AFPASSWD & AFTBLGEN executables missing in $FND_TOP/bin in R12.1.3

After cloning from source instance, AFPASSWD and AFTBLGEN executable missing in $FND_TOP/bin in R12.1.3 in the target instance.

How could we get the above executable back?

$PATH missing '/usr/local/bin'

$PATH missing '/usr/local/bin' in /etc/login.defs and /etc/profile.
I only noticed, being somewhat a noob, after compiling the NEW Dillo 0.7.3 and finding that it places its' executable in /usr/local/bin (!). This, not being in my $PATH by default.
Please consider adding this line to future ARCH 0.6 or beyond for WORKSTATION users:

export PATH="/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/opt/bin"

For some reason it is in my /etc/profile ... but I don't remember if I put it there or not.
Firstly, (and as already mentioned more or less) I can see arguments why AL does not include /usr/local/bin by default (mainly because there is nothing there when only installing AL packages).
But OTOH, this is the beauty of AL : you can (and are even supposed to) configure your system as you like by editing the files in /etc. I guess that's why I don't remember, because the first thing I would do if need be is editing /etc/profile ;-) ...
Oh, but something (very general !) to consider : if you want to keep your system "Unix-style", don't put every posible PATH in /etc/profile, but put it in ~/.profile (or whatever shell you are using). If you are the only user, it does not really matter. But in a "true multi-user Unix system" you should not have /funky/path/bin in /etc/ ... not that /usr/local is exotic ....this is more of a general note.

yes, the PKGBUILD for dillo works fine, however, last week they released the latest version 0.7.3 which Mt.Tam-Luxer tried to install ( ... hint ... hint ... package maintainers ... :-) ... ). It was not quite clear from your post if yo wanted him to modify the PKGBUILD script or to just use it.
Oh, and besides changing pkgver, the source should now point to http://www.dillo.org/download/dillo-0.7.3.tar.bz2

"wdp" folder missing under the bin folder

Hi All,
I have no clue whats going on.
I have been successfully developing my WD application and deploying it on the server.But recenetly i added a few Value Nodes and value attributes to the Component Controller and tried to deploy the application but the deployment terminated in between without any messages.
I the rebuild the project and saw a lot of errors pertaining to my Import Statements in my java files which i am using for writing my business logic.
The unresolved import is the Interface file of my component controller.On checking further inside the bin folder in the navigator view I found that the "wdp" folder itself is missing.
I even deleted all the Value nodes and attributes that i had created but it didnt solve the problem.The "wdp" folder is created internally by the system.
I even created a new WD project and pasted the contents from the previous project but the same wdp folder went missing again.
Can someone tell me whats happening. Why is the "wdp" folder missing and how i can regenrate it so that my application may work again.
i am not being able to slove it at all.

Hi,
Remove the project from workspace. Import it fresh, check component controller for errors.
If there are errors,
a) Go to the location of project in folder strcture
b) Check properties of files : .project and .classpath
c) If they are read only, change them explicitly to - read only false
d) reload & rebuild the project

Executable - Missing subVIs on Build Computer

Hi there,
I've managed to generate an executable to run the LabVIEW VI. However, an error message pops up saying that I'm missing 20-odd sub VIs. I'm trying to run the .exe on the build computer (before I move elsewhere).
These sub VIs are all present in the Dependencies list. Have I missed something? Suggestions?

The Report Generation Toolkit actually dynamically loads in classes, so you have to force them to be in your executable. You do this by adding the libraries from vi.lib to your project and then add them to the "always include" in the build spec of the executable.
I'm not sure about the mySQL as I have not used that library.

Hpi.dll, msvcrt.dll missing from JRE7/bin directory

Hi,
I was working on a project where I was using Java6 compiler and creating a installer. Now I want to move on java7 compiler, but stuck on one issue. My project was including \bin\hpi.dll,\bin\msvcrt.dll during installer creation, but while moving to Java7 , I found those DLLs are missing and installer is not getting created properly.
Please let me know the alternate solution or if any other DDL needs to be included.

"Msvcrt.dll is the Microsoft Visual C Run-Time Library (and Msvcpp.dll is standard C++ library) for Visual C++ version 4.2 to 6.0".
Now java 7 is using msvcr100.dll, and you should find it in the bin directory. They are therefore using Visual Studio 2010 for Java 7.
A quick search for hpi.dll shows that it was part of Java 6 and it's (legitimately) not part of Java 7 anymore.

