After updating to 4.3.5, my iPod Touch nolonger works on my car stereo! Any idea how to restore Version 4.3.4

Don't know if any other users have had this problem?
I have updated my iPod Touch (4th Generation) to the latest software version (4.3.5) but now I can no longer use my iPod Touch with my car stereo.
I drive a brand new Chevrolet Orlando, & until I updated to 4.3.5, My iPod Touch work perfectly with the inbuilt car stereo, including the steering mounted controls & displaying track names, artiest, album, Etc.
Ever since the update, I have lost the display on the stereo, but it still recognises that I have pluged the iPod in.
The only way I can get my iPod to play is by playing a track through the inbuilt speaker (on the iPod) & then plugging it into the car stereo.
When I do this thou, I have no control over what is being played as I am unable to skip tracks/play list/Etc & I have no track information, which I could do when my iPod Touch was running software version 4.3.4 & below!
Is there any way I can reinstall version 4.3.4? I have tried to do a restore through iTunes, but it keeps installing 4.3.5! I have tried to reset my iPod, but again it reinstalls 4.3.5
Any help & advice would be great!

Just to add a bit more information here! LOL!
Tried the followind devises on the car stereo & here are the results -
My Wifes iPhone 3G running iOS 4.3.2 = Worked fine!
My Sons iPhone 4G running iOS 4.3.4 = Worked fine!
My Sons iPod Classic running iOS 2.2.1 = Worked fine!
My Daughters iPod Touch (3rd Gen) running iOS 4.3.3 = Worked fine!
I think this rules out the problem being with my iPod Touch, as it is the only Apple product we as a family own which has been updated to 4.3.5! The rest of my family are now holding off updating there's! LOL!!

  • Why is my iPod touch not working with my car stereo after the update?

I updated to iOS 6 and now my iPod will not play when I plug into my car stereo with the USB port and cable. I am very frustrated!

    You can try:
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
However, sometime an iOS update breaks compatibility. If that is the case you will have to wait for either the car manufacturer or Apple to issue a an update to correct the problem.

  • HT1212 someone disabled my IPOD touch 5 for 22, 880428 minutes.  Any idea how to get it to work?

someone disabled my IPOD for 22, 880 428 minutes.  How can I get it to work again?

    You have two options.
    -Or wait 22, 880, 428 minutes
    -Or restore.
I'm sure that you will want to wait the time, but if you want to do the second:
1- Go to iTunes in your PC/Mac (if it is possible make a backup or if you have one )
2- Connect your iPod Touch and put in DFU Mode
3- To put the iPhone into DFU mode so you can do an iTunes firmware restore follow these steps:
    Step One
Open iTunes and connect the iPhone to your Mac.
    Step Two
Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time.
    Step Three
After exactly 10 seconds release the Sleep/Wake button. Continue holding the home button until you iTunes pops up a message telling you that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode.
The iPhone screen will remain black
4- Restore... Wait until the process is finished
5-Use the backup you did before to get your stuff back
    Cheers.

  • My iPod touch is not connecting to iCloud account, under iCloud settings has old email account and username that I have since updated and are working correctly on my iPad, any idea how I can reset this?

My iPod touch is not connecting to my iCloud account, under iCloud settings it  has my old email account and username that I have since updated and are working correctly on my iPad, any idea how I can reset this on the iPod or otherwise? This old account info keeps coming back on my iPod and messing up access to my apple account and now the icloud. last time a system restore needed to be done to fix it....

It won't give me the option to sign out of the old account, it's that light grey color that you can't click on. And since it has the old email address that it's telling me to go into to verify the account, I can't actually change it... I'm stuck

My ipod has received error code (9).  I have tried to restore, but failed.  Any idea how to restore back to original settings?

    Error 9
This error occurs when the device unexpectedly loses its USB connection with iTunes. This can occur if the device is manually disconnected during the restore process. This issue can be resolved by performing USB troubleshooting, using a different USB dock-connector cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by eliminating conflicts from third-party security software.

My iPod 4th generation doesn't Power Off.  Any idea how to force it to shut Off?

Try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.

  • Tried to update ipod touch software now stuck in recovery loop any ideas?

tried to update software on brand new ipod touch but now stuck in recovery mode (displaying usb plug into itunes logo) any ideas?

