After the clean up is complete in rescue mode.

it states scan disk.... and the does nothing and the same thing is observed on the lcd/interface?. clean up2. format all3. reload os4. reboot??I have tried reboot a few times, same rescue mode pops up, and so is my jukebox zen extra pretty much toast and do I need to complete #2 or #3? anyway to save the files on mp3 ( probably not, but I thought I would ask)?

Alex,
Thank you for your help.
I fixed the problem but still have two questions.
I took the beast into the shop and after a great deal of head scratching and doing the things I had already done they went to "universal access" and made an adjustment. Bingo. I had never thought to look there; figuring the display icon would govern display issues. We suspect our one year old did the adjustments when he got ahold of the mouse while our backs were turned and re-designed our desktop.
Anyway, please tell me more about problems with being in the southern hemisphere.
1. Would I be better off having the "small cable" removed and a line conditioner added rather than using the power transformer. I spent 160 au$ on the 240 to 120 transformer; would paying for the internal fix be worth doing on a four year old machine?
2. I will investigate recalibrating the CRT. Is this also a problem with the non-CRT screen on my new imac? I would suspect not but my ignorance is boundless.
I truley appreciate your generous help.

  • Accepting ilife before or after the clean install of ML

    Hi
    I know this seams strange but here is the situation, I am getting cMBP and will swap the HD with SSD, I am new to MAC and will follow these steps:
    Setup the new Mac
    Login with Apple ID and download the ML, to make bootable drive for clean install
    Swap the HDD with the SSD
    Erase the new SSD and install the ML
    Now here comes the strange title, which is better: to accept the iLife after the initial setup before the clean install or after the clean install? I've heard of some users loosing their preinstalled iLife after clean install of ML.
    Sorry for long post and thanks in advance.

    I'd do it after you install the SSD drive and install ML on it.  That way you only have to download and install once.

    Hi All,
    Please let me know how to change the Department (in Operations) even after the Discrete Job got completed.
    This is in Oracle Applications (11.5.10),Oracle Work in Process module.
    Thanks a lot.

    You will have to undo completion, then undo every operation step (including resource transactions), modify the resource requirements to 0, add new operations and resource requirements and take the job thru' completion.

  • Need to Trigger a Program in ECC after the DSO load has completed

    HI Experts,
    I have scenario where i need to trigger a Program in ECC after the load to DSO has been completed successfully. Basically opposite of the everyday scenario.
    Can i still use the  the RSSM_EVENT_RAISE FM in the program to call the event in ECC.
    If the above is true.Do i need to have code in the program to confirm the DSO has been loaded or can i just have the program (which basically calls the FM RSSM_EVENT_RAISE) appended to the process chain after the DSO Activation?
    Appreciate your advice

    Hi,
    To help future proof your solution, lean towards using the process chain as much as possible.
    A "Green/Success" only link from the DataStore Activation process variant to an ABAP Program process variant will work nicely. It will also still allow your program to be executed by other scenarios (like manually because you want the event raised now without any dependency on the DataStore status).
    SAP now recommends you use the CL_BATCH_EVENT class and it's methods to interact with the system events. Use transaction SE24 to review the methods and parameters available and then use the sample code below to test your solution.
    Here is a starting point for coding that is used within an ABAP Program process variant in a process chain.
    Use transaction SE38 to store this code to be called by the ABAP Program process variant.
    constants:
      c_interrupt_eventid   type btceventid  value '[Event]',
      c_interrupt_eventparm type btcevtparm  value '[Parameter]'.
    data:
      l_interrupt_eventid   type btceventid value c_interrupt_eventid,
      l_interrupt_eventparm type btcevtparm value c_interrupt_eventparm.
    call method cl_batch_event=>raise
      EXPORTING
        i_eventid                      = l_interrupt_eventid
        i_eventparm                    = l_interrupt_eventparm
      EXCEPTIONS
        excpt_raise_failed             = 2
        excpt_server_accepts_no_events = 3
        excpt_raise_forbidden          = 4
        excpt_unknown_event            = 5
        excpt_no_authority             = 6
        others                         = 1.
    if sy-subrc <> 0.
      message e051(rsar) with 'Failed to raise background event.' c_interrupt_eventid c_interrupt_eventparm.
    endif.
    Note: The error message is process chain friendly and will appear in the RSPC transaction GUI and system logs.
    Hope this helps,
    John.