Publish to Executable missing in Captivate 8

According to the manual, publishing to .EXE or .APP (for Mac) is still an option in Captivate 8, yet there is no "publish to media" option in the menu, just publish to HTML5/SWF or Video. There is a separate Print option, but can't locate the Media option! Help!

Pye Man, I'm going to give you 2 ways to overcome this lack of Executables -- and yes, I'm still carrying a minor grudge that this feature was stripped from 8, in case you were wondering.
Option 1 - Publish this a non-scorm compatible course. You'll get a tidy little bundle of files for this which you can zip up and send/share with your customers, telling them to unzip it to a folder on their hard drive (keeping the architecture of the zipped folder). Once they have done this, they can click on the .html object (e.g., index.html) which is the command to play the content in a browser just the way the executable would. I don't recommend publishing it as scorm-compatible output because I've found that it won't always play for everyone (it wants to be tucked into a nice, cozy LMS).
Option 2 - Publish it as a scorm-compatible course and upload the zipped folder to SCORMCloud, a very handy LMS sandbox. (SCORM Cloud) From there you can create an invitation to send to your reviewers (there are limits to the number of testers and maximum file sizes for free accounts, but they're usually generous enough for a few projects).
I hope this works for you -- it's better than the proverbial 'sharp stick in the eye.' Oh, and if you don't need to preview interactions or tables of contents or interactive buttons, you can always publish this as a video and share that!

File links go missing files in bins

Premiere Pro CS6. I'm working on a fairly complex project with lots and lots of still images and dynamic links to AE CS6. Never had this happen before, but while I'm working on a project with lots of bins and sub-bins, I'll go looking for a file and while the bins are all still there, there are no files in them.
My workaround has been to close PPro and reopen the file and voila! they're there. Nothing changes on the timeline, but I can't access the links to move a file to the timeline.
Bug or feature??? I'd say bug, because it certainly doesn't act as a feature to me!
I'd send a bug report, but they don't really seem to help. I've still got the problem of having to render AE CS6 dynamic links inside PPro, which didn't exist in CS5.5 and have turned in several bug reports, with no response from Adobe. sigh Takes up valuable render time.
The work around is not acceptable as it takes up even more time!

Nope. Nothing in the search box. It's like the database for the bins just disappears randomly. Then when i close the program and reopen it, the file links are back. It's almost like the bins directory(?) loses communications with Premiere (it hasn't happened in AE...yet) so I'm wondering if there's a .dll or some sort of subroutine that directs the bin database.

Yes. When I dynamically linked an AE file to a PPro project in versions CS5 and CS5.5 (and further back as well, when it worked at all!), the render line above the linked project was yellow, showing as not needing a render. In CS6, the behavior is completely different. It shows as needing to render (red). My graphics card is an approved nVidia Quadro, so that's not an issue. In CS6, it's broken. Period. It has disrupted my workflow as I use many compositions from AE in PPro and now have to render a project.
Thanks for the help...or at least looking at the issues. But no resolution here yet.

Executable missing menu

LabVIEW 2009 SP1 (DevSuite): I am sure this has been covered but I am out if time to search.
Custom RTM file created for main interface and included in Build Spec (included in app.exe) but get Error 1162 (Cannot find one or more tags) on launch when using Set Menu Item Info to configure some my User-defined menu items.
Noticed also that only original LabVIEW type tags and menus (File, Help) appear but custom ones are missing.
Do all custom menus have to be dynamically created in code even though an RTM was created? What am I missing?

Reports.sh file missing in ORAHOME \bin directory

I have successfully started the reports server from DOS and looked for the reports.sh file to change the REPORTS_PATH system variable but no file exists on my computer. I am also running the following code which opens a blank web page but then nothing happens, whilst loading though the reports server acknowledges the job in the queue. the code I am using is below:

Same here. The installation instructions for Oracle in AIX is asking to run the preRoot.sh. Where can I get it this file, since I do not have Oracle CD.

Missing data in ap_check_stocks after R12 upgrade

Hello,
We are currently in version R12.1.2 and I have an existing query from R11 which gets data from ap_check_stocks table. I am however not able to find any data on ap_check_stocks after R12 upgrade. Has this table been discontinued? I do not find any link in metalink which says that as well...
The join used in the query is between ap_check_stocks and ap_checks is ap_checks.check_stock_id = ap_check_stocks.check_stock_id... Has something changed in R12?

You can find AP_CHECK_STOCKS synonym in R12 and the base object is AP.AP_CHECK_STOCKS_ALL table.

Adcmctl.cmd does not work on windows???.

