Again  JSF with Tomcat5

Thanks for your reply. I will repeat my problem once more.
My directory structure is as follows :
login
index.html
index.jsp
web-inf
web.xml
faces-config.xml
html_basic.tld
jsf_core.tld
classes
LoginBean.class
lib
JAR files(We do have all necessary jar files)
The welcome page of my application is index.html which is
displayed properly.But when i click on the hyperlink for "lndex.jsp" it
gives an error message as,
org.apache.jasper.JasperException: File "/login/html" not found
(Actually it is not finding html_basic.tld)
As you told,we have checked the log file of Tomcat and the message is
similar to the above one.We are sending the entire log details as an attachment
(.txt file)
In the index.jsp page i have the following statements:
<%@ taglib uri="html" prefix="h" %>
<%@ taglib uri="core" prefix="f" %>
In my web.xml i am providing the mapping as :
<taglib>
<taglib-uri>html</taglib-uri>
<taglib-location>/WEB-INF/html_basic.tld</taglib-location>
</taglib>
I feel that I am following all the standard rules for writing a
JSF-based web application .Still can't figure out what the real
problem is? Please help us. Hoping for your reply.
Note : Mr. Martin(markoc50) thanks for ur reply. i am modifying the problem presentation so that u can clearly get it. Also we have followed ur instructions but still the problem can't be resolved.Please help us.

I have in web.xml following JSF tag libraries declaration:
<taglib>
          <taglib-uri>http://java.sun.com/jsf/core</taglib-uri>
          <taglib-location>tld/jsf_core.tld</taglib-location>
</taglib>
<taglib>
          <taglib-uri>http://java.sun.com/jsf/html</taglib-uri>
          <taglib-location>tld/html_basic.tld</taglib-location>
</taglib>
web.xml is in WEB-INF, so reference to *.tld files is relative to this WEB-INF directory. I my case is it tld/ subdirectory where all my tlds are stored (JSTL, JSF, custom). In your case I see /WEB-INF/html_basic.tld, but html_basic.tld is in same directory as web.xml.
Also "html" reference name for JSF HTML tag library is possible, but String "html" is frequent. I encourage use standard "http://java.sun.com/jsf/html" and in JSP:
<%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html" prefix="h" %>

    I updated the web.xml file, created the faces directory under my examplesWebApp active domain with the jsp files, it finds the UserNumberBean class but it still crashes with the above.
    One problem I was having while deploying it that Weblogic Server did not allow me to copy jsf-api.jar, jstl.jar,etc under web-inf/lib.
    So I added all required jar files under bea root/config/samples/lib and updated startWeblogic.cmd
    Please help with how to deploy correctly the samples:

    I believe there should be some sample code available via the JavaServer Pages Samples Web page.

  • Why am I getting a blue box with question mark instead of logo image?  It happens in my signature (in gmail) and in mailchimp (again, only with the logo).

    Why am I getting a blue box with question mark instead of logo image?  It happens in my signature (in gmail) and in mailchimp (again, only with the logo).

    The question mark in the box, if it looks like this:   means that safari cannot find the linked image.  On windows machines, this would be the equivilant of  the small "page-with-a-red-X" logo that appears in the same scenario.  Check the reference to the image and make sure that the image is in the correct location, and is accessable by the reference.

  • Tiles / JSF with single tiles-defs.xml file, no templating JSPs?

    All the examples I've seen for using JSF with Tiles use many JSP files for the templating information, resulting in twice as many JSP files as you would have in, say, a typical Struts project.
    When coding in Struts you can forward to a tiles definition, meaning that if all your page layouts are defined in tiles-defs.xml, then you only need to provide the JSPs for the non-standard parts of each page.
    With JSF it seems that you need to provide a JSP for the template for each file (which might end up being a single <tiles:insert... />, and the JSP for the non-standard bits for that page.
    Is there a way to either a) combine those two JSP files into one (by maby using a <tiles:put ... type="string"/> - tried this, couldn't get it to work), or b) get something similar to the way Struts + Tiles works?

    It does not work by default. It is a fact.
    Source for Struts, Tiles and even JSF are open now. I.e. everybody who has interest can research this question.
    I got this reply from another forum for this question and I am currently working on it. Lets see if we get somewhere.

    Your ringtone will only be where you put it.
    You get one download.
    If you have failed to transfer it from your iphone to your computer, then do so.  You can then sync it to your new iphone.

    My doubt is based on that subject , how to write policy file and how to call doAsPrivileged() mehod on that Subject in order to navigate web pages.how to provide web pages permission for particular role in policy file..
    For example i have three pages login.xhtml,user.xhtml,admin.xhtml.
    1> if the logged in person is admin, then we want to display admin.xhtml
    2> if the loggend is person is user , then we want to display user.xhtml
    untill now i did and found who is logged in and what are his type( admin or user) .now i want configure the web.xml and faces-config.xml based on policy fileTo the best of my knowledge, there is nothing in the standard NavigationHandler which accounts for JAAS security. If you wanted, you could create a custom NavigationHandler to do this. If you think the idea is worthy enough, you could issue an enhancement request to the specification ([https://javaserverfaces-spec-public.dev.java.net/]).

  • LIS11 - will fill setup table again conflict with delta?

    Hi experts,
    we are using LIS11 delta mechanism. LIS11 data is used for two different dataflows in BW.
    Because of a delta problem with the R3 enhancements the delta doesn't work properly for one of these.
    For this one we want to do a full load until the problem in R3 is solved.
    Therefore we have to fill the setup tables again each time we want to do a full load.
    My question:
    Does filling the setup tables again conflict with the delta mechanism for the other flow?
    Or will delta continue to work properly?
    Marco

    hi,
    The delta type for all 2LIS_11* DS is ABR--Complete Delta with Deletion Flag Via Delta Queue.
    This means that there will be no conflict of data duplication in case of full repair, the delta is independent of set up tables.
    Delete and reload the setup tables and the delta will not be effected and also the data will also not be duplicated in cube.
    regards,
    Arvind.
