use relay server using https configuration

    Hi All,
I am using Sybase Unwired Platform 2.2 SP 04 with iOS 7.1.
I am implementing relay server with https configuration. I have already implemented relay server with http using port 80 which is working fine. But when I am changing the outbound enabler property from http to https in Server Configuration, outbound enabler is giving error
"Could not connect to Relay Server, errCode: 57, sysCode: 11001" in the RSOE log.
Instead of public IP, I am using hostname.com URL for accessing relay server.
Also in browser the availability of the url:  /ias_relay_server/server/rs_server.dll is showing none.
    Kindly advice.

    Hi Alan,
Since you are getting error while synchronization that means sup registration is successful correct? Are you able to see  registered user in SCC?
Did you also check sup server logs? (C:\sybase\unwired server\server\log)
I believe you will some relevant hints from here?

  • IOS Enrollment without ActiveSync - Mobility Deployed

I am trying to figure out how to run a iOS enrollment using LDAP and bypass ActiveSync/DataSync profile deployment. I can't seem to find the Policy or setting to tell ZMM to not push that profile out. I have DataSync as part of my Hands-Off enrollment for the majority of my users but I have several teachers that don't want to sync e-mail to the iPad. I wanted to bypass the need to have Apple Configurator as a deployment tool and only have to manage ZMM for App deployment and policies. It was my understanding that this was possible with Version 2.8 and the New VPP iOS 7 setup.
Anyone able to point me in the right direction to get this working? I have setup a second Policy for the Non-Mobility group for now. Just wondering how to remove the Mobility sync profile.
    Thanks

If you go to the properties (user information) of the users where you
don't want a mail profile within ZMM can you set the ActiveSync server
to disabled or is it greyed out?

  • Relay Server with a Http 500 error (SUP 2.2)

    Hello experts,
The history is the following, after upgrading my unwired server from SUP 2.2 SP 02 to SP 05 the aplication stopped working.
We could get Register, but we could but not synchronize.
We connected the device directly to SUP and it worked we could register and synchronize but. when connected to Relay Server only register is possible.
at the moment our only hint is the Http Error 500 that is appearing in the relayserver log. What could be causing the internar error?.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Heartbleed bug in Relay Server

According to http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/2007688 the Heartbleed bug has been fixed for the corresponding products.
I did not find anything explicitly mentioning the Relay Server in the release notes.
So for clarification: has the Relay Server been fixed too? And if so I would like to know as of which version.
In SMP 3.0 SP03 PL01 and in SMP 2.3 SP04 PL01 (I only took a look at those 2) there is a Relay Server included. Does this Version of the Relay Server include the fix for the Heartbleed bug?
    Thanks,
    Klaus

    Hi Klaus,
The version indicated in that note include fixes for all the components.  In this case, utilizing the Relay Server version included with SMP 3.0 SP03 PL01 & SMP 2.3 SP04 PL01 will include patches for the Heartbleed issue.
As a side note, the Relay Server is part of the SQL Anywhere platform so we can also use those value from the note as well.  The SP level can be a bit difficult to compare against your actual version but you can use the following:
    SQL Anywhere 16.0.0 SP 11 - > 16.0.0.1824  (This is the version shipped with SMP 2.3 SP04 PL01)
    Hope this helps,
    Edgar

  • Relay Server Hangs

After every hours our DEV Relay server hangs and stops responding.
There are no errors received when relay server URL is used but response takes unlimited time.
    http://servername.com/ias_relay_server/client/rs_client.dll
To resolve this issue each time we need to reset the IIS so that all application pools are restarted. After this it works OK for a while but later it get stuck again.
    Could you please advise
    1) If this is a known issue ?
    2) How and where to check what is the exact error ?
    3) What could be the issue here ?

I found few more error while I am working on your suggestion to check ports.