I have some questions. Plz clear my doubts.
1). On windows when i start Applications services using adstrtal.cmd it starts all services but not conc. manger. I have to specifically go into services and start the conc. manager services. It happens same with adcmctl.cmd
Is there any method to start conc, manager from cmd prompt in windows.
c:\> sc start .... is it correct.
2). Is ORACLE_SID variable optional in Windows. Is it eqivalent to LOCAL.
3). On WINDOWS what is the difference between .env and .cmd file. I use envshell.cmd but there are other files with .env extention. Why these files are there.
4). The conc. manager log file name in %APPLCSF%\%APPLLOG% is'nt it SID_DDMM.log in windows machines.
5). Can i run autoconfig with out sourcing envshell.cmd, if i do this does it fail. I always run corresponding (APPS/DB) environment file but i ask my self is it mandatory, as it takes all values from context file.
6). When i run autoconfig on windows, does it change Registry values.
7). In 8.0.6 O_H on windows, i can't find tnsping but i see tnsping80. Is it the same as tnsping. But on linux i can find tnsping in 8.0.6 O_H.
8)when running Purge conc. req and/or manager data , age or limit values. If i set limit to 4000, does it delete files created before latest 4000 files.
And if i submit age 30, does it delete files older than 30 days.
9). When relinking fnd executables, can these PALIBR, INVLIBR processes be kept running. Or i need to kill all the executables found in $FND_TOP/bin need to be killed. Should i stop all FNDLIBR processes.

Running report in concurrent manager using unix shell script to create PDF

I need help urgently, we are in the process of migrating from 10.7 to 11i. My problem is we have a report created in 10.7 that is ran through concurrent manager using shell scripts(host) and the output is stored as .pdf, in 10.7, it works perfectly. Now I am also doing it in 11i but it gives some error. The shell script from 10.7 is: r25runm module=$XXX_TOP/srw/test.rdf \

I checked your metalink, and I am confused which is the right executable I should use, is it ar60runb or ar60run or rwrun60b or rwrun60c or rwrun60b, which is which? how many parameters do I have to include?, some documents are saying I have to use the 4 parameters-orauser/pwd, userid,username, request_id, others one.Which parameter/s go/es with what executable. We are using HP-UX server 64 bit. In 11i, when I run in concurrent manager it gives me an error:The executable file /chdev/fd11/u00/fd11appl/xxx/1.0/bin/test for this concurrent program cannot be executed.

I have checked Metalink and follow the directions, created a link fndcpesr, check and set the permissions, etc. Play around with the executables ar60runb or rwrun60 etc., the parameters. The ar60* or rwrun60* executable permissions are -rwxr-xr-x and $XXX_TOP/fnd/../fndcpesr is -rwxr-xr-x. Also, why is ar60* executables located in $FND_TOP/bin, whereas rwrun60* executables are in $ORACLE_HOME/bin? I haven't been able to see the code of a spawned program, but I have had some success in looking for SQL statements, etc in spawned programs, as these are typically stored in text strings in the original source code. I use the Unix strings command, as in the following example (which is not a concurrent program,but is a compiled executable):
strings -a $FND_TOP/bin/FNDLIBR | grep -i fnd_file_private
While I can only guess at the logic of how it does it, this shows that FNDLIBR calls several of the procedures in the FND_FILE_PRIVATE package.
It really depends on what you are trying to find out - to get all of the database work performed by a spawned concurrent program, it is simpler to just enable tracing on the program and run a request. If you are looking for code logic (as in, in what case does FNDLIBR call fnd_file_private.outfile_get), as Shiv has said, about all you have to rely on is the documentation. Unfortunately, the documentation is not normally at that detailed a level.

Firsts steps upgrading to 11.5.10.2

I'm reading the note 316365.1 about what steps to follow to upgrade my 11.5.7. version to a 11.5.10.
In the pre-update tasks, the 2nd point is: Apply the AD-Minipack.
It says to apply the patch 4238286 (Minipack 11i.AD.I.2), but inside this patch link, it recommends to apply the 5161676 (Minipack 11i.AD.I.5)...
I'm reading the note of this patch... but there are two many things to consider...
I have the 11i.AD.H installed .. do you know if there would be any problem if I apply the AD.I.5 patch instead AD.I.2?

Applying AD.I.5 is straightforward and does not have much requirements. If you are on 11.5.7 you just need to do the following:
- Make sure you have Perl executable (5.004 minimum; 5.005 preferred) installed and in your path
- Ensure all application tier server nodes contain the FNDLOAD executable in the $FND_TOP/bin directory
- Apply Patch 3464936 (ONLY if you are on Windows)
- Verify that you have implemented the apps.zip architectural change
