After hitting send a draft is still saved in the draft folder.

When responding to an email it automatically saves into the draft folder which is great! However, after hitting send, the email stays in the draft folder. I do hear the "swoosh" sound so I know the email is sent, but I have to go in and delete the emails in the draft folder occassionally. I have received emails back from people even though the message is still in drafts so I know they are being received.

Is this a Gmail account? I've seen that behavior and the solution has been to turn off the feature of saving drafts to the server (see Mail - Preferences - Accounts - Mailbox Behaviors).

    what happens to draft messages after hitting send?

    Actually you can change it.  Bring up the message and hit 'Message. > send again > and with the message ready to send you can rephrase it to your hearts content. Then resend.
    Regards
    Of course, you also end up with two messages

  • When I send an email it shows up in the sent folder as new, how do I fix this so it shows it as read automatically?

    When I send an email it shows up in the sent folder as new, how do I fix this so it shows it as read automatically?

    I don't want all my mail to be marked as read, just the sent messages. I set Thunderbird up on my new PC and whenever I send an email it goes to my sent folder like I want, but it shows up as a new or unread message. I have Thunderbird on my two other PC's and it doesn't act this way. On the other PC's when I send out an email, it shows up in my sent folder as read. That's the way I want it to act on my new PC. With the other two PC's I didn't have to do anything to the setting it was like that from the start.
    I appreciate any help I can get in this matter. Thank you

  • How do I set Adobe Reader XI so that a saved pdf will be saved in the last folder saved?

    When I save a group of PDF files, I want them all saved in the same folder.  How do I configure so that each fille will be saved in the last folder that was used to save, rather than having to browse for the save folder each time?

    I am replying to my own question. I learned that if you right click when trying to open a PDF, you are asked which app you wish to use to open the file. If you click on Get Info, instead of choosing an app, you get this great information box which gives you the option to set Adobe Reader as your default app for PDF files. It even allows you to change all the pdf files you already have to Adobe Files. Yay.

  • After updating my phone, all my old emails in the sent folder are gone. Can I retrieve them?

    Try a reset by pressing and holding the home and power buttons until the white Apple logo appears.
    If the issue persists, delete the email account then add it back.

  • Greetings. Can you please tell me why a bookmark is not always saved in the chosen folder? Also, Firefox crashes shortly after opening, periodically. (Both of these problems have been happening with different versions for sometime now.)

    The bookmark problem occurs when I am creating a bookmark. When it occurs, the page is saved to another folder that was recently accessed, and random other folders' names are changed to the same name as the folder where the new bookmark was incorrectly saved.
    The browser crashes only shortly after I open it, and I am closing a tab.

    Bookmarking with Ctrl+D will bookmark to previously chosen folder.
    '''Bookmarking with the bookmark star''' will bookmark to "Unsorted Bookmarks" folder (default), unless you have modified behavior with an Extension. The "[https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/3880/ Addbookmark Here2]" extension has some [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/addbookmarkhere2.txt options] that might be confusing and are optional for those who are looking for old behavior.

    Please post only one question in a post, people looking for answers are going to be confused when looking for answers to either problem. For the secondary problem a Google search on [http://www.google.com/search?num=100&hl=en&newwindow=1&q=site%3Akb.mozillazine.org+-intitle%3Atalk+-inurl:%22/index.php?title=%22+-inurl%3A%22%2Findex.php%3Ftitle%3D%22+crashes+-intitle:talk&btnG=Search crashes] in the MozillaZine KB may help, particularly the first two hits. (I put the easiest to work with first).

  • Is Email in the mac inbox still saved on the internet server?

    Hello, I will be switching to a mac very soon and I am wondering.. If I set my Gmail account to work with the mail application, are the email messages still saved in my ordinary Gmail account by logging in online at google? Also, are these messages saved on my Hard Disk?
    Thanks!

    Sort of depending on how you have Mail set up. A POP account as I'm sure you are aware will download messages to your computer, (where they will be stored in local mailboxes in your home folder), and it will also keep them on the server. Where it differs from an IMAP account I think is that the two are not actually synchronised.
    When you set up Mail on your Mac you need to visit the preferences options and;
    Click the accounts tab.
    Click the advanced tab.
    There is an option there to, *Remove copy from server after*...........+Right away+, +a day+, +a week,+ +a month+, +after moving from inbox+.
    If you choose to leave it in your inbox then it is up to your Mail provider as to how long they keep it for.

  • When sending e-mail, a message says that the sent folder is full,-- even though it is not-- however the mail still gets sent. No problem sending mail to myself

    I am running Thunderbird version 33.1 Recently, when sending e-mail, I get an error message indicating that the sent folder is full and that I should empty or compress it to fix the problem-- so I emptied it-- problem remains. Also, there is no record of sending the e-mail in the sent folder, even though the mail has been sent. No such problems occur when I send mail to myself.
    Any suggestions ???

