After a re-install of Photoshop CS4 Extended, because of problems with my iMac, it is impossible to give a preset size to the Crop Tool.How is that possible - and how can I repair that?

Did you trash the Photoshop's preferences before re-installing?
Reinstalling without trashing the preferences is futile, as you still have all the corruption there.
Quit Photoshop now and trash preferences:
Hold down Command, Option, and Shift keys while starting up Photoshop. A dialog box will appear asking if you wish to delete the preferences/settings file. Click on yes.

After removing one song iTunes "updated" my phone's song list but in reality just deleted every song on it ( except for U2's atrocious album !!)

When I start up iTunes and CopyTrans the songs are still there. However when I attempt to play them they will not play?

I was gifted cs4 extended and when trying to install it says the database is corrupt. Called Adobe but they do not support this anymore and suggested I go to this forum. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? artzy

R_Kelly, I have been working on this problem and tried to find the caps db by searching and nothing appeared. I found caps dll and renamed it to xcaps.dll in both Premiere Ele. and Photshop Elements. Still the problem appeared. I have now uninstalled both programs as Photoshop cs4 is not installed at all. Restarted the computer and tried to install again, same problem. I then ran the cleaner that was suggested also did a disk cleanup. Nothing seems to be helping.

how old is the phone? was this the first time you are putting your sim in the iphone? if it is it might be locked to a previous carrier...if not, try to do a restore again and see if it picks up the sim card after. do the restore while the sim card is intact, and then not intact. otherwise, you'll might have to take it to an apple store to get it looked at.

Define "everything" because if you've tried everything then your last recourse is:
1 - restore your backup copy of your iPhoto Library created just prior to your Yosemite upgrade or
2 - Starting over from scratch with new library
Start over with a new library and import the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from your original library as follows:
1. Open the library package like this.
2. Launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
3. Drag the subfolders of the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from the open iPhoto Library package into the open iPhoto window a few at a time.
This will create a new library with the same Events (but not necessarily the same Event names) as the original library but will not keep the metadata, albums, books slideshows and other projects.
Note: your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.

I can't install Adobe Photoshop CS4 extended at all

I downloaded Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended (Trial Version) from the Adobe.com website through Akamai downloader. Well, i tried to install it clicking on the set up, but it started to install and a few minutes later stopped and displayed a error message. The message, without error code identifications, just informed that there was an error during the instalation and Adobe bridge and another one could not be installed.
I tried again and it started, but when it was almost finishing another message appeared warning that "there was an error during the instalation(again no code error identification) and that Photoshop could not be installed.
I follow some tips like shutting down the firewall, AV, but it didn't work. I used the system restoring so that i could completely clean up remaining files and tried to reinstall it, but again nothing.
Has anybody any idea?

I decided to format the computer again. Perhaps, some problem during the system instalation may have caused this problem. After that, i'll try to install it and see what's gonna happen. I've decided to do it because If it is caused by an instalation error of the main system, it may also cause hassles when using other softwares. Downgrade Mavericks to Snow Leopard
1. Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer Disc. After the installer
      loads select your language and click on the Continue
      button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the
      Utilities menu.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the
      mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status
      of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then
      the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART
      info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on
      the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions
      from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS
      Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the
      partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on
      the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the installer. Install Snow Leopard.
This will erase the whole drive so be sure to backup your files if you don't have a backup already. If you have performed a TM backup using Lion be aware that you cannot restore from that backup in Snow Leopard (see below.) I suggest you make a separate backup using Carbon Copy Cloner.
If you have Snow Leopard Time Machine backups made while on Snow Leopard, then you may do a full system restore per #14 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions. If you have subsequent backups from Lion, you can restore newer items selectively, via the "Star Wars" display, per #15 there, but be careful; some Snow Leopard apps may not work with the Lion/Mountain Lion files.

Installing photoshop cs4 extended with cs3 suite

Hi,
I would like to install photoshop cs4 extended with cs3 suite on the same drive.
Is it possible? Should I uninstall photoshop cs3 (not extended) from the drive first?
Should I use the WinCS4Cleanupscript before I do that.
I dont want to uninstall the whole suite cs3.

CS3 will co-exist quite happily on your computer with CS4.
Do not remove it until you are completely satisfied with the new version!
There is absolutely no need for the clean script at this point. It is only to clear up after messed up un-installs.

Quit the Creative Cloud application and relaunch it again. When the CC app gets launched it scans through the installed applications and updates it's "Apps" tab accordingly. After this you can install Illustrator from the APPS tab.