  • My MacBook won't go passed a grey screen and the apple logo . It has a loading bar but doesn't do anything and just shuts down after the loading bar is complete... HELP!

    Please please help!  I'm a college student taking finals. Need it fixed asap

    Take each of these steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved.
    Step 1
    The first step in dealing with a boot failure is to secure your data. If you want to preserve the contents of the startup drive, and you don't already have at least one current backup, you must try to back up now, before you do anything else. It may or may not be possible. If you don't care about the data that has changed since your last backup, you can skip this step.
    There are several ways to back up a Mac that is unable to boot. You need an external hard drive to hold the backup data.
         a. Boot into the Recovery partition, or from a local Time Machine backup volume (option key at startup.) When the OS X Utilities screen appears, launch Disk Utility and follow the instructions in this support article, under “Instructions for backing up to an external hard disk via Disk Utility.”
    b. If you have access to a working Mac, and both it and the non-working Mac have FireWire or Thunderbolt ports, boot the non-working Mac in target disk mode. Use the working Mac to copy the data to another drive. This technique won't work with USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
    c. If the internal drive of the non-working Mac is user-replaceable, remove it and mount it in an external enclosure or drive dock. Use another Mac to copy the data.
    Step 2
    Sometimes a boot failure can be resolved by resetting the NVRAM.
    Step 3
    If you use a wireless keyboard, trackpad, or mouse, replace or recharge the batteries. The battery level shown in the Bluetooth menu item may not be accurate.
    Step 4
    If there's a built-in optical drive, a disc may be stuck in it. Follow these instructions to eject it.
    Step 5
    Press and hold the power button until the power shuts off. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed to boot, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Use a different keyboard and/or mouse, if those devices are wired. If you can boot now, one of the devices you disconnected, or a combination of them, is causing the problem. Finding out which one is a process of elimination.
    If you've booted from an external storage device, make sure that your internal boot volume is selected in the Startup Disk pane of System Preferences.
    Step 6
    Boot in safe mode. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Post for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
    The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    When you boot in safe mode, it's normal to see a dark gray progress bar on a light gray background. If the progress bar gets stuck for more than a few minutes, or if the system shuts down automatically while the progress bar is displayed, your boot volume is corrupt and the drive is probably malfunctioning. In that case, go to Step 6.
    If you can boot and log in now, empty the Trash, and then open the Finder Info window on your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) Check that you have at least 9 GB of available space, as shown in the window. If you don't, copy as many files as necessary to another volume (not another folder on the same volume) and delete the originals. Deletion isn't complete until you empty the Trash again. Do this until the available space is more than 9 GB. Then reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)
    If the boot process hangs again, the problem is likely caused by a third-party system modification that you installed. Post for further instructions.
    Step 7
    Launch Disk Utility in Recovery mode (see Step 1.) Select your startup volume, then run Repair Disk. If any problems are found, repeat until clear. If Disk Utility reports that the volume can't be repaired, the drive has malfunctioned and should be replaced. You might choose to tolerate one such malfunction in the life of the drive. In that case, erase the volume and restore from a backup. If the same thing ever happens again, replace the drive immediately.
    This is one of the rare situations in which you should also run Repair Permissions, ignoring the false warnings it may produce. Look for the line "Permissions repair complete" at the end of the output. Then reboot as usual.
    Step 8
    Reinstall the OS. If your Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade.
    Step 9
    Repeat Step 6, but this time erase the boot volume in Disk Utility before installing. The system should automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant. Follow the prompts to transfer your data from a Time Machine or other backup.
    Step 10
    This step applies only to older Macs (not current models) that have a logic-board ("PRAM") battery. Both desktop and portable Macs used to have such a battery. The logic-board battery, if there is one, is separate from the main battery of a portable. A dead logic-board battery can cause a boot failure. Typically the failure will be preceded by loss of the settings for the startup disk and system clock. See the user manual for replacement instructions. You may have to take the machine to a service provider to have the battery replaced.
    Step 11
    If you get this far, you're probably dealing with a hardware fault. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider.