  • SMP Relay server log settings

    Hi All,
We are using the SMP 2.3SP03 version connected with relay servers.
My question is regarding the logs on the relay server side.
As we are all familiar, we can change the SMP log file settings (maximum file size, reset log when server restarts, e.t.c) from SCC.
Although there is no option on changing the relay server log file size using SCC.
The problem i am facing is the following.
Every once in a while, the relay server log file becomes very big for notebook to read and I cannot access my logs to trace and troubleshoot. The only solution to reset the log files is apparently to restart the relay server so new log files are created.
Is there any alternative to that?
For example, something changed in SCC to reset the log files when they are bigger than 10MB or create a windows process that does that.
    Thank you in advance!!
    George

    Hi Shiv,
Thank you very much for the response.
Even though I am trying to use the command to change the size, I don't get any confirmation that it was successful.
Is it possible you can provide an example of each one just for my reference on whether i use the command correctly?
I am attaching what I used and screenshots.
    Thanks!!
    George
command: after cd on the specific location, rshost -os 102400

  • SMTP Port 25 blocked to my own relay server?

    Hi all,
I am a noob to this forum. So dont smake me to hard.
I have the Verizon Wireless/router/modem I was looking around in there to allow me to use my hp scanner to connect to a smtp server across the wan. The firewall on the other side is allowing my traffic in so I should be able to hit the relay server (NOT VERIZON'S) but I have my own in a remote location but I cannot get it to work communicate on port 25.
If I open port 27 ESMTP on the destination and change the smtp server to use it then I can telnet ipaddress 27 and I would get the HELO response but not the case with port 25. Of course you maybe thinking "Why dont you set your scanner for 27"? Well I wish I could or I would not be in this forum
Its an HP 4100MFP scanner and there is an option of "SMTP" i enter the SMTP gateway address and thats it no other option.
So I will assume its blocked even though I want to hit my own smtp relay server ip ? I suppose my only other option is to put a firewall in and just vpn to the destination and be done with it. Anyhow I wanted to ask the group in this forum.
I have seen a few things on SMTP before I posted but not exactly what I wanted, it seems folks want access to smtp period but I just want access to my own SMTP server in a remote location.. So is it possible on port 25 or am I over looking something in my verizon mia424wr.
I assure you its NOT the destination.
    thanks for reading.

What about Port 80 - is it blocked?
What ports are blocked using Verizon FiOS?
No ports are blocked on business accounts with static IP addresses.
or port 80 info, see: »Verizon Online FiOS FAQ »What about Port 80 - is it blocked?
Outbound port 25 has been blocked on and off in the past, most recently blocked again effective 6/1/10. Inbound port 25 is currently open. Even if port 25 is not blocked, Verizon's dynamic IP addresses are listed in both the Spamhaus Policy Block List (PBL) and MAPS DUL. The PBL is/can be used by mail exchange servers (MX's) to reject connections from these addresses. Thus, for the purpose of running a mail exchange server port 25 is effectively blocked. However, a mail server can be run that utilizes Verizon's authenticated SMTP just like your mail client would do.
As always, YMMV. It has been reported that sometimes a port which should be blocked by standard Verizon policy has instead been left open. Which ports are blocked may change in the future.

  • Need email relay server

Spin up a CentOS install and use PostFix.
    http://www.postfix.org/BASIC_CONFIGURATION_README.html
That is what I use for all my internal printers and whatnot as some of them don't like to play nice with Google Apps accounts.

    HI guys,
We use two tracking systems, Mantis and KnowledgeTree. These systems have the ability to send email to members once items have been updated, notes added, items requiring attention, closed items etc and the mail server was being run by a local IT company for us. Something changed a few months ago and now email will not arrive at our destination. The IT company says the are not the issue, and I have also checked with the ISP.
What I would like in the interum is a reliable, cost effective Email Relay server that will send a few (10-20 per day) emails to our users exchange accounts.
Can anyone recommend a decent solution, preferaly one with a free / test / trail period so I know it works.
    thanks guys

  • Messages queueing usng IIS SMTP Relay server for Office 365

We have SMTP relay server in IIS for office 365. We followed the setup provided by Microsoft but messages are stuck inside the queue folder.
    Any help?

    Hi,
    Anything updates now?
Which sutup you have followed? Did you mean that SMTP server didn't deliver the mail? If yes, please check the -delivery report -delivery report would be created in the C:\InetPub\MailRoot\BadMail folder.
In addition, since it is related to IIS, you can also ask in IIS forum below for professional assistance:
