After upgrading to 10.6 I cannot use AppleTalk to connect to my HP LaserJet 4ML printer.
After upgrading to 10.6 I can no longer use AppleTalk to connect to my HP LaserJet 4ML printer. So I am now using a JetDirect 300X box connected to the parallel port of the printer and an ethernet cable into my Linksys router. But I have had no luck with this setup. I was able to get a printout from the JetDirect box that gave me the IP address of 184.35.129.151 which I tried using in the printer setup dialog box. No luck. My ethernet network IP is 192.168.1.100, so I tried putting in 192.168.1.2, etc. and 192.168.1.151 (151 being the JetDirect IP address). Still no luck. When I do the printer setup it seems to be finding the printer but when I try to print it cannot connect. I have also tried putting the ethernet cable from the JetDirect box directly into the other rear port on my MacPro. No difference.
The HP website clearly says that this printer can be connected to a Mac using the JetDirect box. But the configuration page that I printed out from the printer doesn't say anything about IP addresses and there is nothing in the manual about IP connection. Do I need to find the IP address of this printer, and how do I find that?
I would really like to continue to use this printer. Any help would be much appreciated.

It's to set up on a Windows PC but just get an IP address at step 8. Then access the JetDirect's admin area using the IP address. Make the address fixed so your router cant change it. Then using System Preferences>Print & Fax you need to add the printer using the IPP protocol. If the IPP protocol doesn't work then try the HP JetDirect.
It's been a while since I had my HP LJ4MP set up that way so my memory is a bit fuzzy on it. Once you get it - it works. The only other thought is to get a cable with a 25 pin on one end and USB on the other.

Numbers is a spreadsheet program and FileMaker is a database program, so you probably can't use Numbers to open them unless you had first exported them from FileMaker in a spreadsheet-compatible format.
If you upgraded from 10.6 Snow Leopard or earlier and your old copy of FileMaker won't open anymore, it might be a PowerPC application that is not compatible with 10.7 and later. If that is the case, to work with your FileMaker files you should upgrade your copy of FileMaker to the latest version, which seems to be FileMaker 12. -

the settings are gone, i guess. But even worse, I cannot get the iPad2 to play Full HD thru the Apple digital AV adaptor using apps that support (and advertise this), like AVPlayer HD. This definiteley used to work before one of the last iOS upgrades. (I am now at 5.1.1). -

Quicken Essentials 2010 has less features than Quciken 2007. Keeping track of investments is one feature I need and Quicken Essentials does not include that function. I may have to consider others financial software, such as iBank4, Money4, iFinance, and Money Well.

I was very happy with Snow Leopard, and then I tried to get an app to design my Christmas cards. The computer told me, i had to upgrade to Mavericks to use it.
Now everything is a complete disaster!I was not prompted to make a clone, so i dont have one. I downloaded an upgrade of pro tools that is alleged to work with mavericks, but it does not.
I can't find any of my music files, iTunes downloads, documents, etc... But, all the software i purchased to work within pro tools is there. Im so confused.
Im PC, i have never downloaded an upgrade that made all my files disappear. This is totally unacceptable. -

I tried to use lightning to usb camera adapter but every time I plug it into my ipad mine it give cannot use device. the connected usb device requires too much power. how could I use this attachment.
Or use the camera's SD card instead.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! I understand that after updating your computer to 10.9.3 iTunes stops responding when an iPhone is connected to it. There may be few different steps you will need to go through to get this resolved. I suggest working through the steps in the attached article.

I'm using Xerox 1450GA, before upgrade to OSX 10.9, printing Adobe file could be in 100% real size. After upgrade, lost control, even checked setting in 100% in setting, come out image still auto reduce few percents, that make me confuse and cannot complete digital printing jobs, someone have same problem? Please help to solve...I've spent hours on the phone going in circles with HP's "support" (I use the term loosely here) and can confirm that it's a driver issue. The best part is, HP and Apple claim that neither of them have a copy of the v2.14 driver that actually worked, and I can't seem to dig one up online anywhere. I've tried everything under the sun and just gave up... ordering an Epson and selling both of my HP's. I think the only other option is to wait for HP to release working drivers, but since they don't even seem to understand that their driver is the source of the problem, I wouldn't hold my breath.
It seems really crazy to me that neither the manufacturer nor Apple keep a copy of the previous driver, but that's what I've been told. HP did release what they're calling a new 10.9 raster driver (available on their site), but it didn't fix the problem for me. If you have a timemachine backup from before the 2.16.1 driver was released, I'd restore to that and turn off automatic updates. If you don't (like me) seems like your stuck. -