  • Script that will automaticly set the focus to the next text box after the previous one is completed

    Specificly, entering a SSN into a form with three text boxes. 1st box for first 3 digits, 2nd box for middle 2 digits, and 3rd box for last 4 digits. I would like the user to be able to enter the 1st three digits into the 1st box, and after the 3rd digit is entered, the focus jumps to the 2nd box, then once the middle two are entered, the focus jumps the the 3rd box without having to manually use the tab key to advance through the boxes. Thanks.

    See JavaScript - setFocus Method for tabbing to next form field for a sample form that uses a document level script and custom keystroke script. See Entering Document Scripts and Entering scripts for form fields by Thom Parker for detailed instructions on entering or viewing these type of scripts.

  • I am planning to to a clean install of Mavericks on my MacBook Air 11" mid 2012. Will i lose out on the free apps like iPhoto and iMovie etc after the clean install? Has anyone done it yet?

    I had not upgraded to the free 10.8 update.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
    If you do a clean installation, you will lose all iLife apps (iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand) because they are not included in OS X. However, after reinstalling OS X, you will be able to reinstall them for free from the Mac App Store. Open the Mac App Store, go to Purchases and download the iLife applications. Note that the latest version is only compatible with OS X Mavericks.
    Also, make a backup of your files with Time Machine before upgrading and check that your apps are supported > http://www.roaringapps.com

  • The metadata edits may be saved in the Cloud but the server processing after the wait will not complete.

    I have a library of uploads in the Cloud about 1/25 of max limit for my Match acct. It refuses to update the status inside iTunes while it updates several versions behind as it pushes my uploads to the mobile devices. It has a threshold?! First, the check items to upload would be a problem. After gertting a majority of matching done - Nada, spins for days.

    All my Cloud activity, now, happens on an additional desktop OS laptop, and not my macmini server proper smart playlist library where reside all the orginal files - it just sticks on Waiting!? Today I Learned » if there is a conflict in the Cloud, then anything uploaded as a .wav: status is matched as an iTunes Plus setting, uploaded designation is treated/converted as a MPEG-4 audio file - only on the Cloud files - which I have never had in my conversion workflow . I wish a monitor would reply b4 I hit the jump to Spotify.

  • Changing the Final rating after the appraisal process is completed

    Hi Experts,
    Is there any way to change the final appraisal rating when the appraisal document is in the completed state?
    I tried to change the rating only VA rating using standard FM HRHAP_DOC_FINAL_WRITE, but it deletes all the other records(VC, VB).
    Can someone guide me on the same?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Vibha

    Hi
    Changes to Appraisal Template can only done when it is NOT Released, to Cancel Release there should not be any documents created by using this Appraisal Template and deleting completed appraisal documents is not Recommended in PRD enviornment.
    You cannot make changes to appraisal template when it is in Released Status and it is not recommended to make changes to appraisal template which has appraisal documents.
    You need to copy the appraisal template, create new appraisal template and make the changes to new template.
    Hope this helps
    Best Regards
    Reddy
    I think I misunderstood your question, if you want to change the attributes of final rating column, above is the answer.
    If you want to make changes to the value in Final Rating Column, you can do that by using T code PHAP_ADMIN

  • How do I get my chart to redraw after the onitor comes out of screen saver mode.

    My program runs 24/7 monitoring an exhaust stream. The program usually nruns in the background. When the chart display is called up the display is not correct. this also happens when the screen saver has been on. How can I get the display to redraw the chart to diaplay correctly.

    This usually happens when the popup panel is not in memory and doesn't
    know that it will ever need to be used. At compile time, LV optimizes
    your code to leave out display calls and to leave out front panel data
    copies if it thinks they will never be seen.
    In the days before property nodes and invoke nodes, LV always got this
    guess right, but these days it is possible to fool it. If you have a
    subVI with no property nodes, and it doesn't use the VI Properties
    to
    Open panel on call, LV may optimize out the chart's buffer accumulation.
    Then when the window opens, the buffer data is empty or old.
    If you place a property node on the diagram for the popup panel, even
    just to read the value of the panel visible property, LV will leave the
    accumulation code in and the chart should have correct values when the
    panel opens.