    Maybe:
Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes)
Troubleshoot your USB connection. If the issue persists, out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software may be causing this issue. Please follow Troubleshooting security software issues. .
Next try placing in DFU mode and then restoring.

  • 2nd generation iPod touch not working with docking station. Any solutions?

I've recently purchased a Philips micro music system (DCB2020) and whenever I put the iPod on the dock, it makes the connection sound but won't play music when I select the dock function. I've tried an iPod nano and that works so I don't think it's a problem with the docking station. My iPod touch is 2nd generation and has 4.2.1 software update. Does anyone have any idea how I could make the iPod compatible with the docking station?

    OK, Then sometmes this works:

  • IPod touch with ios7 disconnects from car stereo speakers

After upgrading my 2012 iTouch to ios7 It no longer automatically connects to my car stereo speakers when the car is restarted.  Rather it begins playing out of is own speakers.  I need to remove and then re insert the connector.
This was not a problem with ios6 nor Arlie devices.  I is an obvious ios7 bug.
    I would appreciate any suggestions

Sometimes this works. Otherwise you will have to wait for an updte to the car system or the iOS on the iPod

  • My ipod 4th gen screen kept jumping this morning. Had to do a restore on it and it is working fine now. However, when I did the restore it did not load the Nike   app that was factory installed on my ipod. I use this app daily. Any idea how to get it back

My ipod 4th gen screen kept jumping this morning. Had to do a restore to factory conditions and it is working fine now. However, it originally had a factory installed Nike+ app on it and it did not install with the restore. I use this app daily with the running chip to log my workouts. Anyone know how to get this app back from Apple? Loading the Nike app from the app store is not the same thing as you need gps running continually for it to work (as with an iphone). Can't have that with my ipod unless I'm connected to wifi. Help?? Thanks.

If you go to Settings do you see an entry for the Nike app? There is no way to delete or hide that app?
Have you tired using the Spotlight search? Maybe you just can't find it.
Next would be to restore a gain. First from backup then next to factory settings/new iPod.
The Nike app you can download/install
Nike+ Running for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad on the iTunes App Store
Does work on the iPOd. You just do not get all the information that GPS/cellular connection can get. You will still be able to get distance/footstrikes like the installed app an you do not need the shoe sensor.. It uses the built-in sensors on the iPod

  • New ipod touch will not charge with car stereo anymore

I recently got an iPod Touch and when I plug it in to my car stereo it says that "charging is not supported with this accessory". I'm assuming it has something to do with the fact that the new IPT do not charge with firewire.
I'm having the same problem with a USB 2.0 extension cord I bought. this one I don't understand because it is supposed to be USB and not firewire. I've tried plugging that in to the wall with a usb wall charger but I get the same thing, so it's not an issue of there not being enough power.
As far as my car is concerned, the cable has a regular ipod connection. I look up firewire to USB converters but they all have a female firewire (small odd shaped holes) connection, so I couldn't plug my cable in to it. Does anyone have any idea on what I could do to fix this situation so that my ipod will charge while it is plugged in?

You have identified a problem that has been around since the iPod touch came out (also effects the latest generation nanos). Go to your local big box store and by yourself a new charger that is compatible with the touch.

  • Why is my ipod in not working with my car stereo?

i have the stereo hooked up and everything but my ipod doesnt work with the stereo, but my ipod nano works fine with it. i dont understand what its wrong.

Like I said, the Classic doesn't seem to work with many car head units and other 3rd party accessories (something to do with the way Apple have changed the way an iPod recognizes and interacts with these accessories).
Have a look at some of the other threads here that also discuss this.
You would be better off contacting the maker of the car stereos.

  • My ipod touch is froze and wont turn off. any ideas?

My ipod touch is frozen and wont turn off. I need help everything ive tried isnt working!

Just had this similiar issue with my iPod.  Simple steps found through the Apple Support Website. Follow this link:http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1320, or follow instructions listed below to reset a frozen iPod nano/classic/color display/click-wheel, etc.:
    1) Toggle the Hold switch on and then off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again)
    2) Press and hold the Menu and center buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds.  This step may need to be repeated. (*sidenote...I also found that the iPod would not respond/reset when it was connected to my computer. It just continued to state that it was connected and needed to be ejected before disconnecting.  I pulled the link cable out of the frozen iPod and followed the above steps and it reset normally.)
    Hope this helps...