    If you deleted some of the messages you have done one half of the process. Deleting a message just marks it for deletion and hides it from view. You have to COMPACT the folder to actually delete the messages and free up the space.
    I agree that Thunderbird did a poor job naming this process because it is the subject of much misunderstanding.
    Read about compacting here.

  • One-click 'Save as jpeg' shortcut script please! - saved in the same folder

    Hi, I've been re-directed here because I was told a script could solve my problems - but I have no scripting experience/knowledge/ability! Below is my original problem and post. I got as close as 2 button presses, but I'm after that sweet, sweet single-button, double-my-productivity shortcut! Thanks!
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1106992
    I use 'Save as .jpeg' ALL the time (Photoshop CS6, Mac ML), and it really feels like I should just be able to press one button (a shortcut) and the name/quality dialogs don't appear and it just saves a .jpeg into the folder that my original .PSD/file is in.
    So basically:
    - Press one button to save my open .PSD/file as a .jpeg
    - Automatically save it in the same folder as my .PSD
    - Save it as '10' quality in the jpeg settings
    - No dialog boxes, as soon as I press the button, it saves it - if there's already a .jpeg of the same name, it creates a '-1','-2' etc.
    I've tried using 'Actions', but it seems to save it wherever my original Action folder was - it doesn't change to whatever the current folder the .PSD is in...
    Thanks!
    Adam

    File -> Scripts -> Script Events Manager
    Click Enable Events at the top
    Select Save Document from Photoshop Event  drop down
    Select Save Extra JPEG from Script drop down
    Click Add
    Click Done
    EVERY document you save, except JPEG files, will save a jpg file. Saving will be slower.
    You will need to modify line 62 of the Save Extra JPEG.jsx file located here: <YOUR_PHOTOSHOP_INSTALL_LOCATION>\Presets\Scripts\Event Scripts Only
    In order to boost your quality to '10'. Here is the line in question
    jpegOptions.quality = 2; // really low
    Change it to
    jpegOptions.quality = 10; // really high
    You will need to modify the script to get this problem solved as well: it saves it - if there's already a .jpeg of the same name, it creates a '-1','-2' etc.
    You can steal code out of Image Processor that finds a file name that is unique for the folder so you don't get overwrites.
    Are you sure you want that? If you do lots of saves you are going to fill up your disk fast.

  • PDF form reset to blank after hitting  send button

    How can I make the PDF form reset back to the original after someone hits the "Send by email" button?

    You can try to use the following on a 'click' event of the button.
    It will reset the form after you email.
    var myDoc = event.target;
    myDoc.mailDoc(
    false,
    "[email protected]", "", "",
    "Subject goes here.",
    "Body message goes here."
    xfa.host.resetData();

  • After deleting Calendar users, their subscriptions still remain, and the server crashes when accessing deleted calendars

    After deleting users from iPlanet Calendar Server(iCS), the users'
    subscriptions still remain. Then, if a user tries to unsubscribe
    from a deleted calendar, the server sometimes crashes, even though sufficient
    disk space and memory are available. When checking the HTTP log, the
    log shows that certain calendars don't exist.
    The solution to this problem is to back up the ics50gse.db
    file to another file with a different
    name, or remove the file from the db
    directory.
    <P>
    If you are upgrading your iCS, make sure the GSE database queue is empty
    before you perform the upgrade. To check the GSE database queue,
    you can use either of the following commands while the server is either
    running or stopped:
    <P>
    csschedule list
    <I>OR</I>
    csdb -v list
    <P>
    After issuing the command, if nothing is displayed, the GSE queue is empty, and
    you can proceed to step 3 below. However, if the queue does contain
    items, use the following steps to flush it:
    <P>
    <OL>
    <LI>Start the server if the server is in a <I>stopped</I> state.
    <P>
    <LI>Stop only the cshttpd
    daemon so that no new requests can
    come in.
    <P>
    Note: It should take only a few minutes for the GSE to handle any requests.
    Typically, the GSE queue will be empty.
    <P>
    <LI>Shut down iCS.
    <P>
    <LI>Rename the ics50gse.db
    file.
    <P>
    <LI>Restart the server.
    </OL>
    <P>
    If you have already upgraded the server and are experiencing the above
    mentioned problems, use the following steps:
    <P>
    <OL>
    <LI>Shut down iCS.
    <P>
    <LI>Rename the ics50gse.db
    file.
    <P>
    <LI>Restart the server.
    </OL>

    I forgot to mention that I've cleared out ~/Library/Caches/ for my test user, as well as deleted the iWeb .plist file.

  • After hitting Command-F, I now have to place the cursor in the text box!

    Since I upgraded to 10.5.7, when I search using Command-F, the cursor no longer defaults to inside the text entry field in the search window. After it opens, I still have to place the cursor before typing. Is there a way to change this? Why would Apple add an extra step in what should be a simple operation?

    I have had this problem; but while trying to fix another problem, I reset my preferences for Firefox and it fixed this problem as well. To reset preferences, follow this link: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Resetting%20preferences
